Opis:
Shared Services sector became on of the main places hiring accounting and finance specialists as well as professionals with IT skills. New entrants are opened in Poland every year, employing about 200,000 people and increasingly seeking candidates with higher qualifications. The paper discusses favorable location factors for the SSC and BPO underlining the important role of the talent and competence pull as a prerequisite for the success of a shared services center and considering the quality and performance of business services provided by these centers. The result of the research conducted among the University of Lodz students is presented and short discussion on the state of knowledge and their expectations in relation to employment in some units is provided.

Opis:
The paper examines the relations between teacher competencies and the specificity of the use of ICT tools in professional activities. The research was carried out within the frame of the IRNet project with the participation of two universities – the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia and the University of Extremadura, Spain. The results of the survey described give a general idea of various ICT tools use intensity in both countries. Overall, teachers take advantage of the electronic content capabilities for fostering students’ motivation. Teachers benefit from ICT tools’ efficiency and performance, and they use cloud technologies for supporting networking and collaboration. Spanish teachers appear to be more active users of ICT tools. They apply LMS more intensively, together with own lectures recordings and foreign language e-resources. For facilitating students’ communication, they apply discussion forums and online lectures intensively. For management, the most popular tools are electronic organisers, criterial rubrics, and online polls. The choice of e-resources that teachers use is largely based on their communication preferences and ways to manage teaching; these e-resources aim at facilitating learners’ cognitive activities. As in the case of the active use of LMS, the electronic system induces the application of available communication means (e.g. forums, online lectures, etc.) together with the appropriate management capabilities (e.g. electronic organisers, criterial rubrics, online polls, etc.). The results of the survey can help identify problem areas in teachers’ ICT competencies.

Opis:
This paper discusses the key competencies in the 21st century in the context of a transition to a new humanistic paradigm of education as well as the results of the PISA 2012 study “Creative Problem Solving.” Contradictions between traditional skills and 21st century competencies of a school graduate are analyzed. The article also discusses contradictions between social needs of a person with a highly developed intellectual, spiritual and moral potential, and an insufficient development of theoretical and methodological bases of the student’s key com- petence development, as well as between the traditional methods of computer science teaching and the necessity to solve problems during the educational process supported by the use of ICT. The results of the application of ICT teaching methods based on the principles of humane pedagogy are presented, and their effectiveness is confirmed.

Digital Communication Capabilities (Digital Competencies)
Opis:
An information society as a sociological concept developed in the 1960s by economists Fritz Machlup and Tadao Umesco as a substitute for an economic counterpart known as the knowledge-based economy. The information society is based on creation, distribution, diffusion, usage, integration and manipulation of information which are significant for a social life and economic, political, as well as cultural activities. Specific to this kind of society is a crucial position information and communication technologies (ICT) have for digital communication skills, exchange of information, education, professional careers and business, and recently including politics. In other words, ICT is a tool that has been engendering new ways of living and working together. Therefore, it is worth to examine whether the Polish individuals (households) are ready enough to benefit from socioeconomic growth brought by the usage of ICT in order to alter life and work styles. The subject of the empirical analysis is a percentage of individuals possessing presumed digital skills, self-assessment of them against a background of the European Union’s inhabitants (EU-27), as well as the ways of digital capabilities’ development. Presented study bases on the hypothesis that the Polish households (individuals) have been making efforts to transform irreversibly their manners of living in virtual reality. Analyzing and concluding are based on the Polish Central Statistical Office reports (GUS) and Eurostat over 20051 – 2008.

Opis:
Information and communication technologies (ICT) can help solve the problems connected with forming mathematical competencies in students and are used in the process of teaching mathematics. The first part of the paper presents the theoretical background of the subject matter, including: the description of mathematical competencies and their identification at secondary school in Poland, Niemierko’s taxonomy, the programmed learning theory, and the structure of the system of education/learning in the e-learning environment. It expresses the preconditions, expected results, concepts, objectives, hypotheses, and research methods. The practical part describes the structure of “Mathematics with Moodle,” a system for individual learning based on the original authorial MatLearn module, and its graphic representation. A didactic tool is proposed – an e-learning course preparing students for the school-leaving exam in mathematics and improving students’ mathematical competencies. Its aim is to increase the level of competencies, especially those which have not been mastered yet. In order to construct study activities in the course, the programmed learning principles and Niemierko’s taxonomy were used.

Opis:
Currently, in the context of an introduction of digital ICT in education, we are facing a problem of determinants in successful digital education that are compatible with the primary educational goals. Under the term significant determinants we understand digital competencies of teachers that necessarily become a subject of development. These competencies are pragmatically reflected in the frames or documents that describe the pedagogical training of future teachers. The author’s intention is to outline an alternative holistic perspective of understanding pedagogical training in future teachers and their digital competencies that are based more on phenomenology and hermeneutics. This perspective reflects a psychagogic approach to education. The author believes that future student training is expressed in „ars docendi“ also in digital education and this „ars docendi“ cannot be achieved without student’s self-reflection of their relationship with ICT, but especially not without self-understanding in terms of values and meaning. This self-understanding leads to moral self-awareness and responsibility. The author points out that it is necessary to accommodate the future teacher’s personal self-reflection and self-projection and incorporate also those psychagogically relevant elements that would be complementary in the process of developing digital competencies. This will allow overcoming challenges of future teacher education, considering the psychagogic needs in education.
