The paper presents the results of research on nanocomposite nickel/graphene oxide (Ni/GO) coatings produced by electrochemical reduction method on a steel substrate. Discussed is the method of manufacturing composite coatings with nickel matrix and embedded graphene oxide flakes. For comparative purposes, the studies also included a nanocrystalline Ni coating without embedded graphene oxide flakes. Graphene oxide was characterized by Raman spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and transmission (TEM) and scanning (SEM) electron microscopy. Results of studies on the structure of nickel and composite Ni/GO coatings deposited in a bath containing different amount of graphene oxide are presented. The coatings were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, light microscopy, Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The adhesion of the prepared coatings to the substrate was examined by the scratch method. The microhardness of the coatings was measured using the Vickers method on perpendicular cross-sections to the surface. Corrosion tests of the coatings were investigated using the potentiodynamic method. The influence of graphene oxide on the structure and properties of composite coatings deposited from baths with different content of graphene oxide was determined.

W artykule dokonana jest ocena wpływu oddziaływania roztworu chlorku sodu jako jednego z najbardziej niebezpiecznych związków stymulujących procesy korozji na wybrane właściwości mechaniczne powłok akrylowych. Badane powłoki nałożone były zarówno na podłoże stalowe, jak i podłoże stalowe ocynkowane. W badaniach uwzględniono tradycyjne materiały rozpuszczalnikowe oraz wodorozcieńczalne charakteryzujące się obniżoną zawartością lotnych związków organicznych. Odporność powłok na działanie mgły solnej oznaczono na podstawie normy PN-C-81523:1988.
In the article was assessed the influences of the sodium chloride solution as one of the most dangerous compounds to stimulate of corrosion processes on selected mechanical properties of acrylic coatings. Tested coatings were imposed both on galvanized and ungalvanized base steel. The study included the traditional solventborne materials and waterborne characterized by reduced content of volatile organic compounds. Resistant of the coatings to salt spray was determined according to the standard PN-C-81523:1988.

Mg66Zn30Ca4 alloy has specific properties, especially mechanical and corrosive, therefore, it has biomedical application as its properties are better than that of other materials. The following paper describes amorphous alloy based on magnesium, properties and shows how to produce amorphous samples of Mg66Zn30Ca4.

In this work two austenitic stainless steels, REX734 and 316LV were tested in terms of their microstructure and corrosion properties. The REX734 is a newer generation stainless steel, with modified chemical composition, in comparison to the 316LV grade. Potentiodynamic study of corrosion resistance was conducted in physiological saline solution (0.9% NaCl solution). In spite of the similarities of microstructure, grain size and phase structure in both materials, the corrosion tests revealed that the REX734, with lower nickel and higher nitrogen content, had better corrosion resistance than 316LV. Repassivation potential in the REX734 was almost six times higher than for the 316LV steel. Superior corrosion resistance of the REX734 steel was also confirmed by surface observations of both materials, since bigger and more densely distributed pits were detected in 316LV alloy.

This paper is a file of analytical information with intent to summarize so far known knowledge and to anticipate new development and possibilities of improving oxygen converter lining. Technological methods currently used in steel production put high requirements for the quality parameters of used refractory building materials. The article pursues the analysis of balance thickness of the magnesium-carbon refractory lining of basic oxygen furnace during the campaign. Development and innovation of the technologies of steel production is also reflected in increment of the requirements for magnesium-carbon refractory materials for basic oxygen furnace linings. Permanent increment in steel production has substantial influence on the refractory materials consumption in the worldwide scale. Specific methods proceedes during refining process of scrap material as quick temperatures alternation, changes in slag composition or impacts of heavy pieces of scrap material, influences destructively the basic lining of basic oxygen furnace. The static crucible corrosion test, as a simple experiment, is very useful for study of these processes because a direct observation of refractory – slag reactions in real systems is impossible. For that reason, corrosion crucible tests were adapted so that carbon basic refractories was isolated from the atmosphere by high alumina cast able cover. For such reason the high accent is put to the charge of refractory lining during the campaign which is connected with permanent increment of gunning repair refractory materials consumption. Continual increment of refractory bricks quality leads to the prolongation of time of the basic oxygen furnace campaigns.

