The increment in the number of automobiles and the densification of the city has increased noise pollution rates. In addition, the lack of regulation in Chile regarding the acoustic insulation of façades is a problem of a growing concern. The main objective of the present study was to obtain a model of the Sound Insulation of housing, façades, stratified in Santiago, Chile, based on constructive variables. It is expected to serve as a basis for one future regulation for acoustic façades of houses. In the present study, tests based on the international ISO 140-5 standard were carried out in situ. An estimation model of the Standardized Level Difference Dls;2m;nT;w + C, was obtained based on the opening/façade proportion, and the type of glass used for the windows.

W artykule przedstawiono sposób oceny przyczyn pojawiania się wód gruntowych i opadowych w garażach podziemnych. Rozwiązania polegające na budowie głęboko posadowionych obiektów budowlanych są szczególnie często wykorzystywane na terenach silnie zurbanizowanych, gdzie w części podziemnej budynku zlokalizowane są stanowiska postojowe dla samochodów zmniejszając w ten sposób zajętość terenu. Często obiekty te posadowione są w miejscach złożonych warunków gruntowych przy wysokim poziomie wód. W takim wypadku istotne jest właściwe projektowanie i wykonawstwo w celu zabezpieczenia części podziemnej przed napływem wód do wnętrza części podziemnych ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem jakości robót budowlanych.
The paper describes how to assess reasons for the emergence of groundwater and rainwater inside underground garages. Building solutions involving constructions of deep-erected buildings are particularly often used in highly urbanized areas, where the underground parts of buildings are located parking spaces for cars thus reducing the occupancy of those areas. Often, these buildings are sited in complex ground conditions with the high levels of water. In this case, it is essential to proper design and construction in order to protect the underground part against the inflow of groundwater as well as rainwater inside underground stories, especially taking into account quality of construction works.

Problematyka jakości robót budowlanych zaczyna odgrywać coraz większą rolę w cyklu życia obiektów budowlanych. Zła jakość materiałów i wykonywanych prac niejednokrotnie decyduje o powstaniu zagrożeń, awarii oraz katastrof czy też, mniejszych w skutkach, lecz długotrwałych, uciążliwości eksploatacyjnych, wynikających z niezgodności czy też wad. Analizy z zakresu przyczyn awarii i katastrof budowalnych ujawniają fakt, iż zła jakość robót leży u podstaw problemów występujących w większości nowych obiektów. Zatem problematyka jakości robót budowlanych staje się zagadnieniem co najmniej pilnym. W artykule zidentyfikowano obszary mające wpływ na jakość robót budowlanych i zaproponowano program zapewnienia jakości robót budowlanych.
The issue of the quality of construction works begins to play an increasingly important role in the life cycle of construction facilities. Bad quality of materials and the work performed often determines the emergence of hazards, failures and catastrophes, or, with lesser effects but long-lasting, operational nuisance, resulting from non-compliance or defects. Analyzes of the causes of breakdowns and construction disasters reveal the fact that poor quality of works is at the root of the problems occurring in most new facilities. Thus, the issue of the quality of construction works becomes at least an urgent issue. The article identifies areas affecting the quality of construction works and proposes a quality assurance program for construction works.

Crucial element of the contemporary construction development trend is compatibility of the building design with client and architecture trends and sustainability strategy. The environmental certification systems for buildings such as LEED, BREEAM and WELL apply a lot of attention to providing users with a healthy housing environment. The criteria of these systems include many practical recommendations that buildings should meet on design, construction and use stage. These requirements can be a signpost, even for buildings and offices that do not aspire to obtain a certificate. The aim of the paper is to analyze and identify determinants of the energy-saving construction quality in the context of the green design.

As a result of the dynamic development of technology, glass-aluminum facades are now widely used. Not only representative facades in city centers, but also small buildings, such as commercial and office buildings, are equipped with aesthetic glass facades. To properly fulfill the functions of a curtain wall (thermal protection, water tightness, etc.), glass aluminum systems must be properly designed and assembled. The aim of the article is to identify the most common errors made when implementing small investments on the basis of information about problems that emerge during assembly, as well as the reasons for complaints filed by investors. The most popular post-and-beam systems on small construction sites were analyzed. The data was obtained from companies operating in the northern part of the Silesian Voivodeship, dealing with the distribution and assembly of these systems. Scoring was made of the negative impact of the identified errors on the structure. It was found that the main problem in this issue is the lack of due diligence during assembly, in particular deviations from catalog recommendations.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between organisational culture (OC) and Total Quality Management (TQM), and the influence of TQM implementation on organisational performance improvement within the context of the Vietnamese construction industry. A survey was conducted with 104 respondents from Vietnamese construction firms, using validated survey instruments developed in past research. Analysis techniques include cluster analysis and Structural Equation Modelling. Findings showed that Vietnamese construction firms are dominated by clan and hierarchy cultures rather than adhocracy and market cultures according to Competing Value Framework (CVF) of OC classification. urthermore, it was found that organisations dominated by either clan or adhocracy cultures could provide a favourable environment for successful TQM implementation, whereas this is not the case for those dominated by both market and hierarchy cultures. This study also confirmed the significant and positive relationship between TQM implementation and organisational performance improvement.

