Opis:
During the past few years, the number of drones (unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs) manufactured and purchased has risen dramatically. It is predicted that it will continue to spread, making its use inevitable in all walks of life. Drone apps are therefore expected to overrun the app stores in the near future. The UAV’s software is not being studied/researched despite several active research and studies being carried out in the UAV’s hardware field. A large‐scale empirical analysis of Google Play Store Platform apps connected to drones is being done in this direction. There are, however, a number of challenges with drone apps because of the lack of formal and specialized app development procedures. In this paper, eleven drone app issues have been identified. Then we applied the DEMATEL (Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) method to analyze the drone app issues (DIs) and divide these issues into cause and effect groups. First, multiple experts assess the direct relationships between influential issues in drone apps. The evaluation results are presented in spherical fuzzy numbers (SFN). Secondly, we convert the linguistic terms into SFN. Thirdly, based on DEMATEL, the cause‐effect classifications of issues are obtained. Finally, the issues in the cause category are identified as DI’s in drone apps. The outcome of the research is compared with the other variants of DEMATEL, like rough‐Z‐number‐ based DEMATEL and spherical fuzzy number, and the comparative results suggest that spherical fuzzy DEMA‐ TEL is the most fitting method to analyze the interrela‐ tionship of different issues in drone apps. The findings revealed that highest influenced values feature request (DI9 ) 3.12, Customer support (DI6) 2.91, Connection/Sync ((DI4) 2./72, Cellular Data Usage ((DI3) 2.51, Battery (DI2) 2.31, Advertisements ((DI1) – 0.3, Cost (DI5) – 0.5, Additional cost (D11) – 0.5, Device Compatibility (DI7) – 0.96, and Functional Error (DI10) – 1.2. The outcome of this work definitely assists the software industry in the successful identification of the critical issues where professionals and project managers could really focus.

Opis:
The article presents selected types of phase change materials (PCM) and their properties in terms of applications in construction and concrete technology. The purpose of using PCM is to allow the technological barrier to be exceeded in hot and dry climate conditions, enabling the construction of non-cracking concrete structures. Methodology of the multi-criteria decision-making process with the use of a relatively newdecision-aking tool in construction - the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) is presented. Theoretical aspects of the method and an example of its practical use for the selection of the best material variant and concrete care method in the dry Syrian climate are presented. The conclusions resulting from the presented article concern two areas, i.e. the advisability of using phase change materials for temperature regulation in the maturing fresh concrete in dry climate conditions and the attractiveness of the AHP method justifying the advisability of choosing the maintenance methods in such conditions.
Wnioski płynące z przedstawionego artykułu dotyczą dwóch obszarów, tj. celowości stosowania materiałów PCM z przemianą fazową o stosunkowo niskiej temperaturze do regulacji temperatury w dojrzewającym świeżym betonie w suchych warunkach klimatycznych oraz atrakcyjności metody AHP uzasadniającej celowość wyboru alternatywnych metod pielęgnacji młodego betonu w takich warunkach.

The study aims to develop a decision-making framework by integrating queuing theory and multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) tools, namely TOPSIS, EDAS, CoCoSo, and TODIM to select a roll-over car washing machine for an oil station. The queue, technical and financial characteristics of the alternatives are added to the decision-making process. The decision matrix includes five criteria and five alternatives. One million weight sets are created randomly, and MCDM techniques are applied to interpret the results statistically. Results indicate that Alternative 3 is statistically superior to the others. The proposed procedure can help decision makers to make decisions when expert knowledge isn’t available, and it can be applied for other purposes by making small changes.

The current collapsible pot hauler uses a wooden frame, thus making much space in the working area of the fishing boat and also at this time challenging to find the best quality wood at this time. In this study, the wood material would replace by metal; the selection of the proper material is critically needed. A suitable material means the applied material has to deal with environmental conditions. Finding the appropriate material applied to the collapsible pot hauler; can be determined using a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) approach. After selecting the proper material, the collapsible pot hauler simulates the material stress using the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation. The material for the new model of collapsible pot hauler was selected using the WSM method. The material with the highest rank (selected) is AISI 304, with a preference value of 3.58. The static strength simulation using the FEA method utilizing Solidworks Software shows that the yield strength value is still below the material properties, which a maximum value is 200. MPa, the material safety factor is the minimum value above one, which is 1.24 on the line spool plate shafts. It means that the material AISI 304 is safe to be applied to the collapsible pot hauler.

