This paper presents numerical and semi-analytical solutions of oil velocity components and pressure distributions in spherical unsymmetrical gap of slide bearing. A hydrodynaŹmic unsteady lubrication during oil flow with viscoelastic properties is here considered. In the case of various driving systems on ships the bearings with spherical journals and spherical sleeves or slide bearings with spherical bits operate often under impulsive unsteady motions. Many impurities appearing in service leads to viscoelastic properties of the oil. During service of transport machines it is necessary to adjust the shaft location respective to the sleeve in order to make optimizing the convergent lubricating film possible. Such conditions are effectively satisfied in bearings with spherical journals. The presented numerical calculations were perforŹmed by means of the Mathcad 2000 Professional Program and the method of finite differences. This method satisfies stability conditions of numerical solutions of capacity forces occurring in spherical bearings.

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the occurrence of selected types of failures and the time and season of their occurrence in public transport buses in the city of Lublin. The analysis was carried out for buses operated in the Municipal Transport Company within the past 3 years. The chi-squared analysis showed that during operation, there are significant differences between the failures and the annual season, but there are no differences between the frequency of failures and the time of day.

The number of advanced driver assistance systems has increased dramatically in recent years. This led to a need for the development of testing methods to prove the quality and reliability of such systems. This publication presents an overview of the testing methods used in the automotive industry for the verification and validation of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), active safety, and autonomous driving systems. The first part presents the approach to X-in-the-loop testing such as model, software, hardware, etc., presenting the most interesting implementations. Then it discusses testing in proven areas like road traffic, artificial cities, and test tracks. The last part presents validation in the laboratory using both invasive and non-invasive methods based on virtual test drives, sensor stimulators and chassis dynamometers. Moreover, we identified the most promising approaches for the efficient verification and validation of ADAS, active safety and autonomous driving systems. Finally, we address some gaps in the research which require further investigation.
W ostatnich latach znacznie wzrosła liczba zaawansowanych systemów wspomagających kierowcę. Spowodowało to potrzebę opracowania metod testowania ich jakości i niezawodności. Artykuł przedstawia przegląd metod badawczych stosowanych w przemyśle motoryzacyjnym wykorzystywanych w weryfikacji i walidacji zaawansowanych systemów wspomagania kierowcy (ADAS), aktywnego bezpieczeństwa i systemów jazdy autonomicznej. W pierwszej części przedstawiono podejście do testów nazywanych testowaniem w pętli, takich jak model w pętli, oprogramowanie w pętli itd., prezentując najciekawsze implementacje. Następnie omówiono testy wykonywane na różnych terenach testowych, które mają udowodnić niezawodność i jakość systemu. Testowymi terenami mogą być tory testowe, sztuczne miasta czy drogi publiczne. W ostatniej części przedstawiono walidację wykonaną w laboratorium z wykorzystaniem metod zarówno inwazyjnych, jak i nieinwazyjnych, opartych na wirtualnych jazdach testowych, stymulatorach czujników i hamowniach podwoziowych. Ponadto zidentyfikowaliśmy najbardziej obiecujące podejścia do skutecznej weryfikacji i walidacji systemów ADAS, aktywnego bezpieczeństwa oraz jazdy autonomicznej. Na koniec wskazujemy potencjalne luki w tym temacie, które wymagają dalszych badań.

Artykuł przedstawia przegląd metod badawczych stosowanych w przemyśle motoryzacyjnym wykorzystywanych w weryfikacji i walidacji zaawansowanych systemów wspomagania kierowcy (ADAS), aktywnego bezpieczeństwa i systemów jazdy autonomicznej. W pierwszej części przedstawiono podejście do testów nazywanych testowaniem w pętli, takich jak model w pętli, oprogramowanie w pętli itd., prezentując najciekawsze implementacje. Następnie omówiono testy wykonywane na różnych terenach testowych, które mają udowodnić niezawodność i jakość systemu. Testowymi terenami mogą być tory testowe, sztuczne miasta czy drogi publiczne. W ostatniej części przedstawiono walidację wykonaną w laboratorium z wykorzystaniem metod zarówno inwazyjnych, jak i nieinwazyjnych, opartych na wirtualnych jazdach testowych, stymulatorach czujników i hamowniach podwoziowych. The paper presents selected technical solutions in the area of exhaust emissions research conducted in real operational conditions of a vehicle. The author describes his own road emissions research methodology with the use of information about the air flow supplying an engine (OBD II) and the measured volumetric shares of particular fumes components (exhaust gas analyser). Test results confirm the possibility of applying this measurement method, and their analysis shows the inadequacy of the type-approval tests compared to the real operation of the vehicle.
W pracy omawiane są wybrane rozwiązania techniczne w zakresie badań emisji spalin w warunkach rzeczywistej eksploatacji pojazdu. Autor opisuje własną metodykę drogowych badań emisji spalin z wykorzystaniem informacji o wydatku powietrza zasilającego silnik (OBD II) i zmierzonych udziałów objętościowych poszczególnych składników (analizator spalin). Wyniki badań potwierdzają możliwość stosowania opisanej metody pomiarowej, a ich analiza wskazuje ponadto na nieadekwatność testów homologacyjnych w odniesieniu do realnej eksploatacji pojazdu.

