    The article introduces a new proposal of a def uzzification method, which can be implemented in fuzzy controllers. The first chapter refers to the origin of fuzzy sets. Next, a modern development based on this theory is presented in the form of ordered fuzzy numbers (OFN). The most important characteristics of ordered fuzzy numbers are also presented. In the following chapter, details about the defuzzification process are given as part of the fuzzy controller model. Then a new method of defuzzification is presented. The method is named center of circles intersection (CCI). The authors compare this method with a similar geometric solution: triangular expanding (TE) and geometric mean (GM). Also, the results are compared with other methods such as center of gravity (COG), first of maxima (FOM) and last of maxima (LOM). The analysis shows that the proposed solution works correctly and provides results for traditional fuzzy numbers as well as directed fuzzy numbers. The last chapter contains a summary, in which more detailed conclusions are provided and further directions of research are indicated.

    W artykule przedstawiono algorytm umożliwiający znalezienie najkrótszej ścieżki w grafie skierowanym. Do opisu krawędzi grafów zaproponowano użycie wyrażeń lingwistycznych. Do obliczeń zaproponowano wykorzystanie prostej defuzyfikacji wartości rozmytych do wartości ostrych. Pokazano, że taka metoda w przypadku znajdowania najkrótszej ze ścieżek może znaleźć zastosowanie.
    The paper presents an algorithm that allows finding the shortest path in a directed graph. To describe the edges of the graph proposed to use linguistic values. For the calculation proposed to use a simple defuzzification to the sharp values. It has been shown that this technique for finding the shortest path can be used.

    The purpose of this article is to suggest tools of inventory management which would determine economically optimal order quantities. One of them is based on the so-called fixed order quantity model which takes into account several elements of inventory cost, such as ordering cost, transportation and storing cost, frozen capital cost, as well as extra discounts. The tool is based on fuzzy concepts represented by Ordered Fuzzy Numbers. The second tool takes into account the dynamics and works on the basis of replenishment system. This tool can be treated as a kind of controller. Examples of using this tools are presented.

    We are investigating the ability to data mine fuzzy tuples, which are often utilized to represent uncertainty about the registered information. We discuss different aspects of fuzzy databases and comment on practical advantages of the model we utilized in our research. Motivated by a well known technique called Attribute-Oriented Induction, which has been developed for summarization of ordinary relational databases, we propose a new heuristic algorithm, allowing attribute-oriented defuzzification of fuzzy database tuples to the form acceptable for many regular (i.e. atomic values based) data mining algorithms. Significant advantages of our approach to defuzzification of fuzzy database tuples include: (1) its intuitive character of fuzzy tuples' interpretation, (2) a unique capability of incorporating background knowledge, implicitly stored in the fuzzy database models in the form of fuzzy similarity relation, directly into the imprecise data interpretation process, (3) transformation of fuzzy tuples to a format easy to process by regular data mining algorithms, and (4) a good scalability for time-efficient treatment of large datasets containing non-atomic, categorical data entries.

    Opis:
    Aim of the paper is to propose a new tool for a decision supporting system concerning the financial project evaluation. It is based on the determination of the internal rate of return (IRR) of a investment project in which all expenditure and anticipated incomes are vague, and described by Ordered Fuzzy Numbers (OFNs). It means that the probabilistic approach is neglected in this paper and the use of the well developed arithmetics of OFNs is made to find a positive fuzzy root of a fuzzy polynomial representing the fuzzy net present value of the project. Since in the space of OFNs a partial order relation is defined together with a number of defuzzification functionals, the authors can construct a decision support system for investors helping them in acceptance procedure of most profitable investment projects.

    W artykule zaproponowano nowe podejście do rozmytych wieloatrybutowych metod wspomagania decyzji poprzez zastosowanie modelu skierowanych liczb rozmytych. Po prezentacji tego modelu, został on wykorzystany w rozmytej metodzie SAW. Skierowane liczby rozmyte pozwalają na błyskawiczne rozróżnienie typu kryterium, a przedstawione przykłady pokazują użyteczność proponowanej metody.
    In the paper, a new approach to fuzzy Multi-Attribute Decision Making methods has been proposed, with the application of Ordered Fuzzy Numbers model. After the presentation of OFN model, it has been used as part of the fuzzy SAW method. Ordered fuzzy numbers allow to immediately distinguish between type of criteria, and the presented examples show the usefulness of the proposed method.

    The aim of the artile is presenting the current state of ordered fuzzy numbers development. New model of fuzzy number was invented in 2002 to overcome drawbacks of classical (convex) fuzzy numbers. Two problems of management accounting are considered. The first relates to the management of supply and determining the optimal size of a delivery from outside, which minimalize total costs, when unit costs of delivery and storage are fuzzy. The second problem is related to determination of Internal Rate of Return (IRR) for investments in which the value of cash flow are not specified accurately.     The defuzzification of a type-2 fuzzy set is a two stage process consisting of firstly type-reduction, and secondly defuzzification of the resultant type-1 set. This paper considers three approaches to discrete interval type-reduction: 1. The exhaustive method which produces the Type-Reduced Set, 2. the Greenfield-Chiclana Collapsing Defuzzifier which gives rise to the Representative Embedded Set Approximation, and 3. the Nie-Tan Method from which the Nie-Tan Set is derived. In the discrete case these three type-1 sets are distinct. The behavior of the three sets under fine discretisation is investigated experimentally, in order to shed light on the relationships between the continuous versions of these type-1 sets.

    W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję wykorzystania teorii zbiorów rozmytych L. A. Zadeha do wyznaczania ryzyka wieloczynnikowego w oparciu o lingwistyczną bazę wiedzy. Docelowy model rozmyty takiego systemu został skonstruowany według uogólnionego standardu sterownika rozmytego zaproponowanego przez E. H. Mamdaniego. We wstępie przedstawiono zarys teorii zbiorów rozmytych Zadeha oraz założenia aplikacyjne rozmytego sterownika Mamdaniego. W dalszej części został zaprezentowany przykładowy model systemu rozmytego służący do wyznaczania ryzyka wieloczynnikowego oparty na regułach logiki rozmytej i funkcjach lingwistycznych. Artykuł stanowi pionierską próbę wykorzystania formalnego aparatu teorii zbiorów rozmytych do wyznaczania ryzyka wieloczynnikowego rozpatrywanego na gruncie standardów bezpieczeństwa pracy.
    The article reveals the concept of using of L. A. Zadeh fuzzy sets theory in order to determine the multispectral risk taking into consideration the linguistic knowledge base. The target fuzzy model of such system was prepared following generalized main standard of the fuzzy controller developed by E. H. Mamdani. The introduction of following paper contains the broad outline of Zadeh fuzzy set theory as well as application idea of Mamdani fuzzy controllers. The following part introduces an example of the fuzzy system, which can be used to determine the multispectral risk basing on rules of fuzzy logic and linguistic functions. This pioneer work is an attempt to use formal apparatus of the fuzzy sets theory to determine the multispectral risk taking into consideration labor safety standards.
