Opis:

The article presents the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration that is a leading educational institution on training for public service system, public and municipal administration. In academy special attention is given to the process of professional development modernization of civil servants, training of specialists on a wide range of programs of higher, additional and postgraduate education in the field of humanitarian and social sciences. For professional development of civil servants in educational process of the Pskov branch two interconnected approaches are used: valuable and competence development on the basis of partnership principle. The use of the competence development approach in the educational process is connected with the third generation standards which widely take root into the education system of modern Russia. The use of these approaches is possible on the basis of partnership principles in a lecturer-student system. Acquired experience showed that civil servant training is effective when it mentions valuable orientation system, career growth prospects and business communication system. The use of two interconnected approaches (valuable and competence development) in educational process of higher educational institution on the basis of partnership principle can promote valuable orientation development and professional competences of civil servants.

Opis:

University Educators for Sustainable Development (UE4SD) is a 3-year project (2013- 2016) with 53 partners from 33 countries across Europe supporting teaching and learning for sustainability in higher education, and providing support and resources for professional development of educators. The main results include identifying the best practice examples of professional development in education for sustainable development (ESD) for European university educators, developing an online platform resource, and an academy of ESD. A mapping of opportunities for university teachers´ competence development in education for sustainable development has been carried out. Based on four regional reports (Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Europe) this state of the art report was compiled. The best practices of the mapping are published in the Leading Practice Publication including insights into the status of ESD and strategies. An online platform of resources will be further developed for support of university educators’ competences. One of the main outputs will be developing an Academy for ESD in higher education in Europe. The project is funded by the European Commission, and Life Long Learning Programme (LPP) – academic networks.

The social capital of an organization is one of the key success factors of enterprises that build their competitive position in the market. This resource, obtained from social structures, can also be used to achieve goals set for public sector organizations, such as universities. Universities operate in conditions of high uncertainty, changing roles, and expectations of stakeholders, which requires adaptability and flexibility of operation. In addition to improving the quality of research and teaching, one of the important evaluation criteria is also the ability to transfer knowledge to the economy and commercialization of research. One of the activities undertaken by universities to support employees in ongoing changes is the implementation of academic scouting, introducing departmental innovation brokers who play the role of coaches/mentors, supporting research and teaching staff by commercializing their research results. The aim of the article is to show how the social capital of departmental innovation brokers supports the development of competences of scientific and research scholars. Based on the conducted qualitative research, it was presented how brokers use their social capital to achieve multidimensional goals in relation to other people, as well as organizational goals resulting from the entrusted function. Factors hindering the cooperation of departmental innovation brokers with academics, which are manifested in various areas of social capital – structural, cognitive, and relational – were analyzed.

Opis:

Jednym z kluczowych instrumentów zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi staje się obecnie zarządzanie kompetencjami. Uwagę zarówno teoretyków zarządzania, jak i praktyków zajmuje poszukiwanie rozwiązań ułatwiających identyfikację i rozwój kompetencji. Skuteczność zarządzania kompetencjami pracowników może zwiększać m.in. implementacja programów wspierania doskonalenia kompetencji. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja różnic w zakresie preferowanych metod doskonalenia kompetencji pracowników w różnym wieku, reprezentantów pokoleń Y, X i Baby Boomers. Na podstawie wyników badań, w których uczestniczyło 2027 osób zatrudnionych w dużych i średnich przedsiębiorstwach, wskazano na preferowane przez pracowników w różnym wieku metody doskonalenia kompetencji oraz sformułowano wnioski dla potrzeb HRM na podstawie stwierdzonych różnic.
Currently, competence management has become one of the critical instruments of HR management. Both management theoreticians and practitioners are focused on search for solutions facilitating competences’ identification and development. Efficiency of employees’ competences’ management may contribute e.g. to the implementation of programs supporting competence development. The objective of the present paper is the identification of differences in the preferred methods of competence development as regards employees of various age-representatives of the Generation Y, X, and Baby Boomers. On the basis of the study encompassing 2027 employees of large and medium companies, the preferred methods of competence development of employees in various age groups were indicated, and recommendations for HRM based on the observed differences were offered.

Przedsiębiorstwa wciąż poszukują nowych koncepcji zmierzających do wzrostu efektywności swoich działów handlowych. Większość z nich koncentruje się wokół organizacji pracy sprzedawcy, bądź szkolenia w zakresie coraz to nowszych technik sprzedaży. Tymczasem dynamiczne zmiany zachodzące w otoczeniu biznesowym sprawiają, że sztywne struktury oraz powielane techniki nie są w stanie sprostać współczesnym wyzwaniom. Dlatego też tak istotne staje się wychodzenie poza sztywne schematy w tym zakresie i rozwój kompetencji pozwalających zwiększyć skuteczność handlowców w kontaktach z klientami. Taką koncepcją jest m.in. samoprzywództwo, pozwalające znacznie zwiększyć zakres samodzielności sprzedawców, stawiając przy tym wymagania stanowiące podstawę do ich rozwoju, zmniejszając przy tym zakres sprawowanej nad nimi kontroli. Artykuł prezentuje nie tylko samą koncepcję samoprzywództwa, ale również możliwy wpływ na zaangażowanie sprzedawców na rynku B2B.
Companies do not stop at looking for new concepts which would increase the effectiveness of their trade departments. Most of them focus on a salesman’s organization of work, as well as on the in-service training in the newest sales techniques. For the time being, dynamic changes which occur in the business environment render fixed structures and repeated techniques obsolete with regard to contemporary challenges. It is therefore essential to reach beyond fixed schemes and develop competences which would allow sales specialists to improve their effectiveness in communication with clients. One of such concepts is selfleadership, which greatly enhances the range of salesmen’s self-reliance; at the same time it establishes clear requirements for their development. It also reduces the need to maintain control. This article presents the idea of self-leadersip and also influence on sales forces to improve their empowerment on the B2B market.

