Y and V codoped SrBi2Nb2O9 ceramics, which have been characterized by XRD, FTIR and SEM techniques, were prepared through molten salt using NaCl-KCl medium. Through X-ray diffraction analysis, all prepared samples were matched by undoped SrBi2Nb2O9. The lattice parameters do not depend on the amount of dopants. Under the optimized experimental conditions, the compounds are composed of small crystallites of varying size and orientation, resulting in many micros train defects. FTIR spectra revealed that the dopant promotes a slight decrease in the 612 cm-1 band. A plate-like morphology was revealed by scanning electron microscopy, while Nyquist plots indicate non-Debye relaxation for all compounds. V and Y were incorporated into SrBi2Nb2O9 lattice in order to reduce dielectric loss tangent. Thus, the codoping increases the of SrB1.9Y0.1Nb1.95V0.05O9 (Y0.1V0.05) ceramic whereas, they were significantly decreased in the case of SrB1.8Y0.2Nb2O9 (Y0.2) ceramic. Y0.1V0.05 sample makes up the highest efficient charge transfer, followed by Y0.2 sample representing the lowest.

In this work, nickel-cobalt oxide (Ni(1-x)CoxO) thin films, where x = 0, 4, 6 and 8 % have been successfully deposited on glass substrates by chemical spray pyrolysis (CSP) technique at substrate temperature of (400 °C) and thickness of about 300 nm. The structural and optical properties of these films have been studied using XRD, AFM, and UV-Visible spectroscopy. The XRD results showed that all films are polycrystalline in nature with cubic structure and preferred orientation along (111) plane. The crystallite size was calculated using Scherrer formula and it is found that the undoped NiO sample has maximum crystallite size (51.16 nm). AFM results showed homogenous and smooth thin films. The absorbance and transmittance spectra have been recorded in the wavelength range of (300-900) nm in order to study the optical properties. The optical energy gap for allowed direct electronic transition was calculated using Tauc equation. It is found that the band gap decreases as the Co-concentration increases and the band gap values were in the range of 3.58-3.66 eV and 3.58 eV for the prepared Nickel-Cobalt Oxide thin films. The Urbach energy increases as the Co-concentration increases and the Urbach. The optical constants including (absorption coefficient, real and imaginary parts of dielectric constant) were also calculated as a function of photon energy. Refractive index and extinction coefficient for Nickel- Cobalt Oxide thin films were estimated as a function of wavelength.

Using a spray pneumatic technique, cobalt (Co) and copper (Cu) co-doped zinc oxide thin films were effectively deposited on a glass substrate. The goal of this work was to create a semiconductor with good optical and electrical properties by co-doping ZnO thin films with Cu and Co. The ZnO thin films obtained from the Co and Cu co-doping exhibit patterns of x-ray diffraction spectra that suggest they are hexagonal ZnO (wurtzite, JCPDS 36-1451). The thin film elaborated with 2 % Co and 7 % Cu has the lowest value of crystallite size (D = 14.67 nm). The transmission spectra demonstrate that all films have good optical transparency in the visible spectrum, with 7 % Cu achieving the highest transmission. Increasing Cu contents raised the band gap energy. The value at the minimum was 3.31 eV. The optical band gap’s broadening is a significant characteristic of advanced materials and may be useful in applications involving metal oxide nanostructures for visible light gas sensing.

The aim of this work was to study the effect of fabrication conditions and neodymium co-doping on the physical properties of (Pb0.98La0.02)(Zr0.65Ti0.35)0.98O3, known as PLZT:Nd3+ ceramics. All ceramic powders of these materials were synthesized by the conventional mixed oxide method, from the high purity raw materials (>99.9%). The bulk ceramic samples were sintered by the pressure less sintering and the hot-uniaxial pressing techniques. The study gives a detailed account of the relationships between doping and preparing conditions on the dielectric and optical properties of obtained ceramic materials. Optimal conditions of PLZT:Nd3+ preparation as well as Nd3+ activator concentration were determined in relation to the potential opto-electronic applications.
Celem niniejszej pracy było zbadanie wpływu warunków wytwarzania i zastosowanej domieszki neodymu na właściwości fizyczne ceramiki (Pb0.98La0.02)(Zr0.65Ti0.35)0.98O3, określanej mianem PLZT:Nd3+. Wszystkie proszki przygotowanych składów syntetyzowano metodą konwencjonalną, z tlenków o wysokiej czystości (>99.9%). Próbki ceramiczne zagęszczano techniką swobodnego spiekania i jednoosiowego prasowania na gorąco. Wykonane badania dały szczegółowy opis zależności między stosowaną domieszką oraz przyjętymi warunkami wytwarzania oraz wpływu na dielektryczne i optyczne właściwości otrzyma- nych materiałów ceramicznych. Optymalne warunki przygotowania PLZT:Nd3+, jak również zastosowane stężenia aktywatora Nd3+ zostały określone w odniesieniu do potencjalnych zastosowań optoelektronicznych.

Fluorine and tungsten co-doped tin (IV) oxide (WFTO) thin films have been prepared first time by a sol–gel spin coating method. The effect of F and W co-dopant ratio on optical, electrical and structural properties of SnO2 was investigated. It was found that the optical properties of the films were obviously affected by the co-dopant ratio. When the F:W co-dopant ratio increases from 0.25:0.25 to 0.75:0.50, the transmittance in the short wavelengths slightly increases and transmittance edge shifts towards shorter wavelength. With an increase in the co-dopant ratio, the reduction and red shifts in the optical transmittance edge are very obvious at all wavelengths. Transmittance values at 550 nm for the films have varied between 79.64% and 50.20%. The indirect and direct band gap values for WFTO-1, WFTO-2, WFTO-3 and WFTO-4 samples were calculated to be 3.73, 3.79, 3.48, 3.40 eV and 4.03, 4.04, 3.98, 3.97 eV, respectively. The crystal structure of the films has been investigated by X-ray diffraction patterns. It has been observed that WFTO-1 and WFTO-2 samples have (111) preferential orientation corresponding to SnO2 cubic phase. This orientation almost disappears and changes to tetragonal phase (110) orientation for WFTO-3 and WFTO-4. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first cubic structure observation for SnO2 grown by the sol–gel technique. The electrical properties were also changed with co-doping ratio. The best optical, electrical and structural properties were obtained for mole ratio 0.75:0.50 (F:W).

The paper details with of the preparation and physicochemical characterisation of nano- and microstructured TiO2 doped with Fe and Co produced by the sol-gel method using titanium alkoxide as the precursor of titania as well as iron or cobalt nitrates as dopant sources. Fe and Co doped TiO2 materials were successfully prepared with two different methods. The effect of the dopant type on the synthesis of TiO2 powders was investigated. The physicochemical properties of the studied samples were determined. The characterisation included determination of the dispersion and morphology of the systems (particle size distribution, SEM images), characteristics of porous structure (BET isotherms), crystalline structure (XRD), surface composition (EDS), as well as thermal stability (TG/DTA).
