Pertanto, un’analisi dei testi della fondatrice dell’Ordine del Santissimo Salvatore, patrona d’Europa, S. Brigida di Svezia, e la rinnovatrice dell’Ordine nel XX secolo, S. Elisabetta Hesselblad. Come punto di partenza per l’analisi è stato scelto un brano del Vangelo di san Giovanni, che racconta l’incontro tra Gesù e la Samaritana. In questo episodio evangelico troviamo uno stimolo a riscoprire il senso della vita consacrata. Un’attenta analisi dei testi di S. Brigida di Svezia e di S. Elisabetta Hesselblad mostra la loro pertinenza nel contesto dell’insegnamento contemporaneo della Chiesa sulla vita consacrata. Dopo tanti secoli, il cammino spirituale tracciato dalle fondatrici parla alla modernità. Sono vere maestre di vita cristiana e profetesse dei tempi nuovi. I loro pensieri, saldamente radicati nella Parola di Dio, ci permettono di trovare risposte ai dilemmi e alle sfide contemporanee della vita consacrata. La spiritualità delle Brigidine è sfaccettata e complessa, tutto da riscoprire nella sua attualità.
The aim of this article is to present the Brigidian spirituality in the face of the current challenges of consecrated life. Therefore, an analysis of the texts of the founder of the Order of the Most Holy Savior, the patron of Europe, St. Bridget of Sweden, and the renewal of the Order in the 20th century, St. Elizabeth Hesselblad. As a starting point for the analysis, a passage from the Gospel of Saint John was chosen, which tells of the encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman. In this Gospel episode we find an incentive to rediscover the meaning of consecrated life. A careful analysis of the texts of St. Bridget of Sweden and St. Elizabeth Hesselblad shows their relevance in the context of the Church’s contemporary teaching on consecrated life. After so many centuries, the spiritual path traced by the foundresses speaks to modernity. They are true teachers of Christian life and prophetesses of the new times. Their thoughts, firmly rooted in the Word of God, enable us to find answers to the dilemmas and contemporary challenges of consecrated life. Brigidian spirituality is multifaceted and complex, all to be rediscovered in its actuality.

Secular institutes are a form of consecrated life that only came into being in the last century and therefore do not have a long history. For this reason, there are also only a few canonical and ecclesiastical documents. Since the characteristics of secular institutes, in contrast to traditional monastic communities, are rather unknown, this article aims to contribute to making them somewhat better known and to present the regulations on various elements, such as spirituality, community life, governance and asset management. However, the codified norms only form a legal framework here, which leaves concretisation to the institutes' own regulations, so that there is a wide range. What all institutes have in common, however, is the connection between action and contemplation, which is also their main characteristic.

Życie pustelnicze jest ogromnym darem dla Kościoła. Obecnie można zauważyć zwiększone zainteresowanie tą indywidualną formą życia konsekrowanego. Kobiety i mężczyźni udają się na współczesne pustynie, aby trwać w Bożej obecności i złączyć swoje życie z Ukrzyżowanym Chrystusem. Ich tożsamość na nowo została wytyczona po Soborze Watykańskim II w kan. 603 Kodeksu prawa kanonicznego. Zwraca on uwagę na teologiczne (odsunięcie od świata, milczenie odosobnienia, gorliwa modlitwa, pokuta) i prawne (indywidualna forma życia, publiczna profesja trzech rad ewangelicznych oraz życie zgodne z statutem osobowym) elementy tożsamości pustelniczej.
A hermit life is a significant honour for the Church. Currently, we can notice an increased interest in this individual form of consecrated life. Women and men go to modern deserts to stay in God’s presence and unite their lives with the Crucified Christ. Their identity have redefined after the Second Vatican Council in canon 603 of the Code of Canon Law, which singles out the theological (retreat from the world, silence of seclusion, ardent prayer, penance) and legal (individual life form, public profession of three evangelical councils and life in accordance with the personal statute) elements of hermit identities.

