Opis:
In this work the optimization process of the tracking and reactive controllers for a mobile robot are presented. The Chemical Reaction Algorithm (CRA) is used to find the optimal parameter values of the membership functions and rules for the reactive and tracking controllers. In this case, we are using five membership functions in each variable of the fuzzy controllers. The main goal of the reactive controller is aimed at providing the robot with the ability to avoid obstacles in its environment. The tests are performed on a benchmark maze problem, in which the goal is not necessarily to leave the maze, but rather that the robot avoids obstacles, in this case the walls, and penalizing for unwanted trajectories, such as cycles. The tracking controller’s goal is for the robot to keep into to a certain path, this in order that the robot can learn to react to unknown environments. The optimization algorithm that was used is based on an abstraction of chemical reactions. To perform the simulation we use the “SimRobot” toolbox, the results of the tests are presented in a detailed fashion, and at the end we are presenting a comparison of results among the CRA, PSO and GA methods.

Opis:
In the present manuscript, unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow over a moving porous semi-infinite vertical plate with time-dependent suction has been studied in the presence of chemical reaction and radiation parameters. Time-dependent partial differential equations in the dimensionless form are solved numerically through mathematical modelling in COMSOL Multiphysics. The results are obtained for velocity, temperature and concentration profiles at different times. Steady state results are also presented for different values of physical parameters. The parameters involved in the problem are useful to change the characteristics of velocity, heat transfer and concentration profiles. The numerical solution of partial differential equations involved in the problem is obtained without sacrificing the relevant physical phenomena.

The characteristic of nano sized particles mass flux conditions are engaged in this investigation. Here we assume that the nano sized particle flux is zero and the nano sized particle fraction arranged itself on the boundary layer. With this convincing and revised relation, the features of Buongiorno relation on three-dimensional flow of Carreau fluid can be applied in a more efficient way. The governing partial differential equations of continuity, momentum, energy and concentration equations which are transmitted into set of pair of nonlinear ordinary differential equations utilizing similar transformations. The numeric solutions are acquired by engaging the bvp4c scheme, which is a finite-difference code for solving boundary value problems. A parametric study is accomplished to demonstrate the impact of Prandtl number, Weissenberg numbers, radiation parameter, chemical reaction parameter, thermophoresis parameter, Brownian motion parameter and Lewis number on the fluid velocity, temperature and concentration profiles as well skin friction coefficient, Nusselt number and Sherwood number within the boundary layer. From this we find the way in which magnetic parameter contributes to the increase in local skin fraction, and the decrease in the Nusselt and Sherwood numbers in these cases. The effects of the velocity temperature and concentration profile are obtained and presented graphically.

analysis is carried out to study chemically reactive, viscous dissipative effects of an incompressible and electrically conducting fluid with MHD free convection adjacent to a vertical surface with variable thermal conductivity (VTD) and variable mass diffusivity (VMD). An approximate numerical solution for the steady laminar boundary layer flow over a wall of the surface in the presence of species concentration and thermal mass diffusion has been studied. Using numerical techniques the governing boundary layer equations are solved to get the exact solution. Numerical calculations are carried out for different values of dimensionless parameters. The results are exhibited through various graphs and it is observed from the analysis of the results that the velocity field is appreciably influenced by the magnetic effect, porous effect, chemical reaction and buoyancy ratio between the species and thermal diffusion at the wall of the surface.

Opis:
The purpose of this paper is to consider a two dimensional free convective flow of a nanofluid due to the combined effects of thermal and mass diffusion in the presence of a chemical reaction of first order. The objective of the present investigation is to analyze the free convective flow in the presence of prescribed wall heat flux and mass flux condition. The governing equations of the linear momentum, energy equation and concentration are obtained in a dimensionless form by introducing a suitable group of similarity transformations. The transformed coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations are solved numerically by using appropriate boundary conditions for the various values of physical parameters. Computations are performed for a wide range of values of the various governing flow parameters of the velocity, temperature and species concentration profiles and results are presented graphically. Numerical results for the skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number are also presented and analyzed in detail. The obtained results are compared with previously published work and are found to be in excellent agreement. The results are a very useful source of information for researchers on the subject of a free convective flow of a nanofluid. This paper illustrates chemical reaction effects on free convective flow of a nanofluid from a vertical plate with uniform heat and mass fluxes.

A study of a suddenly accelerated plate with variable approximated electronegativity with MHD fluid provoked by chemical reaction and radiation is made. The governing hydrodynamical equations of the physical problem was formulated and its solution and analysis showed that increase in electroconductivity, prandtl number, Reynold’s number, Grashof number, chemical reaction and radiation all result to a corresponding increase in the velocity profile of the fluid while magnetic field increase results to a decrease in the velocity profile of the fluid. The shear stress at the wall of the plate was also determined.

