Copying a product may constitute an act of unfair competition. This article describes the measures of legal protection of criminal law nature attributable to the injured entrepreneur. This paper describes the legal and material basis for claiming compensation, as well as procedural ones, including practical aspects which must be taken into consideration by the injured entrepreneur deciding to initiate criminal proceedings.

The “thaw” which was brought up by the year 1955 evidenced a fact, concealed from the late 1940s, that unemployment could exist also in socialist countries. From the mid-1955 the problem was no longer a taboo subject, and in 1956–1957 it even became a topic of open discussions. And although unemployment of the second half of the fifties was often compared to that before the war, some distinct differences were evident. First of all, there was no a uniform system of support for the unemployed which would provide, for example legal, systematic unemployment compensations. There were also some striking regional differences, for instance Upper Silesia (Górny Śląsk) was facing an acute shortage of labour force, while numerous regions of Central and Eastern Poland, especially small towns and rural areas, had unemployment of structural character (the purpose of the so-called “intervention found” of 1956–1958 was, among others, to create new jobs in backward regions). Contrary to that before the war, unemployment of the 1950s did not affect mainly men and (qualified) workers, but women in the first place and employees with low qualifications. The shared features were the lack of jobs for intellectuals and for young people who were just entering the labour market. A characteristic trait of the “thaw” unemployment was also the necessity to employ many repatriates from the USSR, redundant civil workers of the state administration, functionaries of the security services, the party apparatus and (non-)commissioned officers of the Polish Army. An endemic phenomenon in the scale of the whole post-war period was a temporary return to the idea of legal labour emigration.
Artykuł omawia kwestie bezrobocia, będącego w latach 1956–1957 istotnym i szeroko komentowanym problemem. Tekst skupia się na specyfice i uwarunkowaniach polskiego bezrobocia okresu odwilży (szczególnie w porównaniu z podobnym zjawiskiem w II RP), antagonizmach wpływających na obraz rynku pracy lat 1956–1957 (np. zatrudnianie kobiet, chłoporobotnicy), rozkładzie geograficznym, zwłaszcza sytuacji na peryferiach (głównie w miasteczkach) i próbie jej poprawy przez władze (tzw. fundusz interwencyjny), „bezrobotnych specjalnej troski”, czyli redukowanych urzędnikach administracji państwowej, funkcjonariuszach bezpieczeństwa, aparatu partyjnego i (pod)oficerach Wojska Polskiego. Omówiona została też kwestia legalnej emigracji zarobkowej.

Opis:
In this paper a cross-shaped isolator consisting of cuboidal magnets and a cylindrical isolator are compared by resonance frequency to volume ratio and shape. Both isolators are capable of obtaining a low resonance frequency, i.e. 0.15 Hz and 0.01 Hz for the cross and cylinder, respectively. The volume of both isolators is comparable, only the shape is different, resulting in a tall structure with a small footprint for the cross and a flat with a large diameter cylindrical structure. A sensitivity analysis shows that due to the large amount of magnets, the cross-shaped isolator is less sensitive to manufacturing tolerances.

Opis:
A practical method with high accuracy in generation and application of error values for calibration of current transformer test sets is described. A PC-controlled three-phase power source with a standard wattmeter is used for generating the nominal and error test currents while an electronically compensated current comparator is used to provide summation and subtraction of them, precisely. With this method, any ratio error and phase displacement values could be generated automatically and nominal and test currents could be grounded on the test set safely. Because of its high accurate ratio and phase error generating capability, any type of test set regardless of its operating principles could be calibrated.

The purpose of the paper is to develop a new current compensation in the tap-changer controllers of HV/MV transformer. Problems in applying classical current compensation are presented. A mathematical model of current compensation has been created, taking into account the phase measurements offered by grid parameter meters. A new method of current compensation has been proposed for the controller of semiconductor tap-changers of HV/MV transformers.
Celem artykułu jest opracowanie nowej kompensacji prądowej w regulatorach przełączników zaczepów transformatora WN/SN. Zaprezentowano problemy w stosowaniu klasycznej kompensacji prądowej. Utworzono model matematyczny kompensacji prądowej z uwzględnieniem pomiarów fazowych oferowanych przez mierniki parametrów sieci. Zaproponowano nową metodę kompensacji prądowej dla regulatora półprzewodnikowych przełączników zaczepów transformatora WN/SN.

