Opis:: The paper presents a method of analyzing dependability aspects of service oriented information systems based on functional and dependability modelling. Analysis approach is based on integrating different computer system models into one coherent model suitable for simulation. To simplify integration of the models author propose an automatic solution that is integrated with the tools chosen for system analysis. Analysis is done with a usage of open-source simulation environment that can be easily modified and extended for farther work. Based on the simulation results, with respect to defined dependability and functionality metrics, some alternatives can be chosen in case of system or service failure. The paper presents developed software which implements described methodology and results of analysis for an exemplary business service oriented complex information system.

Opis:: W pracy przedstawiono historię rozwoju badań związanych z komputerowym przetwarzaniem, analizą i rozpoznawaniem obrazów, jaka miała miejsce w Katedrze Automatyki AGH oraz w Instytutach ją poprzedzających, bowiem Katedra ta w kilkudziesięcioletnim okresie swego działania przechodziła różne metamorfozy organizacyjne, wzmiankowane w artykule. Z przebogatego i różnorodnego spektrum dorobku naukowego Katedry wybrano wyłącznie wątek związany z początkami komputerowej analizy i przetwarzania obrazów. Opisano, jak w latach 70. pracownicy Katedry własnoręcznie budowali zarówno przetworniki wprowadzające pierwsze obrazy do komputerów, jak i procesory przetwarzające te obrazy. Wzmiankowano o pierwszych systemach wieloprocesorowych do przetwarzania obrazów, które zbudowano na AGH w latach 80. oraz o poszukiwaniu zastosowań tych systemów w połączeniu z technikami opartymi na sieciach neuronowych na początku lat 90. Dzisiaj wszystkie te dokonania i związanie z nimi, przywołane w artykule publikacje, mają wyłącznie historyczne znaczenie. Czasem warto jednak odwołać się do historii, żeby lepiej rozumieć dzień dzisiejszy określonej dziedziny oraz trafniej przewidywać kierunki jej rozwoju.
In the paper is presented the brief history of research conducted at AGH Chair of Automatics in the area of image processing, analysis and recognition. The history is connected with changes of the Chairs name, because present state of the Chair of Automatics is result of many transformation and in the paper is described long chain of scientific institutes preceding it. Nevertheless in scientific group under consideration at 70th and 80th years of XX century was conducted pioneer works devoted to building of second in Poland and one of the first in Europe systems for computer processing of the images. At such early stage of development both electronics and computer science it war very challenging and very difficult task. In the paper was described way from the very beginning computer vision systems produced in Chair laboratories, next the development of such system is described and actual state of art is presented. The paper is presented for the anniversary of the Faculty of Electrotechics, Automatics, Information Sciences, and Electronics in AGH University of Science and Technology and therefore is mainly oriented for presentation of historical events instead of actual achievements of Chair Staff.

Wyszczególniono warstwę technologiczną, tj. systemy oprogramowania komputerowego służące do zarządzania procesami edukacyjnymi i treściami, uwzględniając środowisko, w jakim funkcjonuje współczesny student.
New information technologies, information and communication have changed in a fundamental way, which rightly W. Walat [2013: 177]. Human communication with another human being, first and foremost important to me enriching. Consequently, there are new challenges for teachers and educators aimed to seek ever more efficient ways to transfer knowledge. The article presents a definition of e-learning and on the basis of her, showing areas of its operation. Specified layer technology, i.e. software systems for managing educational processes and content, taking into account the environment in which operates a modern student.

Opis:: The predicted annual growth of energy consumption in ICT by 4% towards 2020, despite improvements and efficiency gains in technology, is challenging our ability to claim that ICT is providing overall gains in energy efficiency and Carbon Imprint as computers and networks are increasingly used in all sectors of activity. Thus we must find means to limit this increase and preserve quality of service (QoS) in computer systems and networks. Since the energy consumed in ICT is related to system load, ]this paper discusses the choice of system load that offers the best trade-off between energy consumption and QoS.We use both simple queueing models and measurements to develop and illustrate the results. A discussion is also provided regarding future research directions.

Opis:: Large-scale systems, such as computer and telecommunication networks, complex control systems and many others, operate in inherently parallel environments. It follows that there are many opportunities to admit parallelism into both the algorithm of control implementation and simulation of the system operation considered. The paper addresses issues associated with the application of parallel discrete event simulation (PDES). We discuss the PDES terminology and methodology. Particular attention is paid to the software environment CSA&S/PV (Complex Systems Analysis & Simulation-Parallel Version), which provides a framework for simulation experiments performed on parallel computers. CSA&S/PV was applied to investigate several real-life problems. The case studies are presented for both computer and water networks.

Opis:: Health informatics is characterized by the need to securely store, process and transmit large amounts of sensitive medical data while ensuring interoperability with other systems. Among many standards used in such systems there are two which have gained interest in recent years and cover most of those needs: openEHR and HL7 FHIR. In this paper, both standards are discussed and compared with each other. The architecture of both systems, the similarities and differences, methods of data modeling and ensuring interoperability were presented.