Artykuł koncentruje się na prezentacji założeń podejścia międzykulturowego w oparciu o przykład konferencji CICA. W przedstawionym tekście dokonano przeglądu literatury przedmiotu – umiejętności międzykulturowych – ich założeń, procedur oraz znaczenia. Podano także praktyczne przykłady wykorzystania tego podejścia. W pierwszej części artykułu opisano raport i roboczą definicję kompetencji międzykulturowych oraz zaprezentowano międzykulturowe podejście oparte na pracach Benneta, Deardorff i Heywarda. Na podstawie zilustrowanych ram kompetencji międzykulturowych, przedstawiono kryteria kompetencji międzykulturowych (ICC), które muszą być spełnione przy tworzeniu środowiska wspierającego ich rozwój. Przykłady i jasne kryteria mogą być pomocne przy tworzeniu kolejnych wydarzeń społecznych, konferencji czy szkoleń, bowiem tylko realne stosowanie założeń ICC wspomaga dialog międzykulturowy
The article focuses on the presentation of the assumptions of an intercultural approach based on the example of the CICA conference. The presented text reviews the subject literature – intercultural skills – their assumptions, procedures and meanings. Practical examples of using this approach are also given. The first part of the article describes the report and the working definition of intercultural competences and presents an intercultural approach based on the works of Bennet, Deardorff and Heyward. Based on the illustrated intercultural competence framework, the criteria for intercultural competences (ICC) are set out, which must be met when creating an environment that supports their development. Examples and clear criteria may be helpful in the creation of further social events, conferences or trainings, because only the real application of the ICC assumptions supports intercultural dialogue.

Celem artykułu jest analiza i ocena narzędzia symulacyjnego dla rozwoju kompetencji oraz wskazaniejego możliwych zastosowań. W literaturze istnieje wiele typologii kompetencji i podejść do ich rozwijania. Jako jedna z metod wskazywane są gry szkoleniowe i symulacje. Ponieważ zwykle gry stymulują rozwój więcej niż jednego rodzaju kompetencji, trudne jest kontrolowanie zmiennych na tyle, aby przeprowadzać w tym obszarze eksperymenty. Z drugiej strony możliwe jest dość precyzyjne określenie, jakie kompetencje są kształtowane przez użycie konkretnej gry. Z tego powodu jako metodę badawczą wybrano studium przypadku oparte na pogłębionej analizie istniejącej gry szkoleniowej. Analiza ta pozwoliła określić przydatność konkretnego narzędzia do celów szkoleniowych i rozwoju kompetencji oraz wskazać możliwe warianty zastosowania, które pozwalają rozszerzyć spektrum rozwijanych kompetencji. Równocześnie, dzięki określeniu słabych stron symulacji, możliwe było zaproponowanie alternatywnego jej wykorzystania oraz wzbogacenia o modyfikacje, które pozwalają elastycznie dobierać zakres szkolenia. Artykuł stanowi egzemplifikację jednej z typologii kompetencji i rozwija tę koncepcję o aspekty związane z edukacją i kształtowaniem kompetencji w różnych obszarach.
The aim of this paper is to analyze and assess a simulation tool used for competence development and outline its possible use. Literature offers many different typologies of competencies and approaches to their development. One of them are training games and simulations. Usually games stimulate development of more than just one type of competence, it is difficult to conduct an experiment as there are too many variables to control at the same time. On the other hand it is possible to precisely determine which competencies are developed by which type of game. Therefore as a research method a case study was chosen, based on an in-depth analysis of an existing training game. The analysis let to evaluate its usefulness for specific training competence development purposes as well as show possible variants that enable to widen the spectrum of developed competencies. Thanks to specifying the game’s weaknesses it was possible to enhance and enrich it by some modifications that allow to better fit it to the training’s needs. The paper is an exemplification of one of existing competence typologies and develops it by some educational aspects of competence shaping in various areas.

Celem artykułu jest określenie, w jaki sposób intensywność kontaktu wolontariuszy z beneficjentami realizowanych projektów wpływa na efekty, jakie wolontariat pracowniczy przynosi organizacji. Podstawą rozważań jest badanie jakościowe przeprowadzone w 11 przedsiębiorstwach realizujących programy wolontariatu pracowniczego. Wyniki badania sugerują, że im intensywniejszy jest kontakt nawiązywany przez pracowników-wolontariuszy z beneficjentami wolontariatu, tym szerszy wachlarz kompetencji jest przez nich rozwijany. Z kolei projekty wolontariackie, w których kontakt z beneficjentem jest niewielki, sprzyjają wzmacnianiu integracji pracowników oraz ich identyfikacji z organizacją.
The aim of the article is to identify how the intensity of a volunteer contact with beneficiaries of implemented volunteer projects influences the effects that corporate volunteering brings to the organization. The analyses are based on the qualitative research conducted in 11 companies implementing corporate volunteer programs. The results of the study suggest that the more intense the contact between the volunteer-employees and the beneficiaries of volunteering is, the wider the range of competences they develop. On the other hand, volunteer projects in which contact with the beneficiary is weak contribute to strengthening the integration of employees and their identification with the organization.