An important issue that requires in-depth consideration in the context of the issue of enforcement of judgments on the obligation imposed on the perpetrator to compensate for the damage inflicted or to make reparation for the harm suffered by the aggrieved party is the issue of the possibility to modify them (change the manner, scope or even revoke them) in enforcement proceedings. This raises the question: Is the executing authority entitled to make any changes (and if so, what changes) to the part of the judgment that concerns the obligation to compensate for the damage or harm suffered? Whether or not on the grounds of criminal law it is permissible to apply the institutions regulated in Article 453 of the CC, that is, datio in solutum (the essence of which consists in the fact that an obligation expires if the debtor, with the creditor’s consent, performs another service in order to be released from it), as well as in Article 509 of the Civil Code, the so-called assignment of claims (under which the creditor may, without the debtor’s consent, transfer a claim to a third party, unless this would be contrary to the law, a contractual stipulation or the nature of the obligation) and in Article 365 of the CC, that is, alternate obligations, or even in Article 506 of the Civil Code, that is, renewal (novation)? Whether and which amendments, if any, may be made by the court on the basis of Article 13(1) of the EPC? How much influence does the will of the aggrieved party or the will of the offender have on the manner in which such an obligation is to be performed and any modification thereof? The issues outlined are, among others, the subject of a broader analysis within this publication.

This article proposes and examines a solution in which the base-station for the fifth generation radio access network is simplified by using a single millimeter-wave oscillator in the central-station and distributing its millimeter-wave signal to the base-stations. The system is designed in such a way that the low-phase-noise signal generated by an opto-electronic oscillator is transmitted from the central-station to multiple base-stations via a passive optical network infrastructure. A novel flexible approach with a single-loop opto-electronic oscillator at the transmitting end and a tunable dispersion-compensation module at the receiving end(s) is proposed to distribute a power-penalty-free millimeter-wave signal in the radio access network. Power-penalty-free signal transmission from 10 MHz up to 45 GHz with an optical length of 20 km is achieved by a combination of a tunable dispersion-compensation module and an optical delay line. In addition, measurements with a fixed modulation frequency of 39 GHz and discretely incrementing optical fiber lengths from 0.625 km to 20 km are shown. Finally, a preliminary idea for an automatically controlled feedback-loop tuning system is proposed as a further research entry point.

Opis:
The commonly applied electrical networks with an insulated neutral point in ships are not able to protect against electric shock, due to the presence of capacitance between phase wires and the hull, which increases the values of shock current. A new approach to solve this problem is presented. The new idea is based on active compensation of shock current using current sources inserted between the phase wires and the metallic hull. A four-leg transistor inverter controlled by a signal processor (DSP) and a logic programmable array (FPGA) was used as a set of current sources. The arrangement of the test stand obtained for the experimental checking of the concept compensation of shock current is presented together with the experimental results.
Powszechnie stosowane w okrętownictwie sieci elektryczne z izolowanym punktem zerowym z powodu występowania pojemności doziemnych (powodujących wzrost prądu rażenia) nie zapewniają ochrony przeciwporażeniowej. Autor prezentuje nowe podejście do rozwiązania tego problemu. Nowa idea aktywnej kompensacji prądu rażenia człowieka polega na włączaniu pomiędzy przewody fazowe a kadłub statku aktywnych źródeł prądu. W proponowanym rozwiązaniu jako źródła prądowe został wykorzystany falownik w układzie czteroprzewodowym. W referacie przedstawiono układ stanowiska badawczego, przeznaczonego do eksperymentalnego sprawdzenia koncepcji aktywnej kompensacji prądu rażenia w sieciach okrętowych niskiego napięcia, oraz wyniki badań.

In this paper, new non-quadratic stability conditions are derived based on the parallel distributed compensation scheme to stabilize Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems. We use a non-quadratic Lyapunov function as a fuzzy mixture of multiple quadratic Lyapunov functions. The quadratic Lyapunov functions share the same membership functions with the T-S fuzzy model. The stability conditions we propose are less conservative and stabilize also fuzzy systems which do not admit a quadratic stabilization. The proposed approach is based on two assumptions. The first one relates to a proportional relation between multiple Lyapunov functions and the second one considers an upper bound to the time derivative of the premise membership functions. To illustrate the advantages of our proposal, four examples are given.

