    Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to present an idea for understanding cultural processes in the organizational�discourse from the perspective of four paradigms in management sciences based on the concept of G. Burrell and G. Morgan. Methodology: The author has elaborated a valuable list of structures of the scientifi c theory based on the respective paradigms and has compared cultural paradigms in management sciences. The methodology involves an analysis of classical and recent world literature. Nowadays there is no consensus on the defi nitions, types or research models of organizational culture. Originality: In the literature on the subject we can fi nd many, sometimes contradictory cultural research studies that require further analysis. Precisely because of the diversity and complexity of cultural issues in management sciences a multi-paradigmatic analysis is necessary. The paper presents a proposal for a pluralistic approach to the theory and methodology of cultural studies in management sciences

    In spite of the differences in the interpretation of early medieval graves of the discussed Norman or Ruthenian attribution, derivatives of different theoretical and cognitive paradigms, successive generations of researchers are united in their conviction of the exceptional nature of these graves in the Oder-Vistula interfluve. Archaeologists are also unanimous in treating them as burials from the 2nd half of the 10th to the 1st half of the 11th century which present a set of specific burial practices, distinguishingone of the groups of the secular elite of the first Piast state. However, researchers have different views on ethno-cultural valorisation of the discovered objects. In this case, the author maintains his earlier opinion that the burial practices of the individuals buried there are ‘rooted’ in the Scandinavian model of funerary culture of the Viking period. However, in the research process, it cannot be a sufficient premise for prejudging the ethnos. In order to give credibility to the conclusions, in line with the modern model of integrated multidisciplinary research, the hypotheses formulated by archaeology require verification by the results of molecular and isotopic studies of human bones. Limiting the ethnic study of archaeology’s necropolis sources to the indications of bio- and geochemistry is cognitively inadequate, as aDNA analyses only establish biological affinities. Isotopic studies determine the relationship of a deceased person to a specific geographical region, in both cases providing no insight into important aspects of early medieval human life like the mentality-determining membership of a socially and politically organised religious and mythic-ethnic-cultural community.

    Współczesna przestrzeń komunikacji i dialogu coraz częściej łączy lokalne i globalne wymiary interakcji kulturowych, tworząc nową transterytorialną wymianę nie tylko informacji, lecz także wartości, postaw oraz wzorców relacji społecznych. Dzieją się one w rzeczywistości realnej, a coraz częściej również w rzeczywistości wirtualnej oraz hybrydalnej, która łączy je w postać synergetycznych powiązań, przepływów i jakościowo nowych form rzeczywistości. Łatwość, z jaką w przestrzeni wirtualnej zachodzi nakładanie się treści różnych kultur, zmusza do postawiania pytania o charakter współczesnych relacji kulturowych, które łatwo i szybko przenoszą się w świat wirtualny i hybrydalny, wyznaczając nowe warunki oraz przebieg i teść dialogu międzykulturowego. Poszerzenie się współczesnej przestrzeni dyskursu otwiera nowe możliwości, ale także zagrożenia, których nie jesteśmy jeszcze świadomi. Nauki humanistyczne muszą wypracować nowe spojrzenie na coraz bardziej zmieniającą się i komplikującą swój charakter rzeczywistość dialogu, która zmienia rolę „miejsca”, „czasu”, relacji międzyludzkich, więzi społecznych, poczucia bliskości, wymiarów wspólnoty kulturowej oraz jej fundamentalnych wartości. Aby zrozumieć dynamikę tych zmian oraz nowe wyzwania dialogu międzykulturowego, nauki społeczne i humanistyczne muszą wypracować odpowiednie paradygmaty postrzegania, definiowania i analizy podstawowych kategorii.
    Contemporary space of communication and dialogue increasingly connects local and global dimensions of cultural interactions, creating a new transterritorial exchange not only of information but also of values, attitudes and patterns of social relations. They occur both in real world but more and more in virtual and hybrid reality, which combines them into synergetic connections, flows, but also qualitatively new forms of reality. The ease with which virtual space overlaps with the content of different cultures forces us to ask questions about the nature of contemporary cultural relationships, which are as easily and quickly moving into the virtual and hybrid world by setting new conditions, but also the course and the process of intercultural dialogue. Expanding the contemporary discourse space opens up new opportunities, but also threats we are not yet aware of. Humanities need to develop new insights into the ever-changing and complex nature of dialogue that changes the role of “place”, “time”, interpersonal relationships, social bonds, sense of closeness, dimensions of the cultural community and its fundamental values. In order to understand the dynamics of these changes and the new challenges of intercultural dialogue, the social sciences and the humanities must work out the corresponding paradigms of perceiving, defining, and analyzing its fundamental categories.

    The author demonstrates that since the times of Saussure, linguistics has affected other humane disciplines in the sphere of methodology. Above all, it shaped the methodologies of literary studies (especially poetics), but also the theory of culture, cultural anthropology, ethnography, ethnology, and sociology. According to the author, the external influence of the transformational-generative paradigm was relatively the weakest.
    Autor dowodzi, że od czasów Saussure’a językoznawstwo wywierało na płaszczyźnie metodologicznej wpływ na inne dyscypliny humanistyczne – przede wszystkim na literaturoznawstwo (zwłaszcza na poetykę), ale także na teorię kultury, antropologię kulturową, etnografię i etnologię czy socjologię. Relatywnie najsłabsze, zdaniem autora, było zewnętrzne oddziaływanie paradygmatu generatywno transformacyjnego.

    Ekscerpty Jean Paula (1763-1825) stanowią jedyny w swoim rodzaju zbiór wypisów z wszystkich dostępnych pisarzowi źródeł pisanych, niedający się porównać z innymi tego typu zbiorami w Niemczech na przełomie XVIII i XIX wieku. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie sztuki ekscerpowania Jean Paula i wskazanie — na podstawie wybranych przykładów — na jej fundamentalne znaczenie dla jego twórczości literackiej w kontekście historycznej zmiany paradygmatu wiedzy i kryzysu możliwości poznawczych, z jakim mamy do czynienia pod koniec XVIII wieku. Pojęciem kluczowym jest tu zbieranie, rozumiane za Manfredem Sommerem nie tylko jako nastawione na cele praktyczne kolekcjonowanie, ale przede wszystkim jako czynność zachowująco-estetyczna. Ekscerpty niemieckiego pisarza dokumentują zderzenie tradycji z nowoczesnością, uniwersalności ze specjalizacją, antycypując techniki zarządzania wiedzą i metody redukcji złożoności, które będą charakterystyczne dopiero dla epoki mediów elektronicznych.
    The excerpts of Jean Paul (1763-1825) present a unique collection of extracts from all written and accessible sources used by this writer. It is incomparable to any other collections existing in Germany around 1800. The aim of the article is to describe Jean Paul's art of excerpting and, based on compelling examples, to show its fundamental significance for his literary work, taking into consideration the historical shift of knowledge paradigms and the crisis of cognitive posibilities of man taking place at the end of the 18th century. The key concept is collection which, according to Manfred Sommer, means more than just a procedure driven by practical aims. In substance, it aims at preserving knowledge and putting it into an esthetical order. The German writer’s excerpts document the collision of tradition and innovation, universality and specialization. They anticipate several techniques of knowledge management and complexity reduction which will be characteristic as late as in the age of electronic media.
