The Tunnel Contour Quality Index (TCI) is an index established by Kim and Bruland for an effective management of a tunnel contour quality. It is estimated on a basis of measurements of two contour profiles within a single blasting round, using a laser profiler. However, the representativeness of measurement results obtained that way for the assessment of a contour quality of the entire blasting round is disputable. Terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) technology, combined with available numerical surface modeling tools, enables development of three-dimensional models of a monitored surface. The article reports results of TCI calculations based on TLS data. The presented TLS technique is based not only on selected cross-sections of the tunnel contour but also on the description of the morphology of the tunnel contour surface. The case study concerns measurements of the "Mały Luboń" tunnel niche, located in Naprawa, Poland. The TCI values for three blasting rounds were determined in accordance with Kim and Bruland’s guidelines and were compared to TCI values determined with the proposed TLS technique. On a basis of this comparison, it can be concluded that the results obtained with the TLS technique are more reliable and representative for description of the contour quality of the entire blasting round than results obtained with the laser profiling technique.

This paper investigated the landscape, attractiveness, and contours of teleworking in Lagos State, Nigeria. The study adopted purely qualitative techniques. The sample size was 40 participants purposively selected in 25 work organizations in both private and public sectors. Study instruments were Key Informant Interviews conducted with 20 Human Resource Practitioners and In-Depth Interviews conducted with 20 senior staff members of the selected organizations. Most organizations in Lagos were forced to adopt teleworking during or after the 2020 lockdown and its landscape in Lagos state has become wider and smoother. Study also revealed that teleworking is attractive to employees in terms of avoiding road/traffic challenges, enhances work-family balance and a viable option for individuals living with disabilities, pregnant and nursing mothers. To employers, it enhances business continuity, saves cost, and reduces concerns about disease and illnesses. The study identifies poor technological and infrastructural base, absence of labour policy framework, organizational policy, capacity building, data security issues as contours hindering effective teleworking in Lagos State. The practice of teleworking has been firmly established in Lagos State, Nigeria. Governments and Employers of labour stand to gain immensely from the adoption of teleworking if relevant social and organizational policies are made available, as well as making the operating economic and technological environments more conducive.

This paper reports the results of tillage experiments that were set up to investigate the intensity of net soil displacement and the associated tillage erosivity for mouldboard tillage carried out in direction parallel to the contour lines (contour tillage). Tillage was performed with typical set of cultivation for an average farm on soil developed from loess located on a slope with 7.5 to 13.5% decrease. Aluminium cubes of 15 cm edge-length were used as tracers. The studies showed that average translocation of soil along the slope (perpendicular to tillage direction) was 0,35 m and 0,28 m respectively for tillage with downslope and upslope direction of soil overturning. It means that each year about 2,89 Mg per hectare of soil is net displaced in downslope direction per plough operation. The studies indicated that contour moldboard tillage is also an important factor in relief and soil transformation of eroded areas.

Main route of development of an agricultural tractor construction is raise of productivity of Caterpillar at the expense of increase in working speeds and tractors and tool width. Such direction of development demands simultaneous development of running systems and suspensions of caterpillars. The analysis of possibility of application of running system with triangular Caterpillar contour in farm tractors is in-process made. The mathematical model of the Caterpillar has been developed for research conducting realised in the environment of SIMULINK. Within the limits of conducting of the analysis of a construction of running system with triangular Caterpillar contour more effective construction of a suspension of a back idler in comparison with existing suspensions has been developed. On a designed construction of a suspension the patent is gained. The spent mathematical simulation of oscillations ofa case of a tractor with various arrangements of running systems and at tractor operation on the most widespread regimes has displayed efficiency as designed circuit design of a tractor with triangular contour, and a designed construction of a suspension of a back idler. Working out of a technique of optimisation of a suspension bracket of the developed running system as a whole under concrete conditions of operation is necessary.

This article is devoted to the analysis from the viewpoint of accuracy allocation of contour points, and maintaining information about the distribution of non-derivative elements. In this article is researched the edge enhancement algorithms such as Prewitt, Sobel, Laplacian, Kirsch and evaluated their work, using some well-known performance measures. Also compared the efficacy of the researched algorithms, which was determined on the selected images with superimposed noise.

