Opis:
Using conformal mapping techniques, superposition and analytic continuation, we derive analytic solutions to the problem of a screw dislocation interacting with a parabolic elastic inhomogeneity. The screw dislocation can be located anywhere either in the surrounding matrix or in the parabolic inhomogeneity or simply on the parabolic interface itself. We obtain explicit expressions for the two analytic functions in the image plane characterizing the elastic fields describing displacement and stresses in the two-phase composite. Using the Peach-Koehler formula, we also obtain the image force acting on the screw dislocation. The analytic function defined in the parabolic inhomogeneity in the physical plane can be interpreted in terms of real and image screw dislocations for any location of the real screw dislocation.

Celem niniejszego tekstu jest udowodnienie, że art. 6 ust. 1 jest przepisem wskazującym na szczegółową dziedzinę, w której zastosowanie ma zasada równości wyrażona w treści art. 32 i 33 Konstytucji RP. Aby tego dowieźć, wyjaśniono, jak równość odnosi się do zakresu podmiotów uprawnionych do tego, aby im upowszechniać i udostępniać dobra kultury narodowej. Udowodnione zostało również, że odniesienie równości do upowszechniania i udostępniania dóbr kultury narodowej wymaga zastosowania uprzywilejowania wyrównawczego wynikającego z przesłanek faktycznych, a nie tylko prawnych. Przy okazji tak zakrojonych badań wykazane zostało również, że art. 6 ust. 1 jest także konkretyzacją art. 5 in fine oraz, że zawiera on w sobie prawo podmiotowe.
The purpose of this text is to prove that Art. 6 sec. 1 is a provision indicating a specific area in which the principle of equality expressed in art. 32 and 33 of the Polish Constitution. To prove this, it is explained how equality relates to the range of entities entitled to disseminate and make available to them national cultural goods. It has also been proved that the reference of equality to the dissemination and sharing of national cultural goods requires the application of a compensatory privilege resulting from factual, not only legal, premises. On the occasion of such extensive research, it was also shown that Art. 6 sec. 1 is also a concretization of Art. 5 in fine and that it contains a subjective right.

Prior research demonstrates that primary and secondary school teachers often find teaching young learners to write in a second language a slow and effortful process. Moreover, students in this age range lack the motivation to write. Therefore, it is important to explore the EFL writing pedagogy suitable for young learners. The present study investigated how story continuation (with or without reading input) under different topic familiarity conditions serves as a viable pedagogical means for secondary school students. Ninety-one Chinese students in four intact classes of comparable proficiency levels were assigned four writing task conditions in a 2 ⨉ 2 factorial design. Group 1 (Fam) was provided with the beginning of a familiar story in L1 Chinese and was required to complete the story in L2 English. Group 2 (UnFam) had the same task as Group 1, with an unfamiliar story. Group 3 (Fam+Input) was initially provided with the complete familiar story in Chinese (the same story as Group 1) as reading input and were then instructed to write the story in English with the reading material taken away. Group 4 (Unfam+Input) received the full unfamiliar story in Chinese (the same story as Group 2) as input before writing. Again they were not allowed to refer to the reading in the composing process. The results revealed that the young learners who wrote on familiar topics (Groups 1 and 3) produced longer texts and demonstrated greater lexical diversity than those with unfamiliar stories (Groups 2 and 4), although topic familiarity did not affect their writing quality or lexical sophistication. As for the story continuation conditions, students who completed writing the story without the L1 reading input on the topics (Groups 1 and 2) developed longer compositions and better writing quality than those with such input (Groups 3 and 4), although their lexical profiles (both lexical diversity and lexical sophistication) remained uninfluenced. Pedagogical implications for EFL writing among young learners were also discussed in the present study.

Opis:
The free damped vibrations of thin (Kirchhoff-Love) plates equipped with viscoelastic dampers are considered in the paper. It is assumed that the dampers are described according to the generalized rheological model. Influence of temperature on the parameters of dampers is taken into account using the frequency-temperature correspondence principle. Isotropic and rectangular plates are analysed in numerical tests included in this study. The natural frequencies and non-dimensional damping ratios are determined for these plates by solving the non-linear eigenproblem using the continuation method. The Finite Element Method is used to determine the stiffness matrix and the mass matrix occurring in the considered eigenproblem. The results of exemplary numerical calculations are presented and discussed at the end of this paper.