Kompetencje komunikacyjne należą do jednych z kluczowych umiejętności społecznych, które umożliwiają ludziom realizację własnych potrzeb w zgodzie z obowiązującymi normami. Badania dowodzą, że ich rozwój stanowi ważny czynnik zabezpieczający przed angażowaniem się w przestępczość rówieśniczą w okresie adolescencji i odgrywa istotną rolę w prawidłowej adaptacji społecznej. W związku z tym uzasadnione wydaje się prowadzenie na podstawie diagnozy i ewaluacji oddziaływań rozwijających kompetencje komunikacyjne nieletnich, tym bardziej, że większość z nich posiada w tym zakresie duże deficyty. Prezentowany artykuł zawiera wyniki badań ewaluacyjnych, które potwierdzają możliwość skutecznego rozwijania kompetencji komunikacyjnych wychowanków w warunkach resocjalizacji instytucjonalnej.
Communication competences are among key social skills, allowing people to fulfil their own needs in concordance with applicable norms. Research proves that their development constitutes an important factor preventing from engagement in peer crime in the adolescence period and plays a significant role in proper social adaptation. Therefore is seems justified tocarry out activities developing communication competences in minors, based on diagnosis and evaluation, also due to the fact that the majority of them have large deficits in that regard. The article contains the results of evaluation studies confirming the possibility of effective development of communication competences of pupils in institutional social rehabilitation environment.

Opis:

Cel badań. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie najistotniejszych różnic pomiędzy przedstawicielami różnych pokoleń w zakresie wartości i oczekiwań związanych z miejscem pracy. W ramach niniejszego opracowania zaprezentowane zostaną metody budowania wiedzy i kompetencji. Wskazane zostaną również najnowsze trendy oraz konkretne narzędzia, po jakie można sięgać w procesie kształcenia, by uczynić go maksymalnie wydajnym. Metoda. Na potrzeby artykułu dokonano przeglądu literatury przedmiotu oraz analizy wybranych narzędzi budowania kompetencji, z perspektywy ich funkcjonalności oraz adekwatności dla przedstawicieli różnych pokoleń. Wyniki. Przeprowadzone analizy wskazują, że poszczególne pokolenia różnią się pomiędzy sobą w zakresie wartości, oczekiwań i celów życiowych, sposobów komunikacji, czy metod pozyskiwania wiedzy o otaczającym świecie. Stąd też niezbędne jest wykorzystywanie w procesie edukacji narzędzi i metod dostosowanych do przedstawicieli różnych generacji. W ramach artykułu wskazane zostały przykładowe metody i narzędzia, które mogą stanowić realne wsparcie w procesie budowania kompetencji. Wnioski. Przed systemem edukacji, zarówno oświatowym, jak i tym związanym z rynkiem usług szkoleniowych, staje ogromne wyzwanie, polegające na konieczności sprostania różnicom pokoleniowym. O ile tradycyjne formy nauczania były efektywne jeszcze kilkanaście lat temu, tak teraz ich potencjalny odbiorca, żyjący w zgoła innym otoczeniu społecznym, uzna je nie tylko za mało atrakcyjne, ale również za mało skuteczne.
Aim. The article presents the most important differences between particular generations, their values and expectations related to the workplace. It also describes methods of increasing knowledge, and the latest trends and specific tools which can be used in the education process to make it as efficient as possible. Method. For this article, a review of the literature and analysis of selected tools for increasing competences was made from the perspective of their functionality and adequacy for different generations. Results. Different generations are diametrically different in a range of values, expectations and life goals, methods of communication or methods of acquiring knowledge about the surrounding world. Therefore, in the education process it is necessary to use tools and methods adapted to representatives of each generation. The article provides examples of methods and tools which can be a real support in the process of increasing competences. Conclusions. A huge challenge faces the education system, both in school and related to the training services market. While traditional forms of teaching were effective in the past, now their potential recipient, living in a completely different social environment, will find them not only unattractive, but also not very effective.

W artykule opisano wybrane procedury i narzędzia przeznaczone do gromadzenia i dzielenia się wiedzą, stosowane przez producenta oprogramowania multimedialnego, wskazując przy tym na zasadnicze przesłanki ich wprowadzania. Będąca obiektem badań firma – uznawana za lidera branży – zatrudnia wysokiej klasy specjalistów, m.in. programistów, architektów oprogramowania, projektantów produktów, których postrzega jako tzw. pracowników wiedzy. Na podstawie obserwacji bezpośredniej, przeglądu dokumentacji organizacyjnej oraz wywiadów z pracownikami wykonawczymi i ze specjalistami pionu zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi, dokonano analizy oraz oceny wprowadzonych rozwiązań z punktu widzenia ich dopasowania do okoliczności działania badanej organizacji oraz specyfiki procesów pracy.
The article describes certain procedures and tools for gathering and sharing knowledge, used by the manufacturer of multimedia software, indicating the essential reasons for their introduction. The company chosen as the object of research – recognized as a leader in the industry – employs highly qualified specialists, including programmers, software architects, product designers, who are perceived as so-called knowledge workers. Based on direct observation, review of organizational documentation and interviews with specialists in the division of human resources management, there has been an analysis and evaluation of solutions introduced from the point of view of their adaptation to the circumstances of the audited organization and of the specifics of their work processes.

Opis:

The findings obtained by G. Lind using his original research instrument – the Moral Competence Test – suggest that universities lack the capacity to foster students’ moral competence development. The MCT has been translated into 39 languages, all of which have gone through the necessary validation procedure. The article reports on the MCT validation study for the 40th language, namely Lithuanian. The research sample consisted of 526 students of English/German/French languages, future foreign language teachers, in the 1 st to 4th years of study at two universities in Lithuania: the former Vilnius Pedagogical University and the Vilnius University. The majority of the respondents demonstrated low or medium level of moral competence. On the basis of this cross-sectional study (2019–2020), the MCT for Lithuanian has been successfully validated and certified. In the following article, we present and discuss all the validation criteria and revisit the theoretical background of MCT. We also argue for educating students in moral competence and evaluating the effects of moral competence promotion in academic contexts.

In modern, globalized knowledge society, the role of the teacher, his task and challenges are changing. Therefore, one of the priority aims of the education is to support the harmonious development of pupils – by properly planned and implemented didactic process. The following considerations are the result of exploratory research. The research was an attempt to answer the question: To what extent do the teachers support the harmonious development of their students in the didactic process? The conclusions drawn from the analysis of the results have become the basis for appropriate recommendations.

