This research aims to explore the development of architectural theories about ‘ar- chitectural dimensions’ and look at architecture as a multidimensional space. It is important to understand that with today's development of virtual reality technolo- gy and through the combination of theories of physics and architecture, a new possibility of creating space has emerged. The arguments are made through inductive reasoning and grounded theory approach. According to the M-theory (one of the contemporaneous leading physics theories), physics suggests a world with 11 dimensions. A question could be asked in this way that should architecture be perceived whether as subjective or objective? Therefore, the theoretical arguments have been focused on three parameters of ‘Subjectivity’, ‘Time’, and ‘Reality’. These parameters are the joint integration of the theories in architecture and quantum physics about dimensions. This representation is justified by the demonstration of identical theoretical attributes that are manifested both in the continuum of ‘quantum architecture’ and ‘quantum realm’. On this basis, the dimensions counted for the status quo of architecture would be 1. ‘Physical and Virtual Creatress of Space’ (Physical/Virtual depth, edge, and ceiling height) or a space of mixed reality (real world merged with virtual reality); 2. ‘Active Architecture’ (corpora- tion of Relative and External time in the creation of Physical/Virtual Dynamism); and 3. ‘Smart Engagement of Experiential Dimensions’ (interactive mental, sensorial, and corporeal engagements based on local and non-local realities). These three factors account for ‘Reality’, ‘Time’, and ‘Subjectivity’, respectively. In the end, ‘Eleven-Dimensional Architecture’ would be introduced. Examples of this kind of architecture could be found in smart architecture with mixed reality settings.

TEU number which the container ship is designed for, directly influences the main hull dimensions that is displacement D, length L, breadth B, draught T, their combinations and block coefficient delta. The main dimensions have a great impact on developing the ships resistant performance. Thus, it is really fundamental to establish the correct dimensions of the hull during the design and ship building process. Estimating the shape of the ships hull, that comprises its main dimensions, is one of the basic tasks as part of the preliminary design stage. The most significant decisions determining ships performance, its duration and building costs are made at the beginning of the preliminary stage, before the contract is signed, when the costs are relatively low, up to 4.5% of total costs of technical and working stage. The results of the decision that has been made at the preliminary design stage are significant for the new building ship including its building costs and what is more important, for the ship owner, the ships operational costs. It is important to limit the total ship resistance, for instance, by lowering the wave ship resistance as much as possible, especially when the operational speed and TEU number carried by one vessel is increasing. That resistance depends on the operational speed expressed by Froude number. The resistance criteria and the existing hull dimensions limits, resulting from ships route, must be taken into consideration bearing in mind safety conditions such as ships stability and seaworthiness, when the main ships dimensions are being determined.

Pojęcia wartości i religijności wydają się ze sobą powiązane, zarówno na poziomie strukturalnym, jak i funkcjonalnym. Wartości, będąc czynnikami motywacyjnymi, mogą wpływać na strukturę religijności i określać jej charakter. Jednocześnie religia - jako system pojęć i standardów zachowań - dostarcza stabilnego oparcia dla hierarchii wartości. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zbadanie powiązań wartości z poznawczymi i społecznymi wymiarami religijności, a także określenie charakteru i siły tych relacji. Badania przeprowadzono wśród 247 osób (kobiety i mężczyźni) w wieku 18-56 lat. W badaniach zastosowano trzy narzędzia: Skalę Wartości Schelerowskich, Skalę Przekonań Postkrytycznych oraz Skalę Centralności Religijności. Rezultaty badania wskazują na związki systemu wartości z poznawczym i społecznym funkcjonowaniem jednostki w zakresie życia religijnego. Wartości hedonistyczne wiążą się ze stylem myślenia charakteryzującym się krytycznym podejściem do treści religijnych i relatywnym rozumieniem zagadnień transcendentnych, a także z intensywnością praktyk religijnych i form kultu. Wartości święte, religijne i patriotyczne związane są ze stylem myślenia odznaczającym się stabilnością i akceptacją treści religijnych, ale także z refleksyjnym podejściem do rzeczywistości transcendentnej. Istotnym rezultatem badań było wskazanie, że system wartości jest silniej związany ze społecznymi niż poznawczymi wymiarami religijności.
Understanding the complex relationships between values and religiosity may provide a better understanding of what is the role of values in social life and what it means to be religious. Values express what people believe to be good or bad, and what they think should or should not be done. Similar aspects of normative behaviour can be found in religion which can imply mutual connections. This article focuses on the issue of relationships between values and religiosity from cognitive and social perspectives. The study involved 247 subjects (women and men) aged 18-56. Three scales were employed to conduct the research: Post-critical Beliefs Scale, Centrality of Religiosity Scale, Scale of Scheler’s Values. The results confirmed strong relations between the values system and religiosity dimensions. Both cognitive and social dimensions of religiosity are connected with value systems. People who are more committed to religion attribute relatively lower importance to values that express the motivations to follow one’s sensuous hedonistic desires, and the motivation to care about vitality. At the same time they attribute relatively high importance to sacred values both in the aspects of religion and secularity. Regression analyses results revealed an interesting issue regarding internal structure of religious life: values are related to social dimensions of religiosity stronger than cognitive ones.