Analiza sporządzona została na potrzeby przedsiębiorstwa handlowo-usługowego działającego w branży budowlanej, a dotyczy nowego technologicznego rozwiązania w procesie uszczelniania przed penetracją wody (powłoki hydroizolacyjne).
The process of launching of a new product on the market is a test of technical qualities selection accuracy and the marketing concept of a product. A high level of risk due to unacquaintance of an offered product on the market accompanies this stage. This is particularly important if the process before appearance of a new product on the market was very expensive, e.g. a lot of funds was spent on research and development. Anyway, not only the level of applied technology decides on success on the market. It is crucial to prepare a marketing concept of the product that would be the basis to determine other instruments influencing the market. The preparation of the product's offer should start with determination of the novelty level both for a company and the market. This analysis would enable to choose the strategy: if the product is not a genuine novelty it is possible to base on previous experiences and the analysis of launching process of similar goods. If the product is defined as a new one all preparatory works would include a thorough analysis and risk minimalization. The strategy of launching of a product on the market covers many aspects of the market offer development but the product policy has a leading role.

During operation, construction machines generate high noise levels which can adversely affect the health and the job performance of operators. The noise control techniques currently applied to reduce the noise transmitted into the operator cab are all based on the decrease of the sound pressure level. Merely reducing this noise parameter may be suitable for the compliance with the legislative requirements but, unfortunately, it is not sufficient to improve the subjective human response to noise. The absolute necessity to guarantee comfortable and safe conditions for workers, requires a change of perspective and the identification of different noise control criteria able to combine the reduction of noise levels with that of psychophysical descriptors representing those noise attributes related to the subjective acoustical discomfort. This paper presents the results of a study concerning the “customization” of a methodology based on Sound Quality for the noise control of construction machines. The purpose is to define new hearing-related criteria for the noise control able to guarantee not only reduced noise levels at the operator position but also a reduced annoyance perception.

The need to save energy, as well as the constant tightening of regulations regarding thermal protection of buildings force the need to look for solutions increasing the thermal performance of building envelopes. One of the important issues in this regard is the appropriate thermal insulation of usable attics. Currently, two layers of mineral wool are most often used - one between the rafters and the other under the rafters. Recently, an alternative solution has emerged, namely PIR (polyisocyanurate) foam over-rafter roof insulation systems. The aim of the article is to assess the legitimacy of using this new method of roof slope insulation. Appropriate conclusions were formulated on the basis of the technical and economic analysis of PIR foam parameters and other insulation materials, and a case study in which one of the actual implementations of the over-rafter insulation was analyzed. It was found that the use of PIR panels as the external insulation of roof slopes gives benefits primarily in terms of improving the quality of thermal insulation works. The over-rafter system is easier to implement than the classical solution (fewer possibilities of assembly errors), and above all, it minimizes thermal bridges. In addition, PIR has a better thermal conductivity than mineral wool, which reduces the necessary insulation thickness, and the possibility of condensation inside the envelope and cold air infiltration is also limited. The barrier to the use of this solution is currently primarily the high price of PIR roof panels, but as shown, the benefits associated with improving the quality of insulation are taken into account and encourage investors to choose such a solution.

The quality of the construction services provided has always played an important role not only in maintaining the safety and proper functioning of the construction objects in question, but also in other related features, which will also be the subject of a research study with the target group of the construction objects in question in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship in Poland. This article explains the concept of quality and quality in terms of construction services. It indicates their essence and the process of implementation in the long-term perspective during the operation and exploitation of a building object. The process of quality assessment is based on the selection of contractors for construction works using fuzzy logic. The procedure of prequalification with the use of fuzzy sets was also used for such an assumed purpose.

W artykule został omówiony proces kształtowania jakości transportu towarowego realizowanego na potrzeby przedsięwzięć budowlanych w kontekście wybieranych przez przedsiębiorstwa strategii zaopatrzenia. Przedsiębiorstwa realizujące inwestycje budowlane spotykają się z różnego rodzaju problemami. Jednym z tych problemów jest funkcjonowanie łańcucha dostaw. Dostawy budowlane jako część tego łańcucha są słabym punktem ze względu na trudności zarówno organizacyjne, jak i problemy jakościowe. W artykule przedstawiono analizę rozwiązań wykorzystywanych w realizacjach dostaw budowlanych na terenie miasta Szczecin oraz podjęto próbę analizy procesu kształtowania jakości tych dostaw.
The article discusses the process of shaping the quality of freight transport implemented for the needs of construction projects in the context of supply strategies selected by enterprises. Enterprises that carry out construction investments face different types of problems. One of these problems is the functioning of the supply chain. Building supplies as part of this chain are a weak point due to both organizational and quality problems. The article presents an analysis of solutions used in the implementation of construction supplies in the city of Szczecin and an attempt was made to analyze the process of shaping the quality of these deliveries.

Realizacja dużych inwestycji infrastrukturalnych w Polsce często wiąże się z wydłużonym czasem trwania robót budowlanych. W trakcie wykonywania prac budowlano-montażowych może pojawić się wiele zdarzeń mogących wpłynąć na czas i koszt całego przedsięwzięcia. Do takich zdarzeń zaliczyć można roboty dodatkowe, prace wcześniej nieprzewidziane, ale konieczne do wykonania. W artykule przedstawiono charakterystykę zjawiska oraz konsekwencje robót dodatkowych występujących w inwestycjach kolejowych obejmujących roboty budowlane. Autorzy zidentyfikowali czynniki będące przyczyną robót dodatkowych oraz podjęli próbę wskazania częstości ich występowania w omawianych inwestycjach kolejowych.
The implementation of large infrastructure investments in Poland is usually associated with an extended duration of construction works. Throughout the period of carrying out construction and assembly works, many factors may appear that may affect the time and cost of the entire project. Such situations include the occurrence of additional works that significantly affect the entire investment. The article will present the characteristics of the phenomenon and the consequences of additional works appearing in railway construction investments.

In this paper the proposal of a model for quality management system for construction services has been presented. The first part of the article contains the theoretical framework of quality management, system approach to quality and construction service. Afterwards, in reference to quoted literature and the outcomes of a customer questionnaire conducted among potential customers of construction enterprises, the proposal of a model for quality management system has been developed.
