    What You See Is What You Get
    Opis:
    Present article shows characteristic of advanced tools which are used to create and to manage web sites. Their short characteristic will be introduced and some of them will be presented closer. Tools, which will be mentioned are mostly CMS (Content Management System) systems, that is systems available from common internet web browsers. Tools that use WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors will be also presented, so will be tools that are applications installed on users workstations. Article finishes with attempt to show directions of development of CMS systems and with short summary related to presented tools.

    Opis:
    Collaborative content management systems (CMS) are employed to handle large collections of written material concurrently generated by multiple authors. A network based infrastructure allows members of a group to interactively and simultaneously create, review, and edit product documentation, web content, or other interrelated documents on-line and in real time. The tools are ideal for providing information to the students of engineering and computer graphics. The platform also invokes certain ethical considerations, including intellectual property and anonymity, to provide students with a valuable first-hand perspective of these issues as they are being studied. The paper defines the role of information system at the educational institution, the expedience to the lecturer of engineering and computer graphics the same as usefulness to the student. It also analyses aspects of CMS creation, validates need for system and goals, describes proposals given by the Student Council of VGTU and their needs and system realization tools. System operation is described at the end of the paper together with findings and predictable works.
    Systemy zarządzania treścią, czyli w języku angielskim Content Management Systems (CMS), to aplikacje internetowe pozwalające na łatwe tworzenie serwisu WWW oraz na jego dalszą aktualizację i rozbudowę przez każdego, niekoniecznie profesjonalnie przygotowanego do pracy informatycznej, użytkownika. Publikacja treści na tak zbudowanej platformie odbywa się za pomocą prostych edytorów, a sposób prezentacji wprowadzonych treści jest zaprogramowany przez autorów systemu. System CMS stworzony w Uniwesytecie Technicznym w Wilnie (Litwa) w języku PHP i współpracuje z istniejącą w uniwersytecie bazą danych Oracle. Autorka opisuje etapy tworzenia systemu CMS dla przedmiotu grafika inżynierska jakimi są: zdefiniowanie celów jakim ma służyć tworzone środowisko wirtualnego nauczania, określenie odbiorcy przekazywanych treści, w tym uwzględnienie etycznych problemów rozpowszechniania bazy danych oraz ochrony danych osobowych. Kolejność wprowadzania informacji jest uzależniona od sekwencji występującej w czasie wykładu. Praca została zilustrowana wieloma „zrzutami” z ekranu.

    Course management software (CMS) allows teachers to deliver content electronically and manage collaborative coursework, either blending with face-to-face interactions or as the core of an entirely virtual classroom environment. CMS often takes the form of an electronic storehouse of course materials with which students can interact, a virtual space where students can upload assignments and projects, or both. Dropbox software offers a nimble alternative to larger CMS products such as Blackboard along with greater autonomy for individual instructors. Teachers working in less-traditional settings may appreciate Dropbox’s mobility and flexibility, while shrinking budgets and less-reliable institutional support in general may add to the appeal of leaner software options.

    Systemy klasy Enterprise Content Management (ECM) to obecnie jedno z kluczowych narzędzi IT wdrażanych w przedsiębiorstwach. Świadczy o tym ogromna dynamika rynku, jego stale rosnące wartości i główni gracze, opisywane przez analityków firm badawczo-analitycznych Gartner Inc. (Magic Quadrant for ECM 2013) czy Radicati (Enterprise Content Management Market, 2013–2017). Celem artykułu stało się zaktualizowanie pojęcia content oraz zdefiniowanie pojęcia platformy ECM. Następnie platformy ECM zostały przedstawione w perspektywie technologicznej oraz rynkowej. Samo pojęcie zarządzania treścią i jego składowe technologie ewoluowały przez ostatnie dwadzieścia lat. Ewolucję pojęcia oraz aktualne miejsce zarządzania treścią w przedsiębiorstwie zaprezentowano w pierwszych dwóch częściach pracy. Główne komponenty oraz technologie wy-korzystywane do tworzenia platform ECM omówiono w części trzeciej, na przykładzie jednego z dynamiczniej rozwijających się, według rankingu Gartnera, produktów tej klasy – platformy Alfresco. Analiza dynamiki światowego rynku ECM oraz wskazanie trendów jego rozwoju stanowić będzie podsumowanie artykułu. Niniejsza praca będzie wstępem do rozważania problemu stworzenia dedykowanych narzędzi analityczno-projektowych służących w projektach wdrożeniowych systemów klasy ECM.
    Enterprise Content Management (ECM) class systems are nowadays one of the key IT tools implemented in enterprises. This fact is easily witnessed by the growth of the Enterprise Content Management market and its most important players as described by analysts from such research and analytical companies as Gartner Inc. (Magic Quadrant for ECM 2013) or Radicati (Enterprise Con-tent Management Market, 2013-2017). The aim of this paper is to update the notion of “content” and to define the concept of ECM platform. ECM platforms will be presented in the technological as well as market perspective. The concept of content management and its component technologies have evolved over the last twenty years. The evolution of that concept and the present place of content management in enterprises are presented in the first two parts of the paper. The main components and technologies employed to create ECM platforms are discussed in the third part of the paper using the example of the Alfresco platform which is quoted as the most dynamically developing one in the Gartner ranking. The concluding part of this paper features the analysis of the dynamics of the ECM market as well as presents its development trends. This paper serves only as an introduction to the deliberations on the problem of creating dedicated analytical and design tools to be used in the implementation projects of ECM class systems.
