Opis:
Continuous time Markov chains (CTMC) are one of the formalisms for building models. This paper discusses expressing these models in a standard programming language – Java. Using such a language as a model description allows for a partially common implementation of the production software and of the description of the model, for a greater flexibility in comparison to model-checker specific languages that often do not employ features of an object-oriented programming. Using Java also makes the parsing of models relatively fast, using optimised Java runtime environment. Our approach aims at using typical mechanisms of the Java language when implementing the model, and at the same time, following closely the concepts from computer networking and from formalisms based on it, like the queueing systems. These assumption result in techniques like plain object fields constituting the state vector, or negotiation between nodes to decide if an event happens.
Łańcuchy Markowa czasu rzeczywistego są jednym z formalizmów używanych do budowy modeli. Artykuł ten omawia wyrażanie takich modeli w standardowym języku programowania - Javie. Użycie takiego języka umożliwia częściowo wspólną implementację oprogramowania użytkowego i opisu modelu, większą elastyczność w porównaniu do często nie używających obiektowych konwencji programistycznych języków stosowanych przez oprogramowanie weryfikujące, oraz szybką budowę modelu z użyciem zoptymalizowanego środowiska czasu wykonania Javy. Nasze podejście miało na celu wykorzystanie typowych mechanizmów języka Java przy opisie modelu i jednoczesnie trzymanie się konwencji z dziedziny sieci komputerowych i pokrewnych formalizmóm typu systemy kolejkowe. Dlatego używamy technik takich jak zastosowanie pól obiektów jako elementów wektora stanu czy negocjacja pomiędzy węzłami, czy dane zdarzenie ma mieć miejsce.

The paper deals with the problem of determining Hurwitz stability of a ball of polynomials defined by a weighted lp norm in the coefficient space where p is an arbitrary positive integer including infinity. The solution of the case when the weights are supposed to be the same for coefficient being above and below its nominal value corresponding to symmetric ball has been given by Tsypkin and Polyak. However, sometimes it seems to be useful to have a possibility to consider these weights as different, resulting in the asymmetric ball. This is, for example, the situation where the weights express our level of confidence that the real value of a coefficient lies in some interval. Such approach is used if the value of a coefficient is estimated by an expert. Solution of the problem is based on frequency domain plot in the complex plane and on applying the Zero Exclusion Theorem. The main idea consists in separation of the original problem into four subproblems and using an appropriate coordinate transformation which makes the value set independent of frequency. This transformation makes it possible to move the relative value set into the origin of the complex plane and to easily formulate the necessary and sufficient condition of Hurwitz stability of asymmetric ball of polynomials with prescribed radius or determine the maximum radius preserving stability. The whole graphical procedure consists of four plots instead of one, needed in the symmetric case.

The problem of asymptotic stability of continuous-discrete linear systems is considered. Simple necessary conditions and two computer methods for investigation of asymptotic stability of the second Fornasini-Marchesini type model are given. The first method requires computation of the eigenvalue-loci of complex matrices, the second method requires computation of determinants of some matrices. Effectiveness of the methods is demonstrated on numerical example.

A new class of fractional linear continuous-time linear systems described by the state equation is introduced. The solution to the state equations is derived using the Laplace transform. Necessary and sufficient conditions are established for the internal and external positivity of the fractional systems. This paper is devoted to some problems that appear in derivations of the discrete time Fourier transform from a formula for its continuous time counterpart for transformation from the time into the frequency domain as well as to those regarding transformation in the inverse direction. In particular, the latter ones remained so far an unresolved problem. It is solved for the first time here. Many detailed explanations accompanying the solution found are presented. Finally, it is also worth noting that our derivations do not exploit any of such sophisticated mathematical tools as the so-called Dirac delta and Dirac comb.

The asymptotic stability of discrete-time and continuous-time linear systems described by the equations xi+1 = Ākxi and x(t) = Akx(t) for k being integers and rational numbers is addressed. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of the systems are established. It is shown that: 1) the asymptotic stability of discrete-time systems depends only on the modules of the eigenvalues of matrix Āk and of the continuous-time systems depends only on phases of the eigenvalues of the matrix Ak, 2) the discrete-time systems are asymptotically stable for all admissible values of the discretization step if and only if the continuous-time systems are asymptotically stable, 3) the upper bound of the discretization step depends on the eigenvalues of the matrix A.

The positive realization problem for a class of singular continuous-time linear SISO systems with delays in state and in output is addressed. The notions of canonical forms of matrices and of dual systems are extended for singular linear systems with delays. Necessary and sufficient conditions for positivity of SISO singular continuous-time systems with delays and sufficient conditions for the existence of a positive singular realization are established. A procedure for computation of a positive singular realization of a given transfer function is proposed and illustrated by a numerical example.

The stability problem of continuous-time linear systems described by the state equation consisting of n subsystems with different fractional orders of derivatives of the state variables has been considered. The methods for asymptotic stability checking have been given. The method proposed in the general case is based on the Argument Principle and it is similar to the modified Mikhailov stability criterion known from the stability theory of natural order systems. The considerations are illustrated by numerical examples.

The asymptotic stability of positive fractional switched continuous-time linear systems for any switching is addressed. Simple sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of the positive fractional systems are established.
