Opis:
This paper discusses the numerical resolution of the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation associated with optimal control problem when the state equation is of algebraic differential type. We discuss two numerical schemes. The first reduces to the standard framework, while the second does not suppose any knowledge of the Jacobian of the data. We obtain some error estimates, and display numerical results obtained on a simple test problem.

The article discusses important issues regarding changes in dynamic viscosity and kinematic viscosity of engine oils during the operation of agricultural vehicles, their monitoring and tools used for this purpose. Attention has been paid to the increasing requirements and loads of lubricating oil in modern engines of agricultural tractors. In combustion engines, viscosity determines the degree of piston sealing in the cylinder, the efficiency of engine cooling and the possibility and start-up of a non-heated engine. The tests consisted in determining the viscosity of mineral and synthetic oils collected from tractor engines with similar mileages. All samples came from turbocharged, self-ignition engines serviced at authorized service stations. The conducted research indicates the necessity of ongoing monitoring of the viscosity status of oils.

In this study the results of simultaneous measurements of dynamic viscosity, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity and pH of two nanofluids, i.e., thermal oil/Al2O3 and thermal oil/TiO2 are presented. Thermal oil is selected as a base liquid because of possible application in ORC systems as an intermediate heating agent. Nanoparticles were tested at the concentration of 0.1%, 1%, and 5% by weight within temperature range from 20°C to 60°C. Measurement devices were carefully calibrated by comparison obtained results for pure base liquid (thermal oil) with manufacturer’s data. The results obtained for tested nanofluids were compared with predictions made by use of existing models for liquid/solid particles mixtures.

There is presented an effect of the changes of the concentration of magnetic particles included in the ferro-oil on its dynamic viscosity in the presence of external magnetic field in this paper. The study was conducted in the context of temperature’s changes. The authors assume that the concentration of magnetic particles in ferro-oil can significantly affects its basic physical properties as dynamic viscosity, as well as the operational properties of journal sliding bearings ferro-oil’s lubricated. The equally significant as the above mentioned properties may affect the external environmental conditions of operation, especially temperature changes. In this context, an important technique’s issue appears to determine the principles of selection of optimal concentration of above mentioned particles according to the existing environmental conditions of its operation, or the expectations laid against the operation of the devices. Rheological studies were carried out on Physica MCR 301 rheometer in the “plate-to-plate” measurement system with an adapter to magneto-rheological studies MRD 180/1T. Thermal stabilization was carried out by a water jacket in a closed chamber and controlling the nature of the magnetic field was conducted by current’s changes. Tests were performed for four selected temperature range of 60º, 70º, 80º and 90ºC as regards changes an external magnetic field intensity 0-700 mT. The selected concentrations of magnetic particles in a ferro-oil were 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8%.

Additives, ageing or wear and impurities can cause, that relationship between shear stress and shear rate in a lubricating oil is or becomes non-linear, and due to this, a significant change in the values of operating parameters of slide hydrodynamic bearings may occur. It is important to take into account such dependence during design and simulations of slide bearings. The calculations, which consider the non-linear properties of the lubricating oil, can be carried out by adopting the generalized Newtonian fluid models. This paper shows the result of CFD simulation of slide conical bearings hydrodynamic lubrication, assuming that the lubricating oil behaves as a generalized Newtonian fluid. The hydrodynamic pressure distributions, load carrying capacities and friction torques were calculated for bearings lubricated with different types of generalized Newtonian fluids and the obtained data were compared. In the study, the following models of fluids were adopted: the Power-law fluid (Ostwald-de Waele), the Cross fluid and the Carreau fluid. The coefficients of mentioned relationships were determined by fitting the curves described by each model to the experimental data using the least squares approximation method. The calculations of hydrodynamic pressure distributions, load carrying capacities and friction torques were carried out using the commercial CFD software Ansys Fluent from the Ansys Workbench 2 platform.

Opis:
The viscosity of lubricant is physical quantity, which has major impact on slide bearings and micro-bearings functioning parameters. Applying computer simulations as a tool to study the hydrodynamic lubrication phenomenon, researcher should create a computational model as close as possible to the real object, therefore the knowledge about a viscosity dependence on temperature and shear rate of bearing lubricating oil is essential in simulations of slide bearings hydrodynamic lubrication. This paper present research, which show, that also an influence of pressure on oil dynamic viscosity should be taken into consideration. The aim of this work is to determine the influence of pressure on the dynamic viscosity of lubricating oil. In this research the selected new and used engine oils were investigated. The dynamic viscosity of oil was measured at different pressures and temperatures in the function of shear rate. In this work the engine oils of passenger vehicles were investigated. The viscosity measurements for new and used lubricating oils were made with the Thermo Scientific Haake Mars III rheometer. The received information will be used in the simulations of hydrodynamic lubrication of slide bearings and microbearings. Fitting viscosity curves, described by a viscosity model adopted in simulations, to the experimental data, obtained for motor oils, will allow to find the values of coefficients of that model. The determined coefficients will be set in the relationship defined by the adopted viscosity model, implemented in the used for simulations CFD software. Collected data may also be useful for designing bearings and sliding friction pairs.

