    Opis:
    This article draws attention to one of the important dimensions of the Christian vision of death, namely its ecclesial dimension. Human existence, after the pilgrimage, is not a solitary existence. Since the Church is one, as we profess in the Creed, all those who belong to Christ, both the living and the dead, belong to the one reality of the Church. The dead are thus not just pious memories in the human mind, but a continuing real presence in the Church, each according to one’s proper state. The Second Vatican Council recalled the three dimensions of the Church - the earthly, heavenly, and the being at the stage of purification. Since ancient times, the Church prays and encourages prayers for the dead, and recalls the communication of spiritual goods. While individual persons are responsible for their actions, including the preparation of the definitive meeting with the Lord, the whole Church still intercedes for them. With the reality of purgatory, which is, in fact, an experience of the mercy of God, persons closely united to Christ and His Church are able to achieve the measure of sanctification, which they failed to achieve during their earthly life.

    Opis:
    From the rich theological problems of the renewed liturgy of the rites related to the Sacrament of the Sick — especially from the theological and pastoral introduction, biblical readings and euchological texts — the Author largely discusses only the basic ones. It concerns: Christological and paschal dimension of the Sacrament of the Sick; the strengthening role of the Holy Spirit in the life of sick person; ecclesial dimension of this sacrament. The author outlines briefly such elements like: the penitential dimension of the Sacrament of the Sick; the meaning of the sickness in the theological approach; the need for the introduction of the extraordinary minister (for example permanent deacon); the problem of distribution of the sacrament not only to those who suffer physically but also mentally (deep depression); the need of inclusion into the ritual a notion concerning the situation of dying person — present texts speak about the healing and avoid the references to the end of the earthly life obscuring the fear of the dying person (it means there are no elements of Christian Eastern hope).
    Z bogatego zakresu problematyki teologicznej nowej liturgii obrzędów sakramentu namaszczenia chorych, zwłaszcza zawartej we wprowadzeniu teologiczno-pastoralnym, w czytaniach biblijnych i tekstach euchologijnych, autor szerzej omawia jedynie zagadnienia podstawowe. Należą do nich: wymiar chrystologiczny i paschalny sakramentu namaszczenia chorych; umacniająca rola Ducha Świętego w życiu chorego; wymiar eklezjalny tego sakramentu. W sposób skrótowy zasygnalizowano jeszcze takie zagadnienia teologiczno-pastoralne, jak: wymiar pokutny sakramentu namaszczenia; sens choroby w ujęciu teologicznym; potrzeba wprowadzenia nadzwyczajnego szafarza (np. diakona stałego); problem udzielania tego sakramentu osobom chorym nie tylko somatycznie, ale i psychicznie (np. w chwili ciężkiej depresji), a także uwzględnienie w obrzędzie stanu człowieka umierającego, gdyż teksty mówią o uzdrowieniu, natomiast unikają odniesień do końca życia i tłumią lęk osoby umierającej (brak akcentów chrześcijańskiej nadziei paschalnej).

    Opis:
    One of the important and actually problems of theology is its place in the public arena. Concerning this matter are connected questions about experiences, problems and possibilities and challenges which have a contextual character. The present article discusses this issue from the point of view of Polish experiences and opportunities. At the beginning on the basis of reflections of Polish theologians is presented the connection in the public arena with the nature of theology and its tasks which are to be fulfilled in Church and in society. In this regard specific characteristics in an ecclesial dimension of theology are discussed. In the next step were showed kinds of public arena in which it is possible to study and teach theology and the work of its representatives. In Poland it is politics and the social sphere, culture and media and especially the academic world. In the next point were depicted the main experiences and problems of Polish theology and Polish theologians within the public arena. At the end are presented important challenges for theology and its presence in the public arena. The present article is not the complete presentation of a very complex problem but a depiction of it and will inspire research and studies about theology and its place in thepublic arena.
    Jednym z ważnych aktualnych problemów teologicznych jest miejsce teologii w przestrzeni publicznej. Wiążą się z tym pytania o doświadczenia i problemy, ale także możliwości i wyzwania, które mają dość mocne zabarwienie kontekstualne. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia tę problematykę z perspektywy doświadczeń i możliwości w Polsce. Na początku, w oparciu o refleksje polskich teologów, został przedstawiony związek przestrzeni publicznej z naturą teologiii zadaniami, jakie ma pełnić w Kościele i społeczeństwie. Szczególnym rysem charakterystycznym jest w tym względzie wymiar eklezjalny teologii. W dalszej kolejności zostały ukazane rodzaje przestrzeni publicznej, w których możliwa jest obecność teologii i jej przedstawicieli. W Polsce jest to sfera polityczna i społeczna, kultura i media, a zwłaszcza środowiska akademickie. W kolejnym punkcie zostały zarysowane doświadczenia i problemy polskiej teologii i polskich teologów z przestrzenią publiczną. Na końcu zostały ukazane główne wyzwania istotne dla obecności teologii w przestrzeni publicznej. Artykuł nie jest całościowym przedstawieniem problematyki, ale jej zarysem i inspiruje do dalszych badań i studiów w tym zakresie.
