    This paper aims to analyze TV news of selected public information magazine programs in Poland and Germany. The contrastive analysis encompasses TV news of the first German national channel ARD and the first Polish national channel TVP1. The focus of the analysis lies on the comparison of framed programs and information service topics broadcast in the two countries’ TV stations during the time when the main topie of all TV news both in Poland and Germany was the radical change in Egypt (selected information services in January and February in 2011). The following aspects have been thoroughly analyzed: service format, share of the hard news and the soft news as well as the national and international news of the information magazine during the given time as well as time dedicated to the main topie of the day.What can be inferred from the contrastive analysis of the information services of the national channels in Poland (TVP1) and Germany (ARD) is that the same information function performed within the same format may show many various differences. While the news on TVP1 seems to compete for larger audiences (i.e., greater share of the sensational news and soft news, the role of the anchor person), the ARD-news continues to prefer a certain sound tradition by offering a classical type of information service, stressing a serious national and international information. The decision to keep an unchanged TV news presentation guarantees the ARD-news a strong market share in the information sector among other public and commercial TV stations.

    Patriotyzm – Ramowa analiza kontrastywna polsko-niemiecka na podstawie tabloidu Bild i jego polskiego odpowiednika Fakt Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie wyników analizy semantyczno-kognitywnej konceptu patriotyzm w perspektywie porównawczej niemiecko-polskiej. Dane korpusowe pochodzą z niemieckiego tabloidu Bild i jego polskiego odpowiednika Fakt. Podstawę teoretyczno-metodologiczną stanowi semantyka ramy konceptualnej. Utworzenie ramy konceptualnej pojęcia patriotyzmu opiera się na analizie zarówno kwantytatywnej, jak i kwalitatywnej, dzięki czemu zostają określone tak w języku niemieckim, jak i polskim slots wraz z default values, które następnie są ze sobą skonfrontowane. Przedmiotem badań są konteksty z leksemem patriotyzm oraz jego derywatami, znaczące frazy nominalne z wyrazem patriotyzm, jak również semantyczno-kognitywna struktura kontekstów w odniesieniu do konceptu patriotyzm.   Ziel des vorliegenden Beitrags ist es, die Ergebnisse einer semantisch-kognitiven Analyse des Konzepts Patriotismus im deutsch-polnischen Vergleich vorzustellen. Die Korpusdaten entstammen der Boulevardzeitung Bild und ihrem polnischem Pendant Fakt. Den theoretisch-methodologischen Rahmen bildet die Frame-Semantik. Die Bestimmung des Frames Patriotismus stützt sich sowohl auf eine quantitative als auch qualitative Analyse, wodurch die Leerstellen des Frames mitsamt den Standardwerten in Bezug auf die deutsche und polnische Sprache ermittelt werden. Danach werden sie miteinander konfrontiert. Der Untersuchungsgegenstand umfasst Kontexte mit dem Lexem Patriotismus und seinen Derivaten, und zwar die kontextuelle Distribution der Lexeme, saliente Nominalphrasen mit Patriotismus sowie die semantisch-kognitive Struktur der Kontexte hinsichtlich des Begriffs Patriotismus.
    This paper presents the results of a cognitive-semantic analysis of the concept patriotism in both German and Polish. The corpora data come from the tabloid Bild and its Polish counterpart Fakt. The theoretical-methodological background is Cognitive Semantics. The definition of the frame patriotism is also based on a quantitative and qualitative analysis, whereby the slots of the frame with their default values are determined with regard to German and Polish, and are then contrasted. The research object includes contexts with the lexeme patriotism and its derivatives, the contextual distribution of the lexemes, salient nominal phrases with patriotism and semantic-‑cognitive structure of the contexts concerning the concept patriotism.