Shape is one of the key discriminating factors in seeds. It plays a major role in seed cleaning and sorting, and it influences the bulk behavior of seeds. The shape of seeds can be described with the use of sphericity factors. In this study, the thickness, width, length and mass of principal cereal seeds (wheat, rye, barley, oats and triticale) were determined. The geometric parameters of seeds were used to calculate five sphericity factors for each seed type. The results of measurements and calculations were processed statistically by analysis of variance, correlation analysis and linear regression analysis. In the group of the analyzed cereal seeds, the lowest values were noted for sphericity factor K5 in the range of 0.046 to 0.275, and the highest values - for sphericity factor K3 in the range of 0.359 to 0.650. The shape of cereal seeds was mostly highly correlated with: thickness in barley seeds, width in wheat seeds, width and thickness in rye and triticale seeds, and length in oat seeds. All of the analyzed sphericity factors can be used interchangeably to describe the shape of cereal seeds, and the relationships between those factors can be described with linear equations.

The aim of the paper is to present the results of an analysis of the “Chinese Soup” comic sketch performed by the Polish “Ani Mru Mru” comedy group. The text shows in a very condensed way the (auto-, hetero- and meta-) stereotypes dealing with the culture perce- ived as the most distant one. The oppositions between Asian and European cultures be- long to the most often debated issues in a period when the cultures have morę opportuni- ties than ever to melt and meet. The appearance of new characters in the discussed genre is only a reflection of larger changes and a growing interest in oriental cultures.The theoretical framework is based on the concept of cultural dimensions (Kluckhohn, Strodtbeck 1961; Hofstede 2000; Trompenaars, Hampden-Tumer 2002) and language and cultural relations (Duszak 1998; Kramsch 1998; Wierzbicka 1999). The study of humor was conducted with the use of tools proposed in the semantic theory of humor (Raskin 1985) and in the generał theory of verbal humor (Attardo 1994).The major features present in the humorous text may be divided into three groups. The first one is connected with the language which is perceived as very difficult and incom- prehensible, and totally different from the Polish language or any other European language. The second focuses on differences in manners - especialły food habits. The third ca- tegory pinpoints visual differences and strangeness.

Opis:
This paper deals with the problem of optimization of a thin-walled open section I-beam loaded in a complex way, subjected to the bending, torsion and constrained torsion. A general case of bending moments about two centroidal axes, the torsion and the bimoment acting simultaneously, is derived and then some particular loading cases are considered. The problem is reduced to the determination of minimum mass, i.e. minimum cross-sectional area of structural thin-walled beam elements of the chosen shape for the given complex loads, material and geometrical characteristics. The optimization parameters have been determined by Lagrange’s multipliers method. The area of the cross-section has been selected as the objective function. The stress constraint is introduced and used as the constraint function. The obtained results are used for numerical calculation.
Wpracy zajęto się zagadnieniem optymalizacji cienkościennej belki o otwartym przekroju dwuteowym poddanej złożonemu stanowi obciążenia, tj. zginaniu i skręcaniu przy narzuconym warunku na naprężenia ścinające. Rozważono ogólny przypadek momentów gnących działających względem osi centralnych przekroju przy jednoczesnym obciążeniu skręcaniem oraz bimomentem, a następnie przedyskutowano przypadki szczególne. Problem optymalizacji zredukowano do zadania minimalizacji masy przekroju belki dla zadanego kształtu, charakterystyk materiałowych oraz rodzaju obciążenia. Parametry optymalizacji wyznaczono metodą mnożników Lagrange’a. Na funkcję celu wybrano pole przekroju dwuteownika. Do opisu brzegu obszaru optymalizacji użyto funkcji więzów stanu naprężenia. Otrzymane wyniki posłużyły za podstawę do przeprowadzenia symulacji numerycznych.

