Opis:
The main concept behind employing cognitive radio is to enable secondary users (SUs) or unlicensed users to utilize the available spectrum. Spectrum sensing methods detect the existence of primary users (PUs) and have become the main topic of research in the CRN industry and in academia. This paper proposes a new framework based on the Adam gradient descent (Adam GD) algorithm to develop a spectrum sensing mechanism used in CRNs and detecting the availability of free channels. The signal's components are extracted from the received signal and the spectrum is searched for availability which is detected through a fusion center using the proposed algorithm. The proposed Adam GD algorithm attains the maximum detection probability rate and the minimum false alarm probability of 0.71 and 0.39, respectively, for a Rayleigh channel.

The article is devoted to the development of a method for increasing the efficiency of communication channels of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the conditions of electronic warfare (EW). The author analyses the threats that may be caused by the use of electronic warfare against autonomous UAVs. A review of some technologies that can be used to create original algorithms for countering electronic warfare and increasing the autonomy of UAVs on the battlefield is carried out. The structure of modern digital communication systems is considered. The requirements of unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturers for onboard electronic equipment are analyzed, and the choice of the hardware platform of the target radio system is justified. The main idea and novelty of the proposed method are highlighted. The creation of a model of a cognitive radio channel for UAVs is considered step by step. The main steps of modelling the spectral activity of electronic warfare equipment are proposed. The main criteria for choosing a free spectral range are determined. The type of neural network for use in the target cognitive radio system is substantiated. The idea of applying adaptive coding in UAV communication channels using multicomponent turbo codes in combination with neural networks, which are simultaneously used for cognitive radio, has been further developed.

Opis:
Over the past two decades, numerous research projects have concentrated on cognitive radio wireless sensor networks (CR-WSNs) and their benefits. To tackle the problem of energy and spectrum shortfall in CR-WSNs, this research proposes an underpinning decode-&-forward (DF) relaying technique. Using the suggested time-slot architecture (TSA), this technique harvests energy from a multi-antenna power beam (PB) and delivers source information to the target utilizing energy-constrained secondary source and relay nodes. The study considers three proposed relay selection schemes: enhanced hybrid partial relay selection (E-HPRS), conventional opportunistic relay selection (C-ORS), and leading opportunistic relay selection (L-ORS). We present evidence for the sustainability of the suggested methods by examining the outage probability (OP) and throughput (TPT) under multiple primary users (PUs). These systems leverage time switching (TS) receiver design to increase end-to-end performance while taking into account the maximum interference constraint and transceiver hardware inadequacies. In order to assess the efficacy of the proposed methods, we derive the exact and asymptotic closed-form equations for OP and TPT & develop an understanding to learn how they affect the overall performance all across the Rayleigh fading channel. The results show that OP of the L-ORS protocol is 16% better than C-ORS and 75% better than E-HPRS in terms of transmitting SNR. The OP of L-ORS is 30% better than C-ORS and 55% better than E-HPRS in terms of hardware inadequacies at the destination. The L-ORS technique outperforms C-ORS and E-HPRS in terms of TPT by 4% and 11%, respectively.

Opis:
Vacant frequency bands are used in cognitive radio (CR) by incorporating the spectrum sensing (SS) technique. Spectrum sharing plays a central role in ensuring the effectiveness of CR applications. Therefore, a new multi-stage detector for robust signal and spectrum sensing applications is introduced here. Initially, the sampled signal is subjected to SNR estimation by using a convolutional neural network (CNN). Next, the detection strategy is selected in accordance with the predicted SNR levels of the received signal. Energy detector (ED) and singular value-based detector (SVD) are the solutions utilized in the event of high SNR, whilst refined non-negative matrix factorization (MNMF) is employed in the case of low SNR. CNN weights are chosen via the Levy updated sea lion optimization (LU-SLNO) algorithm inspired by the traditional sea lion optimization (SLNO) approach. Finally, the outcomes of the selected detectors are added, offering a precise decision on spectrum tenancy and existence of the signal.

This paper presents an algorithm that supports the dynamic spectrum access process in cognitive radio networks by generating a sorted list of best radio channels or by identifying those frequency ranges that are not in use temporarily. The concept is based on the reinforcement learning technique named Q-learning. To evaluate the utility of individual radio channels, spectrum monitoring is performed. In the presented solution, the epsilon-greedy action selection method is used to indicate which channel should be monitored next. The article includes a description of the proposed algorithm, scenarios, metrics, and simulation results showing the correct operation of the approach relied upon to evaluate the utility of radio channels and the epsilon-greedy action selection method. Based on the performed tests, it is possible to determine algorithm parameters that should be used in this proposed deployment. The paper also presents a comparison of the results with two other action selection methods.

