Opis:: Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie prognozy rozwoju transportu lotniczego w Polsce na najbliższe kilkanaście lat a także analiza liczby pasażerów i ładunków przesyłanych drogą lotniczą w portach lotniczych w wybranych latach ubiegłych. Analizie poddano kilka istotnych parametrów mających bezpośredni wpływ na rozwój sektora transportu lotniczego. Zaprezentowano dane statystyczne z 2004, 2008, 2012 oraz 2017 roku pod kątem analizy i wskazania trendu rozwoju transportu lotniczego w latach ubiegłych. Porównano dane statystyczne dla każdego z portów w ubiegłych latach. Przedstawiony cel zdeterminował wybór następujących metod badawczych: analiza literatury pod kątem prognoz dla transportu lotniczego oraz raportów z zakresu przewozu towarów i pasażerów w transporcie lotniczym.
The aim of the article is to present a forecast of the development of air transport in Poland for the next dozen of years as well as an analysis of the number of passengers and cargo sent by air at airports in selected previous years. The analysis included several important parameters having a direct impact on the development of the air transport sector. Statistical data from 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2017 were presented in terms of analysis and indication of the development trend of air transport in previous years. The statistics for each of the airports in previous years were compared. The presented goal determined the selection of the following research methods: literature analysis in terms of forecasts for air transport and reports on the transport of goods and passengers in air transport.

Opis:: As an international organization the European Union pursues a range of purposes including improvement of public health, prevention of human illness and diseases as well as elimination of the sources of danger to physical and mental health. To enable effective health policies supporting actions of the member states, the data and materials which are fundamental to public health assessments are collected at the Community level. They underpin a variety of analyses necessary to evaluate changes in medical systems and determine the degree of similarity between the EU member states. This article analyses public health in Poland in relation to selected European countries. The study is based on the medical, economic and social indicators available from the EUROSTAT database. The taxonomic methods used in the study allowed ranking the sampled countries and identifying those with the highest level of public health. A more detailed assessment was based on the general presentation of health care systems in each country. In addition to Poland, the other post-socialist countries in the sample are Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia, Hungary and the Czech Republic. Importantly, the study covers the years 2004-2009, after most of the countries joined the European Union. The reason why other former Eastern bloc countries were omitted from the study was the unavailability of appropriate data in the EUROSTAT database. The paper discusses a group of developed European countries too. However, because the complicated historical past of the post-socialist countries and the socio-economic difficulties that result from it make their analysis more interesting from a comparative point of view, they are the primary group explored in this article. This article is divided into theoretical and empirical section. It begins with a short introduction. Part two presents the concept of health and public health. The third part describes key factors differentiating health systems. It briefly presents the main healthcare models, that is: the Bismarck’s, Beveridge’s, Siemaszko’s and the residual model. The fourth section refers to a grouping method based on Hellwig’s taxonomic measure of development. Part five with its scope includes a comparative analysis of public health status of selected European countries. The sixth part presents major determinants of cluster formation. The paper ends with a conclusion that summarizes the obtained results.

The paper presents a mathematical model for the development of the distribution transformer station of 110 kV/MV. Optimization algorithms to solve multi-step task in determining the development strategy of the 110 kV/MV substation in period T is applied. The elaborated computer program that employs this method has been presented. Results of calculations concerning the 110 kV/MV substation that operates in urban areas have been presented as well.