The purpose: to make attempt to answer the questions connected with the analysis, understanding different interpretations of the conceptual apparatus on the problem of "functional competence" and radical change of professional consciousness of the teacher. Research methods. In the course of experimental work conducted at the Institute, the various methods of analysis, collection, systematization of material: observation, interview, discussion, questioning, testing were used. The paper discusses modern requirements to professional activity of the teacher and the ways of formation of its functional competence in the transition to a model of education focused on result. The degree of proficiency in the functional competence of teachers is directly related to the successful activities of the student, the development of key competencies. One of the key competencies is the state's demand for the quality of the high school graduate's personality in the form of educational outcomes. The main functional qualities of a person in solving a strategically important task for the country are initiative, the ability to think creatively and to identify non-standard solutions, the ability to determine the professional path, the willingness to learn throughout life. All available functional skills are formed in intercultural communication in the conditions of the school. Results: The appropriate methodological recommendations were developed, training manuals were issued; the experience of creatively working teachers was summed up, measures were taken to improve the content of the program of courses "Development of functional skill (reading, mathematical, natural-science) for students in the framework of an international PISA study".

Opis:

Building on previous holistic multicomponent paradigms of translation macrocompetence, a legal translation competence model is presented which avoids certain conceptual duplications in the light of professional practice, and incorporates distinctive legal thematic elements. Beyond component description, it is argued that the integral development of legal translation competence requires specific interdisciplinary methodologies for practical problem solving. The integrative approach proposed in this paper is process-oriented, and focuses on the legal translation-specific know-how within the key methodological or strategic subcompetence controlling all other subcompetences. Translation and legal knowledge are inextricably linked throughout the translation process, from the initial skopos analysis and legal macro-contextualization until the final revision stage. This approach, intended as a meta-reflection continuum between competence acquisition and reinforcement, and between formal training and professional practice, has proved effective for the systematization of problem-identification, problem-categorization and problem-solving patterns. Finally, some implications for legal translation training are outlined by way of conclusion.
Partiendo de anteriores paradigmas multicomponenciales holísticos de macrocompetencia traductora, se presenta un modelo de competencia en traducción jurídica que evita ciertas duplicaciones conceptuales en vista de la práctica profesional, e incorpora elementos de temática jurídica distintivos. Más allá de la descripción de componentes, se argumenta que el desarrollo integral de la competencia en traducción jurídica exige metodologías interdisciplinares específicas para la resolución de problemas prácticos. El enfoque integrador que se propone en el presente artículo está orientado al proceso y hace hincapié en los conocimientos especializados propios de la traducción jurídica incluidos en la subcompetencia metodológica o estratégica, subcompetencia clave que controla las demás. Los conocimientos traductológicos y jurídicos se entrelazan inextricablemente a lo largo del proceso traductor, desde el análisis del skopos y la macrocontextualización jurídica iniciales hasta la fase final de revisión. Este enfoque, concebido como un continuo metarreflexivo entre la adquisición y el fortalecimiento de competencias y entre la capacitación formal y la práctica profesional, ha resultado eficaz para sistematizar pautas de detección, categorización y resolución de problemas. Por último, a modo de conclusión, se esbozan algunas consideraciones sobre la formación en traducción jurídica.
Artykuł prezentuje model kompetencji tłumacza prawnego, zbudowany na wcześniejszych holistycznych i wieloskładnikowych paradygmatach makrokompetencji tłumaczeniowej. Obok opisu kompozycyjnego artykuł wskazują także na potrzebę w zintegrowanym rozwoju kompetencji tłumacza prawnego określonej metodologii interdyscyplinarnej służącej rozwiązywaniu problemów w praktyce. Podejście scalające proponowane w tekście skupia się na procesie i na tłumaczeniu prawnym i prawniczym. Wiedza i przekład prawny i prawniczy łączą i przeplatają się w procesie przekładu, począwszy od wstępnej analizy skoposu i makrokontekstualizacji prawnej aż do ostatniego etapu korekty.

Opis:

For efficient and independent functioning, a modern state should have proper human resources at its disposal - officials who can be entrusted with the professional performance of tasks. The tax administration is responsible for the collection of levies for the state treasury as well as for the ensuring of the state's financial security. It bears particular responsibility for creating conditions for development on the local, regional, and national level. It is for this reason that employees of the tax administration must perform their duties so as to facilitate nationwide tasks as defined in public law, which serve society and guarantee important state functions. Diagnosis of important elements of the personnel function involving the development of human resources in tax administration, the identification of dysfunction, and indications of possible solutions is the purpose of this article.

The article is an attempt at synthesis of different approaches to the teacher’s professional competence. The author surveys selected typologies, singling out criteria of the division of competence. Then she proposes a multidimentional presentation of the structure of competence in the form of “competence diagram”, and points out the possibilities of its practical use as a tool in planning and evaluating the teachers’ training and their individual development, as well as in pedeutological research.
Artykuł jest próbą dokonania syntezy różnych podejść do zawodowych kompetencji nauczycielskich. Autorka dokonuje przeglądu ich typologii, wyróżniając kryteria podziału kompetencji. Następnie przedstawia własną propozycję wielowymiarowego ujęcia struktury kompetencji w postaci „siatki kompetencji” oraz wskazuje możliwość praktycznego jej wykorzystania jako narzędzia w planowaniu i ewaluacji kształcenia nauczycieli, indywidualnym rozwoju zawodowym oraz badaniach pedeutologicznych.