The paper discloses opportunities of how information recorded by on-board recorders of flight parameters can be used for investigation of avionic events. An example of the methodical approach is presented of how to verify data acquired from flight recorders, which unambiguously indicates the feasibility of further investigation and analyses of avionic events that may happen to aircrafts. Subsequently the effect of the engine stall is outlined, which enables analysis of those avionic events when the effect of engine(s) stall took place. The paper discloses two cases of avionic events when engine stall was the underlying reason of problems, i.e. when a helicopter entered a stream of exhaust gases produced by a missile launched by that helicopter and when icing of the intake channel occurred in a turbojet engine installed on a helicopter. Investigations of that type are indispensable due to operation constraints and technical conditions of aircrafts operations, where meeting these conditions is the principal requirements in terms of flight safety. This study confirms that opportunities to use data from on-board recorders of flight parameters to find out what was going on with the aircrafts during avionic events are considerable.

W artykule omówiono efekty własnych prac serwisowo-uruchomieniowych, dokonanych przeglądów i projektów w latach 2006-2010 na terenach kopalni górnictwa odkrywkowego KWB "Bełchatów" i KWB "Turów". Podczas ww. prac dokonano szeregu badań i analiz dotyczących zastosowanych rozwiązań zarówno w technice programistycznej, komunikacyjnej jak i systemach napędowych. Przedmiotem badań były wybrane maszyny systemu KTZ i ich warunki pracy. Bezpośrednio na tych obiektach przeprowadzono rozpoznania wstępne, analizę pomiarową oraz modyfikacje i opracowania nowych algorytmów. Analizy przeprowadzone w artykule obejmują głównie napędy elektryczne - falownikowe systemy napędowe i algorytmy sterowania silników napędów jazdy, obrotu i podnoszenia z wykorzystaniem czujnika prędkości oraz bezczujnikowe. Głównym celem prac było zapewnienie wysokiego poziomu niezawodności eksploatacyjnej zastosowanych rozwiązań poprzez ograniczenie drgań i wibracji powstających podczas pracy maszyn, a w konsekwencji poprawa zdolności ruchowej i bezpieczeństwa.
The article discusses the effects of our own service and start-up works, review and projects, carried out in years 2006-2010 in the areas of the of KWB "Bełchatów" quarry and KWB "Turów" quarry. While these work there were made several of studies and analysis of the solutions there were used in both the programming technique, communication and drive systems. Research was focused on the KTZ system machines and their working conditions. All this was supported by graphical verification. Studies carried out in the article consists mainly of inverter drive systems and drive motors control algorithms of the traverse, rotation and lift either using a speed sensor or sensorless. During the research, there was carried out several working tests at working mining machines, and modifications of control algorithms implemented for commercial inverter systems software, PLC and HMI systems responsible for the drive work of testing machine. The main purpose of all the work was reducing of jittering and vibration during machine operation and ensuring a high level of operational reliability of the solutions, improving of mobility and safety.

