Opis:
Quality profiling seeks to know the quality characteristics of products and processes to improve customer satisfaction and business competitiveness. It is required to develop new techniques and tools that upgrade and complement the traditional analysis of process variables. This article proposes a new methodology to model quality control of the process and product quality characteristics by applying optimization and simulation tools. The application in the production process of carbonated beverages allowed us to identify the most influential variables on the gas content and the degrees Brix of beverage.

Opis:
In this work, a new 3-D modified WINDMI chaotic jerk system with exponential and sinusoidal nonlinearities is presented and its dynamical behaviours and properties are investigated. Firstly, some properties of the system are studied such as equilibrium points and their stability, Lyapunov exponents and Kaplan-Yorke dimension. Also, we study the new jerk system dynamics using numerical simulations and analyses, including phase portraits, Lyapunouv exponent spectrum, bifurcation diagram and Poincaré map, 0-1 test. Next, we exhibit that the new 3-D chaotic modified WINDMI jerk system has multistability with coexisting chaotic attractors. Moreover, we design an electronic circuit using MultiSim 14.1 for real implementation of the modified WINDMI chaotic jerk system. Finally, we design an active synchronization scheme for the complete synchronization of the modified WINDMI chaotic jerk systems via backstepping control.

W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono budowę i zasadę działania przeciwpancernego pocisku kierowanego Pirat z funkcją „top attack”. Pocisk przeszedł pomyślnie testy na stanowisku laboratoryjnym oraz testy poligonowe. Przedstawiono również wyniki badań symulacyjnych lotu pocisku Pirat, które porównano z wynikami badań poligonowych. Badania symulacyjne przeprowadzono w oparciu o opracowany model matematyczno-fizyczny pocisku. Uzyskane wyniki potwierdzają poprawność założeń i charakterystyk przyjętych w modelu symulacyjnym.
The paper presents the structure and principle of operation of the PIRAT anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) with the „top attack” function. PIRAT is a light anti-tank missile guided to the target using Semi-Active Laser Homing (SALH) method. A system maximum range is 2500 m. The missile has successfully passed laboratory and field tests. The results of the PIRAT missile flight simulation tests have been presented and compared with the results of field tests. The simulation tests were carried out on the basis of the created mathematical and physical models of the missile. The obtained results confirm the correctness of the assumptions and characteristics adopted for the simulation model. A distance between a missile launcher and a target during field test, presented in the paper, was 2400 m. Missile behaviour in flight was consistent with the simulation results, what is shown in figures 9, 10, and 11. The velocity of the projectile throughout the flight was sufficient to provide adequate control force. The velocity vector of the projectile at the moment of impact with the target is inclined to the horizontal plane at an angle of -26ᵒ. Approximately 0.2 s before missile hitting the target, an inclination angle of the projectile body was -35ᵒ. This is due to high value of control command signal developed by the autopilot at that moment. In the actual moment of missile hitting, the target value of control command signal was low causing a change of an inclination angle of the projectile body up to the value of -23ᵒ. It is advisable to modify the PIRAT’s missile control algorithm to increase an inclination angle of the velocity vector at the moment of missile hitting the target, as well as to increase an angle of inclination of the missile body when it hits the target.

In this work, we report a new chaotic population biology system with one prey and two predators. Our new chaotic population model is derived by introducing two nonlinear interaction terms between the prey and predator-2 to the Samardzija-Greller population biology system (1988). We show that the new chaotic population biology system has a greater value of Maximal Lyapunov Exponent (MLE) than the Maximal Lyapunov Exponent (MLE) of the Samardzija-Greller population biology system (1988). We carry out a detailed bifurcation analysis of the new chaotic population biology system with one prey and two predators. We also show that the new chaotic population biology model exhibits multistability with coexisting chaotic attractors. Next, we use the integral sliding mode control (ISMC) for the complete synchronization of the new chaotic population biology system with itself, taken as the master and slave chaotic population biology systems. Finally, for practical use of the new chaotic population biology system, we design an electronic circuit design using Multisim (Version 14.0).

Opis:
Purpose: The purpose of this article is to present a research report on a system dynamics simulation modeling and experimenting of bullwhip effect (BWE) to examine effectiveness of some selected inventory control policies with down- and upstream information flow in a Beer Distribution Game (BDG) of a supply chain structure. Design/methodology/approach: The impact of systems’ structures and decision making policies in supply chains or logistics systems are measured and analyzed by an application of systems thinking paradigms and approaches. Particularly, the continuous simulation modeling approach with systems thinking Iceberg model metaphor, allowing to focus on strategic aspects of management with some recommendation to design better structures and decision making policies are taken. For the bullwhip effect analysis of a supply chain example (based on BDG model), a System Dynamics (SD) continuous simulation modeling method with some proposals in order to analyze feedback loop dominance are undertaken to explain supply chain behaviors and to make some sensitivity analysis for decision making (inventory control) policies. Findings: The research findings outline the impact of cause - effect relations, feedback loops polarities, and decision making policies to particular behaviors of the BDG supply chain. Research limitations/implications: Because of complexity of heuristic methods for feedback loop dominance analysis only simple approach was applied (LPD), and some selected scenario for simulation experiments were undertaken resulting in limited conclusions. Practical implications: The conclusions of the research draw some practical recommendations for a design of information sharing system and an effectiveness of some inventory control policies to be applied in supply chains. Social implications: One of the systems thinking elements in practical management is an influence to mental models of managers and decision makers. Managers in supply chain systems particularly need some recommendations to avoid bullwhip effect negative impacts. Additionally, managers and also scholars still call for more research to investigate the design and decision making in supply chains, therefore systems thinking simulation research can bridge the gap between traditional operations research and management with other approaches to provide insight into supply-chain dynamics and deliver impactful suggestions to managers. Originality/value: The paper gives a concept of supply chain dynamic analysis by an application of Iceberg model systems thinking metaphor, feedback loop dominance analysis, and a measurement of some selected inventory control policies effectiveness.