In cognitive radio technology, spectrum sensing is essential for detecting spectrum holes which may be allotted to secondary users. In this paper, an optimal voting rule is used for cooperative spectrum sensing while minimizing the total error rate (TER). The proposed spectrum sensing method is more energy-efficient and may be implemented in practice. It is relied upon in an improved energy detector whose utilization depends on the presence or absence of the primary user. Expressions for false alarm and missed detection probabilities are derived in the paper as well. Overall performance is analyzed both for AWGN and Rayleigh fading channels, in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). The optimum voting rule is applied to the cooperative spectrum sensing process in order to identify the optimum number of sensing nodes and the detection threshold. Finally, an energy-efficient spectrum sensing algorithm is proposed, requiring a lower number of cognitive users for a given error bound.

In this paper a dynamic spectrum access (DSA) concept is explored for mitigating the paucity of spectral bandwidth in cognitive radio (CR) for opportunistic, dynamic access of the spectrum without any interference. Dynamic spectrum access schemes are proposed for a distributed cognitive radio network consisting of one secondary user (SU) and many primary users (PUs). The SU has to make decisions for accessing PU channels within discrete time slots. The design of sensing and access strategies that govern channel choice in each slot for near-optimal throughput performance of the SU may be formulated as a partially observable Markov decision process (POMDP). Furthermore, it is considered that the SU incurs a cost whenever it switches to a different channel. The switching cost is expressed in terms of delay, packet loss and packet overhead. In this work, the SU access policy based on a myopic approach is proposed and evaluated.

The continuous growth of demand experienced by wireless networks creates a spectrum availability challenge. Cognitive radio (CR) is a promising solution capable of overcoming spectrum scarcity. It is an intelligent radio technology that may be programmed and dynamically configured to avoid interference and congestion in cognitive radio networks (CRN). Spectrum sensing (SS) is a cognitive radio life cycle task aiming to detect spectrum holes. A number of innovative approaches are devised to monitor the spectrum and to determine when these holes are present. The purpose of this survey is to investigate some of these schemes which are constructed based on machine learning concepts and principles. In addition, this review aims to present a general classification of these machine learningbased schemes.

In this study, an energy-based spectrum sensing method combined with copula theory is proposed for cognitive radio systems. In the proposed spectrum sensing model, cognitive radio users first make their own local spectrum decision with energy-based spectrum sensing. Then, they forward their decision to the fusion center. In the fusion center, this decision is compared with the threshold value determined by copula theory and global spectrum decision is made. The test statistic at the fusion center were obtained with the Neyman Pearson approach. Thus, the fusion rule was created for the fusion center and necessary simulation studies were performed. According to the results of the simulation studies, the proposed detection method showed better results than the traditional energy based detection method.

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) operate in an overcrowded electromagnetic environment, as the spectrum is shared by various wireless communication technologies. This gives rise to various challenges related to optimized and efficient spectrum utilization. Cognitive radio (CR) has emerged as a solution satisfying this requirement, as it is capable of adapting to the dynamic radio spectrum. Thanks to the deployment of cognitive radio in WSNs, the spectrum may be utilized in a more efficient manner. CR may identify the vacant channels dynamically, allowing the sensor nodes to effeectively communicate with each other. In this paper a clustering algorithm known as improved cluster-based channel assignment (ICBCA) is implemented, forming clusters of CR sensor nodes and then selecting vacant channels for data transmission purposes. Simulation results show that ICBCA outperforms existing clustering algorithms in CR sensor networks.

A novel non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme is proposed to improve the throughput and the outage probability of the cognitive radio (CR) inspired system which has been implemented to adapt multiple services in the next-generation network (5G). In the proposed scheme, the primary source (PS) had sent a superposition code symbol with a predefined power allocation to relays, it decoded and forwarded (DF) a new superposition coded symbol to the destination with the other power allocation. By using a dual antenna at relays, it will be improved the bandwidth efficiency in such CR NOMA scheme. The performance of the system is evaluated based on the outage probability and the throughput with the assumption of the Rayleigh fading channels. According to the results obtained, it is shown that the outage probability and throughput of the proposed full-duplex (FD) in CR-NOMA with reasonable parameters can be able deploy in practical design as illustration in numerical results section.