Artykuł prezentuje wyniki symulacji komputerowych nowych układów napędowych przeznaczonych do akumulatorowych lokomotyw kopalnianych o masie 12 ton. Analizy napędu dokonano z zastosowaniem silnika szeregowego prądu stałego, wykorzystywanego powszechnie w obecnie używanych lokomotywach oraz z silnikami prądu zmiennego asynchronicznym klatkowym i synchronicznym z magnesami trwałymi. Przedstawiono uzyskane na drodze symulacji parametry elektryczne i mechaniczne lokomotywy wyposażonej w powyższe typy napędów oraz dokonano porównania uzyskanych wyników. Przedstawione w artykule wyniki symulacji różnych typów układów napędowych lokomotywy pozwalają na dokonanie wyboru typu napędu podczas modernizacji lokomotyw kopalnianych.
The article features the results of a computer simulation of new driving systems designed for 12-tonnes accumulator mine locomotives. The analysis of the drive was conducted with the use of a DC series motor which is commonly applied in locomotives today and with the use of AC motors: an asynchronous squirrel cage motor and a synchronous motor with permanent magnets. The author presented the electrical and mechanical parameters, obtained in the course of the simulation, of a locomotive equipped with the above different types of driving systems. Then the results were compared. The presented simulation results of different locomotive driving systems allow to select a type of a driving system during the modernization of mine locomotives.

In the conceptual design of an ecological floating dock, has been assumed to be applied a roof system consisted of six movable segments whose aim is to shelter dock’s working space from environmental influence. The dock has to be also equipped with a gantry crane. Each of the devices is fitted with a traction system whose drive is the subject of this paper. The driving system consisted of synchronous electric motors with external frequency control of their rotational speed, is proposed. Such system may ensure the same rotational speed at both supports, unambiguously determined by voltage frequency and independent of load. The solution could make it possible to avoid dangerous skewing displacements of the structures on rail tracks during service. Additionally, a simplified procedure of determining the main loads necessary for calculation and selection of the devices and traction systems is also presented.

In the present paper, the results and experiences of testing different PEMS on the chassis dynamometer and on-road are presented. In the first part of work the measuring systems were installed on the same vehicle (Seat Leon 1.4 TSI ST) and the results were compared on the chassis dynamometer in the standard test cycles: NEDC, WLTC and CADC. in the second part of work the nanoparticle emissions of three Diesel cars were measured with PN-PEMS. PN-PEMS showed an excellent correlations with CPC in the tests on chassis dynamometer and it indicated very well the efficiency of DPF in eliminating the nanoparticles in real world driving.

Opis:
Pogarszające się warunki przewietrzania wyrobisk górniczych oraz przepisy dotyczące stosowania maszyn spalinowych w podziemiach kopalń w aspekcie bezpieczeństwa i ochrony zdrowia pracowników skłaniają do budowy maszyn i urządzeń zasilanych z akumulatorów. W większości dotychczasowych rozwiązań jako źródło zasilania stosowane są z reguły ogniwa kwasowo-ołowiowe. Obserwuje się również próby wdrażania układów zasilających bazujących na ogniwach litowych. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań laboratoryjnych ogniw litowo-żelazowo-fosforanowych umożliwiające stosowanie ich w przestrzeniach potencjalnie zagrożonych wybuchem metanu i pyłu węglowego. Zwrócono uwagę na bezpieczeństwo prowadzenia badań w zakresie m.in.: odporności ogniwa na zwarcie metaliczne na zaciskach, przeładowanie, nadmierne rozładowanie. W trakcie badań niszczących, badano skład gazów wydzielanych z ogniwa. Zaprezentowano możliwości zastosowania ww. ogniw w górnictwie węgla kamiennego.
Worsening ventilation in mine roadways as well as regulation concerning use of diesel mining machines in underground mines and protection of workers health force to design the mining machines supplied from batteries. In most solutions of electric drives, lead-acid batteries are used. Some attempts of implementation of electric drives based on lithium cell are observed. Results of laboratory tests of lithium-iron-phosphate cells as regards their use in atmosphere potentially threatened by methane and coal dust explosion hazard are presented. Some attention was paid for safety of conducting tests regarding the resistance to short circuit on terminals, overcharging and too much discharging. During destructive tests, composition of released gases was determined. Possibility of using the above-mentioned cells in the coal mining industry is discussed.

Opis:
The field of vehicular exhaust emissions is experiencing wide-ranging and rapid changes. Air quality is very high on the political agenda and pressure remains to limit and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the road transport sector. In addition to limits being increasingly stringent, the list of parameters subject to legal limits are slowly expanding – and, most importantly, these limits must be met under a wide wide range of conditions. A range of strategies are available to overcome these difficulties, which was explored during the 5th International Exhaust Emissions Symposium (IEES) hosted at BOSMAL in May 2016. This paper reports and summarises the topics of the 5th IEES and attempts a synthesis on the current status of the field and what the coming years may hold for the automotive and fuel industries and other allied fields.