Recently leading producers of farm tractors even more often apply in running systems triangular caterpillar contour (TCC). In such running system one of the most problem knots is the back idler (BI) which is loaded by reaction from a caterpillar track and from weight of the casco having on this support. Thus the vertical component of reaction from a tension of a caterpillar track in addition loads with a tie-rod tangential force suspension bracket BI, thereby disturbing with a casco and reducing smoothness of a course of a tractor. Modelling and the analysis of dependence of affecting of vibration on a seat of the motor-man depending on applied type of a suspension bracket of a back idler are in-process executed. The analysis of parameters of smoothness of a course for the circuit design with triangular caterpillar contour and the offered suspension bracket of a back idler showed that in comparison with base configuration of a tractor of family VT On transport operations, at traffic on the soil road with the lifted tool, affectings on a seat of the operator decrease in 1,1-1,7 times in vertical and in 1.1-1.2 times in horizontal directions, at work with nominal loading, and also with Rkr=50 kN, on an eddish, provides minor alteration of smoothness of a course, the divergence of values of affecting on a seat of the operator, on the average, makes 12–19 %. In comparison with triangular caterpillar contour and "a classical" suspension bracket of a back idler, various displacement-yoke systems of a back idler, at work on transport operations, slightly influence a divergence of parameters of affecting on a seat of the operator which make 2.6 % and 4 % for vertical and horizontal affectings accordingly. At work with nominal loading on an eddish, affectings on a seat of the operator decrease in 1.7–2.7 times in vertical and in 1.4–1.8 times in horizontal directions and at work with draw-bar loading of Rkr=50 kN on an eddish, affectings on a seat of the operator decrease in 1.4–2.1 times in vertical and periodically increase on some speeds no more than by 30 % in a horizontal direction.

The result of the extraction of the edge and contour information of the multifunctional digital ship image directly affects the evaluation and recognition of the subsequent image quality. At present, the common method used to extract the edge contour information is based on the Canny operator, and there is a problem that the edge is not clear.In order to obtain more accurate edge information, a method of extracting edge and contour information of multimedia digital image based on multi-scale morphology is proposed. Firstly, the digital ship image is made double filter and the fuzzy threshold segmentation, and then the edge and contour information is extracted by multi-scale morphology. Experiments show that the proposed method can obtain more accurate edge information compared with the other methods.

In order to achieve the task of formulating an optimal drainage model for the Calabar area, the Calabar drainage system was studied using some cartographic techniques to analyze its surface run-off and channel characteristics so as to determine how floods are generated. A morphological analysis was done, using detailed contour maps prepared for the study area. The “Blue line” and “contour crenulations” methods were used to recreate the expected run-off channels or drainage networks under natural non-urbanized conditions. A drainage structure with 6 major basins and 73 sub-basins was discovered. Existing storm drains were constructed without regards to this natural structure and so floods were generated.

The reading, analysis and interpretation of the contour line picture is causing pupils quite a lot of problems. They result above all from lack of abilities of getting the third dimension out of the two-dimensional plain. On the one side different perceptual predisposition of pupils affects such a state of affairs, on the other – insufficient methodological base, mainly in the form of interesting, attractive, inspiring and modern teaching tools. SandBOX seems to be a reply to this demand. SandBOX is a multimedia tool for generating and showing the picture of colorful map-contour line on the freely formed, interactive model of sand. The user immediately is seeing the threedimensional space created by himself in the form of colorful hypsometric map. This device can easily help understand the process of mapping and reading information about the terrain on the hypsometric map.
Czytanie, analiza i interpretacja rysunku poziomicowego nastręcza uczniom sporo trudności. Wynikają one przede wszystkim z braku umiejętności widzenia, a raczej wydobycia trzeciego wymiaru z płaszczyzny dwuwymiarowej. Tę zdolność trudno jednak rozwinąć bez zaangażowania wyobraźni przestrzennej, którą nie wszyscy uczniowie mają opanowaną w zadawalającym stopniu. Na taki stan rzeczy z jednej strony wpływa różna predyspozycja percepcyjna uczniów (czynniki wewnętrzne), a z drugiej – niedostateczne zaplecze metodyczne, m.in. w postaci ciekawych, inspirujących, atrakcyjnych i nowoczesnych pomocy dydaktycznych (czynniki zewnętrzne). Odpowiedzią na powyższe zapotrzebowanie wydaje się być „sandBOX”. „SandBOX” to multimedialne narzędzie do generowania i wyświetlania rysunku hipsometrycznego na dowolnie formowanym, interaktywnym modelu z piachu. Użytkownik (tu: uczeń i/lub nauczyciel), bawiąc się w piaskownicy w „rzeźbiarza terenu” natychmiast otrzymuje w wykreowanej przez siebie przestrzeni trójwymiarowej informację zwrotną w postaci układu poziomic zaopatrzonych w barwy. Rozwiązanie to w sposób prosty i przejrzysty wspomagać może niezmiernie trudny proces wprowadzania i etapowego kształtowania pojęcia poziomicy.