Most receiving antenna arrays suffer from the mutual coupling problem between antenna elements, which can critically influence the performance of the array. In this work, a novel and accurate form of compensation matrix is applied to compensate the mutual coupling in a uniform linear array (ULA). This is achieved by applying a new method based on solving a boundary value problem for the whole ULA. In this method, both self and mutual impedances are exploited in an accurate characterization of mutual impedance matrix which results in a perfect mutual coupling compensation method, and hence a very accurate direction of arrival (DOA) estimation. In the new scheme, the compensation matrix is obtained by using the relationship between measured voltage and theoretical coupled voltage based on the MOM. Numerical results show that using DOA estimation algorithms to the decoupled voltage obtained by using this method leads to an excellent performance of DOA estimation with higher accuracy and resolution.

In this paper, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a new method for optical frequency transfer over fibre. Instead of dual acousto-optic modulators (AOMs) as adopted in the traditional fibre phase noise compensation setup, here an active fibre phase noise compensation scheme with a single acousto-optic modulator (AOM) is used. The configuration simplifies the equipment of the user end while maintaining a high-performance optical frequency transfer stability. We demonstrate an actively stabilized coherent transfer at an optical frequency of 193.55THz over 10-km spooled fibre, obtaining a relative frequency stability (Allan deviation) of 3.84 x 10-16/1 s and 4.08 x 10-18/104 s, which is improved by about 2~3 orders of magnitude in comparison with the one without any phase noise compensation that achieves a relative frequency stability of 1.81 x 10-14/1 s and 2.48 x 10-15/104 s.

Linear accelerators such as Free Electron Lasers (FELs) use superconducting (SC) resonant cavities to accelerate electron beam to high energies. TESLA type resonators are extremely sensitive to detuning induced by mechanical deformations - Lorentz force detuning (LFD), mainly due to the extremely high quality factor (Q) of the 1.3 GHz resonance mode, in the range of 10 6. The resulting modulation of a resonance frequency of the cavity makes power consumption and stability performances of the Low-Latency Radio Frequency (LLRF) control more critical. In order to minimize the RF control efforts and desired stabilities, the fast piezoelectric actuators with digital control systems are commonly used. The paper presents a novel approach for automatic control of piezoelectric actuators used for compensation of Lorentz force detuning, the practical application and carried out tests in accelerating module ACC6 in Free-Electron Laser in Hamburg (FLASH).

In the paper we are concerned with a structured approach to the process of design of an executive compensation system in a company which is one of most relevant issues in corporate economics that can have a huge impact on a company, with respect to finances, competitiveness, etc. More specifically, we present a novel application of Atanassov’s concept of a Generalized Net (GN) which is a powerful tool for the representation and handling of dynamic discrete event problems and systems. First, to present the problem specifics, a broader Total Reward system is discussed together with the importance of proper structuring of the compensation system for executives to support company’s goals, allowing attracting, motivating and retaining managers. The proposed compensation design model starts from incorporating a broad spectrum of benchmarks, expectations and constraints to those already incorporated in the early phase of the design of the executive compensation. In the design and testing phase a significant emphasis is placed on the flexibility and adjustability of the executive compensation package to external factors by testing, dynamically adjusting and stress testing the proposed compensation package already in the design phase. Then, we apply some elements of the theory of Generalized Nets (GNs) to construct the model of executive compensation design using the proposed approach.

In direct-detection OFDM systems, the nonlinear effects caused by optical modulation and fiber transmission can degrade the system performance severely. In this study, we propose a new nonlinear companding transform to improve the performance of direct detection optical OFDM transmission systems. The demonstration is realized by Monte-Carlo simulation of the intensity modulation and direct detection DCO-OFDM optical transmission system at 40 Gbps over a 80 km of standard single mode fiber link. The influence of the companding parameters on the performance of system in different nonlinear transmission conditions has been investigated via simulation.

This paper presents a low-cost and smart measurement system to acquire and analyze mechanical motion parameters. The measurement system integrates several measuring nodes that include one or more triaxial accelerometers, a temperature sensor, a data acquisition unit and a wireless communication unit. Particular attention was dedicated to measurement system accuracy and compensation of measurement errors caused by power supply voltage variations, by temperature variations and by accelerometers’ misalignments. Mathematical relationships for error compensation were derived and software routines for measurement system configuration, data acquisition, data processing, and self-testing purposes were developed. The paper includes several simulation and experimental results obtained from an assembled prototype based on a crank-piston mechanism.