Opis:: Generalnie analizy geoprzestrzenne, tak potrzebne w rolnictwie, dokonywane są przy użyciu systemów informatycznych typu GIS. Alternatywne sposoby ich przeprowadzenia, z perspektywy aktualnie dostępnych technologii informatycznych, są i mogą być wykonywane przez dedykowane aplikacje, wykorzystujące typy geograficzne i geometryczne oferowane na poziomie SQL Server 2008. Ich powstanie nie byłoby możliwe bez implementacji tych typów również w środowisku programistycznym Visual Studio 2008 i 2010. Posługując się tymi technologiami, autorzy wytworzyli system informatyczny, wspomagający analizę rynku ubezpieczeń rolnych w oparciu o potencjał produkcji roślinnej gospodarstw rolnych. Analiza ta w głównej mierze bazuje na danych typu geograficznego.
In general, geospatial analysis, so essential in agriculture, is conducted using GIS systems. Considering the current state of information technology, alternative methods may and do involve dedicated applications that use geography and geometry data types, available on the SQL Server 2008 level. Their creation would not be possible without the types being implemented in Visual Studio 2008 and 2010 development environment as well. Using these technologies, the authors have created an information system that supports agricultural insurance market analysis based on vegetal production potential of farms. This analysis primarily uses geographical data.

During recent years computer maintenance management systems in enterprises have been changing significantly. These systems were successfully applied to many branches of industry. It seems to be inevitable to implement these systems for ship maintenance. When maintenance management systems are implemented it makes it possible to optimise the following: inventory management, delivery management, outsourcing and maintenance tasks, what affects the economical effects of enterprise.

Opis:: The development of transport systems is largely supported by telematic systems, therefore it is necessary to ensure their high availability and reliability of IT systems. The authors of the article, recognizing this important problem, have developed software for remote management and monitoring of the computer systems used in transport telematic systems. The software uses WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) technology, which is the Microsoft implementation of Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM). The WMI service uses a Common Information Model (CIM) to represent managed network components (i.e. computers, printers, disks, memory, CPUs, processes). All these objects represent a set of information that could be described in a data model and can be stored in the WMI database - CIM repository. In the paper, the authors present the methodology of using this technology and its practical implementation in software. The conducted researches confirmed the great usefulness of this standard in the diagnostics of computer systems used in transport telematic systems.

Opis:: Currently, the majority of the existing IT systems and those that are under development are based on applications that work with database servers. The ever wider range of functionalities that such servers are able to provide results in an increase in the number of their users and in the amount of data processing. This leads to performance problems. Such problems are addressed through both programming and hardware solutions. In terms of programmatic solutions the authors' interest is focused on table structures in RDBMS's and their performance in terms of write operations on data. So far analyses have been conducted relating to the impact of the presence of a primary key and the way it is generated on data write operations in a sample of relational databases.
Aktualnie większość istniejących i tworzonych systemów informatycznych to aplikacje współpracujące z serwerami bazodanowymi. Oferowana przez nie coraz szersza gama funkcjonalności skutkuje zarówno wzrostem liczby użytkowników, jak i przetwarzanych danych. Powoduje to pojawienie się problemów z wydajnością. Rozwiązywane są one zarówno poprzez działania programistyczne, jak i sprzętowe. Przedmiotem zainteresowania autorów z obszaru działań programistycznych stała się definicja (struktura) samej tabeli w RDBMS z perspektywy wydajności zapisu danych. Dotychczas przeanalizowano wpływ klucza podstawowego i sposobu jego generowania na zapis danych w przykładowo wybranych bazach relacyjnych.

Opis:: Dependability is a key issue in modern computer systems, particularly when dealing with critical systems. All related concepts should be clearly defined and applied, including their attributes, components and threats. It is also necessary to differentiate between faults, errors and failures and also between the various techniques to handle such hazards. Additionally, concepts like verification or validation must also be clearly differentiated.
W artykule podano precyzyjną klasyfikację, koncepcje i przyjętą terminologię pojęć związanych bezpieczeństwem niezawodnością i bezpieczeństwem w systemach komputerowych. Zwrócono uwagę na atrybuty niezawodności oraz rodzaje propagacji uszkodzeń. W trybach awaryjnych systemu określono metody przeciwdziałania, zwracając uwagę na weryfikację tych metod. Jako szczególny tryb weryfikacji niezawodności systemu komputerowego wyróżniono testy iniekcji uszkodzeń.

Opis:: Szeroka dostępność systemów komputerowych ostatnich dwudziestu lat wywarła swoje piętno na filozofię i praktyczne wykorzystanie technik obliczeniowych w zakresie modelowania procesu eksploatacji i zagospodarowania złóż węglowodorów. Nie bez znaczenia dla rozwoju oprogramowania miał również przyspieszony proces przetwarzania informacji geologicznej oraz sposób zbierania i monitorowania parametrów złożowych, czy parametrów gazu podczas transportu ropy naftowej i gazu ziemnego. Ogromny postęp w dziedzinie sprzętu uzupełniany jest szybko poprzez nowości "softwarowe" - niniejszy referat prezentuje niektóre - wybrane programy obliczeniowe stosowane w inżynierii naftowej.
The common availability of computer system over the last twenty years exerted influence on the philosophy and practical use of calculation techniques for modelling exploitation and management of hydrocarbon deposits. Another factor having an influence on the development of software was the faster process of geologic data processing as well as the way in which deposit data were collected and monitored; in the case of gas transport - it is also the gas parameters during gas and oil transport operations. The great progress in hardware technology is accompanied by the software novelties. Some of them, i.e. selected calculation programs used for oil engineering are presented in the paper.
