- This article presents an issue of the squirrel- cage induction motor selection in order to work with extended range of voltage supply frequency. Furthermore simplified analysis of an influence of frequency on admissible electromagnetic torque depending on rotor angular velocity has been accomplished. Two types of the motor work have been distinguished, first with the constant relation between voltage and frequency, second with the constant supply voltage. The comparison has been made between construction of a standard motor and a motor adapted to work at extended range of frequency supply voltage. The frequency was extended to around 200Hz. Some of movement characteristics of both motors were presented. A slip measurement was proposed as an additional method of estimation of an admissible instant load torque. The assessment of economical efficiency during the work, both standard motor and motor adapted to work with increased frequency of supply voltage was carried out. The possible savings on energy consumption and costs utilization costs were demonstrated. Final conclusions have been formulated based on these investigations.
