In the present paper optimal time-invariant state feedback controllers are designed for a class of discrete time-varying control systems with Markov jumping parameter and quadratic performance index. We assume that the coefficients have limits as time tends to infinity and the boundary system is absolutely observable and stabilizable. Moreover, following the same line of reasoning, an adaptive controller is proposed in the case when system parameters are unknown but their strongly consistent estimators are available.

Pole assignment by feedback control of the second order coupled singular distributed parameter systems is discussed via functional analysis and operator theory in Hilbert space. The solutions of the problem and the constructive expression of the solutions are given by the generalized inverse one of bounded linear operator. This research is theoretically important for studying the stabilization and asymptotical stability of tlie second order coupled singular distributed parameter systems.

Comparison results of the nonlinear scalar Riemann-Liouville fractional differential equation of order q, 0 < q ≤ 1, are presented without requiring Hölder continuity assumption. Monotone method is developed for finite systems of fractional differential equations of order q, using coupled upper and lower solutions. Existence of minimal and maximal solutions of the nonlinear fractional differential system is proved.

In high-performance optical systems, small disturbances can be sufficient to put the projected image out of focus. Little stochastic excitations, for example, are a huge problem in those extremely precise opto-mechanical systems. To avoid this problem or at least to reduce it, several possibilities are thinkable. One of these possibilities is the modification of the dynamical behavior. In this method the redistribution of masses and stiffnesses is utilized to decrease the aberrations caused by dynamical excitations. Here, a multidisciplinary optimization process is required for which the basics of coupling dynamical and optical simulation methods will be introduced. The optimization is based on a method for efficiently coupling the two types of simulations. In a concluding example, the rigid body dynamics of a lithography objective is optimized with respect to its dynamical-optical behavior.
W systemach obiektywów wysokiej klasy nawet małe zakłócenia mogą spowodować nieostrość projekcji obrazu. Ogromny problem dla tych niezwykle precyzyjnych systemów optyczno-mechanicznych stanowią na przykład niewielkie pobudzenia o charakterze stochastycznym. Jest do przemyślenia szereg środków, by uniknąć związanych z tym problemów, a przynajmniej by je ograniczyć. Jedną z takich możliwości jest modyfikacja właściwości dynamicznych. W metodzie tej, w celu zmniejszenia aberracji powodowanych przez pobudzenia dynamiczne, stosuje się redystrybucję mas i sztywności systemu. Wymagany w tym przypadku jest multidyscyplinarny proces optymalizacyjny, dla potrzeb którego w artykule wprowadza się podstawy połączonych dynamicznych i optycznych metod stymulacji. Optymalizacja jest oparta na metodzie zapewniającej efektywne połączenie tych dwu typów stymulacji. W końcowym przykładzie przedstawiono optymalizację dynamiki ciała sztywnego reprezentującego obiektyw litograficzny pod kątem jego właściwości dynamiczno-optycznych.

The problem of exponential decay for solutions of porous-thermoelasticity system, when time t ->∞ is studied. For sufficiently small values of parameter of intensity of elasticity-porosity interactions the exponential decaying is established. The idea of compact decoupling is applied for the system of equations. Exponential decay is proved first for the simpler decoupled system, then the prop erty is derived for the original system.

Opis:
Different approaches employed for dusty plasmas, ranging from single particle description (valid for low dust densities) to models appropriate in the presence of dense dusty clouds, are briefly reviewed. For environments with high dust density, a selection of examples is provided to elucidate phenomena arising in dusty plasmas when the effects of absorption of plasma particles on the dust surfaces and dust charge fluctuations are of importance and cannot be neglected.

We consider the coupling of multistable nonidentical systems. For small values of the coupling coefficient the behavior of the coupled system strongly depends on the actual position of trajectories on their attractors in the moment when the coupling is introduced. After reaching the coupling threshold value, this dependence disappears. We give an evidence that this behavior is robust as it exists for a wide range of parameters and different types of coupling. We argue why this behavior cannot be considered as a dependence on the initial conditions.

