    Opis:
    The paper investigates the sensitivity of safe ship control to inaccurate data from the ARPA anti-collision radar system and to changes in the process control parameters. The system structure of safe ship control in collision situations and computer support programmes exploring information from the ARPA anti-collision radar are presented. Sensitivity characteristics of the multistage positional non-cooperative and cooperative game and kinematics optimization control algorithms are determined through examples of navigational situations with restricted visibility at sea.

    Opis:
    W referacie rozważono, w ramach studium przypadku, zadanie ultradźwiękowego badania doczołowych austenitycznych złączy spawanych na zbiornikach ciekłego gazu terminalu LNG, w zakresie średnic do DN 60 m oraz zakresie grubości 10 ÷ 40 mm. Przedstawiono podstawowe problemy występujące przy ultradźwiękowym badaniu austenitycznych złączy spawanych o dużej grubości ziaren w spoinach. W ramach studium przypadku prześledzono dobór techniki badania - w oparciu o dostępną wiedzę, istniejące dokumenty normatywne i badania na reprezentatywnych próbkach złączy. Zaprezentowano plan badania obwodowych złączy spawanych zbiorników austenitycznych z wykorzystaniem konwencjonalnego ultradźwiękowego systemu badawczego, opartego na technice wielogłowicowej. Omówiony został sposób nastawiania zakresu pomiarowego i czułości badania na reprezentatywnej próbce odniesienia w postaci spoiny austenitycznej z reflektorami referencyjnymi przewidzianymi dla każdej strefy przeszukiwania. Przedstawiono również alternatywne nowoczesne rozwiązanie skanera z dwoma głowicami ultradźwiękowymi z podwójną matrycą phase-array typu PA DMA-TRL, współpracującymi z aparaturą sterującą lokalizacją i akwizycją wyników badania. Omówione zostały zalety nowoczesnej techniki badawczej. Prezentowane studium przypadku jest przykładem sformułowania założeń do przygotowania procedury badania obiektu dla technicznie ważnego i odpowiedzialnego zadania badawczego – ocena zgodności z wymaganiami złączy austenitycznych w zbiornikach magazynowych ciekłego gazu LNG.
    In paper, in a frame of case study, the ultrasonic inspection of austenitic girth butt welds in storage tank of LNG terminal for the range of diameter till 60 m and thickness range 10 ÷ 40 mm was studied. There are presented the fundamental problems arise by ultrasonic testing of austenitic coarse grained welds. The examination technique selection based on accessible knowledge, existing standards and tests on representative weld specimen is followed through in a frame of case study. It is presented the scan plan of testing the austenitic girth welds using conventional ultrasonic system, based on the multiprobe scanning. There is presented a range and sensitivity setting on reference block manufactured on the base of representative austenitic weld with reference reflectors dedicated to each area of interest of inspected weld volume. It is also presented the new modern solution of scanner with only two probes. Each of them is dual matrix phase –array probe working in pitch-catch mode and cold symbolic PA DMA-TRL. They are connected with phase-array apparatus controlled localization and acquisition of experimental data. There are discussed advantages such a modern examination technique reached highest level of NDT techniques. The presented case study is an assumption formulation example of examination procedure for technically important and responsible object - like assessment of requirements agreement with technical regulations for the austenitic welds in storage tanks of liquid gas LNG.

    Ductile iron was subjected to a total true strain (φt) of 0.3 either by applying φt in the austenite region or by apportioning it through applying a true strain of 0.2 in the austenite region before quenching to austempering temperature (TA) of 375°C, where a true strain of 0.1 is applied (ausforming). Additionally, two types of matrices were produced in the ductile iron, namely ausferritic and ferritic-ausferritic matrices. The ferrite is introduced to the matrix by intercritical annealing after austenitization. Dilatometric measurements as well as microstructure examination showed a fast ausferrite transformation directly after applying φA and that the introduction of ferrite to the matrix resulted in a remarkable acceleration of the ausferrite formation. The transformation kinetics, microstructure evolution, hardness and compression properties are studied.

    Opis:
    In this paper, a new technique for constructing low density parity check codes based on the Hankel matrix and circulant permutation matrices is proposed. The new codes are exempt of any cycle of length 4. To ensure that parity check bits can be recursively calculated with linear computational complexity, a dual-diagonal structure is applied to the parity check matrices of those codes. The proposed codes provide a very low encoding complexity and reduce the stored memory of the matrix H in which this matrix can be easily implemented comparing to others codes used in channel coding. The new LDPC codes are compared, by simulation, with uncoded bi-phase shift keying (BPSK). The result shows that the proposed codes perform very well over additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels.
