Wykorzystuje ona częściowo tory linii tramwajowej T3 do Meyzieu Z.I., skąd kursuje z prędkością 100 km/h po nowo wybudowanych torach (wyposażonych w sygnalizację kolejową) na lotnisko. Zaprojektowany jako „Liaison ExpresS LYon Saint-Exupéry” (LESLYS) Rhônexpress jest obsługiwany przez Veolia Transdev sześcioma tramwajami Stadler Tango. Zapewnia szybkie i dogodne połączenie lotniska z centrum miasta. Jej charakterystyka techniczna i eksploatacyjna jest przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu.

Celem artykułu jest rozstrzygnięcie, w jaki sposób zastosować model mieszanki marketingowej w działaniach e-commerce w zakresie świadczenia usług kurierskich realizowanych dla sklepów internetowych. Dla realizacji tak przyjętego celu pracy, po pierwsze, określono istotę mieszanki marketingowej, w szczególności modele stosowane na rynku usług. Po drugie, dokonano charakterystyki rynku e-commerce w zakresie świadczenia usług kurierskich i obsługi paczkomatów w Polsce. Przedstawiono strukturę relacji między podmiotami rynku e-commerce. Po trzecie, dokonano charakterystyki poszczególnych elementów marketingu mix przyjętych w modelu 7P marketingu mix (Booms, Bitner, 1981) i podano ich przykłady, odwołując się do aktywności marketingowych wybranego przedsiębiorstwa świadczącego usługi e-commerce w zakresie usług kurierskich. Po czwarte, dokonano analizy poszczególnych metod i narzędzi stosowanych w ramach zintegrowanej komunikacji marketingowej przedsiębiorstwa. Wskazano kierunek dalszych prac badawczych prowadzących do ujednolicenia terminologii, charakterystyki i interpretacji poszczególnych elementów modelu marketingu mix oraz ich praktycznego wykorzystania na rynku usług logistycznych. Działania badawcze pracy przeprowadzono za pomocą metody monograficznej.
The main objective of this paper is to indicate how to apply the marketing mix model in the e-commerce activities of online store carrier services. In order to realize such a research objective, first, the marketing mix concept, particularly in services marketing, was clarified. Second, the e-commerce in the field of carrier services and parcel locker services in the Polish market was characterized. The e-commerce market entities’ relationship structure was presented. Third, based on the 7P model of marketing mix (Booms, Bitner, 1981), the elements of marketing mix were conceptualized and presented on the example of the marketing strategy within a selected logistics services company. Fourth, the methods and tools of integrated marketing communication of the company were analyzed. Directions for future studies include research on terminology unification, conceptualization and interpretation of the marketing mix elements, and their application in the logistics service market. The research results presented in this paper were conducted according to the monographic method and involved a case study of a selected logistics service company.

The State Fire Service (in Polish: Państwowa Straż Pożarna PSP) is an organisation that was set up for the execution of its tasks in combating fires, natural disasters or other local threats in accordance with the provisions of the Act concerning the State Fire Service. A functional division of the State Fire Service is compliant with the administrative division of the country, and its area of operations comprises the whole territory of Poland. That is why the State Fire Service is functioning as a structured organisation possessing a transparent structure ensuring realisation of tasks appointed by the provisions of the Act. The administrative division of the country has the largest influence on the administrative structure of the country, that is why the organisational units of the State Fire Service are deployed in the territory of Poland in accordance with the effective territorial division. The formation of the present structure functioning at the State Fire Service was based on the existing territorial division, and it is also supposed to ensure a correct co-operation with different administrative units of the country. The shape of the organisational structure, in its form, resembles organisations functioning within and beyond actions of public administration. The structure of organisation in the present shape creates convenient conditions for observing and specifying forms of communication accompanying functioning organisational units, and firefighting and rescue units directly responsible for elimination of threats. All organisations executing public tasks, reserved exclusively for each of them to be carried out, in the present structure of the public service cannot do without an element executing administrative tasks, functioning in its structure. The administrative tasks are necessary to correct functioning, irrespective of assigned tasks. At the State Fire Service, it creates conditions for launching the processes occurring universally in different organisations. That is why one can observe one of the layers of communication in action, functioning within the State Fire Service, and connected with the execution of the administrative work. The State Fire Service, has as its main task the elimination of definite threats. While functioning and executing suitable actions for the realisation of definite tasks, we may observe next layers of communication. The essential element in preparation for the elimination of definite threats is a suitable substantive preparation of workers of the State Fire Service. Acquired knowledge during training and favourable conditions make possible identifying next layer of communication. It is well-founded when we pay attention to forms of communication occurring during rescue activities, where one can freely observe next communication layer.

