    The article points to the features of classroom communication which hinder the development of students’ communicative competences. The author describes the paradoxes of classroom communication re ected in the fact that the teachers enjoy signi cantly more rights and privileges than the students with regard to both the form and the content of the messages they express, as well as the paradoxes stemming from the arti cial, formalized language present in the classroom, which actually hinders the development of communicative skills.

    Agent Technology which is described in this paper is an example of a relatively new Information Technology and communications infrastructure that is increasingly gaining popularity. In the article authors present an example of Agent Technology to support the assessment of human resources in the enterprise. Brief analysis of Agent Technology together with the definition of manager's skills as well as basic characteristics of the agent have been done. Description of an example of agents that have been modeled within the area of human resources allowing to create a competence gap, by searching the differences between desired and actual level of competence assimilation. The article presents also a model of agent system that consists of individual agents. Agents exchange information between themselves and users of the system, and on that basis make decisions about competence gap. The authors proposed three basic types of agents: Interface Agent (APU), an Intermediate Agent (AK) and Task Agent (AKLK). Agent system proposed by the authors will determine competence gap as well as enable definition of manager's profile involved in the study (based on information obtained from himself) and finally, it will generate a list of competencies required for analysis. System will divide competences into subsets (depending on the manager's profile) and define required level of competence and designate competence gap. It will also allow comparative analysis of the manager's competence levels and generate proposals of methods for raising the competence level.

    The article presents an analysis of the results of a survey conducted in 2022 among students and young graduates of three vocational education courses, studying in EU countries (N = 428). The area of research concerns the awareness of competencies sought-after by employers and the self-assessed level of these competencies. The authors used tests of the equality of two means in order to check for differences in assessments according to the respondents' metric characteristics, and also factor analysis to check for similarities in attitudes towards different types of competencies in the respondents' assessments. Finding such similarities would allow to use a summative scale and reduce the dimensions.
    W artykule zaprezentowano analizę wyników badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych w 2022 r. na grupie uczniów i młodych absolwentów trzech kierunków kształcenia zawodowego pobierających naukę w kilku krajach unijnych (N = 428). Prezentowany obszar badań dotyczy znajomości kompetencji pożądanych przez pracodawców oraz samooceny poziomu tych kompetencji. Wykorzystano test równości średnich w celu sprawdzenia różnic w ocenach ze względu na cechy metryczkowe respondentów. Analizę czynnikową zastosowano dla sprawdzenia, czy w ocenach respondentów można zauważyć podobieństwo podejścia do różnych rodzajów kompetencji. Ewentualne stwierdzenie takiej prawidłowości pozwoliłoby na stosowanie skali sumacyjnej i redukcję wymiarów.

    This study investigates the use of pragmatic markers (PMs) by learners of English at varying proficiency levels. The study analyzes data from a university-level oral proficiency exam that categorized Chinese and Korean English-as-a-second-language (ESL) speakers into four proficiency levels and compares data with those of native speakers taking the same test. Findings indicate that PM use generally rises with proficiency level. The rates of PM use showed a dramatic increase between the highest and second-highest proficiency group. The highest proficiency ESL group used PMs at the same rate as native speakers. The study also found that the variety of different PMs used goes up steadily with proficiency level. These results are discussed in terms of their implications for understanding how second language learners’ use of PMs develops.

    The paper presents the most important issues concerning competence management in enterprises. It includes tendencies in competence defining and characterizes the competence management process. Particular attention has been drawn in the paper to the competencies of the managerial staff. It presents categories and specificity of managerial competencies and results of empirical studies concerning the advancement level of managerial competence management systems in polish enterprises. The received results were submitted to stratification regarding such categories as management level, functional area of the enterprise, the size of the enterprise, the type and the range of its business activity.
    W pracy przedstawiono najważniejsze kwestie dotyczące problematyki zarządzania kompetencjami w przedsiębiorstwach. Określono tendencje w definiowaniu kompetencji. Scharakteryzowano proces zarządzania kompetencjami. Szczególną uwagę skoncentrowano na kompetencjach kadry kierowniczej. Zaprezentowano kategorie i specyfikę kompetencji menedżerskich. Przedstawiono wyniki badań empirycznych dotyczących zaawansowania systemów zarządzania kompetencjami menedżerskimi w polskich przedsiębiorstwach. Uzyskane rezultaty poddano stratyfikacji, uwzględniając takie kategorie jak: poziom zarządzania, obszar funkcjonalny, wielkość przedsiębiorstwa, przedmiot prowadzonej działalności oraz zasięg działania.

    Purpose: The aim of the paper is to elaborate the structure of the concept of functional digital competences for young adults in the area of work and professional development, and to develop a tool for measuring it. Design/methodology/approach: Based on theoretical assumptions (Klimczuk et al., 2015; Nikodemska, 2016; Tarkowski et al., 2015) as well as empirical verification, the author elaborated a five-factor model of digital competences and a special questionnaire for measuring this concept was prepared. Author used such statistic methods as the EFA, the CFA, the Mann 12 Whitney U test, the Student’s t-test for independent samples, the Spearman’s rho correlation. Findings: The elaborated tool and model was validated and, in the majority, the socio 14 demographic factors (such: age, gender, education level, employability) affecting functional digital competencies were also statistically significant. Research limitations: the study include a relatively small research sample as well as its geographic scope was narrow – the research was conducted at a university of economics in Poland among a group where the school-to-work transition occurs smoothly, and the periods of education and work often overlap. The findings could also be affected by the situation related to the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting major shift of the entire society to online activity. Practical implication: The results show the areas of competency deficiencies in Polish Z generation and could help, by special developing programmes, make them more competitive on the European young people's labour market. Social implication: The development of a society’s digital competences is crucial because in an information society they are the ticket to a successful career and a comfortable, high-quality life. Originality/value: The paper presents the new model and a dedicated measuring tool to assess digital competences of generation Z in the area of work and professional development. It’s addressed to educators, employers, and specialists elaborating programme of society’s digitalization.

    The article presents a solution for one of the significant tasks in pedagogical science and practice, namely the development of regulatory skills in younger school pupils as a significant factor of their educational and cognitive competence development. The aim of our study was to conduct practical evaluation of the proposed program of the development of regulatory skills in younger school pupils. Scientific novelty consists in the created program of the development of regulatory skills in younger school pupils, which generally allow for increasing education and cognitive competence, which is the basis for pupils’ functional expertise, in accordance with the aims and tasks of the state-significance documentation. The study used logical and historical analysis of scientific literature on the topic, pedagogical observation, a survey, questionnaires, testing and a pedagogical experiment. Based on the obtained results, we developed educational and methodological recommendations for teachers on the topic of developing regulatory skills in young school pupils, as an elective class program for 2nd-grade pupils.
