Opis:: In the paper we give a survey of (co)homologies of braid groups and groups connected with them. Among these groups are pure braid groups and generalized braid groups. We present explicit formulations of some theorems of V. I. Arnold, E. Brieskorn, D. B. Fuks, F. Cohen, V. V. Goryunov and others. The ideas of some proofs are outlined. As an application of (co)homologies of braid groups we study the Thom spectra of these groups.

Opis:: Jednym z istotnych zagadnień dotyczących zmian i przekształceń w urbanistycznej tkance miast jest zależność między zmianami konfiguracji przestrzennej różnych obszarów miasta a zmianami w sposobie użytkowania tych miejsc. W artykule podjęto analizę projektu zmiany układu komunikacyjnego i przestrzennego w rejonie ulicy Staszica i ronda Giedroycia w Szczecinie. Jednocześnie artykuł zawiera prezentacja rozwiązania projektowego kładki i zagospodarowania przyległego skweru miejskiego u zbiegu ulic Staszica i Wyzwolenia, którego współautorem jest autor artykułu. Przedstawiono również analizy zmian w zakresie funkcjonowania przestrzeni związanej z kładką pieszą oraz problemy natury urbanistycznej towarzyszące takim realizacjom. Projekt zrealizowano i oddano do użytkowania w roku 2008.
One of the important problems related to transformation of urban space in cities relation between spatial reconfiguration and changes in usage of different areas in the city. The article includes analysis on impact of urban project on space usage of important space within city centre of Szczecin. Analyses refer to functional and usage aspects of the project prepared as a co-author by author of this article. Project was completed in 2008.

Opis:: This paper addresses the constrained motion planning problem for passive joint manipulators with friction. Constraints are imposed on a system state space vector. The dynamics of underactuated manipulators are described by a control-affine system with a drift term. In order to solve the constrained motion planning problem the imbalanced Jacobian algorithm derived from an endogenous configuration space approach is used. The state space constraints are included into the system representation of the manipulator dynamics. The extended system is subject to regularisation because of the Jacobian singularities, then the unconstrained motion planning problem is solved for the regularised system. The solution of the motion planning problem for this system is equivalent to the solution of the constrained motion planning problem for an original system. Performance of the imbalanced Jacobian algorithm has been demonstrated with series of simulation for the two kinds of manipulators with and without friction.

Opis:: We study the kinematics of the trident snake robot equipped with either active joints and passive wheels or passive joints and active wheels. A control system representation of the kinematics is derived, and control singularities examined. Two motion planning problems are addressed, corresponding to diverse ways of controlling the robot, and solved by means of the endogenous configuration space approach. The constraints imposed by the presence of control singularities are handled using the imbalanced Jacobian algorithm assisted by an auxiliary feedback. Performance of the motion planning algorithms is demonstrated by computer simulations.

Opis:: An individual-based model of an infinite system of point particles in Rd is proposed and studied. In this model, each particle at random produces a finite number of new particles and disappears afterwards. The phase space for this model is the set Γ of all locally finite subsets of Rd. The system's states are probability measures on Γ the Markov evolution of which is described in terms of their correlation functions in a scale of Banach spaces. The existence and uniqueness of solutions of the corresponding evolution equation are proved.

Opis:: The Markov dynamics of an infinite continuum birth-and-death system of point particles with age is studied. Each particle is characterized by its location \(x\in \mathbb{R}^d\) and age \(a_x\geq 0\). The birth and death rates of a particle are age dependent. The states of the system are described in terms of probability measures on the corresponding configuration space. The exact solution of the evolution equation for the correlation functions of first and second orders is found.

Opis:: The motion planning problem consists in finding a control function which drives the system to a desired point. The motion planning algorithm derived with an endogenous configuration space approach assumes that the motion takes place in an arbitrary chosen time horizon. This work introduces a modification to the motion planning algorithm which allows to reach the destination point in time, which is shorter than the assumed time horizon. The algorithm derivation relies on the endogenous configuration space approach and the continuation (homotopy) method. To achieve the earlier destination reaching a new formulation of the task map and the task Jacobian are introduced. The efficiency of the new algorithm is depicted with simulation results.

Opis:: The paper aims to juxtapose the literary portrayals of the socialist Warsaw and Francoist Madrid depicted in two postwar novels: The Man with the White Eyes by Leopold Tyrmand and The Hive by Camilo José Cela1, respectively. The starting point for the considerations is geopoetics and, more precisely, the concept of the sensory and emotive topographies. It is intended to demonstrate that the approach in question provides the tools adequate to analyse the configuration of Warsaw’s and Madrid’s urban spaces portrayed in Polish novels from the Polish People’s Republic period and Spanish novels from the Francoism period. The comparative approach, in turn, enables the juxtaposing of the research objects and gathering of the data useful for the purposes of Polish-Spanish intercultural studies, such as intercultural communication studies.

Opis:: In this paper a small time local controllability, naturally defined in a configuration space, is transferred into a task-space. It was given its analytical characterization and practical implcations. A special attention was put on singular configurations. Theoretical considerations were illustrated with two calculation examples. An extensive comparison of the proposed construction with the controllability defined in an endogenous configuration space approach was presented pointing out to their advantages and disadvantages.

Opis:: This paper discusses the configuration of a space-effective rack cell for storing a given set of heterogeneous items. Rack cells are the primary components of rack storage areas. A rack cell configuration problem (RCCP) for heterogeneous storage is formulated as a combinatorial mathematical model. An effective heuristic for solving the RCCP in practical cases is presented. The proposed heuristic consists of multistage brute force searching of defined sets of feasible solutions and solving linear integer assignment problems by the branch-and-bound method. The developed algorithm was implemented and tested, and the rack cell obtained meets the modularity requirements in the design and operation of heterogeneous storage areas.
