    The aim of the work was to develop a method of verification of the preventive renewal strategies, which enables a simulation evaluation of the effects of the application of a specific schedule of inspections of parts that are important in the operation of complex renewable technical objects. Using it requires having an already established schedule of inspections, and the result of applying the method is determined by indicators that assess the usefulness of the strategy, even before implementation. The developed computational tool was used to evaluate the renewal strategy of the current collector contact plates. Based on the real operational data, several renewal intervals were considered, determining the frequency of events involving the plate covering a specific mileage, from exceeding the wear control limit value to the next inspection (replacement). The proposed verification method is an important tool for testing and planning technical inspections for systems and elements with planned wear, and parts are periodically replaced.

    The purpose of this study is to identify differences in variations of contact time and number of electrode plates in electrocoagulation process on the decrease of total Coliforms in Bandung City hospital wastewater. An experimental research with factorial randomized design. The volume of wastewater sample to check the total Coliforms was a minimum of 100 ml, using 3 treatments and 6 repetitions. Data analysis used was two-way ANOVA test. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the number of plates (p = 0.269), contact time (p = 0.537), and the number of plates and contact time (p = 0.863) with the total Coliforms in electrocoagulation process. The use of 6 plates and 90 min contact time showed the best results in reducing total Coliforms, with effectiveness reaching 88.38%. This means that the concept is quite effective to use as a substitute for disinfectant.

    The aim of this contribution is threefold. First, we formulate unilateral contact problems for three models of plates and the Koiter shell model. Contact conditions have been formulated on the face being in contact with an obstacle and not on the mid-plane of the plate or the middle surface of the shell. Such a rigorous approach results in nonconvex minimization problems even in the case of thin, geometrically linear plates. Existence theorems are formulated for each model considered. Second, the Ito and Kunisch (1990, 1995) augmented Lagrangians methods have been extended to nonconvex problems. Third, nonconvex duality theory by Rockafellar and Wets (1998), valid for finite-degree-of-freedom systems has been extended to continuous systems. Specific examples have also been provided.
    Metody rozszerzonego lagranżianu dla pewnej klasy wypukłych i niewypukłych zagadnień kontaktowych. Cel pracy jest trojaki. Po pierwsze, sformułowane zostały jednostronne zagadnienia kontaktowe dla trzech modeli płyt oraz liniowego modelu powłok Koitera. Warunki kontaktu zostały sformułowane na powierzchni będące w kontakcie z podłożem, a nie na powierzchni środkowej płyty lub powłoki. Takie ścisłe podejście prowadzi do niewypukłych zadań minimalizacji, nawet w przypadku płyt cienkich. Dla każdego zagadnienia sformułowano twierdzenie o istnieniu rozwiązań. Po drugie, metody rozszerzonego lagranżianu Ito i Kunischa (1990, 1995) uogólnione zostały na przypadek zagadnień niewypukłych. Po trzecie, teoria dualności Rockafellara i Wetsa (1998), opracowana dla skończenie wymiarowych zagadnień niewypukłych, została rozszerzona na przypadek układów ciągłych. Podano również kilka przykładów.

    In this work we present recent results on nanoscale imaging in the extreme ultraviolet and soft X-ray spectral ranges, describing three novel imaging systems dedicated for high spatial resolution imaging of nanoscale objects with the extreme ultraviolet and soft X-ray radiations. The extreme ultraviolet and soft X-ray full field microscopes operate at 13.8 nm and 2.88 nm wavelengths and are capable of imaging of nanostructures with a sub-50 nm spatial resolution. A soft X-ray contact microscope operates in the "water-window" spectral range from 2.3 to 4.4 nm wavelength, to obtain images of an internal structure of the investigated object in a thin surface layer of soft X-ray light sensitive photoresist. The development of such compact imaging systems may, in the near future, be important from the point of view of new research related to biological, material science, and nanotechnology applications. Such preliminary applications are also shown in the studies of biological samples, including carcinoma cells, diatoms, and neurons.

    W artykule przedstawiono klasyfikację i przyczyny najczęściej występujących uszkodzeń węglowych nakładek stykowych pantografów eksploatowanych na polskich liniach kolejowych wraz z identyfikacją przyczyn ich występowania. W artykule wskazano na najbardziej istotne elementy utrzymania odbieraków prądu, które są najczęstszą przyczyną nie tylko usterek odbieraków prądu i sieci trakcyjnej, ale również przyspieszonego zużycia współpracujących elementów i wysokich kosztów eksploatacji pojazdów trakcyjnych.
    The article presents the classification and the most common causes of pantographs carbon plates damage operated on Polish railways with identification of the causes of their occurrence. The article pointed out the most important elements of the maintenance of current collectors, which are the most common cause of not only the fault current collector and catenary, but they also cause accelerated wear of components and generate high operating costs of railway transport.
