Opis:
This article deals with the design of slewing rings (slewing bearings). A fully parametric, 3D virtual model of a ball slewing ring with four-point contact was created in the PTC/Creo Parametric CAD system. This model was subsequently used for finite-element analysis using Ansys/Workbench CAE software. The purpose of the FEM analysis was to determine the axial stiffness characteristics. Results of FEM analysis were experimentally verified using a test bench. At the end of the article, we present the nomograms of the deformation constant for different pitch diameters, rolling element diameters and contact angles.

Opis:
The paper aims at a critical analysis of the existent description of plastic strengthening/ work-hardening curve. The adequate description of the curve, having a physical sense, has been proposed. The description begins from the very source which is the primary, general differential equation. That source was used to formulate the characteristics of the studied system. Then the analytical solution of the dependence between the yield stress and the relative deformation is provided. The description of the work-hardening curve has been developed to further form a proper dependence of the yield force on the absolute yield strain. Other functional characteristics, namely the coefficient of the plastic rigidity, yield work, and the plastic potentials, have also been formed.

Opis:
This paper demonstrates the stress free thermo-elastic problem of the FGM thick plate. Existence of such a purely thermal deformation is proved in two ways. First proof is based on application of the Iljushin thermo-elastic potential to displacement type system of equations. This reduces 3D problem to the plane stress state problem. Next it is shown that the unique solution fulfils conditions of simultaneous constant temperature and linear gradation of thermal expansion coefficient. Second proof is based directly on stress type system of equations which straightforwardly reduces to compatibility equations for purely thermal deformation. This occurs if only stress field is homogeneous in domain and at boundary. Finally an example of application to an engineering problem is presented.

Opis:
In this paper we study a nonlinear Dirichlet elliptic differential equation driven by the p-Laplacian and with a nonsmooth potential. The hypotheses on the nonsmooth potential allow resonance with respect to the principal eigenvalue λ₁ > 0 of $(-Δₚ,W₀^{1,p}(Z))$. We prove the existence of five nontrivial smooth solutions, two positive, two negative and the fifth nodal.
