Opis:
Balance and gait stability assessment is an important part of the otoneurological examination. We present the review of the clinical bedside tests procedures for diagnosis patients with balance disorders. Instability may occur not only in vestibular system dysfunction but in neurological, musculoskeletal and visual system lesions as well. An accurate clini-cal bedside ocular motor examination like, range of motion, stability of fixation, the presence of nystagmus, saccadic and smooth pursuit tests, give information about dynamic character of ocular motility. Tests of the balance system and cerebellum functioning were elaborated. Interpretations criteria for clinical bedside tests in different disease were pre-sented. Head shaking and head trust tests for vestibular system imbalance were described. Authors paid attention to the connection between examinations results and labyrinth or central nervous system disorders. Other tests are suggested to be used in benign paroxysmal positional vertigo diagnosis and ability to self-contained patients gait evaluation. There are some more complex and time-consuming tests like Dynamic Gait Index and Berg Balance Scale, measuring quanti-tative aspects of gait efficiency. The results are obtained based on points which are obtained in various tasks e.g. walking with pivot turn, stepping over and around obstacles. All of these tests are essential part of clinical examination and give preliminary information about patients functioning status and allow to focus on further diagnosis. The final results based on points which are obtained in various tasks e.g. walking with pivot turn, stepping over and around obstacles. Opis:
Tuberculosis (TB) caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in developing countries [1]. With the discovery of chemotherapeutic agents in the 1940s and implementation of directly- -observed therapy short course (DOTS) in the 1980s, it was believed that TB would decline globally. Although a declining trend was observed in most developed countries, this was not evident in other parts of the world [2]. In addition, the rate of successful treatment has been compromised in recent years due to the increasing prevalence of multidrug-resistant (MDR-) and extensively drug-resistant TB ( XDR-TB) strains [3]. Accordingly, significant efforts have been made to discover and develop new treatment modalities against TB. This article serves as a summary of the most recent developments in search for novel anti-tubercular compounds. Here we focus on reviewing the results of basic research and clinical trials obtained in 2015 including: a) the phase IV clinical trials conducted for newly developed: bedaquiline, delamanid, clofazimine (previously registered for treatment of leprosis) b) phase III for fixed-dose combination of existing drugs: pretomanid – moxifloxacin – pyrazinamide) and c) the phase II clinical trials for sutezolid, AZD5847 and SQ109 [4]. All newly developed compounds used in these studies have been briefly characterized and their synthesis pathways fully described. In addition we review the most recent and promising results on nicotinic acid hydrazides, thienyl-pirimidines imidazole- -thiadiazole-benzimidazole and benzocoumarine derivatives presenting their synthesis pathways, most active chemical structures and their potential applications. Throughout this paper the ultimate direction for new drug development strategies, in search for the anti-tubercular agents, have been reviewed.

Opis:
This paper introduces an early prognostic model for attempting to predict the severity of patients for ICU admission and detect the most significant features that affect the prediction process using clinical blood data. The proposed model predicts ICU admission for high-severity patients during the first two hours of hospital admission, which would help assist clinicians in decision-making and enable the efficient use of hospital resources. The Hunger Game search (HGS) meta-heuristic algorithm and a support vector machine (SVM) have been integrated to build the proposed prediction model. Furthermore, these have been used for selecting the most informative features from blood test data. Experiments have shown that using HGS for selecting features with the SVM classifier achieved excellent results as compared with four other meta-heuristic algorithms. The model that used the features that were selected by the HGS algorithm accomplished the topmost results (98.6 and 96.5%) for the best and mean accuracy, respectively, as compared to using all of the features that were selected by other popular optimization algorithms.