W artykule zdefiniowano pojęcie „kompetencji”. Przedstawiono analizę czynników demotywujących pracowników produkcji w badanym dużym przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym. Określono luki kompetencyjne kadry kierowniczej i wskazano, na rozwój których kompetencji należy zwrócić uwagę, by odpowiedzieć na bieżące problemy badanej organizacji. Stworzono studium porównawcze i na bazie raportu Future Work Skills25 dokonano analizy tzw. kompetencji przyszłości w odniesieniu do zidentyfikowanych luk kompetencyjnych badanej organizacji. Zaprezentowano dane ilustrujące ten problem.
The concept of competence is defined in article. An analysis of the demotivating factors of production workers in large manufacturing company is presented. Competency gaps of executives were defined and set of the skills was pointed that they should pay attention in order to respond to the current problems of the studied organization. A comparative study and based on the report Future Work Skills25 was created. An analysis of the so-called the competencies of the future was performed in relation to the identified competency gaps in audited organization.

Opis:

Pre-school play is an important moment in a child’s development.  Caretakers play an important role during play. This article presents a structure of educational competence called “constructive empathizing” or “invitingaccompanying competence”. A caretaker’s special task during child’s play is conversion between the third-person knowledge and a subjective, autotelic interaction. The caretaker’s constructive empathizing during a child’s play determines the child’s social and moral development, it helps the child to turn play into work, as a sign of higher spontaneous understanding of cultural norms standing behind cultural correctness actions. Finally, it is evidence of dynamic interaction between abstract-concrete thinking, with the child learning from the caretaker.

Opis:

Considerations in the article highlight the relationship between lifelong learning and the development of competences of the individual. Institutional and personal resources affect the participation in further education through finance, structure of the offer, form and content of education, certification, as well as one's own idea of the condition of competences. Scientific analyses of individual experience in learning, modes of learning, resistance to learning, meanings, and resulting decisions concerning learning demonstrate the need to support the individual in the decision making process and in continuing education. Specific conditions for the development of competences in the health professions, on the example of care work and nursing, have been formulated at the intersection of different perspectives.
Rozważania w artykule naświetlają związek uczenia się przez całe życie z rozwojem kompetencji jednostki. Instytucjonalne i osobiste zasoby wpływają na uczestnictwo w edukacji dalszej poprzez finanse, strukturę oferty, formy i treści kształcenia, certyfikowanie i własne wyobrażania o stanie kompetencji. Naukowe analizy indywidualnych doświadczeń w uczeniu się, trybów uczenia się, oporu w uczeniu się, znaczeń i wynikających stąd decyzji dotyczących uczenia się dowodzą konieczności wspierania jednostki w procesie podejmowania decyzji i kontynuowania nauki. Na przecięciu różnych perspektyw zostały sformułowane konkretne uwarunkowania rozwoju kompetencji w zawodach służby zdrowia na przykładzie opieki i pielęgnacji.
Nachfolgende Ausführungen beleuchten den Zusammenhang der Anforderungen des Lebenslangen Lernens in Bezug auf Kompetenzentwick-lung respektive deren Erhalt sowie die Dispositionsfähigkeit des Individuums als bedeutende Größe. Institutionelle und personelle Ressourcen beeinflussen die Weiterbildungspartizipation im beruflichen Kontext mittels Finanzierung, Ange-botsformen und -Inhalte, Angebotsstrukturen, Zertifizierung und auch berufsspezifischer Kompetenzvorstellungen. Die bildungswissenschaftlichen Betrachtungen der individuellen Lernerfahrungen, Lernmodi, ggf. Lernwiderstän-de, Deutungen und daraus resultierenden Bildungsentscheidungen zeigen Transfer- und Unterstützungsnotwendigkeiten auf. In der Zusammenführung der Perspek-tiven werden nachfolgend konkrete Voraussetzungen der Ermöglichung von Kom-petenzentwicklung in den Gesundheitsfachberufen am Beispiel der Pflege formu-liert.

This paper serves as a contribution to the debate on the author’s studies concerning the correlation between the development of linguistic competence and the conditions for the psychosocial development of children and youth in multilingual families. The following deliberations present the point of view of a neurological speech therapist and concerns language difficulties, which are prevalent in multilingual people. This paper was based on the author’s own studies and patient observations. The objective was to show that the linguistic and psychosocial development of people in bi- and multilingual families is different and carries additional risks. The following considerations lead to the final conclusion that being a citizen of the world and immersion in many cultures can be a beautiful adventure for a young person; in which they should be supported by family, teacher and multilingual speech therapist.

There is a prevailing conviction that Poles cannot sing. The custom of singing has died out in families, and it is even waning in music lessons in school. There is a general perception that singing skills are conditioned by the possession of special musical abilities and that not everyone can master them. This article presents the results of my diagnostic research carried out at the end of the 1980s and reprised by other scholars in recent years. Because the same research method and procedures were used in all this research, it is possible to compare the results and observe any changes in the level of singing skills over the space of around twenty years. The research signals an alarming situation in respect to such an important musical competence as singing. After the twenty years that have passed since the first research, we observe a decline in the ability to sing among children and youngsters.

Higher education institutions in the United States have historically been tasked with the responsibility of scaffolding the moral development of students. Although empirical evidence suggests that attending colleges and universities can foster students’ moral development and reasoning, the effect of online higher education remains mainly unknown. The current study has examined the effect of two online psychology courses, Developmental Psychology and Research Methods Lab, and their respective assignments on students’ moral competence. The findings revealed that students’ moral competence in both courses was improved; this improvement was partly attributed to online group discussions in the Developmental psychology course. No other assignments were found to be significant contributors of students’ moral competence. Limitations and implications of the findings were discussed.

