Opis:: The article is a summary of dozen-year experience of workers researching at Institute of Electrical Machines of Warsaw University of Technology and at Institute of Power Engineering. The professional experience has been related to technical diagnosis of engines, generators and energetic transformers. The authors form postulates to constructors and electrical machine creators. The aim of these statements is to prepare the devices suitably to be able to conduct efficient diagnostics offline as well as online. Even though the diagnostics has been taken into consideration what has succeeded in an improvement , services of motion maintenance and technical supervision have still been encountering numerous problems connected with receiving signals needed in the process of creating the right diagnosis. Crucial difficulties appear every time when the examined machine junctions are tried to be reached or appropriate sensors are installed, etc. The analysis has been done with the connection of types of signals listed below: vibration, electromagnetic, thermal.

Opis:: Fault diagnosis is currently a target of wide research activities. There is large number of diagnostic methods based on various source of diagnostic signal, signal processing and data evaluation approach. Stator current is traditional diagnostic signal for fault detection of induction machines. Monitoring of this signal is mainly effective in case of diagnosis of broken rotor bars and rings. However, analysis of external magnetic field appears to be more powerful in case of rotor eccentricity detection. The measurement system based on LabVIEW platform is now presented and it includes both stator current and external magnetic field analysis.

Opis:: There are many problems in practical diagnostics of machines operated in industrial conditions. Those problems make diagnostics difficult. They appear at the time of getting diagnostic signals ( accessibility of signals and disturbances). Next step is diagnostic analysis of registered signals for investigated objects. The main problem at this step is proper interpretation of gotten results, especially in the cases where determination of state of investigated objects is hard and ambiguous. The hardness and ambiguity can be expressed by a question, where the presence of diagnostic signal is caused by damage or by an asymmetrical construction of rotor cage? Using the experience acquired during measuring and analysis work the authors would like to report on practical diagnostics of induction machines in industrial conditions.

Opis:: Results of numerical modeling of squirrel-cage asynchronous motor with rotor circuit damages are presented in the paper. Possibilities of machine state rating in normal exploitation, based on the moving RMS signal and also proposed motor drive state estimation factors are also included. For modeling of the machine and proposed algorithm, the original program solution based on built C++ class library had been used. It had been shown, that the application of currents and voltages symmetry estimation factors and moving RMS currents and voltages diagrams oscillation estimation factors provides the identification of damage location. Analysis of proposed factors values makes the basis for indicating of damage location - either the supply source, or the stator circuit, or the rotor circuit asymmetry. Modeled damages have shown that not only the number of damaged rotor bars, but especially their symmetry in the rotor circuit has relevant meaning. Presented simulation results are being used for testing of proposed algorithms and building of a diagnostic device, based on Analog Devices SHARC 21065L processor.

Opis:: This paper presents an attempt of the economic assessment of high voltage squirrel-cage induction motors diagnosis. Costs of diagnostic measurement of stator winding insulation have been estimated. These costs have been compared to the costs of possible repairs. Diagnosis costs have been also compared to the costs of energy used by these machines. Costs of diagnosis which has been done internally are compared to the costs of an external service, taking into account the amount of machines in the plant.

Opis:: Diagnostics of induction motor is usually executed on the basis of the motor phase currents signals. The harmonic contents of the current signal are taken into account. The current harmonic components of the motor to be destroyed have relatively small amplitudes, what outcomes many problems connected with interpretation of analysis results. The most of papers referred to diagnostics of induction motors available in literature are involved to motors supplied by sinusoidal voltage. The present-day motor drives are using various converter devices with very varied control algorithms for motors control. The output voltage signals contain then many harmonic components, which make difficulties to the methods use. Therefore, the necessity appears to search for quality indicators providing estimation of motor drive state as the integrity, also including the figures of supplying voltage other than sinusoidal. The advantages of using for that purpose the value of true RMS stator current signal are presented in the paper (1). With the constant load torque assumption, the calculated as true RMS value has the constant component Io. This component is involved with the multiplicity components of the basic stator current component. Depending on the motor conditions the harmonic components frequencies depend on the motor rotation speed. The article presents the ability of uses of the value calculated as true RMS for diagnostics of the motor drive with asynchronous motor and a voltage inverter. The theoretical analyses are supplied by the presentation of labor test results with modeling of chosen damage states.