The main dimensions and their relations concerned with the TEU number of the contemporary container carriers have been presented in the article along with selection methodology of ships main dimensions.
Liczba kontenerów TEU (Twenty foot Equivalent Units) dla której zaprojektowany jest kontenerowiec bezpośrednio wpływa na główne wymiary kadłuba statku, w tym wyporność D, długość L, szerokość B, zanurzenie T, ich kombinacje i współczynnik pełnotliwości kadłuba 8. Główne wymiary mają duży wpływ na opór statku i rozwój jego osiągów. Jakakolwiek zmiana w każdym z głównych wymiarów powoduje zmianę współczynnika pełnotliwości kadłuba 8 i wpływa na całkowity opór statku. A zatem jest sprawą zasadniczą ustalenie właściwych wymiarów kadłuba w procesie projektowania i budowy statku. Oszacowanie kształtu kadłuba statku, na który składają się jego główne wymiary jest jednym z podstawowych zadań części wstępnej projektu. Najbardziej znaczące decyzje określające osiągi statku, czas budowy i jej koszty są podejmowane na początku etapu wstępnego, przed podpisaniem kontraktu, gdy koszty są jeszcze niskie, dochodzące do 4.5% całkowitych kosztów projektowych i wykonawczych. Rezultaty tej decyzji podjętej w fazie projektu wstępnego są znaczące dla nowobudowanego statku, wliczając w to koszty jego budowy i, co jest ważniejsze dla właściciela statku, jego koszty eksploatacyjne. Ważnym jest by ograniczyć opór całkowity kadłuba, przykładowo, przez ograniczenie oporu falowego kadłuba jak tylko jest to możliwe, szczególnie gdy prędkość eksploatacyjna i liczba TEU kontenerów zabieranych przez jeden statek rosną. Opór ten jest zależny od prędkości eksploatacyjnej, wyrażonej liczbą Frouda Fn. Kryterium oporu i istniejące ograniczenia w wielkości kadłuba wynikające z tras rejsów muszą być rozważone przy określaniu głównych wymiarów statku, biorąc pod uwagę warunki bezpieczeństwa takie jak stateczność statku i jego dzielność morska. Główne wymiary i zależności pomiędzy nimi dotyczące liczby TEU współczesnych kontenerowców zostały przedstawione w artykule, wspólnie z metodologią wyboru głównych wymiarów statku.

The aim of this study is to define the essence of wellbeing in employee management, and present the functionality of the PERMA model in positive psychology. The first part of the study describes the multidimensionality of the concept of wellbeing and the difficulties in defining it. An important element of the conducted analysis is the presentation of the positive effects of the implementation of wellbeing in organisations, including elements of wellbeing dimensions and activities affecting wellbeing, while the most important part of the article is the diagnosis of the applicability of the PERMA model in the study of employee wellbeing and positive education. Different elements of the model are described and the latest solutions with regards to its improvement are presented. An analysis of the literature showed that a model with four additional dimensions - physical health, mindset, work environment and economic security - may be the most useful for analysing employee wellbeing. The next part of this publication is devoted to the use of the PERMA model in the classification of interventions, where we show that the model not only enables diagnosis of the weaknesses of wellbeing, but even facilitates the assigning of specific interventions. These solutions make it possible to build wellbeing that positively impacts employee behaviour, with the authors indicating discrepancies in the activities undertaken by organisations and the needs of employees with regards to wellbeing. The findings suggest that employees expect activities related to the development of their mental dimension and economic security, not necessarily related to physical health, which are most commonly implemented by organisations.

The article argues that the goal of business is to increase profit, but it also recognizes that proper relationships must exist between the entrepreneur and employees, customers, the state, and society at large. These relationships are deemed necessary for business to occur, and additional relationships, such as those with contractors, the media, and the natural environment, may also be relevant. The ethical aspects of business are inseparable from the ethical problems present in society. Undesirable behaviors within business activities are discussed as morally reprehensible, affecting both business conduct and generating moral dilemmas within society. Economic issues are noted as playing a significant role in contemporary society, often becoming modern idols. Consequently, there is a growing call for proper ethical conduct in the business world to address these concerns and ensure the common good. The article highlights that answers within the realm of business ethics are influenced by researchers' ethical and economic perspectives. The distinction between entrepreneurs and managers is emphasized, with the latter often assuming entrepreneurial roles. This separation raises concerns regarding the alignment of owners' moral obligations with the goals and commitments of managerial staff. Shareholder interests, primarily focused on profit maximization, sometimes overshadow ethical considerations.

The aim of the research was to verify whether there exists a relationship between the increase of perceived stress in its various aspects and the parental attitudes of parents of adults with intellectual disabilities as well as a comparison if the relationship also exists among parents of intellectually healthy people. The research used the The Perception of Stress Questionaire by Mieczysław Plopa and Ryszard Makarowski and the Parental Attitudes Scale by Mieczysław Plopa. The research embraced 39 parents of intellectually disabled people and 85 parents of healthy people. The analyses have proven that the parents of the disabled people and of the people without intellectual disabilities with regards to the displayed parental attitudes and the level of the perceived stress. The former are characterized by an intensifi cation of a demanding attitude and a higher level of perceiving the intrapsychic stress which was not observable among the latter. Moreover, differences with regards to the perceived stress have been noticed between the mothers and the fathers of healthy people – the mothers reveal a stronger feeling of emotional tension than the fathers. Similar it proved among the mothers and fathers of intellectually disabled people where it is also mothers who experience stronger emotional tension, intrapsychic and external stress. In the light of the conducted studies a general conclusion may be drawn that the level of the stress perceived by the parents of the people with disabilities is signifi cantly connected with their displayed parental attitudes, namely: protectiveness, inconsequence. In case of the parents of the healthy people such a relationship concerned only the protective attitude.

