Obecnie wielodzietność nie powinna być kojarzona jedynie z negatywnymi zjawiskami, zwłaszcza kiedy staje się świadoma. Rodzina wielodzietna jest niezbędna w rozwoju społeczeństwa, stanowi wielką szansę dla jego przyszłości. Pomimo niekiedy większego ubóstwa materialnego, jest bardziej szczęśliwa, gdyż jest środowiskiem bogatszym w relacje międzyludzkie oraz zazwyczaj jest bardziej religijna. Rodziny wielodzietne powinny być wspierane przez państwo poprzez właściwą opiekę prawną oraz ulgi podatkowe. Rodzina hojnie obdarzona dziećmi jest świadectwem cywilizacji miłości i życia. Wzmacnia miłość – bezinteresowny dar na rzecz drugiej osoby i wielkoduszne przyjmowanie życia, powodując reperkusje w całym życiu społecznym. Kościół powinien z większą mocą kształtować przychylny klimat wobec rodzicielstwa oraz rodzin wielodzietnych, jako środowiska ważnego dla Kościoła oraz społeczności lokalnej i narodowej z punktu widzenia wychowawczego, kulturowego, ekonomicznego i demograficznego.
The Church showing the anthropological reality of the family emphasizes its foreground value and role in the life of the Church and society. Ministerial service of the Church to the families encloses the abundance of spirituals, moral and financial help. Nowadays multiple children families shouldn't be associated only with negative circumstances, especially when it's aware. The Conference of Polish Episcopate clearly states that identifying multi-child families with pathology is hurting and unauthorized. Multi-child family is crucial for the development of the society and work human capital, it creates a great chance for its future. Despite in some cases greater poverty, large family is happier as it creates an environment rich in interpersonal relations and statistically is more religious. Such kind of families should be supported by proper legal help and tax reductions. A family with many children is a picture of civilization of love and live, it strengthens love – selfless gift for another human being and generous accepting of new life, affecting the life of the whole society. The Church should advocate more strongly in favor of parenthood and multi-child families as important environment for Church and whole community from educational, cultural, economic and demographic point of view.

Der Artikel diskutiert die Frage des Programms und der pastoralen Projekte von Bischof Wilhelm Pluta (1910 - 1986) im Kontext der Konflikte mit der damaligen Regierung und einem Teil des Klerus. Die Analyse der vorhanden Quellen erlaubte die Unterscheidung der von Pluta aufgeworfenen theologischen und sozialen Fragen und der Quellen seiner theologischen Inspiration.Sein pastorales Programm führte zur Formation und Begleitung von Laien und zu ihrer aktiven Beteiligung am gesellschaftlichen Leben und den Initiativen der römisch-katholischen Kirche. Dies ist zu einer Konfliktquelle geworden. In den Augen der Regierung stellte er in der Frage das angenommene politische Modell, denn der Klerus erforderte ein Umdenken über seine Identität und eine Änderung der Art und Weise, wie er seine Berufung durch Seelsorge umsetzt. Bei der Lösung der Konflikte spielte die reife Persönlichkeit von Pluta eine entscheidende Rolle.
W artykule podjęto zagadnienie programu i projektów duszpasterskich Biskupa Wilhelma Pluty (1910 – 1986) w kontekście konfliktów ówczesną z władzą państwową i częścią duchowieństwa. Analiza dostępnych źródeł pozwoliła wyodrębnić zakres zagadnień teologicznych i społecznych poruszanych przez Plutę oraz źródła inspiracji teologicznej. Jego program duszpasterski prowadził do formacji i towarzyszenia osobom świeckim oraz ich aktywnego zaangażowania w życie społeczne i działalność Kościoła rzymskokatolickiego. To stało się źródłem konfliktu. W oczach władzy stanowił zagrożenie dla przyjętego modelu politycznego, od duchownych wymagał zmiany w myśleniu o swojej tożsamości oraz zmiany w sposobie realizacji powołania poprzez duszpasterstwo oparte na relacji interpersonalnej i aktywnym, zaangażowanym towarzyszeniu osobom świeckim na drodze formowania sumienia. W rozwiązywaniu zaistniałych konfliktów rozstrzygającą rolę miała dojrzała osobowość Pluty.