Tajemnica życia całkowicie poświęconego Bogu przekracza zdolność rozumienia i pojmowania opartą jedynie na logice czysto ludzkiej. Życie konsekrowane stanowi świadectwo wyboru racjonalności otwartej na transcendencję, dającej prymat stwórczemu Rozumowi i stawiającej w centrum tajemnicę Logosu Wcielonego. Osoba zakonna żyje radami ewangelicznymi, które są zrozumiałe jedynie w świetle wiary i tylko według logiki Ewangelii. Praktyka czystości, ubóstwa i posłuszeństwa znajduje się w widocznej opozycji do niektórych współczesnych kryteriów racjonalności. Życie konsekrowane jest wobec tego drogą poszerzania przestrzeni racjonalności.
The article presents the issue of rationality of the consecrated life according to the teaching of Benedict XVI. The mystery of a life totally devoted to God surpasses the ability of understanding and comprehension based on nothing but the human logic. Consecrated life is a testimony of the choice of rationality open to transcendence – this choice gives the primacy to the creative Reason and has the mystery of the incarnate Logos in its centre. A consecrated person lives according to the evangelical counsels which are understandable only in the light of faith and only according to the evangelical logic. The practice of chastity, poverty and obedience is in visible opposition to some contemporary criteria of rationality. Consecrated life is the way to enlarge the area of rationality.

The aim of this article is to characterize the type of statements of vocations as linguistic action with two main functions: informative and persuasive. The author analyzes the relation transceiver, a communicative position, the sender’s assumed intention, and the strategies for its realization. The material taken from websites and folders promoting vocation to the priesthood and consecrated life, both shows tendency to construct modern texts in the form and contents, like a video clip, poster, as well as much simpler, schematic in composition, semantically and stylistically texts, based on informing and activating the recipient, encouraging him to contact with the community. The sender of text appears here frequently as a mediator between God and a future candidate for monastic life, using a positively evaluative and characteristic component – the voice of the member.

Można to potraktować jako swego rodzaju exemplum, które wskazuje, jak w życiu konsekrowanym, przede wszystkim w zakonach prowadzących czynne życie apostolskie, łączyć dwa wspomniane wymiary, utrzymując ich właściwą proporcję i równowagę. W pierwszej części artykułu omówiono apostolstwo świadectwa życia franciszkanów, apostolstwo własne i formy apostolstwa zleconego przez hierarchię. Druga część artykułu zawiera rozważania o charakterystycznych elementach wyrażających kontemplacyjny sposób życia franciszkanów: życie modlitwy, nawrócenie i pokutę oraz wspólnotę braterską.
The article is an attempt to answer the question: what are the apostolic and contemplative aspects of religious life with regards to St. Francis' imitators based on the “Constitutions of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual?” It may be treated as a kind of exemplar, which indicates how to combine these two aspects in proper balance and proportions for those in consecrated life, especially in the orders leading an active apostolic life. The first part of the article discusses the apostolic witness of the life of the Franciscans, their own apostolate and the apostolate commissioned by the Church hierarchy. The second part presents specific elements of contemplative life of the Franciscans: the prayer life, conversion and penance, and community life.

Świętość rodzin jest głównym warunkiem wzrostu i dojrzewania autentycznych powołań oraz najwłaściwszą odpowiedzią na współczesny kryzys kultury powołaniowej.
Building and transmitting vocational culture is among the primary duties of the Christian family. Vocational culture is composed of all actions supporting the work of awakening vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life. Characteristic elements of this culture are: deep religiosity, awareness of the Church mission and the correct vision of vocation. The family builds and transmits vocational culture through a conscious and consistent process of formation according to Christian values and models of behaviour. It thus answers the general call to love and holiness. It is aptly named the Home Church, the first seminary, and the treasury of vocations. The holiness of families is the main condition for the growth and maturation of authentic vocations, and the most appropriate answer to the modern crisis of vocational culture.

