En cuanto cuadro dinámico, la figura literaria de la hipotiposis parece concertarse con la propia definición del cómic, sucesión de imágenes generadora de movimiento. Sin embargo, si la hipotiposis es siempre simultáneamente descriptiva y narrativa, no ocurre lo mismo con el cómic, conjunto de descripciones que, por su sucesión, generan narración. De hecho, lo que mejor corresponde a la figura literaria es más bien un dispositivo particular del noveno arte: la incrustación, es decir la inscripción de una o varias viñetas dentro de otra. Automáticamente, la viñeta-marco se convierte en el trasfondo, el decorado de un relato desarrollado en primer plano por las viñetas incrustadas. Este procedimiento de incrustación no es clásico. Lo encontramos en los pioneros, o ente modernos y contemporáneos, que se sirven de él, a ejemplo de la hipotiposis, con fines épicos, o para dar mayor vida a una reconstrucción histórica, o bien para confrontar memoria colectiva y memoria individual, o bien incluso para que proliferen en un mismo tiempo varios espacios y en un mismo espacio tiempos diversos.
As a dynamic picture, the literary figure of hypotyposis seems consistent with the very definition of comics, series of drawings producing motion. However, if hypotyposis is always simultaneously descriptive and narrative, comics are on the contrary sets of descriptions which sequencing produces narration. In fact, a particular device of the ninth art matches more with the literary figure: the insert, that is the inlay of one or more panels within another. Automatically, the inserting panel becomes the background, the setting of a story developed in the foreground by the inserted panels. This device is not classical. It is to be found among the pioneers or the modern and contemporary authors, who use it, like hypotyposis, for epic purposes, or to give more life to a historical re-enactment, to confront collective with individual memory, or also to make several spaces flourish in the same time and several times flourish in the same place.

Opis:
The tendency in researching language stylistics is that researchers rather start from a certain style and assign language properties to it, including syntactic ones. In the presented article, which is based on the model of functional syntax (Kiklewicz 1999; 2004), the author suggests an opposite research perspective, that is analysis of stylistic properties of specific kinds of syntactic structures. Being completion of the former description rule this research suggestion contributes to a comprehensive presentation of language competence where stylistic markedness of language units constitutes an important aspect. For this reason and due to isolation of categorical content of the function, scope of its meaning and reference the suggestion depicted is so helpful in comparing languages.

Opis:
Linguistic and stylistic properties of various literatures can only be assessed when evaluated on the basis of the specific way of thinking, of the philosophy of life in general and of the religion in particular, as related to their specific concerns and answers. While dealing with the Hebrew Bible it becomes evident, that the most characteristic unifying force is the following fundamental antithesis: the verticality and radicality of God, evident in his promises, his deeds, and by the attitude of those who follow him versus the horizontality of idols and of human disobedience and its consequences. In spite of thematic and formal variety, the same vertical-horizontal dimension is conspicuous everywhere. The fundamentally inadequate relationship between transcendental realities and our available expressive categories is the main reason for using poetic and narrative means of expression. Literary forms of antithesis are used to express theological-moral motivations by conjoining terms, sentences and larger units and by disjoining sense regarding the nature, quality, or action of persons or things. The concept of antithesis appears to have multiple meanings, and it is therefore necessary to state at the outset that in this paper on the concept of antithesis is treated primarily in the rhetorical-stylistic sense. As regards the Hebrew Bible, the theological principles are always of prime significance. Most antitheses in the Hebrew Bible are constructed in the form of antithetic parallelism; nevertheless most antithetic units are original in terms of theme as well as the form.

The main aim of this contribution is to propose a general scheme that provides the possibility of comparing theoretical approaches to style, including approaches rooted in various cultural contexts. This kind of general scheme from the area of comparative stylistics offers the possibility to compare works on style written in various periods and various areas. The proposed scheme describing theoretical concepts of style, moving from linguistic to extralinguistic factors, is a sequence of five simple what-questions (in English, for the sake of the scheme could be simplicity referred to, e.g. as a “5 wh-sequence”): 1) WHAT definition of style is used? 2) WHAT kind of text is dealt with? 3) WHAT varieties of the particular language are taken into consideration? 4) WHAT is the purpose of work with texts? 5) WHAT other extralinguistic factors are taken into consideration? Since each proposed scheme must be tested in practice, two works are chosen for a brief test – namely, two works dealing with Slovak stylistics, published over nine decades apart, which in this particular case means each of them operated in a considerably different cultural context. The main differences between the compared works are 1) the aim – prescription vs. description, and 2) the supposed reader – secondary school students vs. university students (the academic community in general, re- spectively). Other differences are caused mainly by the different stages of the language as well as metalanguage development, and with the development of the language community in general.

The article presents the results of a quantitative analysis of the vocabulary attested in the Polish translation of the work of Pietro de‘ Crescenzi (Piotr Krescentyn) Księgi o gospodarstwie (original title: Opus ruralium commodorum) against the statystical characteristics of the translations of the New Testament from the latter half of the sixteenth century and the beginning of the seventeenth century, and the text of Wizerunek własny żywota człowieka poczciwego (The Life of the Honest Man) by Mikołaj Rej. The following statystical parameters were studied: the number of words, the number of entries, K quantity factor, arithmetic mean of the frequency of entries, dispersion of entries, vocabulary originality parameter I, distribution of the autosemantic parts of speech (lexical category) and the distribution of individual autosemantic parts of speech (lexical categories). The analysis shows that, with regard to the statistical approach, the vocabulary of Księgi... is rather closer to Wizerunek than to the translations of the New Testament – in comparison to the latter, Księgi... is characterized by a far more ample vocabulary, greater number of entries and autosemantic words, greater number of attested nouns, adverbs in particular (the latter group is characterized by a higher percentage of entries with high frequency). Księgi..., as compared to the translations of the New Testament, also abounds with participles whose repertory is not only more numerous with regard to words but also to entries. The analysis confims the observation made by Władysław Kuraszkiewicz with reference to the dependence between the quantity of vocabulary and the content of texts – the closer it is to real life and refers to its diverse aspects, the richer vocabulary is used for its rendering.