Opis:
The Church points to the fact that disabled people have the right to get married and start a family. This right results from those people’s personal dignity that has been given to them by God – the Creator. The possibility to start marital-familial communities by the disabled is a challenge for pastorate, as disability of the spouse negatively influences the realization of all the functions of the family. The basic role in the pastorate of the families of disabled people is played by the parish. Parish pastors should meet the spiritual and material needs of the disabled and their families. Their work should be permanent and systematic. Pastorate realized on the higher level, especially on the level of the diocese, has a great significance. It complements parish pastorate, meeting the spiritual, psychological, rehabilitation and social needs of the disabled and their families. A similar role is played by associations and foundations that are guided in their work by the Church’s social teaching.

The post-synodal Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia published on 8 April 2016, offers distinctive and specific theology of family based on the Eucharist. Throughout the document, Pope Francis highlights the significance of Eucharist in the family life. According to him, Eucharist has a unique role in the creation and formation of the Christian families. He calls Eucharist “a medicine for the imperfect” to heal the wounds of the family. Therefore, all the Christian families have to meditate on the great mystery of Eucharist to learn the basic lessons of Christian love and communion. Pope Francis exhorts the priests to apply the logic of mercy in the pastoral field. Amoris Laetitia strongly emphasises the need for the pastoral companion- ship by the priests to those who are weak and live in the situation of error. They have to be invited to come to the main stream of the Church, since Church is the house of all the faithful. In fact, every family may try to practise the Eucharistic love. In short, Amoris Laetita is a useful handbook for all the faithful to know the basic principles of family life and the value of Eucharistic centred Christian life.
Posynodalna adhortacja apostolska Amoris Laetitia ukazuje specyficzną teologię rodziny opartą o Eucharystię. W całym dokumencie papież Franciszek uwydatnia znaczenie Eucharystii w życiu rodziny. Według niego Eucharystia spełnia niezastąpioną rolę w tworzeniu i formacji chrześcijańskich rodzin. Papież nazywa Eucharystię „lekarstwem dla niedoskonałych” leczącą rany rodzin. Dlatego też chrześcijańskie rodziny powinny medytować tajemnice Eucharystii, aby nauczyć się podstaw prawdziwej miłości i komunii. Papież Franciszek wzywa kapłanów do stosowania logiki miłosierdzia na gruncie duszpasterskim. Amoris Laetitia usilnie podkreśla potrzebę duszpasterskiego towarzyszenia wszystkim tym, którzy są słabi i żyją w grzechu. Także oni powinni być zaproszeni do życia w Kościele, gdyż ten Kościół jest domem dla wszystkich wierzących. Wszak każda rodzina może żyć miłością ewangelijną. Amoris Laetitia jest użyteczna wskazówką dla poznania podstawowych zasad życia rodzinnego i wartości Eucharystii skupiającej chrześcijańskie życie.

Duszpasterstwo to zorganizowana działalność Kościoła, która urzeczywistnia zbawcze dzieło Chrystusa. Dokonuje się ono poprzez głoszenie Słowa Boże, sprawowaną liturgię i świadectwo życia. Działalność ta jest skierowana do małżeństw i rodzin. Kościół staje się oblubienicą Chrystusa poprzez „Kościół domowy”, poprzez tę miłość, którą się w nim przeżywa. Małżonkowie, aby mogli w pełni kochać, stając się ciągle uczestnikami tej „wielkiej tajemnicy” potrzebują działań ewangelizacyjnych w ramach właściwie rozumianego duszpasterstwa rodzin.
Pastoral care is an organized activity of the Church, which implements the salvation act of Christ. It is done through the preaching the Word of God, through liturgy and witness of life. These activities are aimed at couples and families. The author points out that the Church is the bride of Christ through "domestic church" by love that is experienced within it. Spouses, to be able to fully love, becoming participants of that "great mystery", need evangelic activities in a well-understood pastoral care of families.