The term consecrated life appeared quite recently. Though it is commonly used, and yet – as it seems – it is not understand to the full extend even by the very persons to whom it refers. That’s because not many of them read the John Paul’s II Canonical Law Code of 1983, where there is given a full definition of the consecrated life. The term is usually explained as the life particularly sacrificed (consecrated) to God. At the same time sacrament of baptism - called also by the term of baptismal consecration - already dedicates the life of each baptized to God, so it becomes a true consecrated life. Likewise  a priest by reception of the consecration sacrament simultaneously  sacrifices himself to God. What kind of  consecration then we are talking about in the case of so called consecrated persons? When it takes place, and what so much distinguishes the consecrated persons, that they create separate class in the Church, though it is not a hierarchic one? The answers for such questions are given in the article, which analyses the  Code’s definition of the consecrated life, and its forms existing in the Catholic Church.
Pojęcie życie konsekrowane pojawiło się stosunkowo niedawno. Chociaż jest ono powszechnie stosowane, to jednak – jak się wydaje – nie jest rozumiane  w sposób pełny  nawet przez same osoby, których dotyczy.  Niewiele z nich sięga bowiem do Kodeksu Prawa Kanonicznego Jana Pawła II z 1983 roku,  gdzie podano pełną definicję życia konsekrowanego. Termin ten najczęściej wyjaśnia się jako życie szczególnie poświęcone (konsekrowane) Bogu. Tymczasem już sakrament chrztu - określany także mianem konsekracji chrzcielnej -  poświęca Bogu życie każdego ochrzczonego, tak że staje się ono prawdziwym życiem konsekrowanym. Również przez przyjęcie sakramentu święceń kapłańskich kapłan konsekruje się całkowicie Bogu. O jaką więc konsekrację chodzi w przypadku tzw. osób konsekrowanych? Kiedy ona się dokonuje i co tak bardzo wyróżnia osoby konsekrowane, że tworzą one odrębny stan w Kościele, chociaż  nie hierarchiczny? Odpowiedzi na tak postawione pytania dostarcza artykuł analizujący  kodeksową definicję życia konsekrowanego i jego form istniejących w Kościele katolickim.

Jednym z ważnych wymiarów realizacji ślubu posłuszeństwa oraz życia wspólnotowego osób konsekrowanych jest dialog. Ma on duży wpływ na prawidłową realizację ślubu posłuszeństwa przez poszczególnych zakonników, jak też na jakość życia wspólnego, zwłaszcza w dziedzinie wierności charyzmatycznej. Zwracając uwagę na podstawowe cele dialogu w życiu zakonnym, artykuł przedstawia jego najważniejsze wymiary, które ostatecznie rzutują zarówno na świętość zakonników, jak też na wierność charyzmatyczną instytutu.
Dialog is one of the important dimensions of the practising of the vow of obedience and the community life of the consecrated people. This practice has significant influence on the correct involvement of the vow of obedience for particular religious as well as the quality of community life, especially when it comes to fidelity to charism. Noticing the main goals of dialog in the consecrated life, the article presents the most important aspects, which ultimately impact the holiness of the religious and the fidelity to the charism of their institute.

The reflection takes into account problems contained in the subject, concentrate on its three fundamental parts of components: the conception of the spirituality of the consecrated life, its identity from which results the whole lifestyle, and called actions, in accordance with rules: agere sequitur esse, and on representative its features reduce. in compliance with the exhortation structure Vita consecrata to three: the consecration, communion and the mission. The spirituality we treat as the sign of the spirit of Christ’s follower, called the special vocation for radical following with Him on the way of the monastic consecration. Therefore this is also the external sign of the spirit, there is essential the identity of the person who should exist in the way “worthy of vocation”, and thereby bear witness the saving presence of God in the today’s world, in the way almost unintentional. There are three characteristic features of spirituality of the consecrated person simultaneously determine her identity: the person devoted of God by the profession of the evangelical counsels; the person of communion with God and brothers, and prophet-witness of great God’s works, which are realized in the weak human. The whole is crowned by the short synthesis which may constitute only some advice on the subject this composed reality, and the invitation to building of this synthesis by individual consecrated persons, and their communities on the existential plane.
Refleksja uwzględnia problematykę zawartą w temacie, skupiając się na jego trzech zasadniczych składowych: koncepcji duchowości życia konsekrowanego, jego tożsamości, z której wynika styl życia i działania powołanych w myśl zasady: „agere sequitur esse”, oraz na jej reprezentacyjnych cechach sprowadzonych za przykładem struktury adhortacji Vita consecrata do trzech: konsekracja, komunia i misja. Duchowość traktujemy jako przejaw ducha ucznia Chrystusa wezwanego szczególnym powołaniem do radykalnego pójścia za Nim drogą zakonnej konsekracji. Ponieważ jest to także zewnętrzny przejaw ducha, istotna jest tożsamość osoby, która powinna egzystować w sposób „godny powołania”, a przez to dawać świadectwo zbawczej obecności Boga w dzisiejszym świecie w sposób niemal bezwiedny. Trzy cechy charakterystyczne duchowości osoby konsekrowanej określają jednocześnie jej tożsamość: osoba oddana przez śluby rad ewangelicznych Bogu; osoba komunii z Bogiem i braćmi oraz prorok-świadek wielkich dzieł Bożych, które realizują się w słabym człowieku. Całość wieńczy krótka synteza, która może stanowić jedynie pewną wskazówkę na temat tej złożonej rzeczywistości i zaproszenie do budowania tej syntezy na płaszczyźnie egzystencjalnej przez poszczególne osoby konsekrowane i ich wspólnoty.