    Ziel des vorliegenden Beitrags ist es, die Ergebnisse einer semantisch-kognitiven Analyse des Konzepts Patriotismus im deutsch-polnischen Vergleich vorzustellen. Die Korpusdaten entstammen der Boulevardzeitung Bild und ihrem polnischem Pendant Fakt. Den theoretisch-methodologischen Rahmen bildet die Frame-Semantik. Die Bestimmung des Frames Patriotismus stützt sich sowohl auf eine quantitative als auch qualitative Analyse, wodurch die Leerstellen des Frames mitsamt den Standardwerten in Bezug auf die deutsche und polnische Sprache ermittelt werden.     Opis:
    Das Untersuchungsfeld des vorliegenden Beitrags stellen wertend markierte nominale Derivate aus kontrastiver Sicht (Polnisch-Deutsch) dar. Es handelt sich um Neologismen oder Okkasionalismen von einer generell undurchsichtigen semantischen Struktur, deren Derivationsbasis Eigennamen bilden, und die in den beiden Sprachen meistens etymologisch identische Derivationssuffixe aufweisen, hauptsächlich lateinischer Herkunft. Das Ziel der vorliegenden Analyse ist vor allem eine Untersuchung von Derivationsschemata in Bezug auf diese Suffixe in beiden Sprachen, von dem Grad der Wirkung der Suffixe auf diese Derivate, mit Berücksichtigung der Perspektive ihrer Internationalisierung, sowie ein Vergleich der Semantik derjenigen Derivate, die unter morphologischem Aspekt sich voneinander unterscheiden, aus Sicht ihrer semantischen Analogie.
    Tematem niniejszego artykułu są nacechowane wartościująco derywaty nominalne w ujęciu kontrastywnym niemiecko-polskim. Chodzi o neologizmy lub okazjonalizmy o generalnie nieprzejrzystej strukturze semantycznej, których podstawę derywacyjną stanowią nazwy własne i które w obu językach wykazują najczęściej tożsame etymologicznie sufiksy derywacyjne, głównie pochodzenia łacińskiego. Celem analizy jest przede wszystkim zbadanie schematów derywacyjnych w odniesieniu do tychże sufiksów w obu językach, stopnia oddziaływania sufiksów na te derywaty z uwzględnieniem perspektywy ich internacjonalizacji, jak również porównanie znaczenia derywatów zróżnicowanych w aspekcie struktury morfologicznej pod kątem ich analogii semantycznej.
    The paper deals with the evaluative nominal derivatives from contrastive point of view. The focus is given to neologisms or occasionalisms that are on the whole semantically opaque, whose derivative base is constituted by proper names and which show mostly identical suffixes, primarily Latinate, in the both languages. The aim of the analysis is to investigate the derivative schemes referring to the suffixes in the both languages as well as the extent to which the suffixes influence the derivatives from the perspective of their internationalization. The other searching aspect is set to compare the meaning of the derivatives that are underlined by different morphological structures, taking into account their semantic analogy.

    The purpose of this inquiry is to set the equivalence relations between the German modal particles etwa, schon, wohl in rhetorical questions and the corresponding particles in Polish. The communicative function of the particles according to rhetoricity will be established first. The relevance of the particles meaning in causing the rhetoricity will be considered at that. The research results should provide information about the equivalence types as well as about the real use of the particles in German and Polish in terms of rhetoric.

    The present paper aims to describe the speech behaviour pattern of PROPOSAL in German and Polish. The term “speech behaviour pattern” refers to the purposeful verbal behaviour. The illocutionary content of PROPOSAL is determined in accordance with the theory of semantic primes. The contrastive analysis has the following three aspects. First, typical implementation forms of this speech behaviour pattern are described in both languages. Then, their use in concrete functional and communicative contexts is exemplified. Finally, the composition of the communicative-pragmatic field of PROPOSAL is analysed in German and Polish. Particular attention is given to the central and peripheral forms of implementation as well as to the similarities and differences in the formulation of utterances expressing PROPOSAL in German and Polish.
