Opis:: Aim. The research aim is to find out the correlation between the comprehension of read texts in German and the different cognitive linking levels such as the propositional, the epistemic and the speech of act level. Methods. In the first phase of the research, we used qualitative content analysis to identify the different cognitive levels in the texts. After that we used a didactic test to determine the text comprehension in German at the A2 language proficiency level. Results. A statistically significant positive relationship was found between reading comprehension performance in German and the propositional level. This means, higher performance in reading comprehension of German texts is manifested if the read texts contain indicators such as indicative sentences and adverbial tenses. Subsequently, we find a tendency correlation between the comprehension of German texts and the level of speech acts. No statistically significant relationship was found in the variable of epistemic level and German text comprehension. Conclusion. Our research showed that the epistemic level indicators and the speech act level indicators made it difficult for the learners to comprehend German texts, for this reason it would be necessary that after mastering the simpler phenomena such as the indicative mood, they should fluently start to deal with the indicators of the above levels. In the educational process, it is necessary to focus on the training of word types, on explaining the meanings of these words or expressions in order to develop and broaden the vocabulary of learners.

Opis:: A shift from traditional methods of teaching science to modern and better suited to pupils can be noticed in Slovenian primary schools. They should also be followed by assessment both in regular primary schools and special education schools. The purpose of this study was to find out the perceptions of special education teachers about their own practice of science assessments and their actual practices. A questionnaire and authentic written tests were used for the research. Comparative analysis revealed considerable inconsistency between perceptions and practices. The greatest differences were found in the cognitive levels of knowledge and process skills. The research results raise teachers’ awareness and thus enable changing of their practices.

Opis:: Various understanding of human wisdom is discussed, from common-sense approaches through cognitive considerations to scientific analysis. The main cognitive levels are considered such as: filtering the available information about the appearing situation, comprehensive assessment of the situation, awareness of the consequences about the existing situation and reaction to the existing situation. The basic set of essential attributes like knowledge, skills, and inspirations are also analyzed. Based on these considerations some relations between cognitive levels and wisdom attributes are presented. It leads to a definition of the wisdom quotient which is a representative measure of human wisdom behaviors. Some representative cases of such behavior are specified and discussed as human attitudes. It is also shown how computer science approaches can support calculation of some wisdom indexes and, in consequence, allow understanding human wisdom.

Za przykłady służą polski przedrostek nad- oraz nazwa miesiąca sierpień. W pierwszym wypadku analizujemy konkretne, indywidualne użycia (tegoż przedrostka), w drugim zwracamy uwagę na szczególne wydarzenia upamiętniane w sierpniu. Prowadzi nas to do rozważań na temat etnolingwistyki zorientowanej indywidualistycznie lub obywatelsko.
A postmodern slant is attempted to be given to ethnolinguistics. As the prevailing mode of ethnolinguistic research is taken to be supraindividual, global, and systemic, the proposal argues for individualization understood as situational (real-world) contextualization of linguistic expressions. The two examined examples involve the Polish prefix nad- ‘appr. over’ and the month-name sierpień ‘August’. The former is scrutinized in relation to some of its attestations set in the context of actual and individual usage, whereas the latter is related to selected special and specific events that are commemorated throughout August. The analysis is framed in terms of individual- and civil society-oriented ethnolinguistics.