Wieloletnie wydobycie węgla kamiennego wpływa na deniwelację powierzchni terenu. Analiza zmian warunków hydrogeologicznych i stanu zagrożeń wodnych w zakładach górniczych wymusiły pracę nad nowymi możliwościami oceny i zwalczania zagrożenia wodnego. Obecnie szczególnym przedmiotem zainteresowania są zmiany morfologii terenu, zmiany stosunków wodnych, których najczęściej spotykanym przejawem są zalania i podtopienia stref najbardziej obniżonych oraz zmiana kierunków i natężenia spływu wód powierzchniowych. W publikacji przeprowadzono analizę możliwości obniżenia kosztów likwidacji nieczynnej kopalni przez modernizację funkcjonującego systemu odprowadzenia wód opadowych z bezodpływowych niecek. Analiza ujawniła główne czynniki zakłócające przebieg procesu odwadniania i wynikające z nich najważniejsze problemy. Przy pomocy analizy wielokryterialnej z grupy zaproponowanych technicznych wariantów modernizacji wybrano warianty optymalne.
Many years of hard coal mining affect the leveling of the land surface. The analysis of changes in hydrogeological conditions and the state of water hazards in mining plants forced the mine to work on new ways of assessing and combating water threats. Currently, the special subject of interest is focused on changes in the morphology of the area, changes in water conditions, the most common manifestations of which are flooding and water damages of the most depressed zones as well as changing the direction and intensity of surface water runoff. The publication analyzes the possibility of reducing the costs of liquidation an inactive mine by modernizing the existing rainwater drainage system from drainless basins. The analysis revealed the main factors interferring the dewatering process and the crucial problems resulting from them. Using a multi-criteria analysis, the optimal variants were selected from the group of the proposed technical modernization variants.

Opis:
TOPSIS is a well-known approach applied to multi-criteria decision-making under certainty (M-DMC). However, recently, some analogies between this domain and scenario-based one-criterion decision-making under uncertainty (1-DMU) have been revealed in the literature. Thus, the similarities aforementioned give the possibility to adjust TOPSIS to another area. The goal of the paper is to create a new method for problems with non-deterministic parameters on the basis of TOPSIS ideas. In the suggested approach criteria weights (declared within TOPSIS) are replaced by subjective chances of occurrence which are estimated for each scenario. The novel method has an advantage over existing classical decision rules designed for 1-criterion decision-making under uncertainty since within this procedure each payoff connected with a given option is compared with the positive and negative-ideal solutions.

Opis:
The use of robotic equipment and a new technique called contour crafting allows for the construction of buildings at lower labor and material costs. The selection of the type of robot is an important factor that affects the overall performance of the contour crafting (CC) system. Various robot configurations, such as gantry, cylindrical, and SCARA, may be employed for contour crafting. There are benefits and drawbacks to using different types of robots for various tasks, including cost, work volume, material compatibility, and precision. Identifying a proper robot using the multi-criterion decision-making (MCDM) technique is crucial for successful building automation. This article uses the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) method to rank the best robots according to several characteristics. Cartesian robots, cylindrical robots, and SCARA robots were evaluated based on cost, accuracy, work volume, surface finish, type of profile, and speed. The results showed that the gantry-type robot is the most suitable option, while the cylindrical robot is unsuitable for building construction due to lower accuracy.

Due to the online process and the limited number of scholarships offered by the university, beyond the face-to-face interview, multiple-criteria decision analysis can help to select a proper student. In this study, we use the extended VIKOR method with fuzzy numbers to help committees to select the students from the applicants. The criteria and the weights of the criteria are provided with the help of committees. Both trapezoidal and triangular linguistic variables are used to find the solution and to observe the range of the possible result. The different weights supporting the strategy of maximum group utility are varied to detect the potential alternatives. The ranking results are also compared with the one obtained from the TODIM approach to illustrate the appropriate alternative.

The usage of the energy idea in neutrosophic matrices makes it more flexible and applicable in multi-criteria decision-making environments. In this paper, we propose the energy approach in neutrosophic matrices with interval values. We determined the given energy’s upper and lower bounds. The energy is used of the interval-valued neutrosophic matrix to address the MCDM problem. A new strategy has been introduced called the interval-valued neutrosophic energy method to solve this problem. We look at the problem of choosing a qualified manager for a business project. A team of professionals in the company evaluates the options using neutrosophic numbers with interval values, and the energy method is then used to calculate the result. The result has been compared with the TOPSIS method results to show that the outcomes are similar.