The aim of this paper is to identify the role of projects in the development of innovative company on the example of selected innovative enterprises from Lower Silesia. The enterprise selected for the research was the Samorządowy Informator SMS Sp. z o.o., which provides five main e-services. Each of those was designed basing on project management methodology and is a response for the market needs. The article presents the development of selected e-services and the enterprise development that could be reached through these e-services. Orientation for projects is one of the pillars to implement company’s strategy. The analysis of the enterprise indicates that ability to create e-services as well as effective project portfolio management helps in company’s development on a competitive market.

The aim of the study was to investigate the communication process between the tourist office and the client. The paper characterizes the basic definitions and selected models of the theory of the communication process. The survey was conducted in the period from February to April 2020, on a group of 76 clients of the selected tourist office. The respondents were selected at random. A study with the use of an interview questionnaire was also conducted. Its purpose was to answer questions about efficient communication between tourist office employees and their clients. The conversation was direct and individual. The satisfaction with the quality of the communication process between the tourist office employee and the client was determined, as well as the prospects for further cooperation. A smoothly running communication process between tourist office employees and the clients is very important. Every effort should be made to minimize the impact of potential barriers, so that both parties can achieve the intended benefits and will be satisfied with such cooperation. Based on the research, the clients were divided into individual groups. Each group consisted of people who share common personal characteristics and a specific approach to service. In the interview, the topic of a “difficult client” was also raised.

In this paper, a general framework for modelling stochastic service curves for communication networks is presented. It connects with each other two approaches to the traffic analysis and performance evaluation of communication systems, namely, the one which is called a deterministic network calculus with its stochastic counterpart. Thereby, it enables to treat any communication traffic in a consistent way. Further, as we show here, it enables also achieving new results. Derivation of the above model is presented in details in this paper. Finally, some hints are given how the method presented in this article could be applied in maritime telecommunications area.

Mobile systems, by nature, have finite resources. Radio spectrum is limited, expensive and shared between many users and services. Mobile broadband networks must support multiple applications of voice, video and data on a single IP-based infrastructure. These converged services each have unique traffic holding and quality requirements. A positive user experience must be obtained through efficient partitioning of the available wireless network resources. The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has developed a comprehensive Quality of Service (QoS) parameter to address this problem. The regular control of service quality is critical for operators to ensure user Quality of Experience (QoE), establish new business models and monetize services. It enables operators to employ fair-use resource policies and maintain network performance during peak traffic times. Wireless mobile communication is tending towards an integrated system of Internet and telecommunication technologies, where mobile users move freely anytime and everywhere. They desire to communicate with any device using the best service available. In this paper QoS management issues in mobile communication are described. The authors present an insight into subscriber behavior and related factors that affect the QoE of mobile data services.