Preliminary ship owner's assumptions for new ship consist of deadweight, speed-shipping line and others. Taking it as a base, in early stage of design one has to select propulsion type. This goal needs definition of principal dimensions of a vessel, which are the base for further calculations of hull’s resistance and evaluation of necessary power of main engine to fulfil shipping requirements. Selection of main dimensions of vessel is limited by rules regarding buoyancy, stability, hull strength, manoeuvring capability, and limitations related to seaways or harbours characteristic. In this article is presented the methodology of calculation of principal parameters of a vessel, necessary for calculation of displacement in relation to vessel’s type, volumetric coefficients, Froude number, and others values affecting ship’s dimensions. It is about midship section coefficient, waterline coefficient, prismatic coefficient. Those values are necessary for calculation of hull resistance. In the article, are presented major constraints for designing of new vessels coming from ship-owner assumptions such as seafaring limitations. In the table is presented comparison of results of calculations above-mentioned values of three type of vessels representing same displacement. There are also presented different calculation methods of transverse midship section coefficient and wet area coefficient, for 3 types of vessels (container vessel, bulk carrier and tanker with displacement of 120000 t.

In this paper empirical formulas relating the speed to principal dimensions of aircraft carriers have been obtained through regression analysis of the data of 105 aircraft carriers. To reduce uncertainty as much as possible, aircraft carriers are classified into several different categories. In each category, regression analysis is separately performed such that a variety of regression (empirical) formulas have thus been obtained for possible use at the initial design stage of a carrier. The goodness of fit of these formulas is finally analyzed through variance analysis.

Opis:
The article presents two studies validating the dimensional model of parenting by Skinner, Johnson, and Snyder (2005). This model synthesizes various constructs related to parent-child relations from the recent literature. On the basis of a broad literature review, this model distinguishes three conceptual dimensions:warmth – rejection, structure – chaos, and autonomy support – coercion. Skinner et al. (2005)’s model was intended to integrate a number of theoretical constructs of parent-child relations. Thus, the distinguishability of its constituent parts is key. The following article describes a validation of the model in Poland. The first study was carried out on a sample of 969 adolescents, and the second – on a sample of 269 parents. In the adolescent sample, the measurement model achieved a good fit to data, but the individual constructs were highly intercorrelated, which weakened the rationale for distinguishing them. In the parent sample, high correlations between the constructs led to a poor fit to data. Thus, only a general measure of parent-child relation quality was obtained. A bi-factor analysis was also ran to determine the role of specific factors generated alongside the general factor. The validation was a partial success in the parent sample, for which a short version of the questionnaire measuring warmth, structure, and autonomy support was developed.

In the article, the authors point to the importance of different dimensions in the employee engagement process. Attention was paid to such determinants influencing the engagement that are most often presented in foreign literature. The publication presents a list of elements shaping the employee's engagement, which were mentioned in the subject literature and presented in selected studies. The aim of this publication is to indicate what dimensions of engagement are most often given by the authors of scientific research and whether the dimensions of engagement indicated in the theoretical studies are reflected in scientific research.

The paper presents general rules for calculations of ship’s hull principle dimensions at preliminary stage of design process. There are characterized and defined basic assumptions of design process and limitations for calculations of dimensions and some criteria numbers. Limitations are an outcome of shipping routes what is related to shipping restrictions, diminishing of hull drag, achieving of required strength of hull and safety of shipping requirements. Shipping limitations are because of canals and straits dimensions or harbours drafts. In order to diminish propulsion power, what is related to economically justified solution, selected form and dimensions of hull must ensure minimizing of resistance, including skin friction and wavemaking resistance. That is why proper selection of coefficients of hull shape and dimensional criteria according to ship owner’s requirements i.e. deadweight (DWT) or cargo capacity (TEU), speed and seakeeping. In the paper are analyzed dimensional constraints due to shipping region, diminishing of wavemaking and skin friction resistance or application of Froude Number, ships dimensional coefficients (block coefficient, L/B, B/T, L/H) and coefficients expressing relations between capacity and displacement. The scope of applicability above presented values for different modern vessels construction were analyzed.