Air abrasion process is used for cleaning casting surface of prosthetic components, and to prepare the surface of these elements for the application of veneering items. Its side effect, however, is that abrasive particles are embedded in the treated surface, which can be up to 30% of the surface and it constitutes the side effect of this procedure. Such a significant participation of foreign material can not be indifferent to the properties of the surface. Embedded particles can be the place of stress concentration causing cracking of ceramics, and may deteriorate corrosion resistance by forming corrosive microlinks. In the latter cases, it would be advisable to remove elements embedded into the surface. The simplest method is chemical etching or electrochemical one. Nevertheless, these procedures should not significantly change the parameters of the surface. Among many possible reagents only a few fulfills all the above conditions. In addition, processing should not impair corrosion resistance of titanium, which is one of the most important factors determining its use as a prosthetic restoration in the mouth. The study presented results of corrosion resistance of titanium used to make prosthetic components by means of casting method, which were subjected to chemical processing designed to remove the embedded abrasive particles. The aim of the study was to investigate whether etching with selected reagents affects the corrosion resistance of titanium castings. For etching the following reagents were used: 30% HNO3 + 3% HF + H2O, HNO3+ HF+ glycerol (1:2:3), 4% HF in H2O2, 4% HF in H2O, with a control sandblasted sample, not subjected to etching. Tests demonstrated that the etching affected corrosion properties of test samples, in each case the reduction of the corrosion potential occurred - possibly due to the removal of particles of Al2O3 from the surface and activation of the surface. None of the samples underwent pitting corrosion as a result of polarization to 9 V. Values of the polarization resistance, and potentiodynamic characteristics indicated that the best corrosion resistance exhibited the samples after etching in a mixture of 4% solution of HF in H2O2. They showed very good passivation of the surface.

Opis:
New classes of singular fractional continuous-time and discrete-time linear systems are introduced. Electrical circuits are example of singular fractional continuous-time systems. Using the Caputo definition of the fractional derivative, the Weierstrass regular pencil decomposition and Laplace transformation the solution to the state equation of singular fractional linear systems is derived. It is shown that every electrical circuit is a singular fractional systems if it contains at least one mesh consisting of branches with only ideal supercondensators and voltage sources or at least one node with branches with supercoils. Using the Weierstrass regular pencil decomposition the solution to the state equation of singular fractional discrete-time linear systems is derived. The considerations are illustrated by numerical examples.

On the basis of field studies, the protective properties of various coating systems on bridges in Poland after extended periods of operation according to PN-EN ISO 12944-1:2017 (approximately 15 years) are presented. The evaluation was carried out on the basis of visual damage assessment, tests of coating thickness and adhesion, while selected structures were tested for protective properties evaluated by impedance spectroscopy. The types of damage on the tested structures were compared. The results of the study can be used as a basis for discussion regarding the selection of optimum corrosion protection solutions for bridge structures.
Na podstawie badań terenowych określono właściwości ochronne różnych systemów powłokowych na obiektach mostowych w Polsce po około 15-letnich okresach eksploatacji (według PN-EN ISO 12944-1:2017 klasyfikowanych jako długie). Analizę przeprowadzono na podstawie wizualnej oceny zniszczeń, badań grubości i przyczepności powłok na wybranych obiektach, badań właściwości ochronnych, ocenianych metodą spektroskopii impedancyjnej. Porównano rodzaje zniszczeń zaobserwowane na poszczególnych obiektach. Wyniki badań mogą stanowić podstawę do dyskusji dotyczącej wyboru optymalnych rozwiązań w zakresie zabezpieczeń antykorozyjnych na obiektach mostowych.

The work involved research on the influence of substrate type and method of application of phosphate conversional coating on its protective properties. Microscopic examination, leak testing and protective properties of the resulting conversional coating were performed. Tests of resistance to high temperatures were also conducted. The type of substrate and the coating with the best protective properties were chosen.

Purpose: Determination of regularities of joint action of mechanical stresses, formation water and hydrate formation on corrosion of material of flow pipelines. Design/methodology/approach: According to the analysis of reservoir water of the investigated deposits, it was found that the main corrosive component is soluble chlorides. Proposed for corrosion and corrosion-mechanical tests of 6 model environments. An estimation of the influence of stress concentration, depending on the defects of the inner wall of the pipe, was carried out, and the nominal local stresses in the pipeline was carried. Findings: The basic regularities of influence of stress and hydration formation on corrosion and localization of corrosion processes and on the kinetics of deformation of samples are described. For samples made of steel 20 and 17GS, an increase in the velocity of general and local corrosion for samples sustained in the gas hydrate was observed compared to the control results obtained, the coefficient of influence of the gas hydrate on corrosion was calculated. Research limitations/implications: The obtained results are valid for thermobaric operating conditions of well flow lines. Practical implications: The data obtained in the work on the patterns of corrosion processes and the impact of hydrate formation on them will allow to identify potentially dangerous areas of flow lines and prevent emergencies. Originality/value: Based on the analysis of the geometric dimensions of the defects, the effective stress concentration coefficients are calculated, and it is shown that the stresses in the vicinity of corrosion defects in normal operating modes range from 164 to 545 MPa.

The paper presents the influence of heat treatment on the structure and corrosion resistance of X5CrNi18-10 steel. To determine the structure which has been obtained after heat treatment the methods of light and scanning electron microscopy with EDS microanalysis were used. The electrochemical corrosion properties of the investigated steel were studied in 3.5% NaCl solution using potentiodynamic polarization tests. Basing on the registered curves, the corrosion current, polarization resistance and corrosion potential were determined. The corrosion tests were followed by fractographic researches.

