Reliable measurement uncertainty is a crucial part of the conformance/nonconformance decision-making process in the field of Quality Control in Manufacturing. The conventional GUM-method cannot be applied to CMM measurements primarily because of lack of an analytical relationship between the input quantities and the measurement. This paper presents calibration uncertainty analysis in commercial CMM-based Coordinate Metrology. For the case study, the hole-plate calibrated by the PTB is used as a workpiece. The paper focuses on thermo-mechanical errors which immediately affect the dimensional accuracy of manufactured parts of high-precision manufacturers. Our findings have highlighted some practical issues related to the importance of maintaining thermal equilibrium before the measurement. The authors have concluded that the thermal influence as an uncertainty contributor of CMM measurement result dominates the overall budgets for this example. The improved calibration uncertainty assessment technique considering thermal influence is described in detail for the use of a wide range of CMM users.

Wprowadzenie państwowego systemu odniesień przestrzennych spowodowało konieczność zastąpienia układów lokalnych przez obowiązujący państwowy układ współrzędnych. Dotyczy to zarówno układów miejskich, jak i układów funkcjonujących w dużych zakładach przemysłowych. W artykule omówiono metodykę wyznaczania parametrów transformacji z układu lokalnego HiL (na obszarze dawnej Huty im. Lenina) do układu państwowego PL-2000. Na podstawie materiałów archiwalnych przedstawiono charakterystykę tego układu i sposób jego utworzenia. Podano algorytm transformacji z układu HiL do układu PL-2000 oraz sposób i wyniki weryfikacji modelu transformacji. Przedstawione w niniejszej pracy rezultaty opracowania umożliwiły włączenie osnowy geodezyjnej z obszaru HiL do osnowy szczegółowej miasta Krakowa.
The initiation of the National Spatial Reference System caused the necessity of replacing local coordinate systems by the compulsory national coordinate system. This applies to both municipal coordinate systems and coordinate systems valid within large industrial plants. This paper discusses the methodology for determining the transformation parameters from the local HiL system to the national coordinate system. The characteristic of the HiL coordinate system and the manner of its creation are presented on the basis of archival materials. The transformation algorithm from the HiL system to the PL-2000 system as well as the way and results of transformation model verification are given. The results of studies presented in this paper enabled the inclusion of the local control network from the HiL area to the detailed control network of the city of Krakow.

Differential geometry is a strong and highly effective mathematical subject for robot gripper design when grasping within the predetermined trajectories of path planning. This study in grasping focuses on differential geometry analysis utilizing the Lie algebra, geodesic, and Riemann Curvature Tensors (RCT). The novelty of this article for 2RR robot mechanisms lies in the approach of the body coordinate with the geodesic and RCT. The importance of this research is significant especially in grasping and regrasping objects with varied shapes. In this article, the types of workspaces are clarified and classified for grasping and regrasping kinematics. The regrasp has not been sufficiently investigated of body coordinate systems in Lie algebra. The reason for this is the difficulty in understanding relative coordinates in Lie algebra via the body coordinate system. The complexity of the equations has not allowed many researchers to overcome this challenge. The symbolic mathematics toolbox in the Maxima, on the other hand, aided in the systematic formulation of the workspaces in Lie algebra with geodesic and RCT. The Lie algebra se(3) equations presented here have already been developed for robot kinematics from many references. These equations will be used to derive the following workspace types for grasping and regrasping. Body coordinate workspace, spatial coordinate workspace with constraints, body coordinate workspace with constraints, spatial coordinate workspace with constraints are the workspace types. The RCT and geodesic solutions exploit these four fundamental workspace equations derived using Lie algebra.

Opis:
The fundamentals and contemporary status of topographic mapping of Ukraine's territory has been studied. Prior to declaration of Ukraine's independence, its territory was covered with 1:10,000 to 1:1,000,000 scale topographic maps made by sub-divisions of the Chief Department of Geodesy and Cartography afiliated with the Council of Ministers of the USSR (GUGK USSR) and sub-divisions of the Military Topographic Service (MTS) of the USSR Armed Forces. Topographic mapping related cooperation between these institutions has been described. Topographic study of Ukraine's territory as at 1991 has been subject to close analysis, with due consideration of the coordinate systems used for topographic maps. During the first years after Ukraine's independence declaration topographic maps in Ukraine were made according to the previously efective Soviet instructions in the 1942 coordinate systems and 1977 Baltic height system. Since mid 1990s, Ukraine enjoyed transition from analog technology of making topographic maps to digital one. The contemporary legal and statutory support of topographic mapping in Ukraine has been studied; the implementation since 1 January 2007 of the UCS-2000 national geodetic reference coordinate system and the height system measurement works have been analyzed. Focus has been made on obsolescence of information of contemporary topographic maps and on extensive deprivation of secrecy for topographic maps in 2000s. Critical for the development of topographic mapping in Ukraine is now the Law of Ukraine “On National Geospatial Data Infrastructure” adopted in 2020. The Topographic Service of the Armed Forces (TS AF) of Ukraine carried out big scopes of works to update the topographic maps related to Russia's military operations against Ukraine.