The article presents the issue of formation for hermits, which is currently experiencing a specific heyday in the Church. Recently, more and more people have chosen one of the forms of individual consecrated life as their vocation path. Therefore, the life of the hermit is very popular. In order to take up this specific path of life, one needs an appropriate formation that will allow the future hermit to be correctly formed. In the article, the synthesis contains three selected documents: Hermit Life in the Tarragona Archdiocese. Statutes; The Basic Order of Hermit Life in the Diocese of Regensburg and The State of Hermits. Auxiliary Materials for the Church in Poland and an appendix to this document: Selected Pastoral Guidelines for Consecrated Hermits, which have a valuable full view of formation for this form of consecrated life. These documents are not only to be understood through their application in Can. 603 of the CCL, the spiritual and legal elements, but also unique elements inscribed in the history and spirituality of a given region, are indicated, which can serve the entire community of the Church and constitute a valuable source of the exchange of experiences on the subject of formation.

This article presents the importance of the Gospel in the life of consecrated persons according to the teaching of the Church from Paul VI to Francis. The teaching of Popes Paul VI, John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis point to the Gospel as the norm and rule of consecrated life. There are many points of convergence in the teaching of the post-conciliar popes on the evangelical character of the consecrated life. This issue is a clear example of the continuity of the teaching of the Church. Each of the Popes emphasizes their thought slightly differently, but they all unequivocally demand that consecrated persons be fully faithful to the Gospel. Because of the contemporary crisis of the consecrated life, these recommendations acquire particular significance and constitute a necessary signpost for the future.

Artykuł podejmuje zagadnienie wiary w życiu osób konsekrowanych. Jego celem jest stwierdzenie, w jakim sensie – w świetle myśli Josepha Ratzingera/Benedykta XVI – wiara jest podstawą odnowy życia osób poświęconych na własność Bogu. Artykuł wskazuje, że ich zadanie to umacnianie wiary, oraz wyjaśnia, jakie konsekwencje niesie ze sobą to posłannictwo. Benedykt XVI podkreśla, że życie konsekrowane nie rozmija się ze swoją istotą jedynie wtedy, gdy jest przeżywane w wierze. Oczekuje od osób całkowicie oddanych Bogu, by żyły głęboką wiarą, intensywną i żywą więzią osobową z Chrystusem, w dynamice ciągłego poszukiwania Oblicza Pana, a od konkretnej realizacji tych postaw uzależniona jest odnowa ich życia. Analiza papieskiej myśli pozwala wyciągnąć ważne wnioski wyznaczające kierunek wyjścia z kryzysowej sytuacji, w której współcześnie znajduje się życie konsekrowane.
The article addresses the issue of faith in the life of consecrated persons. Its aim is to state in what sense – in the light of the thought of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI – faith is the foundation for the renewal of the life of those consecrated to God. The article points out that their task is to strengthen the faith; it explains what consequences this mission entails. Benedict XVI emphasises that only a consecrated life lived in faith does not fail to live up to its essence. He expects persons totally dedicated to God to live a profound faith, an intense and living personal relationship with Christ, in a dynamic of constant search for the Face of the Lord, and the renewal of their lives depends on the concrete realisation of these attitudes. The analysis of the Pope’s thought allows us to draw important conclusions that point the way out of the crisis situation in which consecrated life finds itself today.

