    Opis:
    Aim. The article discusses the status of the Greek Catholic Church from 1948 to 1950. It also presents how this period was presented through media. Since it is possible to investigate this aspect within the framework of a comparison of several media channels, we have decided to introduce the comparison through the perspective of the daily-newspaper Rudé právo. Methods. The findings of our research study are based on the data collected from archival and documentary sources, as well as professional studies and monographs related to the above-mentioned topic. Results. Based on our research topic, we can understand how the attitude towards the Greek Catholic Church changed after the events of February 1948 and what impact the change of regime had on its functioning. Regarding media, we can observe how the pressure on the Greek Catholic Church changed in relation to the regime change and individual historical events, and how the media expressed its opinion on the Church. Conclusion. Media is not only a source of information for people, but it also creates public opinion, and therefore, it was extremely important to control this state apparatus in the past. We must understand that availability of information in the 1950s and today is significantly different. Catholic periodicals were almost non-existent and thus, people often received misleading or false information. Through our research, which is presented in the tabular presentation of data, we can discover the increasing pressure against the Church, and the response of the public to the Church.

    Welche Textsorten erscheinen in den Ausgaben einer Tageszeitung im Verlaufe von siebeneinhalb Jahrzehnten? Fur deren Differenzierung wird eine Klassifikation vorgestellt, die auf entsprechende Vorarbeiten aus Medienwissenschaft und Textlinguistik aufbaut. Am Beispiel je einer Dezember-Ausgabe der „Berliner Zeitung“ aus den Jahren 1945, 1960, 1975, 1990, 2005 und 2020 werden Belege fur die unterschiedenen Textsorten gesucht. Im diachronen Vergleich tritt die starke Abhangigkeit des Textsortenrepertoires von den historischen Umstanden, aber auch von Entscheidungen der Redaktion zutage.
    Which text types have appeared in editions of a daily newspaper in the course of 75 years? A classification built on corresponding preliminary work in media studies and text linguistics has been presented in order to to show their differentiation. On the basis of the example of December issues of the “Berliner Zeitung” from the years 1945, 1960, 1975, 1990, 2005 and 2020, evidence for the differentiated text types will be sought. The diachronic comparison reveals strong dependence of the repertoire of text types on historical circumstances, but also on editorial decisions.

    Celem artykułu jest rekonstrukcja wizerunku prasowego polityki zagranicznej kanclerza O. Scholza w okresie od 8 grudnia 2021 r., czyli od dnia zatwierdzenia polityka przez Bundestag na urzędzie kanclerza RFN i w przededniu pełnoskalowej inwazji Rosji na Ukrainę (24 lutego 2022 r.), do zakończenia konferencji dotyczącej przyszłości Ukrainy odbywającej się w Arabii Saudyjskiej w Dżuddzie (6 sierpnia 2023r.). W badaniach wykorzystano metodę analizy zawartości, uzupełnioną o elementy hermeneutyki tekstu. Wizerunek O. Scholza na łamach dziennika „Gazeta Wyborcza” w obszarze prowadzonej przez niego polityki zagranicznej w kontekście wojny Federacji Rosyjskiej na Ukrainie odzwierciedla politykę zachowawczą i politykę prestiżu (zgodnie z typologią H. Morgenthaua). Medialny obraz relacji niemiecko-ukraińskich ponadto uwyraźnia u kanclerza Niemiec postawę realizmu postklasycznego w ujęciu R. Gilpina. W analizowanym dzienniku wizerunek szefa rządu RFN jest bowiem obrazem polityka mającego zamiar podtrzymywać biznesowe relacje z Rosją i podjąć na nowo politykę business as usual z Federacją Rosyjską. Olaf Scholz reprezentuje tzw. Realpolitik, w konsekwencji nie wspiera realnie (poza warstwą deklaratywną) politycznych aspiracji Ukrainy związanych z jej członkostwem w NATO i Unii Europejskiej. Artykuł zwiększa wartość poznawczą w obszarze badań nad medialnym obrazem przywódców politycznych Europy w kontekście prowadzonej przez Federację Rosyjską wojny w Ukrainie.
    The aim of this article is to reconstruct the foreign policy press image of Chancellor Olaf Scholz in the period from 8.12.2021, i.e. from the day the politician was confirmed by the Bundestag as German Chancellor and on the eve of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine (24.02.2022), to the end of the conference on the future of Ukraine taking place in Saudi Arabia in Jeddah (6.08.2023). The research used a content analysis method, supplemented by elements of text hermeneutics. The image of Scholz in the Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper in the area of his foreign policy in the context of the Russian Federation's war in Ukraine reflects conservative and prestige politics (according to Hans Morgenthau's typology). The media portrayal of German-Ukrainian relations furthermore highlights the German Chancellor's attitude of post-classical realism in Robert Gilpin's terms. In the journal analysed, the image of the head of the German government is that of a politician intent on maintaining businesslike relations with Russia and taking up a new business-as-usual policy with the Russian Federation. Scholz represents so-called Realpolitik and consequently does not realistically (apart from the declarative layer) support Ukraine's political aspirations related to its membership of NATO and the European Union. The article increases the cognitive value in the area of research on the media image of European political leaders in the context of the Russian Federation's war in Ukraine.

    Polonia, an Upper Silesian daily founded by Wojciech Korfanty in 1926, remains a mine of information not only about the situation in Upper Silesia between the wars but also a notable source for any study of Poland’s politics in that period. Polonia’s coverage of national politics is important not only because the paper presents a regional point of view but also because of the light its publications throw on the conflict between Wojciech Korfanty and Józef Piłsudski.

    Opis:
    The following article concerns the issue of point of view in Polish daily newspapers at the end of the 19th century. The daily is considered here as a coherent and cogent literary work based on fictional as well as non-fictional genres and their specific layout. The author proves that what makes the press characteristic in terms of points of view is not so much the introduction of a new, individual voice but rather the introduction of a collective perspective in several variants. Literary fictional genres serve as an instrument of the counterpoint in that they provide an individual position, usually one that is opposed to what one can read in the feature sections.

    Józef Zawadzki, the Vilnius bookseller and the editor, the animator of many important publishing undertakings, contributed extremely effectively to sustaining and the development of the scientific‑literary movement in Lithuania in the partition age. Moreover, he became involved very actively in coming into existence and publishing periodicals. He spared no effort to publish “Vilnius Daily” (in both periods of appearing it) or “Vilnius Literary Newspaper”. All action taken in this direction resulted from Zawadzki’s belief that magazines would influence the cultural life of the country very positively and be a place of the constructive criticism, as well as publishing and book advertisements. He cared about it both as the experienced editor, for whom the evaluation of published work was extremely helpful in gradual developing publishing successive initiatives, and for the bookseller caring for the information about the available writing production so that it could get through to the widest circle of recipients and arouse their interest.