W pracy przedstawiony został układ regulacji poziomu wody wykorzystujący sterowanie ślizgowe. Zaprezentowany algorytm sterowania ślizgowego opiera się na nieliniowej powierzchni ślizgania pierwszego rzędu. Niedogodnością sterowania ślizgowego są efekty częstych przełączeń sygnału sterowania, co niekorzystnie wpływa na trwałość i pracę urządzenia wykonawczego, w tym przypadku pompy. W celu usunięcia tej niedogodności w regulatorze ślizgowym, zamiast funkcji przekaźnikowej została zastosowana funkcja ograniczająca, wprowadzająca warstwę graniczną na powierzchni ślizgowej, co powoduje zlikwidowanie oscylacji (chatteringu). Na działanie algorytmu sterowania ślizgowego bardzo niekorzystnie wpływają również szumy pomiarowe, które usunięte zostały poprzez zastosowanie rozszerzonego filtru Kalmana. Ocena jakości pracy zaprojektowanego regulatora ślizgowego przeprowadzona została w oparciu o badania symulacyjne. Uzyskaną jakość pracy zaprojektowanego regulatora ślizgowego porównano z układem równoważnym zawierającym regulator liniowy PID.
The paper presents a system to control water level using sliding mode. The presented sliding mode control algorithm is based on a non-linear sliding surface of the first order. The drawback of sliding mode control are effects of frequent switching of control signal, what adversely affects the stability and the operation of the actuator, in this case the pump. In order to remove this drawback in the slide control instead of the relay function, the limiting function was applied, introducing a constraining layer on the slide surface, thereby causing chattering. The behavior of the sliding mode control algorithm is very adversely affected by the measurement noises, which were removed using the extended Kalman filter. Evaluation of the work quality of designed sliding mode control was carried out based on the simulation test. Obtained work quality of the designed sliding mode control was compared with the equivalent system containing linear PID controller.

Sanitary chemistry is a component of environmental chemistry, based on the issues of general, organic and instrumental chemistry. The level of chemistry development is important for the development of other scientific disciplines such as: environmental engineering or planning, design and protection of the environment. These disciplines are mentioned in the areas of technical, natural and agricultural sciences. As part of the sanitary chemistry research in two directions: the study of water and wastewater quality are conducted. The studies include an assessment of water quality of surface- and groundwater, which are the source of water supply for: population, industry and agriculture, water treatment processes and water monitoring. The wastewater research are concerning the wastewater introduced into the sewage system, wastewater treatment plants and to the receivers. The development of sanitary chemistry involves the development of analytical techniques and procedures in order to determine a greater number of pollutants in water and wastewater and enhancing the accuracy of compounds which has been already designated. Therefore, in framework of sanitary chemistry development following actions are performed: improvement of research procedures including the validation, design and construction of new measuring and control devices, automation of test equipment, including the coupled systems, determination of trace-level components: micro-pollutants, metabolic products, intermediate products, water and wastewater treatment, determination of "emerging contaminants", development of solvent-free techniques, minimization of cost, energy and the waste materials emission, the extension the scope of speciation analysis and their applications, development of biological methods in chemical analysis, introduction the continuous analysis into monitoring, improvement of the quality of chemical analysis results, statistical processing of chemical analysis, which allows on forecasting changes in water quality. Trends in the sanitary chemistry development in the world indicate a continuous improvement of analytical techniques and measurement and control appliances, the elaboration of new analytical procedures and develop existing ones.

This work studies the dependence of the solution with respect to interface geometric perturbations, in a multiscaled coupled Darcy flow system in direct variational formulation. A set of admissible perturbation functions and a sense of convergence is presented, as well as sufficient conditions on the forcing terms, in order to conclude strong convergence statements. For the rate of convergence of the solutions we start solving completely the one dimensional case, using orthogonal decompositions on the appropriate subspaces. Finally, the rate of convergence question is analyzed in a simple multi dimensional setting, by studying the nonlinear operators introduced due to the geometric perturbations.

Modelowanie agentowe (ABM) jest przykładem geomodelowania opartego na wykorzystaniu i przetwarzaniu danych przestrzennych czyli związanych z systemami informacji geograficznej. Jest to jedna z najlepiej przystosowanych metod służących do modelowania sprzężonych systemów naturalnych i społecznych (CHANS), a zarazem relacji człowiek-środowisko. System odzwierciedlany w modelu agentowym składa się z obiektów i elementów umieszczonych w przestrzeni modelowej, która stanowi modelowy obraz Pojezierza Gnieźnieńskiego, a kluczową rolę w całym procesie odgrywają agenci – jednostki decyzyjne modelu, którymi w omawianym systemie są rolnicy. Opracowany model agentowy służy do symulacji zmian pokrycia terenu i użytkowania ziemi będących jednym z istotniejszych syntetycznych wskaźników przemian w środowisku geograficznym. Prezentowany model agentowy oparty jest na schemacie działania związanym z przystępowaniem rolników do wybranych pakietów Programu Rolnośrodowiskowego 2007-2013, które wymuszają na nich ściśle określone działania proekologiczne. Model umożliwia modelowanie różnych scenariuszy postępowania rolników, przez co pozwala uzyskać zarówno realne, jak i abstrakcyjne (100% zainteresowania ofertą PRŚ) konfiguracje pokrycia terenu i użytkowania ziemi. Ten sposób modelowania jest szczególnie przydatny w kontekście funkcjonowania środowiska geograficznego opartego o ścisłe relacje człowiek-środowisko. Dodatkowo może służyć, jako narzędzie wykorzystywane w procesie wspierania podejmowania decyzji, w prognozowaniu rozwoju środowiska, w planowaniu przestrzennym oraz w ocenie oddziaływania na środowisko.
Agent-based modeling is an example of geomodeling based on spatial data, i.e. the data connected withgeographic information systems. Using agent-based modeling makes it possible to simulate functioning of natural systems, social systems or coupled human and natural systems (CHANS). ABM approach is one of the best-adapted methods for modeling coupled social-natural systems due to its characteristic elements – agents. When a system is reflected in the model it is built of objects and elements placed in the model space. A key role in the whole process is played by agents – individual decision-making model entities. The agent-based model developed for this paper is created to simulate changes in land use and land cover and to show the environmental effects of this process, which is one of the most important synthetic indicators in the geographical environment. The model developed can be used for different space scales and it based on the process in which farmers take action participation in selected packages of Agri-environmental Programme 2007-2013, which require them to strictly defined environmental activities. The model allows to simulate different scenarios of implemented decision role, thereby resulting in different, both real and abstract, configurations of land use and land cover patterns. This way of modeling is especially useful in the context of CHANS. It can serve as a tool in supporting decision-making processes, in predicting the environmental changes and development, spatial planning and environmental impact assessment.

