    Opis:
    In the article there were analyzed the legal norms concerning shrines included in common law and particular law of the diocese of Kalisz. The Author noticed that the shrines are sacred places to which people make pilgrimage and have lots of functions, this is why the legislator of the First Synod of Diocese of Kalisz, which took place in 2007-2009, regulated this issue in particular law. The Author presented the term of „shrine” and indicated material and formal element. The legislator in the Code distinguished a diocesan shrine, a national shrine and an international shrine, while the legislator in diocese of Kalisz made different classification. The Author indicated what the statutes of the shrine should regulate in particular to efficiently administrate the shrine, there was also presented the authority competent to approve these statutes. There were presented functions of the shrine curator, who is head a shrine.

    Opis:
    All social strata of the Poles both from the Kingdom of Poland, Lithuania and Belarus took part in the national uprising in 1863. The Catholic diocesan and monastic clergy also joined this extraordinary uprising. In the Diocese of Kujawy and Kalisz, 94 out of 422 priests were directly repressed in various ways for their patriotic and national activities. Many of them were sentenced to hard labour in Siberia, to settlement in distant regions of the empire, imprisonment, fi nes and surveillance. This repression hampered the realization of the mission of the Church, but did not break its will and spirit in the struggle for the rights of the Nation.

    Changes in the church organization on Polish soil were caused by political considerations (partitions). The Diocese of Kujawy and Pomerania, that is Włocławek, maintained its unity, despite political cordons, after the first partition of Poland, at the time of the Duchy of Warsaw and in the initial period after the Congress of Vienna (at the time of so-called Kingdom of Poland). Diocesan boundaries in the areas which formerly were part of the Polish Republic were reorganized following the diplomatic efforts of the occupying countries, especially Russia and Prussia, in the Holy See. They invoked so-called Petersburg Convention, which unilaterally stated that a hierarch who had his seat in one country could not exercise ecclesiastical jurisdiction in another state. The Bull Ex imposita Nobis of June 30, 1818 delimited new diocesan boundaries in the Kingdom of Poland. 272 former parishes of the Archdiocese of Gniezno and 15 parishes from other dioceses were added to 45 parishes from the old territory. The Bull gave the diocese a new name: "Włocławek, or Kalisz." The final shape of the diocese in 1818 was determined by the executor, Franciszek Skarbek Malczewski, a former Bishop of Włocławek, who became the first Archbishop of Warsaw. The new spatial arrangement of the diocese was completely different from the old boundaries. Before the reorganization, the diocese was oriented towards the north and it reached the Baltic Sea; after the changes,  it stretched far to the south, beyond Czestochowa. At a time of national slavery, the Diocese of Kujawy and Kalisz was the largest one in the Kingdom of Poland (after regaining independence by Poland it had 1,614,000 of the faithful, covering 390 parishes and 39 deaneries). It was not until Poland regained its independence that new diocesan boundaries were delimited.

    There has been almost no source research on the books of benefice (libri beneficiorum) of Polish dioceses dating back to the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the early modern period in Polish historiography, the only exception being Jan Długosz’s book of benefice. Given the significance of these sources for studying a wide array of historical problems, the lack of research on those mentioned above is a serious omission. The article attempts to fill this gap, focusing on a text about the archdeaconry of Kalisz (the creation of this document, its storage and function) included in liber beneficiorum of the diocese of Gniezno, drawn up on the orders of Archbishop Jan Łaski in the 1520s and early 1530s. The paper is narrow in scope and only attempts to address certain basic issues. The study of the problems mentioned above was based on the well-known description of the archdeaconry of Kalisz and information from other sources: consistory and chapter records, and the other volumes of Jan Łaski’s Liber Beneficiorum, including the Łęczyca and Łowicz draft. In addition, other essential sources for the following study are the copies of the description relating to St Michael’s Parish in Dobrzec (currently part of Kalisz), coming from the hitherto unknown description of the Kalisz archdeaconry of the Gniezno Book of Benefice. These copies are discussed more extensively and their edition is included in the appendix. The article proposes hypotheses regarding the organization of work on Łaski’s book of benefice, the methods of the text’s preparation, and the function of the book over the first hundred years of its existence.
    Badania źródłoznawcze nad księgami uposażeń beneficjów (libri beneficiorum) polskich diecezji z przełomu średniowiecza i czasów nowożytnych są właściwie nieobecne w polskiej historiografii. Jedynym wyjątkiem jest księga uposażeń autorstwa Jana Długosza. Sytuacja ta jest istotnym brakiem, wziąwszy pod uwagę znaczenie tych źródeł dla badania całego szeregu problemów historycznych. Niniejszy tekst stanowi próbę zmiany tego stanu. Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza zagadnienia powstania, przechowywania i funkcjonowania tekstu opisu archidiakonatu kaliskiego z libri beneficiorum diecezji gnieźnieńskiej, spisanego z polecenia arcybiskupa Jana Łaskiego w ciągu drugiej i na początku trzeciej dekady XVI wieku. Tekst ma charakter przyczynkowy i stanowi próbę poruszenia pewnych podstawowych zagadnień. Studium wspomnianych problemów przeprowadzono na bazie powszechnie znanego tekstu opisu archidiakonatu kaliskiego, a także informacji z innych źródeł: zapisek konsystorskich, kapitulnych i porównania z innymi tomami księgi uposażeń Jana Łaskiego, w tym brudnopisem łęczycko-łowickim. Jednym ze źródeł i istotnym elementem studium jest wykorzystanie odpisów tekstu opisu parafii św. Michała w Dobrcu (obecnie część Kalisza), pochodzących z nieznanego dotychczas egzemplarza kaliskiej części gnieźnieńskiej księgi uposażeń. Z tego względu poświęcono im więcej miejsca i w aneksie opublikowano ich edycję. W artykule postawiono wstępne hipotezy co do organizacji prac przy zbieraniu informacji do księgi uposażeń Łaskiego, metod opracowania tekstu oraz funkcjonowania księgi w ciągu pierwszych 100 lat od jej sporządzenia.