The framework of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPCK) has been developed as a valuable tool for understanding the ways for effective technology use in the teaching process. Due to continuous innovations in education technologies, educators experience some difficulties how to implement the appropriate technology and correlate it with learning goals, students’ needs, content of the subjects and pedagogical strategy. It caused the separation of the educational technology and situational educational process. TPCK framework can bridge the gap and promotes how to combine classical pedagogical strategies and contemporary technologies. This study focuses on the description and analysis of practical TPCK framework implementation at English Language classes for bachelors at technical university. The paper suggest examples of redesigned learning activities according to TPCK framework concepts in order to enhance students’ language skills. The results of the practical implementation observations and students’ as well as teachers’ reflective blogs demonstrated the benefits and challenges of the approach. Students’ feedback evidenced the meaningful impact on their academic achievements and improvement of language competence. Moreover, the described tool can be used as an indicator to assess teachers’ knowledge of content, pedagogy and level of digital competence in terms of the professional development.

Cel: Celem artykułu jest pokazanie rodziny jako środowiska istotnego dla rozwoju kompetencji narracyjnej dzieci. Kompetencja narracyjna definiowana jest jako umiejętność właściwego rozumienia, odtwarzania i tworzenia opowieści, z uwzględnieniem ich językowej złożoności oraz relacyjnego charakteru. Metody: Na podstawie literatury przedmiotu opisane zostały prawidłowości dotyczące stymulującego charakteru narracyjnych wymian rodzinnych dla prawidłowego rozwoju dzieci, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wymian między rodzeństwem. Materiałem ilustrującym przebieg treningu narracyjnego w rodzeństwie są zebrane w warunkach naturalnych, w ciągu trwającej cztery miesiące obserwacji, narracje dwóch braci (cztero- i ośmiolatka). Rezultaty: Pierwsze zebrane narracje badanych dzieci różnią się w obszarze zawartości treściowej – z preferencją wobec odtwarzania negatywnych, obiektywnych zdarzeń przez młodszego i konfliktów wewnętrznych, zwieńczonych pozytywnym zinternalizowanym rozwiązaniem, przez starszego z narratorów. W toku wzajemnych wymian narracyjnych modelowaniu ulega zarówno treść, jak i struktura narracji. Wymiany narracyjne między rodzeństwem stymulują ich uczestników do refleksji, elastyczności, negocjacji, wytrwałości i konsekwencji oraz umiejętności radzenia sobie z dystraktorami. Wnioski: Wnioski płynące zarówno z analizy literatury, jak i wstępnych badań empirycznych skłaniają do zwrócenia większej uwagi na znaczenie „wystarczająco dobrego” rodzeństwa jako istotnego elementu systemu rodzinnego wpływającego na rozwój narracyjny człowieka.
Aim: The aim of the paper is to show the family as an important environment for developing the narrative competence of children. Narrative competence is defined as the ability to properly understand, reproduce and create stories, taking into account their linguistic complexity and relational character. Methods: Based on the literature the regularities regarding the stimulating nature of family (including siblings) exchanges for the proper development of children were described. As a material illustrating the course of family narrative training narrations of two brothers (four and eight years old) collected during four months of observation in natural environment were used. Results: Narratives collected from children at the beginning of the survey were different in the content – with preferences for describing negative, objective events by the younger and internal conflicts with positive internalized resolutions by the older narrator. In the course of mutual narrative exchanges both the content and structure of the narrative were changed through the process of modeling. The narrative exchanges between siblings stimulates their participants to reflect, be flexible, persistent and consistent, to negotiate and cope with distractions. Conclusions: Conclusions from both literature analysis and preliminary empirical research suggest that we should pay more attention to the figure of a “good enough” sibling as an important part of the family system influencing human narrative development.

This study investigates the use of pragmatic markers (PMs) by learners of English at varying proficiency levels. The study analyzes data from a university-level oral proficiency exam that categorized Chinese and Korean English-as-a-second-language (ESL) speakers into four proficiency levels and compares data with those of native speakers taking the same test. Findings indicate that PM use generally rises with proficiency level. The rates of PM use showed a dramatic increase between the highest and second-highest proficiency group. The highest proficiency ESL group used PMs at the same rate as native speakers. The study also found that the variety of different PMs used goes up steadily with proficiency level. These results are discussed in terms of their implications for understanding how second language learners’ use of PMs develops.

Opis:

Nabywanie kompetencji językowych jest procesem złożonym i długotrwałym. Pierwsze doświadczenia językowe dziecko zdobywa w rodzinie. Na rozwój mowy ma wpływ sposób porozumiewania się rodziców, język rodzeństwa, dziadków, opiekunów. Dziecko w tym okresie jest odbiorcą komunikatów do niego kierowanych oraz mimowolnym słuchaczem wypowiedzi kierowanych do innych członków rodziny. Duży wpływ na rozwój języka w tym okresie ma telewizja i literatura dziecięca. Drugi etap nabywania kompetencji językowych przypada na okres przedszkolny. Dziecko jako członek grupy społecznej poznaje reguły rządzące językiem ojczystym. Kompetencje językowe rozwija podczas zabawy z rówieśnikami, podczas zajęć porannych, kontaktu z  literaturą. Ogromny wpływ na rozwój mowy ma język nauczyciela. Duże utrudnienia w komunikacji powodują zaburzenia w rozwoju mowy. Częste i rzadko występujące wady wymowy diagnozuje i pomaga pokonać logopeda.
Acquiring language competence is a complex and long process. First language experience is acquired by the child at childhood. Development of speech is influenced by the way the parents, siblings or grandparents communicate. Also important in the child’s speech devolpment are television, literature, being a part of social group, playing with its peers, etc. Big difficulty in communication is caused by speech disorder, in which case a speech therapist is needed to treat it.

