    The way of keeping records by deans was regulated by law. The records produced by Father Jan Gawełczyk were not always kept in conformity with legal requirements. The state of documentation from the time of his office is known thanks to registration of documents carried out in 1826 and 1854. These registers make possible a reconstruction of the so-called registry (record office), including the way in which different categories of documents were arranged. The catalogues show that the content of the archives grew twice during that time. The records have now been arranged in accordance with legal regulations, though not all requirements have been fulfilled. Comparison of the two registers reveals that a new Dean’s seal and journals for correspondence were introduced during Father J. Gawełczyk’s office.

    Szadek decanate archives in diocese record office in Włocławek. Part II This is the second part of a description of Szadek Decanate historical documents which are held in the Diocese Record Office in Włocławek. The main focus of this paper has been on the contents of the documents and their place of origin. The preserved archives mainly contain legal regulations; there are much fewer documents relating to Szadek Decanate. On the basis of the 19th century register, it can be estimated that the file in its present form contains only about 10% of the documents once existing.

    Opis:
    The right of patronage in Church law was understood as a set of rights and responsibilities with regard to a benefice. As benefices were mostly located on the founder’s estate, it became customary that the owner (or owners) of the locality where the parish church was situated was the parish patron. A major visible element of exercising the right of patronage was presentation to the bishop of clergymen to be considered for granting vacant benefices. Of the 19 parishes existing in Szadek decanate in the first half of the 16th century, two churches had royal patronage, six – ecclesiastical, and the most of them (11) had noblemen as patrons. In the second half of the 18th century the number of parishes in the decanate reached 27 as a result of further foundations by members of the nobility. The article presents, on the basis of available sources, the patrons of the parishes as in the second half of the 18th century.

    Der vorliegende Artikel bildet den Versuch einer Besprechung der Bestände der Pfarrarchive und der Tätigkeit der Pfarrkanzleien auf dem Gebiet des Dekanats Książ Wielki im ausgehenden 18. Jahrhundert. Den Betrachtungen des Verfassers liegen die Akten der 1783 in 16 Pfarreien dieses Dekanats durchgeführten bischöfl ichen Visitation zugrunde. Die Grundlage der Pfarrarchive im Dekanat Książ Wielki von 1783 bildeten die Kirchenmatrikel. Am frühesten, denn bereits in den ersten Jahrzehnten des 17. Jahrhunderts, begann man mit dem Führen von Taufregistern (Słaboszów, Kalina Sławice, Pałecznica und Książ Wielki). Etwas langsamer und säumiger verlief die Rezeption des Brauchs, auch Heiratsbücher zu führen. Obligatorische Sterbebücher wurden in Polen erst 1631 durch das „Petrikauer Rituale” eingeführt. In einem Teil der Pfarreien des Dekanats Książ Wielki (Pałecznica, Radziemice, Kozłów, Książ Wielki) begann man in der zweiten Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts mit dem Führen von Sterbebüchern, in den übrigen Pfarreien erst im Laufe der letzten Jahrzehnte des 17. und der ersten Jahrzehnte des 18. Jahrhunderts. In einigen Pfarrarchiven des Dekanats Książ Wielki (Radziemice, Wrocimowice, Pałecznica und Książ Mały) befanden sich auch zu den Bruderschaften gehörende Verzeichnisse, die sogenannten Fraternitätsalben oder Bruderschaftsbücher. Über die Aktenbestände der einzelnen Kirchen informierten die auf Verfügung von Bischof Sołtyk und Primas Poniatowski eingeführten „Summarien der Rechte und Dokumente”, die alle Dokumente über die Bezüge und Besitztümer der jeweiligen Kirche enthalten sollten. Solche „Summarien” gab es 1783 in 14 Pfarreien des gesamten Dekanats, was davon zeugt, dass dies allgemein so gehandhabt wurde. In den Visitationsakten von Książ Wielki aus dem Jahre 1783 wurde auch festgehalten, welche zum Halten von Predigten und zum Hören der Beichte berechtigende Zeugnisse die Geistlichen besaßen, seltener auch das Vorhandensein von Verzeichnissen und Messstipendien. Poniatowskis Visitationsakten verzeichneten dagegen in keiner der 16 Pfarreien des Dekanats Książ Wielki Originaldokumente aus der Zeit des Mittelalters , keine Register der Gefi rmten, der Eheankündigungen und der Teilnehmer an der Osterbeichte und auch keine Verzeichnisse aller Mitglieder der Pfarrgemeinde. Von der außerordentlich bescheidenen aktenschöpferischen Tätigkeit der Pfarrherren kann das Vorhandensein von Stempeln in einigten Pfarreien zeugen. Es muss betont werden, dass man in der Zeit vor den Polnischen Teilungen unter dem Begriff des Archivs eine Sammlung von losen Dokumenten, Kopien von Dokumenten und Kopienbüchern verstand. Dagegen wurden die Matrikelbücher und Fraternitätsalben zur Bibliothek gezählt.