A family which is founded on love, and the sacrament of marriage of the parents is the best environment for living, raising and rehabilitating a disabled child. His/her presence presents numerous difficulties that the parents have to overcome. Disability often negatively impacts the child’s acceptance of the parents. Due to the child’s disability the relationship between the parents may be disturbed; its impact is also perceptible in the relationship of the affected child with his/her siblings and other family members. Parents not always can look after their disabled child and deal with his/her rehabilitation and upbringing. Such difficulties constitute a challenge for various people and social institutions that help families with disabled children. Among them is also the Church whose pastoral care is meant to directly assist families and guide them in their seeking material, medical and psychological help.

Bp Wilhelm Pluta (1910-1986) należał do prekursorów nowoczesnego duszpasterstwa małżeństw i rodzin w Polsce. Interesował się tym tematem już jako kapłan archidiecezji katowickiej, opracowując materiały zawierające strukturę i treść nauk przedślubnych i kursów przedmałżeńskich. Idee wówczas wypracowane leżały u podstaw jego działalności jako biskupa od 1958 r. Stanął on na czele Komisji Episkopatu do spraw Duszpasterstwa Rodzin, której przewodniczył przez pierwszą kadencję w latach 1965-1970, opracowując m.in. „Pierwszą instrukcję Episkopatu Polski dla duchowieństwa o przygotowaniu wiernych do sakramentu małżeństwa i duszpasterstwa rodzin”. Najważniejszą zasługą bpa Wilhelma Pluty w omawianym obszarze jest rozwój współczesnych kursów przedmałżeńskich i poradnictwa rodzinnego. Bp Pluta miał w sferze przygotowania do małżeństwa dobrze przemyślaną wizję strategiczną, która obejmowała wiele elementów, począwszy od wychowania maleńkich i starszych dzieci, poprzez kursy przedmałżeńskie i nauki przedślubne aż do duszpasterstwa małżeństw, łącznie z tworzeniem w parafiach elity rodzin katolickich, świadomie dążących do świętości poprzez życie rodzinne. Nie tylko miał wizję, ale faktycznie starał się wcielać ją w życie, m.in. opracowując potrzebne materiały dydaktyczne i szkoląc duchowieństwo i świeckich, co w latach sześćdziesiątych XX w. było wielką nowością. Bp Pluta brał aktywny udział w synodzie biskupów na temat rodziny w Rzymie w 1980 r. akcentując sprawę wnoszenia wartości Bożych w życie rodzinne. Po dziś dzień większość jego idei i wskazań w sferze duszpasterstwa rodzin pozostaje aktualnych.
Bishop Wilhelm Pluta (1910-1986) was one of the precursors of the modern pastoral care of families in Poland. He was interested in this subject already as a priest of the Archdiocese of Katowice, developing materials containing the structure and the content of premarital courses. The ideas developed in that period were the guidelines of his activities as bishop since 1958. He became the first chairman of the Episcopal Commission for Pastoral Assistance to Families (1965-1970), drawing „The first instruction of the Polish Episcopate for clergy about preparing the faithful to the sacrament of marriage and the pastoral care of families”. The most important achievements of Bishop Wilhelm Pluta in this area are the development of modern premarital courses and family counseling. Bishop Pluta presented a wellconsidered strategic vision in the area of marriage preparation, which included many elements, starting from education of children, through premarital courses up to the pastoral care of families, including the creation in parishes of the elite of catholic families, consciously striving for holiness in their family life. Not only had he the vision, but he actually put it into practice, by developing teaching materials and training clergy and lay people, which was a great novelty in those years. Bishop Pluta took an active part in the Synod of Bishops on the family in Rome in 1980, stressing the problem of bringing God’s values into family life. To this day, most of his ideas and guidelines in the field of pastoral care of families remain valuable.

