Opis:
Introduction: The preschool age is reasonably considered as the most significant period in the process of a child's body formation. It is at this particular age that the foundation is laid for personal health and physical qualities necessary for efficient participation in various spheres of social life in the future. The aim of this study is to get a knowledge about the dynamics and level of physical fitness in three- to sixyear-old children. Material and methods: The study was carried out on the basis of pre-school institutions of Lviv and Lviv region in 2017. Altogether 1188 preschool children (n=1188) were involved in the research, including 418 children of junior preschool age (3 to 4 years old), 350 middleaged preschoolers (4 to 5 years old) and 420 senior preschoolers (5 to 6 years old). Methods of research applied were as follows: analysis and systematization of scientific publications, educational experiment, educational testing, educational observations, Student's t-test, parametric statistics methods. Results: It has been found that with age the examined sample of children displays gradual improvement of all physical fitness characteristics. The findings testify to intensive and heterochronic development of children's motor qualities in the process of their ontogenesis. Conclusion: General physical fitness level of the majority of the examined children could be estimated as satisfactory and corresponding to the appropriate age standards. Our findings supplement the data on application of the available informative tests for preschooler's physical fitness assessment.

Proper nutrition is one of the most important environmental factors affecting human development and maintaining good health. It involves total coverage of the body's energy needs and all necessary nutrients. Children need properly balanced nutrients for proper development. The diet is 85% successful, both in terms of health and success in sport. Incorrect nutrition during the period of growth and development of the body can affect not only the well-being and health status in childhood and adolescence, but can also lead to many serious consequences later in life. In addition, eating habits and habits, which later are very difficult to change, usually develop at a young age.

Parents who are to confront a disabled child expect that they will be provided with a wide range of specialists such as doctors and therapists and that they will be given a lot of support coming from the environment since it determines their role in supporting their child’s therapeutic and educational process. In the hereby article the author presents her own research results picturing the views of the parents of a child with special needs concerning social support they receive while making first decisions, organising therapeutic help and searching for their role in the rehabilitation process of their disabled child. The author emphasises that parents should have constant access to important information, unfortunately its lack has become a matter of complaint among parents. The text points out the importance of the relationship between a parent and a therapist, which has a major influence on the quality and success of the disabled child therapy.

Studies into Children Development from 0 to 3 Years
Opis:
This paper is a review of Polish academic studies into the topic of early child education and care (up to three years of age), published over the course of the 20th Century to the present day, with the main focus on institutional daycare. The majority of academic papers on the subject of early childhood in the context of public institutional daycare were focused on nursing and development, while nursery schools as such were most frequently regarded solely as an alternative to being brought up in a family. The dominant notions in the relevant literature are those of care (including mainly nursing, nutrition and preventative care), development and education. Among the works published after 1945, the majority were nursing handbooks or elaborations on psychology. Certain components of basic early childhood ‘didactics’ can be identified in the papers by Halina Spionek and Hanna Trawińska, as well as in the journals from the 1960s through to the 1980s. The 1970s also saw a number of papers dedicated to the implementation of proper everyday practices into nursery schools and improving the quality of their services. Research on the social spaces of nursery schools was also undertaken in the late 1990s by a team of pedagogues in Łódź, while the economic and social conditions of nursery school operation was examined a group of scholars from the Białystok School of Economics. Currently, the topic of early education in the context of institutional daycare is being explored with growing interest, however, in the overall field of pedagogics it still remains under-researched.

Opis:
The work concerns the role of childhood experiences in the development of mental health. It is believed that regardless of the emotional relationship and genetic predispositions, appropriately selected stimulants in the environment may also influence the young child’s development. In the first periods of child’s life the experiences gained in family pay as crucial character as the environment where this development takes place. It is emphasized in literature that appropriate intellectual and social development of a child is related with the influence of the external environment as long as it is available and logically designed. In Poland only a few studies concern families with small children – they are usually carried out by sociologists, moreover, there is also very little data on the determinants of the development of children and possible role of these for mental health. It was therefore attempted in this work to describe possible childhood experiences, which may play role in the development of mental health in childhood and adolescence or adulthood.

The article focuses on the musical interactions of parents with children based on elements of E.E. Gordon’s music learning theory which intensify their musical development in different periods of their life. The individual case method and the interview technique were used in the research. The description of the results was generalised and synthesised by analysing interviews with nine family members. The research showed that almost all parents included intentional and varied activities to support their children’s musical development in the prenatal period. They also undertook them at later stages of their lives. These activities often focused on presenting diverse music in terms of style, dynamics, pace, tonality and meter, moving to it, singing for a child and with a child, and performing tonal and rhythmic patterns. It resulted in a wide variety of musical behaviours in the children, conditioned by their age and stage of musical development. It proves that early musical support is an important foundation for the proper course of this process and further musical education.

