Opis:
The article offers a comparative analysis of a lost painting by Witkacy (know only from a photographic reproduction) and a poem by Julian Tuwim. Tuwim’s poem inspired Witkacy to create his work. The poem is used by the author as a model for interpreting philosophical aspects of Witkacy’s painterly composition, offering a concluding remark that the visual translation of the poem reflects Witkacy’s aesthetic philosophy. The article also provides an new way of reading Tuwim’s poetry in which the painterly aspect of his writing is being particularly exposed.

The problem of revitalisation of mansions, castles and palaces has been undertaken for years both in theory and in conservation practice. This paper presents the complicated history of a large manor house in the former Vilnius Province, its significant reconstruction and function changes. A few years ago, the manor was restored and the new interior furnishings are a spectacular example of a conservation creation.

Opis:
Most archaeological sites, which were considered remains of medieval knight`s manor have readable (separated) terrain form. Most frequently they were situated on artificial mounds, placed in boggy areas, often in valleys of small rivers. As can be seen from the query in all kinds of archaeological publications, on the territory of medieval Polish state (conventionally within the reign of Casimir the Great) about 200 mansions that are relics of knight’s abodes ware investigated in varying degrees. The degree of their knowledge is very different. Only about 46% sites being excavated were elaborated and the results were published with different accuracy. Their scientific level is unfortunately very diverse. While the form of the seats are usually described in a very detailed way, the artifacts found during excavations are mostly only mentioned. Most often we do not know from which part of the site they come from. Although they are sometimes discussed in the framework of the excavation, but it is hard to know if they were in the building or in the courtyard, and perhaps in the moat? Paradoxically, most numerous finds – potsherds – are the least described. They are only enumerated, without even trying to identify forms (vase, pot, jag…). Also, in the case of metal objects, they description very often ends up on the development of an accurate list of the every, even the slightest, iron nuggets. Unfortunately, there are too many lists of objects referred to as „undefined”. With the greatest care archaeologists treat all and any findings in the field of armament, but this is the category of monuments which sometimes introduces a lot of confusion in trying the dating of the settlement. The armament usually is considered to be the so-called „a good dating device” and of course, it is true, provided that it date back itself. Sometimes the total opposition raises in a situation where, for example, dating of one found spur, is considered to be more important than dating established on the basis of hundreds found fragments of vessels and stove tiles. Therefore the necessity to use written and iconographic sources in order to reconstruct the whole material culture is widely appreciated. Here it is necessary to work with medievalist and art historians. It is not a simple matter because dealing with material culture is not very popular among the historians. In the final part of the article the development of a model of conical settlement excavations in Siedlątków published by Janina Kamińska in 1968 is discussed.

Opis:
Accommodation base is one of the key elements of tourism development. The level of development, quality or diversity of its offer significantly determines the level of tourist services in a given country. Hospitality as a part of the accommodation base is not a homogeneous concept. There are many types of hotels on the tourist market: resort, business, city or spa type hotels. Among the many types of hotels operating on the market, it is worth mentioning historical hotels. These objects stand out, among others, location in historic places such as castles, palaces or courts and sublime offer. The aim of the article is to present the issue of management of historical hotels in Poland on the example of one of the most well-known organizations in this segment, i.e. the Historical Hotels of Poland (Heritage Hotels Poland). The publication was based on available book literature, statistical data, netographic data, as well as on the basis of information obtained from the members of the discussed organization. The article presents the roots of historical hotel industry in Poland and in the world. The development and evolution of historical hotels over the years has been discussed. The work also describes the most important historical hotel organizations in the world and in Poland. They were characterized and the most important goals of their activities were discussed. Particular attention in this publication is devoted to one of the youngest historical hotel organizations in Poland, the Historical Heritage Hotels Foundation (Heritage Hotels Poland). The publication discusses the circumstances of its establishment, and describes the system of values that are guided in its activities. The most important benefits resulting from membership in this organization were also presented. Also, it was not forgotten about describing its most important achievements or consolidation with another organization of historical hotels. The research method used in the article was literary criticism, telephone interview and analysis of existing data. The thesis to be put in the work is the assumption that the Historical Hotels of Poland (HHP) discussed here is an important element affecting the efficiency and effectiveness of hotel management in Poland.
Baza noclegowa stanowi jeden z kluczowych elementów zagospodarowania turystycznego. Poziom rozwoju, jakość czy też różnorodność jej oferty decyduje w istotny sposób o randze usług turystycznych na terenie danego kraju. Hotelarstwo jako część składowa bazy noclegowej nie jest działalnością jednorodną. Na rynku turystycznym znajduje się wiele typów hoteli: hotele kurortowe, biznesowe, miejskie oraz typu spa. Warto wspomnieć także o hotelach historycznych. Obiekty te wyróżniają się między innymi lokalizacją w zabytkowych miejscach, takich jak zamki, pałace czy też dwory, oraz wysublimowaną ofertą. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie problematyki zarządzania hotelarstwem historycznym w Polsce na przykładzie jednej z najbardziej znanych organizacji w tym segmencie, czyli Fundacji Hotele Historyczne Polska (Heritage Hotels Poland). W artykule przedstawiono genezę hotelarstwa historycznego w Polsce i na świecie. Omówiono jego rozwój i ewolucję na przestrzeni lat. W pracy zaprezentowano również najważniejsze organizacje hotelarstwa historycznego na świecie i w Polsce. Dokonano ich charakterystyki oraz omówiono najistotniejsze cele ich działań. Szczególną uwagę w niniejszej publikacji poświęcono jednej z najmłodszych organizacji hotelarstwa historycznego w Polsce, czyli Fundacji Hotele Historyczne Polska (Heritage Hotels Poland). Omówiono okoliczności jej powołania, scharakteryzowano system wartości, jakimi kieruje się w swoich działaniach. Przedstawiono również najważniejsze korzyści wynikające z członkostwa w tej organizacji. Opisano jej najważniejsze osiągnięcia oraz konsolidację z inną organizacją hoteli historycznych. Metodą badawczą zastosowaną w artykule była krytyka piśmiennicza, wywiad telefoniczny i analiza danych wtórnych. Publikacja powstała na podstawie dostępnej literatury książkowej, danych statystycznych, netograficznych, jak również na podstawie wywiadu swobodnego. Tezą artykułu jest stwierdzenie, że Fundacja Hotele Historyczne Polska (HHP) stanowi ważny element wpływający na efektywność i sprawność zarządzania hotelarstwem historycznym w Polsce.
