Opis:
Control of parallel quasi resonant dc link inverters (PQRDCLI) is usually based on dc link input inverter current. Instead of a direct measurement of this noise sensitive and fast changing current signal - its estimation with one step prediction may be considered. Estimation of an input inverter current is based on inverter output current measurements, applied in most of power electronics controlled ac drives. In this paper, the PQRDCLI fed induction motor (IM) with a predictive current estimation stabilizes resonant inverter output voltage slopes du/dt independently of load. By control of output voltage derivatives, reduction of overvoltage spikes and common mode motor currents is achieved. An analysis of the PQRDCLI control with a predictive current estimation strategy is verified by the Saber system simulation and experimental tests in a laboratory setup.

Opis:
Precise measurement of rail vehicle velocities is an essential prerequisite for the implementation of modern train control systems and the improvement of transportation capacity and logistics. Novel eddy current sensor systems make it possible to estimate velocity by using cross-correlation techniques, which show a decline in precision in areas of high accelerations. This is due to signal distortions within the correlation interval. We propose to overcome these problems by employing algorithms from the field of dynamic programming. In this paper we evaluate the application of correlation optimized warping, an enhanced version of dynamic time warping algorithms, and compare it with the classical algorithm for estimating rail vehicle velocities in areas of high accelerations and decelerations.

Opis:
Omówiono problematykę wyznaczania pochodnych prądów silnika synchronicznego z magnesami trwałymi (PMSM). Wyznaczone pochodne mają zastosowanie w specyficznym algorytmie estymacji położenia kątowego wirnika silnika. Wymaga to implementacji złożonego algorytmu pomiarowego w sterowniku mikroprocesorowym napędu. Omówiono podstawowe zasady pomiaru oraz przedstawiono proces strojenia algorytmu pomiarowego. Zaproponowano metodę wyznaczania uśrednionych wartości pochodnych, pozwalającą uzyskać dobrą dokładność estymacji położenia wirnika.
The paper describes the process of evaluation of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) current derivatives. The derivatives are evaluated in order to estimate rotor angular position. In currents waveforms of PMSM motor fed by a transistor inverter, current ripples caused by voltage modulation process can be noticed (Fig. 3). Those ripples are featured by near-linear current change during a time period when voltages at motor terminals are constant. Therefore, the derivatives can be estimated by differential quotient (1). The use of current derivatives instead of current values leads to a very simple rotor position estimation formula (3). However, determination of motor current derivatives requires a complex measurement algorithm. The instants of measurements have to be calculated with respect to inverter control signals and current disturbances resulting from transistor switching (Figs. 5, 7). The rules of selection of measurement instants are formulated in Section 5. The proposed measurement algorithm was implemented in an experimental test bench (Fig. 4). The process of tuning the measurement algorithm on a basis of experiments is presented (Figs. 5?8). A novel method based on evaluation of averaged derivatives was introduced. It allows obtaining the good accuracy of rotor angular position estimation.

Opis:
In recent years, 'weather routing' has been attracting increasing attention as a means of reducing costs and environmental impact. In order to achieve high-quality weather routing, it is important to accurately predict the ship's speed through ground during a voyage from ship control variables and predicted data on weather and sea conditions. Because sea condition forecasts are difficult to produce in-house, external data is often used, but there is a problem that the accuracy of sea condition forecasts is not sufficient and it is impossible to improve the accuracy of the forecasts because the data is external. In this study, we propose a machine learning method for predicting speed through ground by considering the actual values of the previous voyage’s drift speed for ships that regularly operate on the same route, such as ferries. Experimental results showed that this method improves the prediction performance of ship’s speed through ground.

Opis:
In this article, the current distribution of an antenna array in the presence of mutual coupling is calculated analytically by solving Pocklington’s integral equation. Blockpulse and Galerkin’s functions are used for numerical solving of Pocklington’s integral equation. In this work, the surface current distribution can be achieved for an antenna array in receiving mode, with any arbitrary structure and various numbers of elements. In all previous works, the authors have been tried to solve Pocklington’s integral equation for a single half dipole antenna in transmitting mode. Pocklington’s equation is somehow difficult to work with because of the singularity and existence of a sharp peak for a small value of wire’s radius. In order to calculate surface current distribution, for thin wires, singularity part is extracted from the kernel in aforementioned integral. Hence, the kernel is decomposed into singular and nonsingular parts. An inter-element mutual coupling effect between array elements and self-coupling for each element are assumed in this case. The validity of the proposed methodology is tested by numerical simulation results. The accuracy of the proposed method is evaluated by the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm for different scenarios to direction of arrival (DOA) estimation.

Opis:
To ensure an effective walking over uneven terrain for multilegged walking robots, there is necessary to detect the contact between the leg’s tips and the ground. It is essential to determine the moment when we should end the swing phase of the leg. This paper presents a method of detecting contact with the ground based on total current drawn by the servomotors of each robot’s legs. The method was developed using a 4-legs supported gait on 5-legged walking robot – PentOpiliones. This detection method has been tested and positively verified on a real robot. Also there has been tested the limitation of above method using a gait with different robot postures and different speeds.

Opis:
The results of measurements of permanent control sample plots (skpp) were used to update the growing stock of individual stands in the State Forests IT System (SILP). The calculation was based on Bayesian estimation. Several update methods were used differing in the principles of estimating the initial growing stock. The growing stock update results for the whole forest and individual age classes were similar for all the applied methods. The volume of the estimated increment and the recorded cuts in SILP was lower compared to the measurement results in skpp. In addition to the periodical correction of the SILP data, the application of skpp would enable reduction in the intervals between the growing stock inventories (to 20−30 years) performed on the basis of a relatively large number of temporary sample plots.