Tematem artykułu jest promocja demokracji w polityce zagranicznej Indonezji, zaś pytanie badawcze brzmi: w jakim zakresie promocja demokracji w polityce zagranicznej ma charakter stały, a w jakim zmienny? Przyjęto założenie, że promocja demokracji ma dwojaki charakter: deklaratywny i praktyczny. W artykule zweryfikowano hipotezę stanowiącą, że zarówno w wymiarze deklaratywnym, jak i praktycznym, w polityce zagranicznej Indonezji zasadnicze zmiany zaszły w 2004 r. i od tego czasu obie te sfery charakteryzuje kontynuacja, mimo zachodzących zmian w środowisku wewnętrznym i zewnętrznym państwa. Hipoteza jest weryfikowana przy użyciu dwóch metod: analizy treści oraz analizy porównawczej na przykładzie dwóch przypadków empirycznych: aktywności Indonezji na rzecz stworzenia mechanizmu ochrony i promowania demokracji i praw człowieka w Stowarzyszeniu Narodów Azji Południowo-Wschodniej oraz działalności w ramach Forum Demokracji na Bali.
The article’s research area is democracy promotion in the Indonesian foreign policy and the research question is what are the elements of continuity and change in the Indonesian promotion of democracy? The paper assumes that promotion of democracy in the foreign policy of Indonesia is twofold: declarative and practical. The argument is that in both dimensions, declarative and practical, important changes started in 2004, and since then, both areas have been characterised by continuity, despite changes occurring in the Indonesia’s internal and external environments. Two research methods are applied: the content analysis and comparative analysis. The paper examines two empirical case studies: Indonesia’s contribution to development of the mechanism of protection and promotion of democracy and human rights in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and Bali Democracy Forum.

Zdarzenia, które doprowadziły po 2007 roku do upadku wielu podmiotów gospodarczych, stały się impulsem do poszukiwania nowych lub doskonalenia istniejących narzędzi umożliwiających realizację dokonań finansowych jednostki na poziomie zapewniającym kontynuację działania. Jednym z takich narzędzi mogą okazać się tworzone w rachunkowości rezerwy. Celem artykułu jest ustalenie, jaką kondycją finansową charakteryzowały się grupy spółek, wyodrębnione ze względu na zachowanie w latach 2007–2014 podobnego udziału rezerw bilansowych w pasywach ogółem. Aby ten cel osiągnąć, wykorzystano metodę hierarchiczną do przebadania 380 spółek notowanych na Giełdzie Papierów Wartościowych w Warszawie (indeks WIG) w latach 2007–2014. Uzyskane wyniki pozwalają zweryfikować hipotezę, zgodnie z którą wyodrębnione grupy spółek wykazywały różny poziom dokonań finansowych, mierzonych wskaźnikiem rentowności kapitałów własnych oraz wartością rynkową. Ujmowanie rezerw bilansowych można zatem traktować jako narzędzie służące kształtowaniu kondycji finansowej przed-siębiorstwa.
The situation that led to the bankruptcy of companies after 2007 became an impulse to search for new or improve existing tools that enable the implementation of the financial achievements of the entity at a level ensuring continuity of operations. Reserves may be one of the useful tools. The aim of the article is to determine the financial condition of groups of companies distinguished on the basis of maintenance in the years 2007–2014 of a similar share of reserves in total liabilities. For the purpose of this study, a hierarchical method was used to examine 380 companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WIG index) in the years 2007–2014. The results provide further support for the hypothesis that the selected groups of companies presented different levels of financial achievements, measured by the return on equity and market value of the companies. Therefore, recognition of reserves in total liabilities can be treated as a tool for creating the financial condition of companies.

The Nomad’s Star is undoubtedly the most prominent poem of Bair Dugarov. Having appeared in the critical time of post-Soviet searching of selfidentification among the Buryats, the poem instantly gained popularity. In this article, I argue that the poem The Nomad’s Star becomes the guiding light for the modern generation of Buryats after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Dugarov calls upon his contemporaries not to forget the nomadic principles of the ancestors. He employs such motifs and artistic images which reproclaim the ideas of lineage continuation, the ancestors’ cult, and harmony in the family – values that are relevant and vital at all times. I close read the poem The Nomad’s Star and outline main cultural concepts depicted in it, such as “route,” “hearth,” “lineage,” and others, which promote the revival of ethnic consciousness in the memory of the Buryats. I support my argumentation with the words of the poet himself and literary critics’ opinions. The public discourse and social network materials devoted to The Nomad’s Star are also called upon, evidencing the poem’s role and significance in contemporary Buryatia.

The aim of the article is to analyze the mutual relations of tradition and modernity (novelty). The confrontation of these two categories often leads to conflicts of values and past arrangements with those oriented towards the future. The manifestations and consequences of this conflict are visible in the area of politics, society, culture and the economy. The article analyzes the nature of the conflict between ‘tradition’ and ‘modernity’ in the food sector. It emphasizes the different nature, intensity of the course and the main stakeholders of the conflict in this area in relation to other sectors of the economy.
Celem artykułu jest analiza wzajemnych relacji tradycji i nowoczesności (nowości). Konfrontacja tych dwóch kategorii prowadzi często do konfliktów wartości i ustaleń przeszłości z tymi zorientowanymi na przyszłość. Przejawy oraz konsekwencje tego konfliktu widoczne są w obszarze polityki, społeczeństwa, kultury jak i gospodarki (ekonomii). W artykule poddano analizie charakter konfliktu tradycji i nowoczesności w obszarze sektora żywności. Podkreśla się w nim odmienny charakter, intensywność przebiegu oraz głównych interesariuszy konfliktu w tym obszarze w stosunku do innych sektorów gospodarki.