In this article an upscaling model is presented for complex networks with highly clustered regions exchanging/trading quantities of interest at both, microscale and macroscale level. Such an intricate system is approximated by a partitioned open map in R2 or R3. The behavior of the quantities is modeled as flowing in the map constructed and thus it is subject to be described using partial differential equations. We follow this approach using the Darcy Porous Media, saturated fluid flow model in mixed variational formulation.

In this article, an engineering/physical dynamic system including losses is analyzed inrelation to the stability from an engineer’s/physicist’s point of view. Firstly, conditions for a Hamiltonian to be an energy function, time independent or not, is explained herein. To analyze stability of engineering system, Lyapunov-like energy function, called residual energy function is used. The residual function may contain, apart from external energies, negative losses as well. This function includes the sum of potential and kinetic energies, which are special forms and ready-made (weak) Lyapunov functions, and loss of energies (positive and/or negative) of a system described in different forms using tensorial variables. As the Lypunov function, residual energy function is defined as Hamiltonian energy function plus loss of energies and then associated weak and strong stability are proved through the first time-derivative of residual energy function. It is demonstrated how the stability analysis can be performed using the residual energy functions in different formulations and in generalized motion space when available. This novel approach is applied to RLC circuit, AC equivalent circuit of Gunn diode oscillator for autonomous, and a coupled (electromechanical) example for nonautonomous case. In the nonautonomous case, the stability criteria can not be proven for one type of formulation, however, it can be proven in the other type formulation.

The article describes the research on the impact of the type of system for introduction of samples into ICP plasma on selected parameters associated with the limit of detection. For this purpose, several sample introduction systems were chosen and tested by assessing the selected analytical parameters: Limit of Detection (LOD) and, additionally, Background Equivalent Concentration (BEC). The tests were carried out for 26 elements for which 48 spectral lines were selected. The sum of LOD and BEC values (determined for each line of a given element, for each of the sample introduction systems) were used for general comparison of the applied sample introduction systems. Based on the obtained results, the best sample introduction systems were selected for multi-element analysis, for which the lowest total LOD and BEC values were obtained. Graphs were also prepared showing the dependence of each of the LOD and BEC parameters on the spectral lines of selected elements. The analysis of the graphs allowed for grouping selected elements, based on the lines provided for measurements, in terms of the impact of the applied sample introduction system on LOD and BEC parameters, into three groups: element lines for which the weak influence of the used sample introduction system on LOD and BEC parameters is observed. This group includes the following element lines: Be 313.042, Cd 214.438, Cd 226.502, Mg 279.553, Mg 280.270, Mg 258.213, Mn 257.611, Mn 259.373, Sr 407.771 and Sr 421.552, element lines for which a moderate effects of the applied sample introduction system on LOD and BEC parameters are observed. This group includes the following element lines: Ag 328.068, As 189.04, As 193.759, Cu 324.754, Cu 327.396, Tl 190.090, V 292.402, V 292.464, V 311.071 and element lines for which the largest impact of the applied sample introduction system on LOD and BEC parameters is observed, this group includes the following element lines: K 766.491, Na 588.995, Na 589.592, Se 204.050, Sb 217.581, Ca 393.336. This information can be helpful when selecting the system for introduction of samples into the ICP OES spectrometer enabling the determination of a given element with the lowest detection limit.
