We develop and study in detail a new family of distributions called Half- logistic Odd Power Generalized Weibull-G (HLOPGW-G) distribution, which is a linear combination of the exponentiated-G family of distributions. From the special cases considered, the model can fit heavy tailed data and has non-monotonic hazard rate functions. We further assess and demonstrate the performance of this family of distributions via simulation experiments. Real data examples are given to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed model compared to several other existing models.

W artykule opisano próbę usprawnienia logistyki dystrybucji w przedsiębiorstwie branży kurierskiej, która umożliwiłaby skrócenie czasu oraz zredukowanie kosztów doręczenia przesyłek. Badania prowadzono na przełomie roku 2015/2016. Rozdział pierwszy zawiera wprowadzenie. Rozdział drugi zawiera analizę literatury i opis metod użytych w projekcie. Trzeci rozdział poświęcony jest analizie procesu przemieszczania przesyłek i określeniu jego etapów krytycznych. W tym rozdziale zaprezentowano także opracowaną propozycję rozwiązania usprawniającego, oraz porównanie jego wyników z sytuacją w firmie. Zbadano także ryzyko wystąpienia błędów podczas procesu wdrożenia rozwiązania. Ostatni rozdział zawiera podsumowanie pracy oraz wnioski. Analizowanym przedsiębiorstwem jest firma kurierska, znajdująca się w pierwszej dziesiątce największych firm tej branży w Polsce. Danymi wejściowymi do pracy są listy doręczeń kuriera tego przedsiębiorstwa z przeciągu tygodnia roboczego.
The purpose of this paper is an attempt to elaborate an improvement of the distribution logistics subsystem, which would provide decrease of delivery time and cost reduction. Research conducted at the turn of the year 2015/2016. The first chapter contains introduction. The second chapter contains literature analysis and description of method used during work on project. The third chapter is about analysis of parcels transportation process and selection of it’s critical stages. This part of chapter includes presentation of suggested improvement and comparisson of this solution and situation found in enterprise. It also contains the analysis of the risk of threats to the implementation process. In the last chapter there are summary and conclusions. The analyzed organization is a courier company, which is placed in top ten companies of polish courier services market. The project in this thesis is based on input data, which is courier delivery lists among the working week.

We focus on a specific sub-model of the proposed family that we call the new half logistic-Fréchet. This sub-model stems from a new generalisation of the half-logistic distribution which we call the new half-logistic-G. The novelty of proposing this new family is that it does not include any additional parameters and instead relies on the baseline parameter. Standard statistical formulas are used to show the forms of the density and failure rate functions, ordinary and incomplete moments with generating functions, and random variate generation. The maximum likelihood estimation procedure is used to estimate the set of parameters. We conduct a simulation analysis to ensure that our calculations are converging with lower mean square error and biases. We use three real-life data sets to equate our model to well-established existing models. The proposed model outperforms the well-established four parameters beta Fréchet and exponentiated generalized Fréchet for some real- -life results, with three parameters such as half-logistic Fréchet, exponentiated Fréchet, Zografos–Balakrishnan gamma Fréchet, Topp–Leonne Fréchet, and Marshall–Olkin Fréchet and two-parameter classical Fréchet distribution.

In this manuscript, a group acceptance sampling plan (GASP) is developed when the lifetime of the items follows odd generalized exponential log-logistic distribution (OGELLD), the multiple number of items as a group can be tested simultaneously in a tester. The design parameters such as the minimum group size and the acceptance number are derived when the consumer's risk and the test termination time are specified. The operating characteristic (OC) function values are calculated (intended) according to various quality levels and the minimum ratios of the true average life to the specified average life at the specified producer's risk are derived. The methodology is illustrated through real data.

Frailty models are the possible choice to counter the problem of the unobserved heterogeneity in individual risks of disease and death. Based on earlier studies, shared frailty models can be utilised in the analysis of bivariate data related to survival times (e.g. matched pairs experiments, twin or family data). In this article, we assume that frailty acts additively to the hazard rate. A new class of shared frailty models based on generalised Lindley distribution is established. By assuming generalised Weibull and generalised log-logistic baseline distributions, we propose a new class of shared frailty models based on the additive hazard rate. We estimate the parameters in these frailty models and use the Bayesian paradigm of the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) technique. Model selection criteria have been applied for the comparison of models. We analyse kidney infection data and suggest the best model.

The article discusses the general concept of a logistics center with the elements that compose it and describes its evolution over the years. Then, discussed it was the place that occupies the center of logistics and the role it plays in the context of supply chain operations. In addition, it contains information about the operating concept of logistic centers in the supply chain. The aim of this article is to characterize the three distribution centers in the province of Lodz: Panattoni Park Business Center Lodz in Lodz, Piotrkow City- Logistic Distribution Center in Piotrkow and SEGRO Logistics Park Stryków Stryków and analysis of the potential that they have centers located in the area of the province.