Opis:: Background: The stud analyzes the economic development and quality of life in new member states of the European Union (EU-13). Research purpose: The aim of the article was to assess the degree of dependence between the level of economic development of the EU-13 countries measured by GDP per capita and the quality of life of their inhabitants. Methods: The analysis used descriptive statistics, the coefficient of variation, and Ward’s hierarchical grouping method. Conclusions: The results of the research show that in the EU-13, the level of GDP per capita has an impact on the assessment of the quality of life of residents, but it is not always the case. There is a strong positive correlation in the richest countries: Malta and the Czech Republic, and the poorest: Bulgaria and Romania. This relationship is not so obvious for other countries, especially Cyprus. This country was clearly classified lower in the quality of life rankings compared to its level of GDP.
Przedmiot badań: Przedmiotem badań jest analiza rozwoju gospodarczego i jakości życia w nowych krajach członkowskich Unii Europejskiej (UE-13). Cel badawczy: Celem artykułu była ocena stopnia zależności między poziomem rozwoju gospodarczego krajów UE-13 mierzonym PKB per capita a jakością życia ich mieszkańców. Metoda badawcza: W pracy wykorzystano metody statystyki opisowej, współczynnik zmienności oraz hierarchiczną metodę grupowania Warda. Wyniki: Na podstawie wyników analizy stwierdzono, że wyraźna korelacja między wartością PKB per capita a oceną jakości życia występuje w najzamożniejszych krajach UE-13: na Malcie i w Czechach oraz najuboższych: w Bułgarii i Rumunii. Zależność ta nie jest tak oczywista w przypadku pozostałych krajów, a zwłaszcza Cypru. Kraj ten klasyfikowano wyraźnie na niższych miejscach w rankingach jakości życia w porównaniu do jego poziomu PKB.

Opis:: The object of the study is to monitor the economic development of territories. As a result, a detailed analysis revealed the absence of a single action algorithm for diagnosing the economic development of territories. As a result of the analysis of the terminological apparatus, the essence of monitoring the economic development of territories is clarified, by which is meant the process of measuring, fixing, evaluating, con-trolling, analyzing and forecasting key characteristics based on information technologies and intended for current and strategic goals of managing the country’s territory. The paper proposes a model for the formation of an information-analytical system for monitoring the economic development of territories, based on the use of IDEF0 functional modeling and includes a specific set of stages, each of which solves a set of tasks with an indication of mechanisms and tools. The practical implementation of a functional model for the formation of an information-analytical system for monitoring the economic development of territories will effectively organize the collection of information, objectively assess the dynamics of changes in the regions, and also forecast the development of economic processes in the country.

Opis:: Today, almost 80% of cargo is transported by sea. Most of the global maritime shipping operations are performed in the direction East – West, through the southern routes, e.g. Singapore – Suez Canal – Gibraltar – Europe. The total fuel cost is the major concern and the main drawback of these routes. According to the latest statistics and analyses, the price of fuel is growing and such a trend will cause a great impact on the economies of developing countries. For these reasons, new alternative maritime routes, in which the optimisation of transportation in the maritime transport network can be achieved, are to be found. There is a possibility of establishing such routes in the areas of high latitudes where climatological changes and diminishing ice open up entirely new possibilities for shipping and present completely new challenges in the global shipping industry. Through the comparative analysis of the main routes and the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) method, this paper discusses the advantages, potential and importance, as well as the level of reliability, threats and disadvantages of using the areas of high latitude in maritime transport.

Opis:: Rural areas and their development constitute an important area of research and policy on the local scale as well as the entire EU Community. Therefore, the work was undertaken to determine the determinants of the development of rural areas and agriculture in the Konin and Leszno subregions. The aim of the work is to comprehensively determine the level of development of agriculture and rural communes in the Konin and Leszno subregions during the period of the Universal Agricultural Censuses (2002, 2010) based on the results of factor analysis and to examine the main reasons for changes occurring in given periods. The research will allow to determine the socio-economic situation and the resulting determinants of the development of municipalities.

Opis:: The sustainable implementation of highway projects requires a sensitivity analysis of the terrain and all of its components that have a direct influence on road design, construction and operation. The result of this inquiry involving GIS techniques and methods regarding environmental and economic factors helps in choosing the optimal road route, in order to meet the real-world connectivity requirements. The sensitivity analysis can be applied to road and rail infrastructure projects, aiming to develop a decision-making tool that can be employed by their potential beneficiaries, according to their purposes and interests. This paper aims to create an objective decision-making tool for transport infrastructure development in correlation with the current needs of society regarding the development of transport infrastructure in an economic sustainable manner with low environmental impact. Furthermore, the study tries to identify the best highway corridor in an area with environmental constraints (especially geomorphological), that is in balance with both environment and financial resources.