This article deals with creative competence as an integral component of competences for sustainable development. Previous research in this area became the subject of interest of Polish researchers who carried out a research project in southern Poland. The aim of the research was to explore and describe the level of creative competence among Polish adolescents. The survey method was used to achieve the assumed goals and answer the emerging research questions. The tool was a questionnaire developed for the purposes of the survey with 60 sentences determining the level of six key competences for sustainable development, including creative competence. The study involved 877 grade 7 and 8 primary school pupils and grade 1 to 4 secondary school pupils, i.e. those meeting the criterion of adolescence, in accordance with the adopted convenient selection of the research sample. The lowest creativity rates were achieved by females studying in schools in small towns, while the highest by males studying in schools in small towns. Pupils from rural areas showed a higher level of creativity than those from urban areas, just as males scored higher than females. It was recognised that the teaching process should abandon gender-based perception of pupils in traditional socio-cultural roles. In addition, the use of teaching strategies conducive to the development of creativity in pupils should be reinforced. For this purpose, the teacher training system should be modified so that it includes the development of creative potential.
Niniejszy artykuł dotyczy kompetencji kreatywnej jako integralnego komponentu kompetencji dla zrównoważonego rozwoju. Dotychczasowe badania w tym zakresie stały się przedmiotem zainteresowań polskich badaczy, którzy zrealizowali projekt badawczy w Polsce południowej. Celem badań była eksploracja i opis poziomu kompetencji kreatywności wśród polskiej młodzieży w okresie dorastania. Aby osiągnąć założone cele i odpowiedzieć na wyłaniające się z nich pytania badawcze, zastosowano metodę sondażu realizowaną w technice ankiety. Narzędziem był opracowany na potrzeby badania kwestionariusz ankiety z 60 zdaniami określającymi poziom sześciu kompetencji kluczowych dla zrównoważonego rozwoju, w tym kompetencji kreatywności. W badaniu wzięło udział 877 uczniów klas VII i VIII szkoły podstawowej oraz klas I–IV szkół średnich, spełniających kryterium wieku adolescencji zgodnie z dogodnym doborem próby badawczej. Najniższe wskaźniki kreatywności osiągnęły dziewczyny uczące się w szkołach w małych miastach, a najwyższe – chłopacy uczący się w szkołach w małych miastach. Uczniowie ze wsi wykazali wyższy poziom kreatywności niż uczniowie z miasta, wyższy poziom osiągnęli chłopacy niż dziewczyny. Uznano, że w procesie nauczania należy odejść od płciowego postrzegania uczniów w tradycyjnych rolach uwarunkowanych społeczno-kulturowo. Ponadto należy wzmocnić stosowanie strategii nauczania sprzyjających rozwojowi twórczości i kreatywności uczniów. W tym celu należy zmodyfikować system kształcenia nauczycieli (w tym zadbać o rozwój ich twórczego potencjału).

The article deals with the actual issues of forming professionally-oriented foreign language competence concerning the future engineers’ training. The article testifies the necessity of rendering future engineers with professionally-oriented foreign language training based on new engineering and technological approaches. The challenges of interdisciplinary studies of any area of economy cause enhanced intensive international collaboration and intercultural cooperation. Considering the experimental results, it has been confirmed that professional foreign language competence is effectively developed within “Intensive integrative course of foreign language”, content and structure of which are based on an integrative approach and a set of suggested organisational principles. The article summarises the results of the direct observation and interviews.

The empirical research reported in this article is based on the Moral Foundations Theory proposed by J. Haidt. Objectives. The author examines the impact of moral foundations arguments on early adolescents’ moral judgments regarding violating moral rules and explores gender-related differences between moral foundations preferences. Method. The effect of moral foundations arguments was measured by a newly developed meta-ethical position test (MEPT). The MEPT consists of a pretest questionnaire, treatment by moral foundations arguments, and a posttest questionnaire. The sample contained 178 early adolescents from the Czech Republic (84 females and 94 males). The influence of the moral foundations arguments was analyzed by comparing the pretest with the posttest. Results. 91% of teenagers changed their moral judgment due to confrontations with the moral foundations arguments. A Wilcoxon signed-rank test found that the moral foundations arguments were significantly relevant, since the P-value was lower than 0.001. The Mann-Whitney U test revealed the importance of the gender aspect: P-value care equals 0.01 and liberty 0.01. Girls have a preference for care foundation (21% more than boys), while boys tended to liberty (27 % more than girls). It seems that moral foundations arguments strongly change early adolescents’ moral judgments and can be practically applied as a valuable platform for early adolescents’ moral development.

Opis:

The essential feature which decides upon human effectiveness and competitiveness in the outer world, is competence. So, competence is an attribute of an adequately or well qualified human being who, due to this feature, can be easily distinguished from other individuals. Moreover, the possession of knowledge and an array of qualifications is beneficial not only to the distinguished individual but to the environment in which he actively functions, playing various social roles. Nevertheless, competence is not a gift given to us at birth. Instead, we are born as “tabula rasa” and with time, while developing physically, we also develop intellectually. Therefore, human development is an element of human life where people are involved in a life-long transformational process characteristic of interaction and socialization, which in consequence brings people to their competence and competitiveness. Hence, the present article is devoted to a brief discussion over selected stages of human life and activity which foster personality through transformational development.
Zasadniczą cechą, która decyduje o ludzkiej efektywności i konkurencyjności w otaczającym nas świecie, jest wiedza. Zatem, wiedza jest atrybutem stosownie wykształconego człowieka, którego można dzięki tej cesze z łatwością wyróżnić z jego otoczenia. Ponadto, stopień kompetencji i kwalifikacji stanowi korzyść nie tylko dla samego posiadacza wiedzy ale też dla środowiska, w którym on czynnie funkcjonuje, pełniąc różnorodne role społeczne. Niemniej jednak, wiedza nie jest darem danym nam w dniu narodzin. Przeciwnie, rodzimy się jako “tabula rasa” i z czasem, wraz z rozwojem fizycznym, rozwijamy się intelektualnie. Zatem, rozwój człowieka jest elementem ludzkiego życia, w trakcie którego ludzie poddani są procesowi transformacji, charakteryzującego się interakcją i socjalizacją, co w rezultacie wzmacnia ich wiedzę i konkurencyjność. Z tej racji, niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest zwięzłemu omówieniu wybranych stadiów ludzkiego życia i działalności, które wpływają na kształtowanie osobowości w procesie rozwoju transformacyjnego.