Zło antykoncepcji nie opiera się tylko na jej wewnętrznym, obiektywnym nieładzie oraz wielu negatywnych skutkach ubocznych. Pomocne w jego zrozumieniu może być też zestawienie antykoncepcji z sakramentalną paralelą między małżeństwem a Eucharystią. Niniejszy artykuł dokonuje analizy porównawczej takich wymiarów więzi między oboma sakramentami jak: wymiar stwórczy i odkupieńczy miłości Bożej, dar osobowy poprzez cielesność, wymiar ofiarniczy, sakramentalna perspektywa znakowa oraz płodność (w szerokim tego słowa znaczeniu). Następnie, po zarysowaniu zasadniczego zła antykoncepcji, wskazuje na moralny nieład konkretnych środków czy technik sterylizacyjnych i antykoncepcyjnych, takich jak: wazektomia, stosunek przerywany, pigułka hormonalna (szerzej), prezerwatywa, wkładka wewnątrzmaciczna, spermicydy. Ten moralny nieład zawsze przedstawiony jest w odniesieniu do związku sakramentu małżeństwa z sakramentem Eucharystii.
The evil of contraception is based not only on its inner objective disorder and numerous negative side-effects. To better understand it may be helpful to compare it with the sacramental parallel between marriage and Eucharist. This article provides a comparative analysis of the following dimensions between these two sacraments: the creative and redeeming dimension of God’s love, the gift of self through body, the dimension of offering, the sacramental perspective of sign and fertility (in the broad sense). Next, the article outlines the basic evil of contraception and follows with the explanation of the moral disorder of specific contraceptives and contraception methods, such as vasectomy, the pull out method, the hormone pill (broadly), condoms, IUD, spermicides. This moral disorder is always presented in relation tothe communion between the sacrament of marriage and the sacrament of Eucharist.

Stała formacja prezbitera jest ostatecznie autoformacją. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia zagadnienie stałej formacji prezbitera do duszpasterstwa rodzin. Ukazuje istotę tej formacji, jej zasady, cele, zadania i formy realizacji. Źródła opracowania stanową oficjalne wypowiedzi Kościoła oraz literatura przedmiotu.
The permanent formation of priests for pastoral care of families is a continuation of seminary formation. It is one of the elements of pastoral identity of a priest and an urgent challenge of the new evangelization. The priestly formation is ultimately a self-formation. This article presents the issue of the permanent formation of priests for the pastoral care of families. It reveals the essence, principles, objectives of this formation, and methods for the implementation. The article is based on the official teaching of the Church and theological literature.

The article compares the teaching contained in the exhortation of John Paul II entitled Familiaris consortio and the exhortation of Pope Francis entitled Amoris laetitia. The subject taken for the comparison is preparation for marriage. The analysis of both exhortations has shown that Pope Francis uses a slightly different terminology regarding the same stages of formation. Francis uses the following rich images concerning the stages of preparation for marriage: “education of love”, “maturation of love” and “superiority of love”. Francis deepens the personalistic thought of John Paul II. The analysis shows the continuity of the pastoral concept present in both examined documents.

Artykuł przedstawia duszpasterską troskę Kościoła katolickiego o osoby, które zawarły małżeństwo sakramentalne, a następnie rozwiodły się i obecnie żyją w związkach niesakramentalnych. Czasem tworzą one ponowne małżeństwa cywilne, niekiedy żyją razem w związku przypominającym małżeństwo. Najpierw ukazano sytuację tychże osób w świetle nauczania Kościoła. Następnie zaprezentowano udział związków i małżeństw niesakramentalnych w życiu Kościoła pomimo ich skomplikowanej sytuacji małżeńskiej. Wreszcie przedstawiono praktyczne towarzyszenie duszpasterskie i rozeznawanie ze spowiednikiem odpowiedzialności moralnej osób rozwiedzionych żyjących w ponownych związkach przypominających małżeństwo. W trudnej sytuacji małżeńsko-rodzinnej Kościół pragnie ofiarować tym osobom swoją macierzyńską troskę, zrozumienie, jak również właściwą – zgodną z Pismem Świętym i nauczaniem Kościoła – pomoc duszpasterską. Po spełnieniu istotnych warunków może to skutkować udzieleniem sakramentów.
Some people, after break-up of their sacramental marriage, form informal unions with other partners; others contract civil marriage. This article is about pastoral care provided by the Catholic Church to divorced living in non-sacramental unions. The first part of the article presents the teaching of the Church on this matter. The next part describes the role of informal unions and non-sacramental marriages in the life of the Church. The rest of the article is devoted to pastoral practice and the role of confessor in recognising moral responsibility of divorced persons living in new unions resembling marriages. The Church understands them, extends a helping hand to them and offers pastoral assistance, in concord with the Scripture and her teaching. It may include sacramental assistance, after fulfilling necessary conditions.