Z punktu widzenia biblijnego i nauczania kościelnego kategoria powołania jawi się jako kluczowa dla zrozumienia i określenia miejsca człowieka w świecie i nadania mu sensu. Wydaje się jednak, że obecnie ta kategoria znajduje się w kryzysie, o czym świadczy znikome odwoływanie się do niej w teologii i w życiu duchowym, a niejednokrotnie zastępuje się ją innymi kategoriami, wśród których na pierwsze miejsce wchodzi modna kategoria profesjonalizmu. Z drugiej jednak strony, człowiek odkrywa dzisiaj głód ducha rozumiany jako poszukiwanie głębszego sensu swojej misji w świecie. Jest on na pewno wzbudzany przez Ducha Świętego oraz same wydarzenia i zjawiska historyczne, które dzisiaj obserwujemy, potwierdzające, że chodzi o głód Ducha Świętego, który ukierunkowuje życie ludzkie na Boga. Odnowione odwołanie się więc do kategorii powołania może przyczynić się do wzbudzenia w człowieku nowego zapału duchowego i czynnego uczestniczenia w dziejach.
From the biblical point of view as well as for what the teachings of the Church state the notion of vocation appears to be a key category for the understanding and determining the place of man in the world and for making him meaningful. However, it seems that, currently this category is confronted with a period of crisis, which is reflected in a scarce number of references made to it in theology and spiritual life. It happens quite often that other categories are substituted for it like for instance “professionalism” which is one of the most fashionable categories of this sort these days. On the other hand, man discovers today a craving for the spirit understood as a search for a more profound meaning of his mission in the world. It is certainly inspired by the Holy Spirit and the very historical events and phenomena which we can observe today and which confirm the fact that it is about the craving for the Holy Spirit who turns people towards God. The renewed reference to the category of vocation may contribute to the stimulation of a new spiritual zeal in man and to an active participation in the course of history.

Opis:
The Institute of the Holy Family is a secular institute of consecrated life, thus bearing out the Church’s contemporary thought on sanctification and evangelization. The institute was founded by Archbishop Kazimierz Majdański and Dr Monika Wójcik. Its particular charisma is that total consecration to the Holy Family and thence service aimed to the rescuing and rediscovery of the contemporary family. The Institute just like Faculty of Family Studies is the next step in the formation of the Work of Mercy promised during the Second World War by Polish priests imprisoned in a German concentration camp Dachau. The members of the Holy Family Institute serves families in the spirit of the Church’s teaching on marriage and family. The paper will be discussed: the creation, charisma and spirituality of the Holy Family Institute and the forms of ministry: working for the Institute / Faculty of Family Studies, the formation of families in the Foci of the Holy Family, the Family Support Foundation and other works of members of the Institute.
Instytut Świętej Rodziny jest instytutem świeckim życia konsekrowanego, jako taki realizuje nową myśl Kościoła o uświęceniu i ewangelizacji. Instytut został założony przez ks. arcybiskupa Kazimierza Majdańskiego i dr Monikę Wójcik. Jego własnym charyzmatem jest całkowite oddanie Świętej Rodzinie, a poprzez to oddanie posługa na rzecz ratowania i odrodzenia współczesnej rodziny. Instytut, tak jak Wydział Studiów nad Rodziną UKSW, jest kolejnym etapem powstawania Dzieła Miłosierdzia przyrzeczonego podczas II wojny światowej przez polskich kapłanów więzionych w niemieckim obozie koncentracyjnym Dachau. Członkowie Instytutu Świętej Rodziny służą rodzinom w duchu nauczania Kościoła o małżeństwie i rodzinie. W artykule zostaną omówione: powstanie, charyzmat i duchowość Instytutu Świętej Rodziny oraz formy posługi: praca na rzecz Instytutu / Wydziału Studiów nad Rodziną, formacja rodzin w Ogniskach Świętej Rodziny, działalność Fundacji Pomoc Rodzinie i inne zaangażowania członków Instytutu.