The mobility of the 110 nm-Fe2O3 particles in a viscous sucrose solution depends on the concentration of the nanoparticles. When the average particle–particle nearest neighbor distance is less than 250 nm, the particle interaction slows down their mobility. When is more than 170 nm, the small mobility of nanoparticles does not depend on their concentration. The critical distance is approximately equal to 2Rh = 260 nm, where Rh is the hydrodynamic radius, determined by the dynamic light scattering (DLS) method.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of changes in the concentration of magnetic particles in ferrooil to change its physical properties, in particular the dynamic viscosity in a constant external magnetic field in terms of changes in shear rate and changes in the intensity of that field. Rheological studies were carried out on Physica MCR 301 rheometer in the “plate -plate” measurement system with an adapter to magneto-rheological studies MRD 180/1T. The applied adapter enable to obtain almost homogeneous distribution of magnetic field strength. Thermal stabilization was carried out by a water jacket in a closed chamber and controlling the nature of the magnetic field was conducted by current’s changes. Tests were performed for shear rate’s changes from 0 to 1000 1/s as regards changes an external magnetic field intensity 0–700 mT. The selected concentrations of magnetic particles in a ferro-oil were 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8% and the tested ferrofluid was product of FerroTec of Unterensingen (Germany), which is a mixture of colloidal mineral motor oil Penzzoil’s LongLife Gold's SAE 15W-40 with Fe3O4 magnetic particles and the surfactant. The paper presents, in the form of graphs, the changes of ferro-oil’s dynamic viscosity as a function of shear rate and concentration of magnetic particles in the aspect of external magnetic field’s intensity changes. The results of research were also subjected to analysis. The obtained characteristics of ferro-oil’s viscosity show clear evidence of non-Newtonian properties of the liquids. There is observed progression of these properties with increasing of magnetic particles concentration. This fact indicates the essential effect of the addition mentioned particles to the change of the ferro-oil’s viscosity characteristics.

This article has been focused on the analysis of changes in friction force as well as coefficient of friction of slide journal bearing in terms of the concentration of magnetic particles in the lubricating ferro-oil. There has been present an analytical and numerical calculation model based on experimentally determined physical quantities describing the dependence of ferro-oil’s viscosity on fundamental parameters such as temperature, pressure or external magnetic field in the paper. Numerical calculations of the dimensionless friction force as well as the dimensionless friction coefficient were performed by solving the Reynold’s type equation using the finite difference method using Mathcad 15 and own calculation procedures. The obtained results has been presented in the form of a series of graphs that take into account: the influence of external magnetic field, corrections related to the influence of pressure changes, corrections related to the influence of temperature changes and finally corrections related to non-Newtonian ferro-oil properties. An analysis of the obtained characteristics has been made so the observations and conclusions were drawn regarding optimum magnetic particle content in the ferro-oil lubricating the sliding journal bearing.

Przedmiotem badań było określenie wpływu trzech, dostępnych na rynku krajowym, depresatorów do oleju napędowego na lepkość dynamiczną surowego oleju słonecznikowego (OS), kukurydzianego (OK) i rzepakowego (OR). Do odmierzonych w 20oC objętości olejów dodano 1% i 5% [v/v] depresatorów.
The aim of this study was to determine the impact of three, available in the market, depressants for diesel fuel, on the dynamic viscosity of crude sunflower oil (OS), corn oil (OK) and rape oil (OR). To measured at 20°C volumes of oils, there was added 1% and 5% [v/v] of depressants. After thorough mixing, the viscosity curves as a function of temperature in the range of 5-55 ° C for each of the test cases was determined. The measurement was performed on a rotating viscometer RC1 CS with measurement system CC48 that complies with standard ISO 3219. It was demonstrated that in the case of sunflower oil addition 5% [v/v] of depressant caused 20% reduction of dynamic viscosity. Based on the statistical analysis it was found that result due to the presence of depressant increases with its participation and the temperature decrease.

A single filtration membrane with a uniform transmission structure in 2D space was used for the purposes of this analysis. The filtration system relations are described for the threshold filtration force, maximum and minimum height of the filtered liquid to guarantee stable filtration in a gravity field, and the duration of the process and forces affecting the microparticles during filtration. As a result of research it was found that substances such as higher fatty acid methyl esters or vegetable oils may be the substitute of diesel. Biofuels may be produced by using all fats, irrespective of their origin, both vegetable oils and animal fats. The objective of the study was to optimise the share of diesel in biofuels from animal fats and used-cooking oil to ensure that the viscosity of the mixture obtained in all the cases complies with the standards EN 14214 and EN 590. The materials used in the research were fatty acid methyl esters deriving from animal fats (AF), used cooking oil (UCO) and diesel (ON). The scope of research included the measurement of the density of fatty acid methyl esters with an aerometric method and the measurement of the dynamic viscosity of mixtures of diesel and fatty acid methyl esters in six aspect ratios: 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30%. The research shows that diesel is only a dilution of biofuels and the optimal share of diesel in biofuels deriving from animal fats and used cooking oil equals to 68%, where the kinematic viscosity complies with the standard EN 14214, while the maximum share of biofuels in diesel, where the kinematic viscosity is consistent with the standard EN 590, equals to 72%.
Materiałem użytym do badan były estry metylowe kwasów tłuszczowych z tłuszczów zwierzęcych (AF) i oleju posmażalniczego (UCO) oraz olej napędowy (ON).