    Der Autor beschreibt die Entwicklung des Pfarrgemeindenetzes auf dem Gebiet des mittelalterlichen Dekanats Zator bis zum Ende des XVI. Jhs. In dieser Zeit entstanden auf dem genannten Gebiet 71 Kirchen und Kapellen. 60 von ihnen er-füllten in verschiedenen Zeitperioden die Rolle einer Pfarrkirche. Es existierten hier damals 56 Pfarreien. Ein Teil von ihnen hörte schon im Mittelalter auf, zu existieren; einige wechselten ihren Sitz. Die Mehrzahl der Kirchen (36 Pfarrkirchen und eine Filialkirche) entstanden bis 1325. Wegen mangelnder Quellen kann man in den meisten Fällen die genaue Zeit ihrer Gründung nicht angeben. Auf Grund einer speziellen Methode kann man möglicherweise die ältesten Kirchen nennen, die mit ihrer Herkunft vielleicht bis ins XI. und XII. Jh. zurückreichen. Diese Gruppe zählt etwa zehn Kirchen. In den nächsten Perioden, deren chronologische Grenzen die eine einigermaßen vollständige Pfarrstruktur des Dekanats in einem bestimmten Zeitabschnitt (1325-1358, 1480, 1598) wiedergebenden Durchschnittsquellen ausmarken, hört die Dynamik des Pfarrgemeindenetzes allmählich auf. Seit Ende des XVI. Jhs. entstehen auf diesem Gebiet keine neuen Kirchen mehr, bis an das Ende der Republik Polen. Das hängt sicherlich mit der Tatsache zusammen, daß Bedürfnisse der Ortsbewohner zufriedengestellt und Kolonisationsprozesse beendet worden sind. Die Entwicklung des Pfarrgemeindenetzes ist eng verbunden mit der Siedlungsentwicklung, mit politischer Situation und gesellschaftlichen Erscheinungen (Stiftungsaktionen der machthaberischen Familien und kirchlichen Institutionen). Auf dem Gebiet des Dekanats Zator hat die deutsche Kolonisation deutliche Spuren hinterlassen. Das steht im Zusammenhang mit der Existenz einer großen Anzahl von den eins oder zwei Dörfer umfassenden Kirchen und Pfarreien.

    After Poland regained independence the role of decanal conferences of priests became more important. Regular conventions of decanal clergy positively influenced pastoral work, introduced order in it, unified its aims and methods of work. They also played an important role in solving the local priests' problems concerning their living standards. The bishop appreciated the significance of decanal conferences, perceiving an important element of the management system and control of the diocese in them. In 1926 a diocesan director of pastoral conferences was appointed, his aim being, among others, to set subjects for discussion at priests' conventions. The conferences became an important instrument for learning about priests' opinions and their attitudes as well as for shaping them by the diocese authorities.

    Celem poniższego artykułu jest ocena dostępności pieszej, rowerem i samochodem do kościołów parafialnych wchodzących w skład dekanatu uniejowskiego. W opracowaniu uwzględniono dziesięć parafii. Do zbadania dostępności transportowej wykorzystano metodę izochronową. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych analiz przedstawiono powierzchnię zabudowy mieszkaniowej w izochronach: 0‒5 min, 5‒10 min, 10‒15 min, 15‒20 min, 20‒25 min, 25‒30 min do kościołów parafialnych dekanatu uniejowskiego. Otrzymane wyniki dowodzą, że znacząca część obszaru dekanatu uniejowskiego posiada dobrą dostępność rowerem i samochodem osobowym do kościołów parafialnych. Praca ta może stać się punktem wyjścia kolejnych analiz dotyczących dostępności transportowej kościołów parafialnych, nie tylko w kontekście dekanatu, ale również na gruncie całego kraju.
    The purpose of this article is to assess the pedestrian, bicycle and car accessibility of parish churches in Uniejów decanate. The study covers ten parishes. To examine transport accessibility, the isochrone method was used. Based on the conducted analysis, the housing areas have been presented in isochrones: 0–5 min, 10–15 min, 15–20 min, 20–25 min, and 25–30 min to Uniejów decanate parish churches. The obtained results show that most of this area has good bicycle and transport accessibility. This study can provide a starting point for further analyses of this issue at the scale of the country as a whole.