Posynodalna adhortacja apostolska papieża Franciszka Amoris laetitia znalazła w Słowenii bardzo zróżnicowane przyjęcie. Po początkowej powściągliwości ze strony hierarchii kościelnej, od końca 2016 r. coraz wyraźniejsza staje się pozytywna recepcja tego dokumentu. Zdecydowana większość wierzących i ludzi zaangażowanych w działalność pastoralną dostrzega w Amoris laetitia odpowiedni impuls dla odnowy duszpasterstwa rodzin w Słowenii. W artykule zostały przedstawione niektóre racje przeciwstawnych reakcji – od zachwytu aż do sprzeciwu – w ramach recepcji papieskiego dokumentu i rozwinięte niektóre impulsy zawarte w Amoris laetitia dla duszpasterstwa w Słowenii.
Reactions to the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Amoris laetitia by Pope Francis have also been fiercely divided in Slovenia as elsewhere. Initially, the official Church showed reluctance towards it. However, there has been more and more signs of a positive reception since towards the end of 2016. A great majority of the believers and pastoral co-workers understood this exhortation as an appropriate incentive for the renewal of the pastoral care of the family in Slovenia. The article discusses some of the reasons for the opposing reactions to the document and tries to further develop some parts of the document to be used in the pastoral care of the family in Slovenia.

Celem artykułu jest ukazanie nierozerwalności małżeństwa sakramentalnego, która wynika stąd, że przez ten sakrament nowożeńcy zostali włączeni w trwałą jedność, jaka istnieje między Chrystusem i Kościołem, będącym Jego Mistycznym Ciałem. Jak Chrystus-Głowa i Kościół tworzą jeden, nierozerwalny organizm, tak i małżonkowie, uświęceni przez łaskę Chrystusa, stanowią aż do śmierci jedno nierozerwalne ciało. Małżeństwo sakramentalne jest zatem czymś więcej niż czysto ludzką umową i przyrzeczeniem wzajemnej miłości, choć nawet ludzka tylko przysięga domaga się spełnienia tego, co się obiecało. Raz dane słowo zobowiązuje do wierności obietnicy. Sama natura miłości wymaga trwałości małżeństwa. Najważniejszym zobowiązaniem wynikającym z przymierza małżeńskiego jest dochowanie wzajemnej wierności.
This article discusses the sacramental marriage indissolubility which comes from the fact that the spouses are permanently incorporated into the unity that binds Jesus Christ and the Church, his Mystical Body. In the same way that Christ – the Head and his Church are a singular, united organism, also the spouses with the help of the Divine grace are one body till death sets them apart. The sacramental marriage is more than just a civil contract and a promise of love (even though the civil contract and the promise of love alone would bind the both parties to fulfil what was pledged). A solemn declaration once made compels us to be faithful to the word that was given. The very nature of love demands the marital indissolubility. The fundamental task undertaken at the celebration of marriage is being faithful to the other spouse.