The current article addresses the impacts of the pulsatile flow of Powell-Eyring nanofluid using Buongiorno’s model in a horizontal channel. It also describes the combined impacts of thermophoresis and Brownian motion. Blood is an example of a Powell-Eyring fluid. The Runge-Kutta (R-K) 4th-order method, along with the shooting technique, is used to determine solutions for velocity, temperature, and concentration. The impacts of different parameters, including an inclined magnetic field, chemical reaction, Lewis number, and heat source or sink parameter, are illustrated graphically. The mass flux distribution decreases due to an increase in the values of the Powell-Eyring fluid parameter.

In this paper, we present the mathematical study of heat and mass transfer effects on an arterial blood flow under the influence of an applied magnetic field with chemical reaction. A case of mild stenosis is considered in a non-tapered artery which is inclined at an angle γ from the axis. The variable viscosity of the blood is considered varying with the hematocrit ratio. Governing non-linear differential equations have been solved by using an analytical scheme, homotopy perturbation method to obtain the solution for the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles of the blood flow. For having an adequate insight to blood flow behavior through a stenosed artery, graphs have been plotted for wall shear stress, velocity, temperature and concentration profiles with varying values of the applied magnetic field, chemical reaction parameter and porosity parameter. The results show that in an inclined artery, the magnitude of the wall shear stress at stenosis throat increases as values of the applied magnetic field increase while it reduces as the values of both the chemical reaction and porosity parameters increase. Contour plots have been plotted to show the variations of the velocity profile of blood flow as the values of the height of the stenosis as well as the influence of the applied magnetic field increase.

The longitudinal dispersion of a solute between two parallel plates filled with two immiscible electrically conducting fluids is analyzed using Taylor’s model. The fluids in both the regions are incompressible and the transport properties are assumed to be constant. The channel walls are assumed to be electrically insulating. Separate solutions are matched at the interface using suitable matching conditions. The flow is accompanied by an irreversible first-order chemical reaction. The effects of the viscosity ratio, pressure gradient and Hartman number on the effective Taylor dispersion coefficient and volumetric flow rate for an open and short circuit are drawn in the absence and in the presence of chemical reactions. As the Hartman number increases the effective Taylor diffusion coefficient decreases for both open and short circuits. When the magnetic field remains constant, the numerical results show that for homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions, the effective Taylor diffusion coefficient decreases with an increase in the reaction rate constant for both open and short circuits.

Opis:
This study examines the effect of thermal radiation, chemical reaction and viscous dissipation on a magnetohydro- dynamic flow in between a pair of infinite vertical Couette channel walls. The momentum equation accounts the effects of both the thermal and the concentration buoyancy forces of the flow. The energy equation addresses the effects of the thermal radiation and viscous dissipation of the flow. Also, the concentration equation includes the effects of molecular diffusivity and chemical reaction parameters. The gray colored fluid considered in this study is a non-scattering medium and has the property of absorbing and emitting radiation. The Roseland approximation is used to describe the radiative heat flux in the energy equation. The velocity of flow transforms kinetic energy into heat energy. The increment of the velocity due to internal energy results in heating up of the fluid and consequently it causes increment of the thermal buoyancy force. The Eckert number being the ratio of the kinetic energy of the flow to the temperature difference of the channel walls is directly proportional to the thermal energy dissipation. It can be observed that increasing the Eckert number results in increasing velocity. A uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the channel walls. The temperature of the moving wall is high enough due to the presence of thermal radiation. The solution of the governing equations is obtained using regular perturbation techniques. These techniques help to convert partial differential equations to a set of ordinary differential equations in dimensionless form and thus they are solved analytically. The following results are obtained: from the simulation study it is observed that the flow pattern of the fluid is affected due to the influence of the thermal radiation, the chemical reaction and viscous dissipation. The increment in the Hartmann number results in the increment of the Lorentz force but a decrement in velocity of the flow. An increment in the radiative parameter results in a decrement in temperature. An increment in the Prandtl number results in a decrement in thermal diffusivity. An increment in both the chemical reaction parameter and molecular diffusivity results in a decrement in concentration.

Sequential combustion was first applied to gas turbines more than 40 years ago, and almost half of these early machines are still operating. This form of oxidation leads to the flame-less combustion at a second chamber. In GT26, the second stage combustor has 24 SEV burners which are similar in action to the well known ABB EV burner. In this paper, a 3D numerical simulation of the first EV combustor and the second SEV-combustor are performed for normal operating conditions (exhaust mass flow 542 kg/s, exhaust temperature 610 C). Physical modelling of the flame-less oxidation is based on an original implementation of the Gri-Mech mechanism (325 chemical reactions) into the Fluent 5.4. Precise estimation of NOx emission and other pollutants has been done.