Artykuł określa podstawowe koncepcje rozwoju mowy dziecka. Analiza poszczególnych jego etapów połączona jest z przedstawieniem sposobów stymulowania poprzez działania rodziców, opiekunów, a następnie nauczycieli edukacji przedszkolnej i wczesnoszkolnej. Opanowanie przez dziecko elementów języka stanowi o jego kompetencjach komunikacyjnych, a tym samym o skuteczności porozumiewania się w sposób adekwatny do zastałych warunków czy określonej sytuacji. Nieodłącznym elementem nabywania kompetencji językowych przez dziecko jest więc nie tylko bierne słuchanie i powtarzanie zasłyszanych słów czy zwrotów, ale także umiejętne włączanie dziecka w tworzenie własnego języka, budowanie słownika poprzez poprawianie i wzmacnianie wypowiedzi. W artykule zwrócono również uwagę na konieczność stymulowania potrzeby mówienia dziecka, zwłaszcza w początkowej fazie kształcenia. Sposób i jakość przekazu informacji, kontaktu werbalnego z dzieckiem już od okresu prenatalnego ma dla jego rozwoju istotne znaczenie i może dać wymierne efekty w późniejszym czasie. Istotą artykułu jest przekazanie najważniejszych informacji związanych z kształtowaniem mowy u dzieci. Publikacja stanowi formę pomocy naukowej dla studentów pedagogiki oraz nauczycieli z zakresu edukacji przedszkolnej i wczesnoszkolnej. Zawarte w niej treści służą także edukowaniu przyszłych rodziców, których wiedza dotycząca tak zaawansowanego i złożonego procesu, jakim jest rozwój mowy, powinna odgrywać znaczącą rolę w procesie wychowania i kształcenia nowego pokolenia.
The article defines the basic concepts of child speech development. The analysis of its various stages is combined with ways of stimulation through the actions of parents, caregivers and then teachers of preschool and early school education. The child’s mastery of the elements of language determines his communicative competence and, therefore, the effectiveness of communication in a manner appropriate to the existing conditions or a specific situation. Thus, an inseparable element of the child’s acquisition of language competence is not passive listening and repetition of heard words or phrases, but also skillful inclusion of the child in the creation of his own language, building a vocabulary by correcting and reinforcing statements. The article also points out the need to stimulate the child’s need to speak, especially in the early stages of education. The way and quality of information transmission, verbal contact with the child from the prenatal period is of vital importance for his development, which can give tangible results later and greatly facilitate the acquisition of communication skills and language competence.

Wyniki dotychczasowych badań, głównie anglojęzycznych, w zakresie wpływu nietypowego środowiska lingwistycznego na rozwój mowy i języka słyszących dzieci niesłyszących rodziców nie są jednoznaczne. Na łamach niniejszej publikacji opisano jeden z kilkunastu przypadków, stanowiących materiał empiryczny szerszych badań, których celem jest między innymi rozpoznanie i opisanie kompetencji komunikacyjnych i językowych (głównie w zakresie języka fonicznego) słyszących dzieci niesłyszących rodziców.
The article is/constitutes a description of selected aspects of the eight-year-old hearing boy’s development of linguistic knowledge on the background of the process of his language development among the deaf parents who communicate using sign language. The results of previous studies, mostly of English-language, in terms of the impact of an unusual language environment on speech and language development of the hearing children of deaf parents are not unambiguous. This publication describes one of several cases comprising the empirical material of broader research of which the purpose is, among others, the identification and description of communicative and language competences (mainly in terms of the phonological language) of the hearing children of deaf parents.

Critical thinking is described as a competence for the future, a key competence in a global information society, enabling efficient and proactive action in a changing reality in which individuals must cope with information chaos. In addition, the competence of critical thinking is exceptionally important in the context of self-development, and especially – the development of teachers, because this professional group has to cope in its work with unpredictability, ambiguity, the need to constantly verify information, update existing competencies and acquire new ones. Critical thinking also makes it possible to discover weaknesses/deficiencies in one’s own thinking, shortcomings in one’s skills, and make judgments based on evidence/arguments. The article addresses the issue of critical thinking in the context of teacher development. Attention was paid to the understanding of the concept of “critical thinking” as a key competence in the modern world, and it was pointed out how critical thinking supports the process of self-development, especially among teachers.
Myślenie krytyczne jest określane jako kompetencja dla przyszłości, kluczowa w społeczeństwie globalnej informacji, umożliwiająca sprawne i aktywne działanie w zmieniającej się rzeczywistości, w której jednostki muszą sobie radzić z chaosem informacyjnym. Ponadto, kompetencja myślenia krytycznego wyjątkowo ważna jest w kontekście samorozwoju, a szczególnie – rozwoju nauczycieli, bowiem ta grupa zawodowa musi w swojej pracy radzić sobie z nieprzewidywalnością, niejednoznacznością koniecznością nieustannego wersyfikowania informacji, aktualizowania posiadanych kompetencji i nabywania nowych. Myślenie krytyczne pozwala także odkryć słabości/niedostatki własnego myślenia, braki w zakresie posiadanych umiejętności oraz wydawać oparte na dowodach/ argumentach sądy. W artykule podjęto problematykę myślenia krytycznego w kontekście rozwoju nauczyciela. Zwrócono uwagę na rozumienie pojęcia „myślenie krytyczne” jako kompetencji kluczowej we współczesnym świecie oraz wskazano, jak myślenie krytyczne wspiera proces samorozwoju, szczególnie wśród nauczycieli.