Opis:
Integrating different modes of transport (road, rail, air and water) is important for port cities. To accommodate this need, new transport hubs must be built such as airports or sea ports. If ports are to grow, they must be accessible, a feature which is best achieved by building new roads, including fast roads. Poland must develop a network of fast roads that will provide good access to ports. What is equally important is to upgrade the network of national roads to complement fast roads. A key criterion in this case is to ensure that the roads are efficient to minimise time lost for road users and safe. With safety standards and safety management practices varying vastly across the EU, Directive 2008/96/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council was a way to ensure that countries follow procedures for assessing the impact of road projects on road safety and conduct road safety audits, road safety management and road safety inspections. The main goal of the research was to build mathematical models to combine road safety measures, i.e. injury density (DI) and accident density (DA), with road and traffic factors on longer sections, all based on risk analysis. The practical objective is to use these models to develop tools for assessing how new road projects will impact road safety. Because previous research on models to help estimate injuries (I) or injury density (DI) on long sections was scarce, the authors addressed that problem in their work. The idea goes back to how Poland is introducing procedures for assessing the effects of infrastructure on safety and developing a method to estimate accident indicators to support economic analysis for new roads, a solution applied in JASPERS. Another reason for the research was Poland’s insufficient and ineffective pool of road safety management tools in Poland. The paper presents analyses of several models which achieved satisfactory results. They are consistent with the work of other researchers and the outcomes of previous research conducted by the authors. The authors built the models based on a segmentation of national roads into sections from 10 to 50 km, making sure that they feature consistent cross-sections and average daily traffic volumes. Models were built based on the method described by Jamroz (Jamroz, 2011). Using the available road traffic volume data, each section was assigned variables defining geometric and traffic features. Based on studies conducted on road sections, the variables were either averaged over the entire length of the section or calculated as a percentage of the variable occurring over the entire length: related to traffic volume, roadside environment or cross section.

Artykuł porusza problemy dotyczące zagadnień aproksymacji krzywych składu ziarnowego surowców mineralnych oraz wykorzystania ich wyników do określania powierzchni właściwej materiałów uziarnionych. W artykule zostały przedstawione teoretyczne uwarunkowania związane ze sposobami aproksymacji krzywych składu ziarnowego oraz wzory aproksymujące krzywe składu ziarnowego opisane rozkładami logarytmiczno-normalnym i logistycznym. Dokonano też aproksymacji dla wymienionych rozkładów. Przedstawiono też sposoby obliczania powierzchni właściwej materiałów drobno uziamionych z wykorzystaniem wyników aproksymacji za pomocą rozwinięcia w szereg potęgowy Taylora.
The article describes problems concerning matters of approximation of grain size curves of mineral raw materials and also ways of using these results for description of specific surface of grained materials. In the article there were presented theoretical conditions connected with manners of approximation of grain size curves and approximation formulas for grain size curves described by logarithmic-normal distribution and logistic distribution. It was also made an approximation of these distributions, as well ways of calculation of specific surface of fine grained materials with using Taylor's power sequence based on approximation results were presented.

The subject of this publication is the problem of distribution management, exemplified by Company X. The process has been defined by analysing the conditions necessary to satisfy prospects' needs and create the market position of a business entity. The paper focuses on the basic features of distribution system and the character of distribution channels.The assessment of distribution management has been illustrated with an example of Company X. The subjects of interest are: the dynamics of order flow, the delivery readiness rate, and the percentage of specific complaints in the structure of complaints in total between 2009 and 2011. The Pareto chart made it possible to diagnose the main causes of the highest percentage of complaints. As a result of research, the key improvement areas have been identified, the main ones being the functioning of order processing system and completion of deliveries.
Przedmiotem rozważań w niniejszej publikacji jest problematyka zarządzania procesem dystrybucji analizowana z perspektywy przedsiębiorstwa "X". Proces ten zdefiniowano poprzez pryzmat zaspokajania potrzeb potencjalnych klientów oraz kreacji pozycji rynkowej podmiotu gospodarczego, koncentrując się na podstawowych cechach systemu dystrybucji oraz specyfice znaczących w tym aspekcie kanałów. Ocenę zarządzania procesem dystrybucji przedstawiono na przykładzie przedsiębiorstwa "X". Przedmiotem badań była analiza dynamiki liczby zamówień, wskaźnika gotowości dostawczej, jak również wskaźnika udziału poszczególnych grup reklamacji w strukturze reklamacji ogółem przeprowadzona dla okresu badawczego 2009-2011. Implementacja wykresu Pareto-Lorenza umożliwiła diagnozę głównych obszarów generujących największy procent reklamacji. W efekcie prowadzonych badań zdefiniowano kluczowe płaszczyzny wymagające modernizacji w tym w szczególności funkcjonowanie systemu obsługi zamówień jak i trudności z zakresu fizycznego dostarczania produktów oraz kompletacji dostaw.

W artykule przedstawiono przykład lokalizacji własnych punktów dystrybucji metodą środka ciężkości. Na podstawie przeprowadzonej w artykule „Analiza potrzeb w obszarze dystrybucji jako etap projektowania sieci logistycznej na przykładzie wybranego producenta produktów drewnopochodnych” analizy badanego przedsiębiorstwa – wiodącego producenta produktów drewnopochodnych – w zakresie stosownych strategii działania oraz zasad współpracy w łańcuchu dostaw, określono potrzeby w obszarze dystrybucji. W ramach zaproponowanych rozwiązań wskazano możliwość lokalizacji własnego punktu dystrybucji oraz planowanie kolejnych etapów procesu projektowania elementów sieci. Całość zakończono wnioskami.
In the article an example of the location of own distribution points applying the method of center of gravity was presented. On the basis of the article "Analysis of requirements in the distribution as a stage of logistic network design for the selected manufacturer of wood based products," where selected company in terms of appropriate strategy and the principles of cooperation in the supply chain were analyzed – needs in the area of distribution were identified. As part of the proposed solutions the possibility to locate their own point of distribution and planning the next steps in the design process of network elements were indicated in this article . The whole was completed with conclusions.