Celem artykułu jest ukazanie znaczenia pracy zawodowej w powrotach do edukacji osób, które jej zaprzestały bez ukończenia. Przerwanie edukacji, niezależnie od okoliczności, w jakich do tego doszło, pozostawia wielorakie konsekwencje w dalszym przebiegu życia, w szczególności dotyczące pracy zawodowej. Niższe, zwłaszcza niepełne wykształcenie powoduje trudności na rynku pracy, w szczególnych przypadkach prowadzi do doświadczania bezrobocia lub do podejmowania zatrudnienia na mniej korzystnych warunkach pracy i płacy. Praca zawodowa jednakże, pomimo że osobom, które przerwały edukację, ogranicza możliwości zatrudnienia, inspiruje do powrotu na ścieżkę kształcenia, niekiedy wręcz wymusza podejmowanie nauki. Pracodawca może więc stymulować aktywność edukacyjną swoich pracowników i stosować czynniki motywujące do nauki, jak i stwarzać możliwości jej podejmowania także w odniesieniu do osób mniej wykształconych, w tym niemających ukończonej szkoły. Jest to trudne zadanie, gdyż pracownicy, którzy bez zakończenia edukacji wyłączyli się z niej, są najmniej zainteresowani nauką. Ich powrót do kształcenia poza podniesieniem kompetencji formalnych i nieformalnych może się przyczynić do ich większej gotowości do nauki, co sprawi, że chętniej i z większym zaangażowaniem będą brali udział w różnych formach szkolenia pracowniczego, będącego nieodłącznym elementem każdego nowoczesnego zakładu pracy.
The aim of the article is to show the importance of professional work in the process of returning to education by people who had stopped it prior to completion. The interruption of education, regardless of the circumstances in which it took place, results in multiple consequences in the further course of life, particularly at work. Lower, especially incomplete, education causes difficulties in the labour market, and in some cases may lead to unemployment or to taking up jobs with less favorable working and payment conditions. Despite the fact that the employment opportunities of people who have interrupted their education are limited, professional work inspires to return to the path of education, it sometimes even enforces taking up learning activities. Thus, employers can stimulate the educational activities of their employees by using various factors to motivate learning and by creating opportunities to take up such educational activities by people who are educated at a lower level or have not completed their education. It is a difficult task, because employees who have excluded themselves from education are the least interested in learning. Their return to education, apart from improving formal and informal skills, may contribute to their greater readiness for learning. It can make them more willing and engaged to participate in various forms of employee training, which is an inherent element of every modern workplace.

Byzantine historians tied Peter primarily with the establishment of the lasting peace with the Empire in 927. In the sources that present the events from before the reign of the emperor Nikephor Phokas (963-969), when the relations between both states deteriorated, Peter is commonly portrayed as a peacemaker, a deeply religious man, accepting of the Byzantine way of understanding the role of the ruler in religious matters. However, Byzantine authors point out that Peter was able to successfully secure his position and ruthlessly deal with his enemies. The sources describing the events from the last years of his reign portray him as a prideful person, daring to stand up against the Byzantine basileÚj, and who gets rightfully and severely punished for his actions. It should be noted that most often the Byzantine authors did not describe their attitude towards Peter, and did not judge him directly. This results in the reader having to build the image of the Bulgarian ruler himself, based on how the sources describe the events concerning his reign.

Opis:
This paper discusses the problem of mutual use of the insolvency and bankruptcy variable for business failure modelling. The prior Polish literature on insolvency tends to focus on the qualitative research. This research shows how the terms bankruptcy and insolvency modelling on the informal dataset might result in different fits of the models. Models were estimated based on 17,024 firm’s yearly observations from the 2004 to 2014 for the Polish financial market. Following prior research, the models were developed with application of the logit regression. The evidence gathered during the study supports the conclusion that the use of the legal definition of insolvency is a weak instrument for bankruptcy modelling.

Opis:
The motion planning problem consists in finding a control function which drives the system to a desired point. The motion planning algorithm derived with an endogenous configuration space approach assumes that the motion takes place in an arbitrary chosen time horizon. This work introduces a modification to the motion planning algorithm which allows to reach the destination point in time, which is shorter than the assumed time horizon. The algorithm derivation relies on the endogenous configuration space approach and the continuation (homotopy) method. To achieve the earlier destination reaching a new formulation of the task map and the task Jacobian are introduced. The efficiency of the new algorithm is depicted with simulation results.