    W artykule przedstawiono zachowane archiwalia dziekańskie dotyczące dekanatu wałeckiego. Biskup poznański dla terytoriów zanoteckich utworzył w XIV wieku oficjalat kalisko-wałecki. W wyniku reformacji w połowie XVI wieku oficjalat przestał istnieć. W 1602 r. tereny pozostałe przy katolicyzmie włączono do utworzonego dekanatu czarnkowsko-wałeckiego. Po I rozbiorze Rzeczpospolitej na terenach ziemi wałeckiej reaktywowano oficjalat dla Prus Zachodnich. Pod koniec XVIII wieku wydzielono autonomiczny dekanat wałecki, który pokrywał się z terytorium powiatu poza Czaplinkiem z prowincji Pomorze. Początkowo składał się z 12 parafii i 34 kościołów filialnych. W XX wieku kilka filii stało się samodzielnymi ośrodkami duszpasterskimi. Zachowane archiwalia (159 poszytów) podzielono na dwie części: Generalia, dotyczące problematyki całego dekanatu, dzieląc je na dalsze serie, i Specjalia dotyczące poszczególnych parafii. Zachowane akta pochodzą od końca XVIII wieku do 1945 r.
    The article presents the preserved dean’s archives concerning the Walcz (Wałcz) deanery. In the 14th century, the bishop of Poznan (Poznań) created the Kalisz-Walcz (Wałcz) official office for the territories behind the Notec (Noteć). As a result of the Reformation, in the mid-16th century the official office ceased to exist. In 1602, the areas remaining under Catholic Church administration were incorporated into the newly created Czarnkow (Czarnków)-Walcz (Wałcz) deanery. After the First Partition, the official office for West Prussia was reactivated in the area of Walcz (Wałcz). At the end of the 18th century, the autonomous deanery of Walcz (Wałcz) was established, which coincided with the territory of the poviat, except for Czaplinek, of the Pomeranian province. Initially, it consisted of 12 parishes and 34 branch churches. In the 20th century, several branches became independent pastoral centres. The preserved archives (159 notebooks) were divided into two parts: Generalia, concerning the issues of the entire deanery, divided into further series, and Specialties concerning individual parishes. The preserved files date from the end of the 18th century until 1945.

    Der vorliegende Artikel befaßt sich mit der Entstehung der ersten Landdekanate in der Diözese Krakau. Vieles spricht dafür, daß diese kirchlichen Verwaltungseinheiten im Rahmen der von Bischof Gedka durchgeführten Reform der Territorialstruktur der Diözese ins Leben gerufen wurden. Diese Aktion scheint an der Wende der sechziger und siebziger Jahre des 12. Jahrhunderts stattgefunden zu haben. Der Artikul bildet außerdem den Versuch einer Rekonstruktion des ursprünglichen Dekanatsnetzes der Diözese Krakau und in der Folge auch des quantitativen Kirchenbestandes in Kleinpolen am Ende des 12. Jahrhunderts.

    Artykuł ma na celu przybliżenie konfliktu, który rozegrał się w latach 60. i 70. XIX wieku w podkrakowskiej parafii Zielonki pomiędzy dziedzicem dworu Marszowiec a wikariuszami tejże parafii. Sprawa nie tylko toczyła się w podkrakowskiej wsi, ale także na wokandzie krakowskiego konsystorza biskupiego za pośrednictwem skarg i donosów. W artykule zostały zaprezentowane wyniki badania przyczyn sporu, jego przebieg, rozstrzygnięcie oraz konsekwencje, które musiały ponieść obie strony. Praca jest także przyczynkiem do badań oddziaływania posługi administratora apostolskiego ks. bpa Antoniego Gałeckiego na duchowieństwo i wiernych w pomniejszych parafiach.
    The article intends to outline the conflict between the squire of the Marszowiec estate and the curates of the Zielonki parish near Krakow in the 1860s and 1870s. Not only did the situation take place in the village, but related complaints and denunciations were also investigated by the Krakow Bishops’ Consistory. The article presents the findings of an investigation of the causes of the dispute, its course, settlement and consequences for both parties. The study is also a contribution to the research on the impact of the service of administrator apostolic Rev. Bishop Antoni Gałecki on clergy and the faithful in smaller parishes.