The Albanian challenges have been insistent not just for domestic researchers, academics, or even Albanian citizens; they pique a lot of people in different geographic positions, first of all, the European ones, because by a strong European drive Albanian progresses have been oriented. This brings a great necessity to watch very close those evolutions, processes and the impacts they have in the Albanian social tissue. At the same time, it is very important to understand what streamline has been followed till now by micro and macro processes which have affected the systems affecting thou the relations between pairs, which not necessarily are being expressed in standards. There is no sustainable change or improvement, if it is not built at the cellular level, and when we talk about the state, institutions and citizens, the way they relate, if it is standardized or not by laws or procedures, it becomes the most important reading that we must do to understand the substratum of those changes. Relations, communications and the future of the communicative situations between citizens and public operators including the public administration during the public service proceedings, indicate the quality and sustainability of Albanian evolutions in social view, as well as the forecasting we can do regarding their impact in the future. To increase complexity, we can add another variable to the communication’s analyses in the public service, which represents an important evolution of Albania in this context, the wide introduction of the Technologies of Information and Communication (TIC) in the biggest part of public service provision. This makes us investigate about effects and impacts they have had during the service delivery. We may judge the transparence’s perception related to how much equal citizens consider they are being treated by public operators, what’s the influence it has in the trust climate, notably on the citizens trust towards public administration, whose salaries are being paid by public and who theoretically must carry over public interest. We may, as well, investigate the impact that this variable has had in the new dimension of accountability which en bloc, associated by an accurate lawful and institutional monitoring, has been very sensitive and actually they represents mayor arguments of social and political debate in the country.

Research has not yet adequately explored the potential interplay between the physician’s gender and the patient’s perception of the service quality. Although various studies have covered the measurement of service quality in the hospital industry, the gender perspective has not been touched on significantly. This study is a review article that aims to explore how gender matters to the physician-patient interaction in the service setting. It discusses the patient’s responses to physicians of different genders and the behavior of physicians of different genders. Consequently, it was found that gender is one of the factors that influence the physician-patient interaction and patients’ perception of the doctor’s competence. The gender of the physician as well as the patient could influence the communication level in medical encounters. Gender-based stereotypes in the service encounter could also affect the patient-physician interaction and the evaluations that patients give to physicians. Moreover, it was discussed that traditions, religion, culture, stereotypes and past experience serve as a foundation for customers to form a preference for the physician’s sex. The relationship between the physician and the patient is shaped by many factors lying on both the patient’s and the doctor’s side. These factors include the difference in communication style between males and females, the patient-physician gender dyad, the difference in personality traits between males and females. All these factors fall under the service dimension that is essential in measuring the quality of service.

The paper presents a research on how future mathematics teachers use mathematical language and how they transmit and communicate their reasoning. The aim of the research was to elaborate on the characteristics of geometrical language used by students during transforming verbal information into figural one and vice versa. The results show the difficulty in expressing one’s thoughts by formal language. Meanings can be easily distorted because of the use of colloquial language that causes lots of ambiguities. The conclusions driven from relevant research depict the role that intuition plays in expressing mathematical thoughts. Moreover, it is not as easy as it may appear to transform verbal information into figural one, and figural into verbal one. However, teaching and developing these competences should be an integral part of mathematics education.

Video sharing services like YouTube have become very popular which consequently results in a drastic shift of the Internet traffic statistic. When transmitting video content over packet based networks, stringent quality of service (QoS) constraints must be met in order to provide the comparable level of quality to a traditional broadcast television. However, the packet transmission is influenced by delays and losses of data packets which can have devastating influence on the perceived quality of the video. Therefore, we conducted an experimental evaluation of HTTP based video transmission focusing on how they react to packet delay and loss. Through this analysis we investigated how long video playback is stalled and how often re-buffering events take place. Our analysis revealed threshold levels for the packet delay, packet losses and network throughput which should not be exceeded in order to preserve smooth video transmission.

In this paper the quality aspects of bitrate and loudness in digital broadcasting and webcasting systems are examined. The authors discuss a survey concerning user preferences related with processing and managing audio content. The coding efficiency of a popular audio format is analyzed in the context of storing media. An objective study on a representative group of signal samples, as well as a subjective study of the perceived quality of real-time broadcasted and webcasted radio programs are performed.
