Opis:
The aim of this study was to identify risks and ergonomics discomfort during work of local and short haul delivery truck drivers outside a cab. The study used a video- and computer-based method (VIDAR). VIDAR is a participatory method identifying demanding work situations and their potential risks. The drivers’ work was videoed and analysed by subjects and ergonomists. Delivery truck drivers should not be perceived as one group with equal risks because there were significant differences between the 2 types of transportation and specific types of risks. VIDAR produces visual material for risk management processes. VIDAR as a participatory approach stimulates active discussion about work-related risks and discomfort, and about possibilities for improvement. VIDAR may be also applied to work which comprises different working environments.

Opis:
W opracowaniu przedstawiono system optymalizacji pracy środków transportu przemieszczających świeże owoce malin z punktów skupu do chłodni. Mniej przejechanych kilometrów to mniej zużytego paliwa i innych materiałów eksploatacyjnych, zmniejszone zużycie techniczne pojazdów, krótszy czas pracy kierowcy a więc i obniżenie ponoszonych kosztów.
This elaboration presents a system for work optimisation of transportation means delivering fresh raspberries from collection points to cold stores. The method was applied to plan transportation means delivery routes according to a specified target criterion, which may be e.g. minimisation of costs, time, or energy consumption. It was assumed in the presented system that the length of delivery routes will be minimised for the transportation means participating in accomplishing of the delivery task. Adopting such a target function leads in practice also to minimisation of costs, time, and energy consumption. A lower number of kilometres driven means less consumed fuel and other operating materials, decreased technical wear of vehicles, shorter drivers' work time, and thus also a decrease of the costs spent. Dividing transportation means, on the basis of simulation analysis for each day of purchasing period, a decision can be made to buy or rent them, i.e. to specify transportation self-sufficiency of an enterprise. The effects of the program work have shown that the application of the suggested system in the analysed year would shorten the total length of the distance covered by trucks participating in the raspberry purchasing campaign for the cold stores by 9%. Improvement of vehicle work efficiency renders measurable amounts, which decrease the product manufacturing costs and increase its marketing competitiveness.

Opis:
The transportation service for the cluster of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) is different with traditional vehicle routing problems. In the cluster of SMEs, parts of enterprises are pickup and delivery spots simultaneously, but some enterprises are partly pickup and delivery simultaneously. It is necessary to optimize this transportation service with an effective mathematics and algorithm to reduce transportation costs for manufacturers. However, traditional mathematics models and algorithms are not suitable to solve the vehicle routing problem partly simultaneous pickup and delivery (VRPPSD) because these items mainly focus on the vehicle routing problem with pickup and delivery simultaneously. In this paper, a mathematics operational model is proposed to analyze the transportation service of the cluster companies and to describe transportation processes. A hybrid algorithm which is composed by tabu search, genetic algorithm and local search is used to optimize the operational model. The crossover and mutation contained by genetic algorithm are used to generate neighborhood solutions for tabu search, and the local search is used to improve optimizing solutions. The data of a cluster of SMEs, investigating from Changzhou city, China, are employed to show the validity of our mathematical model and algorithm. The results indicate that our model and hybrid algorithm is effective to solve VRPPSD. In this paper, the satisfied solutions of VRPPSD are found by hybrid algorithm. At the same time, the results also show that carriers with optimal routs can service customers with more profits (increasing 5.6%). The potential saving of transport cost will increase profits of carriers in SMEs. Sensitivity analyses about adjusting service time and rate of new orders are lunched to analyze how these two factors influence the profits of the VRPPSPD in a dynamic case. A bottleneck that influences the profits is found, and there has a shorter service time which could increase gross profits, but not significantly.

Opis:
Transportation is an inseparable part of the supply chain, with a key role in product distribution. This role is highlighted when ratio of “the cost of transportation” to “the value of goods” such as cement is significant. Iran has recently become one of the main centers of cement production in the world. However, transportation is the most important challenge in cement distribution because of weak structure of the transportation fleet and its independent action. Independence of and lack of commitment on the part of transportation fleets to cement companies as well as lack of timely delivery due to shortage of transportation in some routes and seasons lead to customers` dissatisfaction and even market loss or lack of market development. One of the significant differences between the transportation system in Iran and that in developed countries is lack of complete productivity of the transportation fleet. It means that trucks are driver-based in Iran. This paper introduces a model considering some issues such as driver-based trucks, size of the transportation fleet based on the number of active trucks, and demand priorities in the cement company. Taking the relation between the number of active trucks and the cement company into account, this model assigns weekly demands to the transportation fleet. It also tries to minimize the delay to respond to demands and increases the efficiency of the transportation fleet. Finally, this current condition-based model is compared with two other models including “no constraints on different routes of trucks” as well as single-route model for trucks.

Opis:
Formation of rational delivery routes is the main way to increase the effectiveness of client services for freight forwarding companies. The main part of the requests for transport services comes from occasional (non-constant) clients. The set of those requests forms a stochastic flow. For stochastic requests flow, the delivery routes are formed in the process of the requests receipt. Therefore, the standard approaches for merging of requests from multiple clients into routes, based on linear programming techniques, cannot be used in such conditions. An algorithm of formation under the stochastic demand conditions of such delivery routes, which allow servicing of two or more shippers, is proposed in the paper. The author has developed a specialized software to support decisions made by dispatchers of forwarding companies.
