Opis:
Large demand for bulk of sapphire optical products, which are widely used as illuminators, optical windows in aviation and aeronautics etc., generates the inquiry of effective production of high quality industrial crystals. The technology of crystal growth with the horizontal single crystal sapphire crystallization method is based on putting the crystal seed into the front of the crucible resistant to temperatures up to 2150°C. Without encompassment of the production technology of this special container made from thin molybdenum sheet is not realistic to consider the productive exploitation of horizontal crystallization systems in engineering practice. This paper presents the analysis of the possibility of the local resistance of molybdenum sheet heating by its deep drawing to obtain better drawing properties by increased blank temperature.

Effect of annealing treatment on deep drawing behavior of hot-rolled Q235 carbon steel/410/304 stainless steel three-layer composite plate was investigated. Deep drawability of the unannealed composite plates exhibits a sharp difference for various contact surfaces with the die. The limit drawing ratio (LDR) of the composite plate with the carbon steel contacting the die is 1.75, while it is 1.83 with the stainless steel contacting the die due to the different mechanical responses to the tensile stress at the corner of the die. After annealing at 900°C for 2 h, however, the deep drawabilities of the composite plates both for various contact surfaces with the die are significantly improved and becomes almost identical, which are attributed to the stress relief, the enhanced ductility and the improved interface bonding strength of the hot-rolled component plates during annealing.

Opis:
The paper presents the concept of a new tool for the sheet metal blanks deformation which is based on the hydro-multipoint method. In this method the upper die with pins is replaced with a hydraulic pressure chamber. The blank sheet is placed between two flexible interpolators and it is deformed under the action of the pressure applied from the hydraulic chamber until it takes the shape of the multipoint die located at the bottom of the equipment. A critical review of the main hydroforming and multipoint forming methods is done. Then, a simulation model for the new hydro-multipoint forming tool is developed. Material thickness, stresses and part dimensions are analysed. A mechanical hydro-multipoint forming tool which was designed and manufactured based on the new concept is presented. Using this tool a number of experiments are done. The real parts are evaluated in terms of surface quality and parts dimensions. The experimental results come to validate the numerical ones. Finally, it was concluded that this new die concept could be used in manufacturing complex sheet metal parts.

The efficient use of resources are becoming more important due to economic and environmental requirements. In widely used forming processes like deep drawing an avoidance of lubricants – namely dry deep drawing – is a key factor for saving resources. In this paper, a combined approach consisting of a macro-structured tool design and a special modified protective coating is presented. The combination ensures a stable process with a sufficiently wide process window under dry conditions. The absence of lubricants in critical areas has to be compensated by tetrahedral amorphous carbon ta-C films which is additionally structured by Direct Laser Interference Patterning (DLIP) for further improvement of the tribological performance.

This paper presents results of research with FEM simulation of sheet metal forming process. The two types of aluminium alloys from 5XXX and 6XXX series, which are used in automotive industry, were compared. The computer simulation and numerical analysis of deep drawing cup test were used to predict the ability of the forming of these alloys. The plasticity model Hill'90 was used for stamping simulations. The results of numerical simulation were validated by real experiment using sheet metal testing machine Erichsen 145-60. Both results were compared with regard to prediction accuracy in changes of thickness and ear profile.

This paper discusses the results of a numerical study of circular cup drawing of steel sheets using finite element method. The drawing process is considered as a geometrical and physical nonlinear problem with unknown boundary conditions in the contact area of the system, such as the tool and the workpiece. The updated Lagrangian description is used to characterize these nonlinear phenomena on a typical incremental step time. Numerical results are obtained using an explicit method in Ansys/Ls-Dyna program. The constitutive Cowper-Symonds material model with linear hardening strain to predict material plasticity is used. The results of implementation of stresses and strains from a blanking operation flat disc of a sheet of metal for deep-drawing process are presented. After the blanking process simulation, an implicit springback analysis is performed. Then a numerical analysis of cup forming from this flat disc plate was carried out. The analysis results are compared with one another through reading of the sheet thickness in several characteristic points and the overall height of the product.