Opis:
Parenthood is an integral element of conjugal love, which in its unifying aspect manifests its dynamism ad intra, while in its procreative aspect it shows its dynamism ad extra. Living through the procreative dimension is a particularly difficult task for those spouses who experience the drama of infertility. This paper briefly discusses the problem of infertility faced by a significant number of married couples today. It points out that instead of using the term “infertility”, it is better to talk about reduced fertility. The paper also presents the spiritual, psychological and moral difficulties faced by spouses who cannot have biological children. These difficulties are at the same time challenges for the pastoral care of families. The way to overcome these difficulties is to refer to the holistic approach to human fertility and parenthood, which takes into account both the physical and spiritual dimension. In the Magisterium of the Church, this approach to parenthood is expressed in the terms “the genealogy of the person” (Letter to Families), “integral procreation” (The Family and the Human Procreation) and “an expanding fruitfulness” (Amoris laetitia in Latin: amplificata fecunditas). An attempt of practical realization of such an understood holistic approach to parenthood is used in naprotechnology and teaching of fertility recognition with the Creighton Model, the so-called SPICE instruction.
Rodzicielstwo jest integralnym elementem miłości małżeńskiej, która w aspekcie jednoczącym przejawia swój dynamizm ad intra, natomiast w aspekcie prokreacyjnym ukazuje dynamizm ad extra. Przeżywanie wymiaru prokreacyjnego jest szczególnie trudnym zadaniem dla tych małżonków, którzy doświadczają dramatu niepłodności. niniejszy artykuł omawia w skrócie problem niepłodności, z jakim mierzy się znaczna liczba współczesnych małżeństw. Zwraca uwagę, że zamiast używać terminu „niepłodność”, lepiej mówić o obniżonej płodności. Artykuł przestawia również trudności natury duchowej, psychologicznej i moralnej, przed jakimi stają małżonkowie, którzy nie mogą mieć biologicznych dzieci. Trudności te stanowią zarazem wyzwania dla duszpasterstwa rodzin. drogą przezwyciężenia tych zagrożeń jest odwołanie się do całościowego ujęcia ludzkiej płodności i rodzicielstwa, które uwzględnia zarówno wymiar cielesny, jak i duchowy. W Magisterium Kościoła takie ujęcie rodzicielstwa znajduje wyraz w określeniach „genealogia osoby” (List do rodzin), „prokreacja integralna” (Rodzina a ludzka prokreacja) oraz „płodność poszerzona” (Amoris laetitia, po łacinie: amplificata fecunditas). Próbą praktycznej realizacji tak rozumianego całościowego podejścia do rodzicielstwa jest stosowana w naprotechnologii i nauczaniu rozpoznawania płodności za pomocą Modelu Creighton tzw. instrukcja SPICE.

One of modern challenges facing not only politicians, economists or sociologists is the demographic makeup of Poland, which is a derivative of tendencies that are visible in the whole of Europe. Demographic changes are not leaving the Church unaffected. One has to take into account the decreasing number of children and the youth, who are the a major target of pastoral initiatives in Poland. The adult and elderly groups existing in the Church will grow, which will create a demand for new and adequate pastoral solutions for them. The pastoral care of families, elderly, lonely and sick will face special challenges. The article attempts to present the lines of development of activities conducted in the mentioned sectors of pastoral care which the Polish Church should pay attention to.

The Church concern for a family is expressed through pre-evangelization, evangelization and catechetic teaching. Family ministry is a tool to carry out this task. However, a family is also a subject of evangelization through performing prophetic, priestly and kingly functions. A family as a home church is the community where one learns how to live in diversity, to belong to others, where parents convey their faith (see EG 66). It is the source of various vocations.