The aim of the research is comparison between average order picking times obtained using the analytical model and simulation methods for shared storage systems. We also compare the results obtained with the results obtained for dedicated storage. We assume the random and ABC-class storage (with within and across aisle storage policies). We select the locations by means of the TOPSIS method for two take-out strategies: quantity adjustment (QA) and priority of partial units (PPU). We determine the route by using s-shape and return heuristics. In most cases, the simulated average order picking times are shorter than the analytical ones. It results from not considering the criteria’ weights in calculation of the analytical order picking time. Also, the results for shared storage with QA strategy are in most cases better than for dedicated storage. This might imply an advantage of shared over dedicated storage, but needs further confirmation.

Opis:
The goal of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) is to select the most appropriate of the alternatives by evaluating many conflicting criteria together. MCDM methods are widely available in the literature and have been used in various energy problems. The key problems studied in electrical power systems in recent years have included voltage instability and voltage collapse. Different flexible alternating current transmission systems (FACTS) equipment has been used for this purpose for decades, increasing voltage stability while enhancing system efficiency, reliability and quality of supply, and offering environmental benefits. Finding the best locations for these devices in terms of voltage stability in actual electrical networks poses a serious problem. Many criteria should be considered when determining the most suitable location for the controller. The aim of this paper is to provide a comparative analysis of MCDM techniques to be used for optimal location of a static VAR compensator (SVC) device in terms of voltage stability. The ideal location can be determined by means of sorting according to priority criteria. The proposed approach was carried out using the Power System Analysis Toolbox (PSAT) in MATLAB in the IEEE 14-bus test system. Using ten different MCDM methods, the most appropriate locations were compared among themselves and a single ranking list was obtained, integrated with the Borda count method, which is a data fusion technique. The application results showed that the methods used are consistent among themselves. It was revealed that the integrated model was an appropriate method that could be used for optimal location selection, providing reliable and satisfactory results to power system planners.

Developing the power plants in any country is considered an economic development strategy as it changes the country’s market despite the competitive pressures. However, to grow the electricity market, policymakers need to evaluate the domestic Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) of electric power plants. So, the necessity of a strategic plan for the power plants is inevitable to reach the goals such as eliminating the shortcomings, and meeting the desired criteria of an organization, such as more market share, acceptable profitability, customer satisfaction, increasing profit growth rate, and productivity through economic and cost-effective operations. Therefore, in this paper, the Zarand power plant in Iran is chosen as a case study to develop the associated strategies and rank them. A power plant strategic plan was generated by using a SWOT matrix. Then, the developed strategies were prioritized using a quantitative strategic planning matrix (QSPM) and the best-worst method (BWM). The results confirm that developing the main product (electricity power), managing water consumption, and providing equipment are the most critical strategies for the Zarand power plant. Findings also demonstrated that the results of the BWM method are more accurate and correct than the QSPM method for prioritizing strategies.

Research background: Although some authors propose that economic growth should reduce crime rates as wider opportunities to earn money in a legal way diminish the incentives to commit illegal activities and lead to rising costs of the latter, the results of many studies indicate that an increase in crime rates is also possible under the conditions of economic growth. There are also differing views on the relationship between various economic indicators and crime rates as well as the nature of the relationship between the above-mentioned phenomena in the long and short run. Purpose of the article: After classifying the EU member states by their crime and economic indicators, the main objective of the article is to assess the relationship between the crime and economic development and identify the causes of this relationship. Methods: Systematic and comparative literature analysis, the Promethee and Entropy methods, Spearman?s correlation coefficient. Findings & value added: The Promethee method, together with the Entropy method, were used to estimate the weights of the EU member states with respect to their crime and economic development indicators. The most pronounced differences were recorded in Portugal, Spain, and the Slovak Republic. The rankings estimated for the EU member states revealed that although economic situation affects crime rate, it can also be affected by the differences in cultural and political development. Scientific novelty lies in complementing the theory of the shadow economy with the results showing that compared to other crimes, corruption has the greatest weight when examining the relationship between economic development and crime. The practical significance of the research lies in classifying the EU member states into 4 groups with consideration of the relationship between crime and economic development, which may help public authorities to devise the target measures for the effective fight against crime given the nature of the relationship between crime and economic development.