In this project thesis, initial blank shape optimization of a twin elliptical cup to reduce earring phenomenon in anisotropic sheet deep drawing process was studied .The purpose of this study is optimization of initial blank for reduction of the ears height value. The optimization process carried out using finite element method approach, which is coupled with Taguchi design of experiments and reduced basis technique methods. The deep drawing process was simulated in FEM software ABAQUS 6.12. The results of optimization show earring height and, in addition, a number of design variables and time of process can be reduced by using this methods. After optimization process with the proposed method, the maximum reduction of the earring height would be from 21.08 mm to 0.07 mm and also it could be reduced to 0 in some of the directions. The proposed optimization design in this article allows the designers to select the practical basis shapes. This leads to obtain better results at the end of the optimization process, to reduce design variables, and also to prevent repeating the optimization steps for indirect shapes.

Opis:
The analysis of the development of the microstructure of deep drawn automotive B pillar, as well as the analysis of deformation based on numerical simulation and experiment, was performed. The microstructure of steel sheet as well as Al-Si coating after various stages of B pillar production was investigated. It was found that the obtained microstructure of the B pillar was significantly different from that described in many studies as a proper one. The microstructure of the investigated material consisted of martensite, bainite, and a small amount of ferrite. Al-Si coating, despite its morphological changes, remained on the surface of B pillar and, in spite of this, did not fully eliminate oxidation and decarburization of B pillar material. The analysis of the state of strain allowed to evaluate the deformation safety of the process, as well as to verify the simulation results through measurements of sheet thickness variations.

The main objective of this publication is to present the possibilities of using the numerical calculations to determine the force and the total drawing work. Minimizing the effort of energy is an important element in modern mass production, because the rapid determination of the total work allows optimizing the production process and reduce its harmful effects on the environment. In this paper summarizes the numerical results with experimental data for the purpose of verification. It was confirmed that at significance level α = 0,05 results of simulation are consistent with experimental. It has been determined that on the overall drawing work has an influence the profile of the die and the friction conditions in the contact zone.
Głównym celem tej publikacji jest przedstawienie możliwości zastosowania obliczeń numerycznych do wyznaczania siły i całkowitej pracy tłoczenia. Minimalizacja nakładu energetycznego jest ważnym elementem w nowoczesnej produkcji masowej, dlatego szybkie wyznaczenie całkowitej pracy pozwala optymalizować proces produkcyjny i zmniejszyć jego szkodliwy wpływ na środowisko. W pracy zestawiono wyniki numeryczne z eksperymentalnymi w celu ich weryfikacji. Potwierdzono, że na poziomie istotności α = 0,05 wyniki symulacyjne są zgodne z eksperymentalnymi. Określono, że na całkowitą pracę tłoczenia ma wpływ profil matrycy i warunki tarcia w obszarze kontaktu narzędzi.

W artykule zamieszczono informacje na temat kształtowania materiału Hastelloy C-276 metodą obróbki plastycznej. Krążki o średnicy O200 mm z materiału Hastelloy C-276 tłoczono na prasie hydraulicznej, celem przygotowania wstępniaków. Następnie wstępniaki kształtowano metodą zgniatania obrotowego wydłużającego z zastosowaniem międzyoperacyjnej obróbki cieplnej. Podczas zgniatania obrotowego dla poszczególnych operacji zastosowano 20% i 30% odkształcenie. W artykule zamieszczono wyniki badań z tłoczenia oraz zgniatania obrotowego, wraz z pomiarem rozkładu grubości ścianki na całej długości pobocznicy.
The paper contains information on forming Hastelloy C-276 material by the method of metal forming. Hastelloy C-276 disks have been stamped on a hydraulic press in order to make blanks. Then the blanks were formed by the method of elongating flow forming with the application of interoperation heat treatment. During flow forming, deformation of 20% and 30% has been applied. The paper presents investigation results of deep drawing and flow forming including the measurement of wall thickness distribution on the whole side wall length.