Pope Francis, writing in the post-synod exhortation Amoris Laetitia on the subject of family difficulties, saw as one of the most important tasks for the Church to accompany spouses in crises, including those who experience the phase of an empty nest (Francis 2016, 235). This stage, distinguished by E. Duvall and other psychologists as a stage in the development of family life, starts at the moment when children leave the family home and undergo the process of separation from parents and full self-empowerment. The stage of an empty nest can be a difficult challenge for the marital relationship and individual well-being of the spouses. This involves a dramatic change in the role of parents and the reorganization of married life. Couples must at this stage learn a new style of living together, sharing and cooperating and rediscover each other. Therefore, it is also a considerable challenge and mission for the pastoral care of the Church towards marriages that are experiencing this stage. Accompanying the ecclesial community, which takes place through the pastoral care of the bond, cannot omit such an important space of family life. Therefore, the article aims to characterize the empty nest phase, highlight the most important factors supporting and hindering the experience of this stage, and attempt to formulate tasks for the pastoral care of families in the context of the papal document on family love Amoris Laetitia.
Papież Franciszek, podejmując w posynodalnej adhortacji Amoris laetitia tematykę trudności rodzinnych, dostrzegł jako jedno z ważnych zadań dla Kościoła towarzyszenie małżonkom w kryzysach, w tym także przeżywającym fazę pustego gniazda (Franciszek 2016, 235). Stadium to, wyróżnione przez E. Duvall i innych psychologów jako etap rozwoju życia rodziny rozpoczyna się w chwili, kiedy dzieci opuszczają dom rodzinny i przechodzą proces separacji od rodziców oraz pełnego usamodzielniania się. Etap pustego gniazda może być trudnym wyzwaniem dla relacji małżeńskiej i indywidualnego dobrostanu małżonków. Wiąże się to z dramatyczną zmianą roli rodzicielskiej oraz przeorganizowaniem życia małżeńskiego. Pary muszą na tym etapie nauczyć się nowego stylu współprzebywania, współdziałania i współdzielenia oraz na nowo odkryć siebie. Jest to zatem także niemałym wyzwaniem i misją dla pastoralnej troski Kościoła wobec małżeństw, które przeżywają owo stadium. Towarzyszenie wspólnoty eklezjalnej, dokonujące się przez duszpasterstwo więzi, nie może pominąć tak istotnej przestrzeni życia rodzinnego. Artykuł wobec tego stawia sobie za zadanie scharakteryzowanie fazy pustego gniazda, wyróżnienie najważniejszych faktorów wspierających i utrudniających przeżywanie tego etapu oraz podjęcie próby sformułowania zadań dla duszpasterstwa rodzin w świetle papieskiego dokumentu o miłości w rodzinie Amoris laetitia.

The challenges that pastoral care in Poland has to face today are not less numerous than at the time when it was established several dozen years ago. It seems that we should begin our survey of these challenges from inidicating a group of challenges that may be called challenges to marraige and family. Here we find that the structure of marriage as a relationship between heterosexual persons: a husband and wife is more and more commonly questioned; marriage is questioned as the foundation of family; the processes of marital disintegration increase, divorces and remarriages; free unions that last for years. The causes for this group of challenges as ideaological or practical. Another group of challenges consists of separation due to economic reasons, mainly going abroad to work. This causes the increasing process of marrital disintegration, rapid growth of social orphans, old parents and often ill are left unattended by their adult emigrating children. It follows from job problems that the competitive model of interpersonal relations is extrapolated on the marrital bond. We have to add the issues of psychological and physical violence in the family, abortion and calls to legalise euthanasia. A further group of challenges consists of those related to sexual activity. Contraceptive mentality and practices are popular, the phenomenon of marrital infertility is increasing, life is conceived beyond its natural and marrital milieu. In view of the above challenges, pastoral care for families in Poland should change its legal-moral categories of marriage and family iinto sociological and theological, it should purify the image of God from its anthropomorphic elements. It depends much on this image that man can understand himself and build his marrital relationship. Another important issue is to link theological knowledge and adequate aspects of the particular sciences. This link must be methodologically correct in pastoral care. Theological knowledge shows a model of marriage and family, whereas the particular sciences provide practical solutions how to accomplish this model. All this calls for an ordering of basic concepts of marriage and family, as there is much disorder there. Eventually, such actions should bring about milieus of support for the family that would make it easier to defend the principal Christian values.

The article presents the founding idea of pastoral care of families as a sub-field of practical theology as well as its significance for the saving work of the Church. The issue is presented in several stages. The starting point is a reflection on the notion and unique nature of pastoral care of families, then it is presented as a scientific discipline but also an important element of the saving activity of the Church focused on the family. Also, the main areas of concern are outlined. The highlight of the article is point 5 attempting to show the idea of having a textbook for family pastoral work, an aid that has never been conceived in Poland. In fact the presentation is not a mere outline but quite a concrete and detailed plan.