The article discusses tests concerning the assessment of the corrosion resistance, properties and the structure of TIG braze welded galvanised steel sheets. Test butt joints were made of 0.9 mm thick galvanised car body steel sheets DC04 (in accordancewith EN 10130), using a robotic welding station and a CuSi3Mn1 braze (in accordance with PN-EN 13347:2003) wire having a diameter of 1.0 mm. The research-related tests aimed to optimise braze welding parameters and the width of the brazing gap. The test joints were subjected to visual tests, macro and microscopic metallographic tests, hardness measurements as well as tensile and bend tests. The corrosion resistance of the joints was identified using the galvanostatic method. The tests revealed that it is possible to obtain high quality joints made of galvanised car body steel sheets using the TIG braze welding process, the CuSi3Mn1 braze and a brazing gap, the width of which should be restricted within the range of 0.4 mm to 0.7 mm. In addition, the joints made using the aforesaid parameters are characterised by high mechanical properties. The minimum recommended heat input during process, indispensable for the obtainment of the appropriate spreadability of the weld deposit should be restricted within the range of 50 kJ/mm to 70 kJ/mm. At the same time, the aforesaid heat input ensures the minimum evaporation of zinc. Joints made using the TIG braze welding method are characterised by high resistance to electrochemical corrosion. The galvanostatic tests did not reveal any traces of corrosion in the joint area.

An important factor having a negative impact on the technical condition of aircraft structure elements is the adverse effect of the atmosphere, which causes formation of corrosion in aircraft structures, especially in riveted lap joints. The electric potential difference between the sheet material and the rivet, in the presence of humid air, may cause electrochemical corrosion. The paper presents specimens that imitate the repair on the Mi-24 helicopter with the use of blind rivets in places where solid double-sided rivets could not be used.The aim of the research was to assess the corrosion resistance of lap joints with the use of single-sided and double-sided rivets. The analysis of corrosion resistance was carried out based on accelerated aging tests in a salt spray chamber. The salt chamber tests were aimed at determining the changes taking place in the specimens exposed to the marine environment. In the course of periodic observations changes in the mass of the specimens and in the form of corrosion losses were recorded. These activities were aimed at determining whether the exposure of specimens in the salt chamber causes electrochemical corrosion or pillowing. In addition, the specimens were subjected to static strength tests to assess the effect of corrosion on the strength properties of riveted joints.

The evaluation of technical state of steel gas pipelines after a long time of exploitation are presented in the paper. The evaluation methodics was exemplified. The field and laboratory results of evaluation of technical state of steel pipelines after a long exploitation time were quoted in view of the corrosion processes as well as strength tests on the pipeline material.

W artykule opisano czynności obsługowo-eksploatacyjne gazociągów kopalnianych, w celu zapewnienia chemicznej ochrony korozyjnej poprzez badanie środków chemicznych (również dwufunkcyjnych inhibitorów korozji i hydratów) w laboratorium, a następnie przetestowanie ich w kopalniach. Wykonano badania laboratoryjne, aby wybrać inhibitor, zapewniający ochronę korozyjną i hydratową podczas eksploatacji odwiertów gazowych. Następnie sprawdzono je w kopalniach. Próby przeprowadzone w kopalniach pozwoliły wyselekcjonować inhibitor, który nie powodował utrudnień eksploatacyjnych, jak również dobrze chronił metal przed korozją. Niektóre badane inhibitory powodowały utrudnienia eksploatacyjne, np. nie ograniczały w zakładanym poziomie postępu korozji (zakładana ochrona korozyjna 50μm/rok, osiągnięta podczas testów 227 μm/rok,) powodowały powstawanie osadów, które uszkodziły pompę dozującą.
This paper describes the stages of service and operation of pipelines in order to ensure chemical corrosion protection by selecting the chemical (including bifunctional corrosion inhibitors and hydrates) in the laboratory and then to test them in these processing plants. Series of laboratory tests were performed to select the inhibitor, which provides corrosion and hydrate protection during the operation of gas wells. Then they were tested in processing plants, including the objects selected for testing inhibitors: - corrosion inhibitor were tested in the processing plants: Property I, II, - corrosion inhibitor-hydrates the Property III, IV, V As part of the selection of inhibitors in the laboratory were tested upstream of the three processing plants: A, B, C. After the laboratory tests the inhibitors were tested in the processing plants. The tests carried out in the processing plants helped to select inhibitors that do not cause operational difficulties as well as well protect the metal from corrosion. Some research inhibitors cause operational difficulties such as not limited to the assumed level of corrosion progress (expected corrosion protection 50μm/rok, reached in tests 227 microns / year) resulted in the formation of deposits which damaged the dosing pump.