Many theories (Comers’ SDM, change theory, the Ohio Collaborative) stress that parents’ engagement is key for a child’s achievement and identified their role as co-teachers, co-leaders, co-workers, and co-supporters in their children’s development. Siegel and Hartzell’s (2006) emphasized that parents must be mindfully present during connecting interactions. The pandemic that started in 2019 put pressure on parents struggling with health, financial problems, etc. by adding new demands to participate in their children’s daily lessons, learn new technology, and keep children engaged and prepared for classes online. These problems occurred were not localized to the USA, but were in all countries, as COVID was a global pandemic. This study addresses teachers’ suggestions on what parents could do to stimulate their children’s learning and development. A mixed-method research study was conducted in the Midwest of the United States using Qualtrics with data collected from a survey sent to 121 teachers of young children The results provided an analysis of parents’ and teachers ‘struggles in this unprecedented situation and teachers’ suggestions for parents on how to stimulate children’s development if it extends or re-surge.

The main aim of this paper is to summarize available findings related to the subject of high sensitivity from both the educational and parenting perspectives. According to the authors of the concept of Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS), between 15% and 20% of the population exhibit such traits, therefore one has to say that it is necessary to raise the awareness of this subject amongst parents and teachers. High sensitivity may exhibit itself in many ways, depending on the environmental and other temperamental conditions. Understanding its main characteristics (DOES) will allow one to appreciate the potential of this condition instead of focusing on its deficiencies. Such a perspective opens up possible avenues of supporting the Highly Sensitive Child’s resources by both parents and teachers. A review was carried out to answer a research question by collecting and summarizing theo-retical and empirical evidence that fits pre-specified eligibility criteria. The study selection criteria was to find literature/paper reviews and primary studies published in indexed journals included in various databases and focused on Sensory Processing Sensitivity directly, transdisciplinary and ho-listic approaches were central to the process. In the research strategy, the following databases were consulted: PSYCinfo, Scopus and PubMed. The keywords sensory processing, sensitive, environ-mental sensitivity, education were placed in all electronic databases and set to be found in the titles, abstracts or keywords of the documents. No limits on dates were established. At the preparation stage, articles relevant to the topic were selected and supplemented with publications related to child development and educational context. The search was conducted from December 2018 to July 2019.

The role of parents in supporting the children’s psychosexual development is extremely significant. It is them who introduce first in the system of values, rules, behavioral standards, they teach how to express feelings and emotions and this is why the family home is the best place to start sexual education. It is very difficult for many parents to transfer knowledge about sexuality to children, especially for the parents of children with mental disability. They present different attitudes towards the children’s sexuality, which imply how they lead the education on this topic. Conducted research aimed at exploring the parents’ opinions on sexual education at home. Research results showed a range of difficulties (among others insufficient preparation or knowledge) concerning the conversations with children about their psychosexual development. It is necessary to support the parents with knowledge, information as well as with competences and skills in sexual education of children.

Dane przytaczane w artykule pochodzą z obszaru analiz z odwołaniem do literatury przedmiotu i badań empirycznych. Idea rozwoju religijności przedstawia koncepcję integralnego rozwoju człowieka zaczerpniętą z teorii Czesława Walesy (2005, 2006), z uszczegółowieniem rozwoju obrazu Boga. Opracowanie wskazuje na szanse i ograniczenia rozwoju religijnego u dzieci wychowywanych w rodzinach niepełnych.
The main aim of the study is to present the development of religiosity in children from single-parent families. The study is based on several basic assumptions. It is assumed that religiosity is understood personalistically (Zdybicka, 1993) and is a natural form of social life, with its nature and quality going beyond traditional social analyses. Religious development in the psychological aspect is understood as the development of a positive relationship with God, this development is potentially possible. The data cited in the article come from the area of analyses with reference to the literature of subject and empirical research. The idea of the development of religiosity presents the concept of integral human development taken from the theory of Czesław Walesa (2005; 2006), detailing the development of the image of God. The study points to the chances and limitations of religious development in children brought up in single-parent families.

Opis:
Although knowledge and awareness about the importance of emo-tions in teaching and communication with children is quite developed, in practice it still clashes with the traditional model of education and beliefs regard-ing the role of the school. Interactions between teachers and students are often considered less important than the substantive content of the subjects. The re-sults of the research, as well as the author’s personal experience as a didactic and trainer, indicate that young people often pay attention to the lack of emotional support from teachers, which results in difficulties both in school and in their personal life. The aim of this article is to draw attention to emotional aspects of development and the role of teachers in these processes, which are crucial for functioning and building relationships in adult life. The author cites concepts and research that confirm that teacher emotional support is an important pre-dictor of children’s educational achievements and the development of their social skills. The subject seems to be more important in the face of contemporary reali-ties. The ubiquitous transformation and technological leap cause that the area of education also requires reevaluation and new directions of action.
