W pracy rozpatrzono problem syntezy obserwatorów liniowych układów ciągłych niecałkowitego rzędu. Wykorzystując aparat liniowych nierówności macierzowych (LMI) sformułowano warunki oraz podano procedury do wyznaczania macierzy wzmocnień obserwatorów, dla rzędu ? układu: 0 < α < 1 i 1 < α < 2. Rozważania zilustrowano przykładem liczbowym. Obliczenia i symulacje wykonano w środowisku Matlab/Simulink.
Many sophisticated analytical procedures to control system design are based on the assumption that the full state vector is available for measurement. The example of such control procedure is placement of the unstable system eigenvalues. In many systems of practical importance, however, the entire state vector is not available for measurement. In some systems, for example, measurements may require the use of costly measurement devices and it may be unreasonable to measure all state variables. An auxiliary dynamical system, which reconstructs the state vector, is known as a full-order or an identity observer, and is coupled to the original system through the available system inputs and outputs [14]. The paper presents a problem of synthesis of full-order observers for fractional continuous-time linear systems. It has been shown that this problem can be formulated and solved by the use of linear matrix inequalities (LMI) methods [15]. Two cases of fractional order i.e. 0 < α < 1 and 1 < α < 2 of the system (1) have been considered. Necessary and sufficient conditions (Theorem 1 and 2) for solvability of the problem as well as two procedures (Procedure 1 and 2) for computation of a gain matrix L of asymptotic stable observer (2) have been given. The proposed approach is illustrated with a practical example. Numerical calculations have been performed in the Matlab package and accompanied by public domain software: SeDuMi solver and YALMIP parser. The LMI approach to observer synthesis for fractional continuous-time linear systems has not been considered as yet.

We propose a new observer where the model, decomposed in generalized canonical form of regulation described by Fliess, is dissociated from the part assuring error correction. The obtained stable exact estimates give direct access to state variables in the form of successive derivatives. The dynamic response of the observer converges exponentially, as long as the nonlinearities are locally of Lipschitz type. In this case, we demonstrate that a quadratic Lyapunov function provides a number of inequalities which guarantee at least local stability. A synthesis of gains is proposed, independent of the observation time scale. Simulations of a Düffing system and a Lorenz strange attractor illustrate theoretical developments.

We propose a new type of Proportional Integral (PI) state observer for a class of nonlinear systems in continuous time which ensures an asymptotic stable convergence of the state estimates. Approximations of non-linearity are not necessary to obtain such results, but the functions must be, at least locally, of the Lipschitz type. The obtained state variables are exact and robust against noise. Naslin’s damping criterion permits synthesizing gains in an algebraically simple and efficient way. Both the speed and damping of the observer response are controlled in this way. Model simulations based on a Sprott strange attractor are discussed as an example.

The problem of stabilization of fractional positive linear continuous-time linear systems with delays by state-feedbacks is addressed. The gain matrix of the state feedback is chosen so that the zeros of the closed-loop polynomial are located in a sector of the left half of complex plane. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of the problem are established and a procedure for computation of a gain matrix of the feedback is proposed. The considerations are illustrated by a numerical example.

The problem of asymptotic stability of continuous-discrete linear systems is considered. Simple necessary conditions and two computer methods for investigation of asymptotic stability of the second Fornasini-Marchesini type model are given. The first method requires computation of the eigenvalue-loci of complex matrices, the second method requires computation of determinants of some matrices. Effectiveness of the methods is demonstrated on numerical example.

It is shown that the convex linear combination of the Hurwitz polynomials of positive linear systems is also the Hurwitz polynomial. The Kharitonov theorem is extended to the positive interval linear systems. It is also shown that the interval positive linear system described by state equation x ̇ = Ax, A ϵ ℜn×n, A1 ≥ A ≤ A2 is asymptotically stable if and only if the matrices Ak = 1, 2 are Hurwitz Metzler matrices.

The stability of fractional standard and positive continuous-time linear systems with state matrices in integer and rational powers is addressed. It is shown that the fractional systems are asymptotically stable if and only if the eigenvalues of the state matrices satisfy some conditions imposed on the phases of the eigenvalues. The fractional standard systems are unstable if the state matrices have at least one positive eigenvalue.

The asymptotic stability of the convex linear combination of continuous-time and discretetime linear systems is considered. Using the Gershgorin theorem it is shown that the convex linear combination of the linear asymptotically stable continuous-time and discretetime linear systems is also asymptotically stable. It is shown that the above thesis is also valid (even simpler) for positive linear systems.

The inverse Frobenius matrices and the characteristic equations of the inverse systems are investigated. It is shown that the inverse system of continuous-time linear system is asymptotically stable if and only if the standard system is asymptotically stable and the inverse system of discrete-time linear system is asymptotically stable if and only if the standard system is unstable. The stability problem of continuous-time linear fractional order systems with state delay is considered. New simple necessary and sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability are established. The conditions are given in terms of eigenvalues of the state matrix and time delay. It is shown that in the complex plane there exists such a region that location in this region of all eigenvalues of the state matrix multiplied by delay in power equal to the fractional order is necessary and sufficient for the asymptotic stability. Parametric description of boundary of this region is derived and simple new analytic necessary and sufficient conditions for the stability are given. Moreover, it is shown that the stability of the fractional order system without delay is necessary for the stability of this system with delay. The considerations are illustrated by a numerical example.

The stability problem of continuous-time linear systems described by the state equation consisting of n subsystems with different fractional orders of derivatives of the state variables has been considered. The methods for asymptotic stability checking have been given. The method proposed in the general case is based on the Argument Principle and it is similar to the modified Mikhailov stability criterion known from the stability theory of natural order systems. The considerations are illustrated by numerical examples.

This paper refers to application of the Schauder's fixed point theorem together with linear controllability results in getting the sufficient controllability conditions for various kinds of controllability and for different types of nonlinear control systems. The following nonlinear control systems are considered : finite-dimensional systems, systems with delays in control or in the state variables, and infinite-dimensional systems. The paper presents the review of results existing in the literature which show how Schauder's fixed-point theorem can be practically used to solve several controllability problems for different types of nonlinear control systems.

The paper considers the robust stability problem of uncertain continuous-time fractional order linear systems with pure delay in the following two cases: a) the state matrix is a linear convex combination of two known constant matrices, b) the state matrix is an interval matrix. It is shown that the system is robustly stable if and only if all the eigenvalues of the state matrix multiplied by delay in power equal to fractional order are located in the open stability region in the complex plane. Parametric description of boundary of this region is derived. In the case a) the necessary and sufficient computational condition for robust stability is established. This condition is given in terms of eigenvalue-loci of the state matrix, fractional order and time delay. In the case b) the method for determining the rectangle with sides parallel to the axes of the complex plane in which all the eigenvalues of interval matrix are located is given and the sufficient condition for robust stability is proposed. This condition is satisfied if the rectangle multiplied by delay in power equal to fractional order lie in the stability region. The considerations are illustrated by numerical examples.