A relevant identification of significant factors affecting the process of anti collision manoeuvre computation in case of moving obstacles, is necessary for getting results reliable enough and describing a proposed trajectory of such a manoeuvre as well as its realisation. The requirement for the appropriate separation, the airplane to obstacle distance, is treated as the relevant index for verification of the course of passing by manoeuvre. Subject matter of this work is the appropriate selection of mathematical models for the subsequent phases of preparation of flight trajectory passing by the obstacles. The impact of selected simplifications of mathematical model on the shape of flight trajectory and the distance between the airplane and obstacles have been studied. Considerations have been illustrated by the results of selected computer simulations of an airplane while carrying out an obstacle avoiding manoeuvre.

This paper proposes a three degrees of freedom parallel anti-swing method by the main and auxiliary cables to address the problems related to underactuated double-pendulum anti-swing for a ship-mounted jib crane. By analysing the dynamic coupling relationship between the swing of the hook and the payload, it seeks to establish an accurate dynamic model of the anti-swing device under the ship’s rolling and pitching conditions, and discusses the influence of ship excitation, the crane state, load posture and anti-swing parameters on the in-plane and out-of-plane swing angles. The analysis shows that the primary pendulum reduces the in-plane angle by 90% and the out-of-plane angle by 80%, the in-plane angle of the secondary pendulum is reduced by 90%, and the out-of-plane angle is reduced by 80%. The reliability of the simulation data is verified through experiments.

As a result of identification, four respective discrete parametric arx models were obtained, which were then subject to quality assessment. Then, a simulation model was built in the Simulink environment, which was used for simulation tests and for assessing the sensitivity of the model created using the data from 2019 as the basis and the data from 2020 for verification. The obtained results confirm the correctness of both the performed discrete parametric identification and the possibility of testing the quality of the model and its sensitivity with the use of the DAM system model in the MATLAB and Simulink environment.

Opis:
This paper deals with the problem of urban traffic control, considering public transport as a priority. According to the authors, the occupancy of a means of transport is one of the key decision variables in the process of prioritisation within a traffic signal program. This study aims to construct a method of occupancy-based traffic light priority for public transport and investigate the possibility of using this information to increase the efficiency of signal control for time loss. The mathematical model of the priority level conditioning procedure proposed in the method was tested using a microsimulation model of the intersection. The simulation results were collated and compared with an approach that does not consider vehicle occupancy. Under given traffic conditions, the use of the proposed method allows for reducing the average time losses per person in the modelled road network.

Opis:
Railway line capacity is growing in importance as a criterion for the assessment of railroad infrastructure performance. This problem is becoming more and more relevant as the demand for rail transport increases, especially considering the transport policy related to the promotion of climate-neutral means of transport. Insufficient capacity affects the stability and reliability of railway traffic operations. The analytical methods used for capacity estimation are typically insufficient to solve problems of a multicriteria nature (i.e. problems which take traffic heterogeneity and human factors into account). Optimisation methods, on the other hand, usually yield the best results if the current timetable for a given line is known. Additionally, they do not strongly consider the impact of the running characteristics of a specific train type and of the system or several systems in operation on the line (e.g. national Class B system and ERTMS/ETCS system). Therefore, this paper proposes a model and a simulation program developed in the Matlab and Simulink environment to be used to simulate on-route train movement, to study railroad capacity with different control systems, as well as for predictive train control to minimise energy losses. The authors described the assumptions adopted for the simulation program and the input parameters configurable against a specific line segment. They also discussed selected results derived from simulations of controlling the departure of trains to a railway line with the purpose of energy loss reduction.

Problems related to power control of low power-output steam turbines are analyzed. These turbines are designed to operate in distributed power generation systems. Principles of automatic control involving a single control valve are presented on the basis of experience gathered with high power-output turbines. Results of simulations of power control for a low power-output turbine are discussed. It has been proven that closing of the control system and an application of a power controller (of optimally selected parameters) improves the object dynamics (shortening of the transition period). At the same time, a lack of such optimization can results in occurrence of undesirable phenomena such as: overshoot in the generator power characteristics, elongation of the response time to disturbance or overshoot of turbine control valves.