W pracy podjęto problematykę zmian (zniekształceń) długości, pola powierzchni i kąta w transformacji między państwowymi układami współrzędnych. Analizę zniekształceń wykonano dla obszaru powiatu ostrowieckiego. Transformację współrzędnych zrealizowano między układami państwowymi PL-1992 i PL-2000 oraz nowymi układami PL-LAEA i PL-LCC. W obliczenich wykorzystano algorytm badania zniekształceń w odwzorowaniu płaszczyzny na płaszczyznę. Podano zakresy zniekształceń na obszarze powiatu ostrowieckiego. Rozkład wybranych zniekształceń zilustrowano kartogramami.
At work, there has been raised the issue of changes (distortion) of length, area, and angle in the transformation between national coordinate systems. Analysis of the distortion made for ostrowieckiego County area. Transformation of the coordinate was carried out between national systems PL-1992, PL-2000 and new coordinate systems PL-LAEA and PL-LCC. The calculation uses the algorithm testing distortion in the plane of the projection onto a plane. Ranges of distortion were calculated in the area of the district ostrowieckiego. Distribution of selected distortion was illustrated by cartograms.

The article presents the method that is used to educate students pursuing a course in Machine Design Technology. The implementation of contactless measurement technology, which is becoming increasingly popular in industrial product control, was described. The sample part subjected to dimensional control was the fastening block of a 3R system electrode. Dimensional control in order to map some geometrical features of the part was conducted on a station equipped with a coordinate measuring arm and included contact-free verification of exterior dimensions.

The measurements of solids of revolution are one of the most common task in industrial practice. Therefore it is not surprising, that new solutions dedicated to improve accuracy and acceleration of measurements of rotational components are emerging. In this group, the new generation of articulating probing systems (with ability of continuous indexation) is worth mentioning. These probing devices combined with standard CMM forms the five-axis coordinate system. Such solution results in measurements acceleration and also improve measurement repeatability. Studies on this type of probing systems proved that their accuracy depends strongly on the angular orientation of probing system used during measurement. Therefore authors developed model that allows simulation of probing system errors for any orientation. This article describes an attempt to use the model to find the configuration of the probing system that would provide the highest accuracy for rotational elements measurements. The simulation results are compared to the real measurements of standard elements performed on five axis measuring system. Described prediction method could have a beneficial effect on improving the accuracy of measurements and, as a result, on reducing production costs by minimizing the risk of erroneous decision on the conformity of products with their geometric specifications.

In 2016, for the first time to the author’s knowledge, the conservation of energy and momentum was balanced for an emission and absorption of a photon that results in motion of an atom or molecule [1]. This balancing was performed by reasoning and algebra. In this paper a formal balancing of the conservation laws is presented. This includes a new operator that allows a photon to be separated between an observed value of the photon, and a value that is the difference between the observed and the emitted value of the photon at the source, for a single atom in space and a single photon source. A new method for applying the conservation of momentum to an absorption and emission of a photon is also presented, where the coordinate system, for the emitted photon, is shifted so the emitted photon is moving in the same direction as the absorbed photon.

LaserTracer (LT) systems are the most sophisticated and accurate laser tracking devices. They are mainly used for correction of geometrical errors of machine tools and coordinate measuring machines. This process is about four times faster than standard methods based on usage of laser interferometers. The methodology of LaserTracer usage to correction of geometrical errors, including presentation of this system, multilateration method and software that was used are described in details in this paper.

The article presents the validation research scheme of metrological model of coordinate measuring arm (CMA) using multifeature check. The scheme shows the comparison of the calibration results of the check using selected coordinate methods and criteria of validation. The comparison shows the insignificance of differences between the obtained results of both: metrological model of CMA and multi-position method. It evidently proves the correctness of the development of metrological model of CMA. The use of appropriate quality multifeature check also had a significant impact on the results. This check is now the most accurate measurement length check and its use for this validation process was the most suitable.

Manufacture of aircraft gearbox elements requires control of gear geometric parameters at different stages of technological process. Acceleration and automation of measurement process can affect the duration of the finished item production. In case of measurement of gear wheels using modern technologies based on numerical machines, measurement process is based on processing of numerical data obtained by measurement using coordinate measuring machines. The goal of this paper is to present the opportunity to automate the measurement process of bevel gears, using coordinated optical scanner ATOS by GOM, equipped with a turntable. Using coordinate measuring technique, you can specify a set of methods and procedures for the designation of the complex dimensions of physical objects and transform them into a computer program space of coordinate measuring devices. The topics included in the article are intended to show the capabilities of the device used to improve the measurement process and shorten its time, and hence, lower its costs. Another thing described in the paper is the impact of measurement performance in automatic mode on the quality of performance - the numerical image of scanned surface, from the standpoint of accuracy and number of collected data points in the shortest time. The article includes an analysis of conditions related to the measurement works, such as the process of preparing the model and measurement equipment and data processing capacity. The result of the work will be presented methodology for automated scanning measurements of bevel Sears.

This paper presents a new interim check device for coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) built from an AISI 1020 carbon steel bar with the incorporation of calibrated spheres. This artifact’s construction was made to make the interim checks of machines of this type faster and cheaper. Three devices were designed based on the ISO 10360-2 standard, the good practice guide No. 42 (NPL), and prominent authors’ research on the subject. The three options are presented in detail, but only one was built due to budget, size, and adaptability restrictions. An exploratory study was conducted to verify the device’s usability in two CMMs and concluded that the differences between the measurements are not significant. However, one machine had absolute variation values and a total standard deviation higher than the other, generating a larger expanded uncertainty.

Coordinate metrology determines nowadays the relevant directions of development in automated measuring systems and quality management in the field of machine industry. The essential problem of coordinate measuring technique application is the issue of accuracy assessment of performed measurements. This paper describes the development of coordinate systems modelling as a new field of assessing the accuracy of measurements carried out in a quasi-real time. The practical solutions of the so-called virtual machines and virtual measuring systems were described along with the results of their evaluation and validation methodology based on a comparison of obtained results with the results produced by the typical methods of coordinate measurements accuracy assessment.
