uremia - Opis:
- New researches confirm that nutrition, along with modern therapeutic procedures, is of great im- portance for the optimal treatment of chronic renal insufficiency. Necessary is the reduction in total protein intake based on the level of renal function. Low protein diets can reduce uremic symptoms in non-dialysis patients with chronic renal failure and can slow down the progression of renal insuffi- ciency in patients with chronic renal insufficiency. At present, protein-restricted diets are used in con- junction with a nutritional therapist. Long-term administration of low-protein diet is contraindicated in patients with end-stage chronic renal failure, with uremic complications, with severe signs of urine retention and electrolytes and with poor compliance with low-protein diet. A low-protein diet with ketoanalogs can not only stabilize renal function but also has a beneficial effect on blood pressure, proteinuria, lipid profile and calcium phosphate metabolism. Depending on the size of diuresis, blood pressure, sodium and fluid balance and potassium levels, the maximal intake of fluids, sodium and potassium should be considered.
