Opis:
We study topological properties of Valdivia compact spaces. We prove in particular that a compact Hausdorff space K is Corson provided each continuous image of K is a Valdivia compactum. This answers a question of M. Valdivia (1997). We also prove that the class of Valdivia compacta is stable with respect to arbitrary products and we give a generalization of the fact that Corson compacta are angelic.

Opis:
Based on the mould temperature measured by thermocouples during slab continuous casting, a difference of temperature thermograph is developed to detect slab cracks. In order to detect abnormal temperature region caused by longitudinal crack, the suspicious regions are extracted and divided by virtue of computer image processing algorithms, such as threshold segmentation, connected region judgement and boundary tracing. The abnormal regions are then determined and labeled with the eight connected component labeling algorithm. The boundary of abnormal region is also extracted to depict characteristics of longitudinal crack. Based on above researches, longitudinal crack with abnormal temperature region can be detected and is different from other abnormalities. Four samples of temperature drop are picked up to compare with longitudinal crack on the abnormal region formation, length, width, shape, et al. The results show that the abnormal region caused by longitudinal crack has a linear and vertical shape. The height of abnormal region is more than the width obviously. The ratio of height to width is usually larger than that of other temperature drop regions. This method provides a visual and easy way to detect longitudinal crack and other abnormities. Meanwhile it has a positive meaning to the intelligent and visual mould monitoring system of continuous casting.

Opis:
The paper describes an innovative ultrasound imaging method called Doppler Tomography (DT), otherwise known as Continuous Wave Ultrasonic Tomography (CWUT). Thanks to this method, it is possible to image the tissue cross-section in vivo using a simple two-transducer ultrasonic probe and using the Doppler effect. It should be noted that DT significantly differs from the conventional ultrasound Doppler method of measuring blood flow velocity. The main difference is that when measuring blood flow, we receive information with an image of the velocity distribution in a given blood vessel (Nowicki, 1995), while DT allows us to obtain a cross-sectional image of stationary tissue structure. In the conventional method, the probe remains stationary, while in the DT method, the probe moves and the examined tissue remains stationary. This paper presents a method of image reconstruction using the DT method. First, the basic principle of correlation of generated Doppler frequencies with the location of inclusions from which they originate is explained. Then the exact process and algorithm in this method are presented. Finally, the impact of several key parameters on imaging quality is examined. As a result, the conclusions of the research allow to improve the image reconstruction process using the DT method.

Opis:
Currently, methods such as conventional ultrasound B-mode scanning (US), computerized X-ray tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), standard X-ray diagnostics, radioisotope imaging and thermography are used to visualize the internal structure of tissue in vivo and to diagnose the patient. Doppler tomography (DT) is an innovative method of reconstructing the image of the tissue section using ultrasonic waves and Doppler effect. In contrast to the currently applied solutions (US), this method uses a continuous wave, which, in theory, allows one to operate with higher energy and to detect smaller inclusions within the examined tissue. This study focuses on the analysis of DT simulation in circular geometry, where a two-transducer ultrasonic probe circulating around the tested object is used to measure the useful signal. In this paper, the influence on the tested object’s cross-section imaging quality of both the simulated Doppler signal’s registration parameters, and the calculation algorithm’s parameters, were analyzed.

Opis:
Artykuł skupia się na problematyce prowadzenia badań dotyczących zachowań robotników na placu budowy. Omówione zostały zarówno metody pośrednie czyli głównie badania sondażowe, jak i badania prowadzone bezpośrednio w miejscu wykonywania prac (in situ). Szczególną uwagę poświęcono omówieniu wad i zalet metod bezinwazyjnych pomiarów prowadzonych przy zastosowaniu czujników radiowych i analizy obrazu wideo. Przeanalizowano podstawowe wymagania stawiane technologiom śledzenia ruchu robotników w czasie rzeczywistym.
This article focuses on the issues of conducting research on the behavior of workers on construction sites. Both indirect methods, i.e. mainly survey research, and research conducted directly at the work site (in situ) were discussed. Particular attention was paid to discussing the advantages and disadvantages of non-invasive measurement methods using radio sensors and video image analysis. The basic requirements for real-time worker tracking technologies were analyzed.
